Book Description
Search Marketing Strategies focuses on how to make the most from the search engine industry. Concentrating on the strategic element rather than the procedural approach, the author demonstrates how to adapt the tactical techniques, such as paid search, site side optimization and analytics packages, into search strategies in order to achieve marketing or corporate objectives such as branding, sales and customer acquisition.
* Focuses on search marketing strategy rather than search optimization
* Acts as a toolkit for adapting tactical techniques into search strategies
* Written for marketers, therefore the consideration of the topic of search is wholly relevant for the marketing function
Customer Reviews:
concise about branding and bidding for search terms.......2006-01-18
This book might be compared to a recent one by Moran and Hunt, "Search Engine Marketing". Colborn's text is a little more concise. He aims it at a marketing reader, whereas the other book was also directed to someone who knew HTML. Colborn skips any discussion of how to write actual HTML pages in a way suited for search engines to rank well. Instead, he talks more on branding your site and isolating useful words and phrases associated with it, that users might ask a search engine about.
There is also a quick runthrough of bidding strategies on various search engines. Well, realistically, only Google and Yahoo matter. The bidding is for those words and phrases that you defined in your branding.
Good overview for starting search marketing. Needs meat........2005-12-02
PROS:
- Covers the broad spectrum of topics related tto search marketing. Includes terms, vendors, technology, fraud issues, metrics, and glossary. Mostly focused on paid search strategy, terms and tactics.
- Brings you up to the level of strategy and down to the level of tactical implementation of pay for performance tactics.
- If I were starting a position in Search enginge marketing, this would be the book to read. It's like sitting down with an expert teaching me the job of search engine marketing. Great for newbies or executives to get a comprehensive overview.
- If you need to "speak the language" of search engine marketing and be conversant in strategies and tactics, this is the book for you.
CONS
- Would love to see more `insider' tips and case studies. For that, go to MarketingSherpa.com.
- Could be organized better. Didn't flow for me.
- Good overview, but not a lot of information about natural search engine optimization.
- Overpriced at $37

O'Murchu shows us Jesus in a Wholly new and creative way.
Customer Reviews:
The real message.......2007-01-09
This book lays the challenge at your feet - the real message of Jesus is how to live fully a human life while focusing on the divine within you and every human being. Father O'Murchu's point is looking at God's incarnation from the beginning of man's existance and seeing Jesus' role as the fulfillment of this. I found that the challenge is the same reiterated by G.K. Chesterton - Christianity should not be condemned, it's never been tried. And the book's central theme - Jesus came to show us a radically new way of living our human life in the Spirit of God.
Catching Up with Jesus: A Gospel Story for Our Time.......2006-03-25
An eyeopener as to how we need to have Loving Kindness fill our lives.
O'Murchu Continues His Vision.......2005-09-27
Billed as a sequel to "Quantum Theology," this book is as refreshing as O'Murchu's other work. His argument for updating our understanding of the message of Jesus - catching up with Jesus - is necessary in our 21st century world. The message O'Murchu conveys is one which is in tune with other contemporary thought - living on a shrinking planet with diminishing resources.
The second half of the book, written as monologue/dialogue is a little tedious and sanctimonious but can be forgiven knowing what O'Murchu is trying to convey.
Catching Up with O'Murchu.......2005-06-13
In liberating the Jesus story for our times, O'Murchu follows a model used by the feminist theologian, Anne Clifford -namely
intelligently critique the conventional story, try to recover the elements of the original story and reconstruct as best as possible a timeless story. O'Murchu does a fairly good job at the critiquing; the recovery section of the book focuses on important, if selected and a somewhat limited view of Jesus' identities. The reconstruction represents an exhausting attempt to practically rewrite the gospels. Because of the size of the task, O'Murchu jumps to some conclusions that seem more fictional with little scholarship to back them up. O'Murchu also tends to repeat some good insights/themes over and over again. At the same time,in love with evolution, he practically skips over trying to explain suffering, the imperfections of this cosmos and other deep mysteries. Many of his challenging insights were left a bit open-ended for me to the point that I wished I lived around the corner from him to be able to ask things like what kind of afterlife does he believe in? He also seems to vacillate as to whether we should move beyond the institutional churches or whether we should re-work them into being prime movers of the Kingom and centers for ritual/liturgies that help stir us in that direction. All in all there's a lot of mind-stretching new ideas about Jesus that do resonate in a new world order that understands how quantum science frees us from a mechanistic world
and leads us to a world of unlimited possibilites as could really pursuing the Kingdom

The Kids Left Behind: Catching Up the Underachieving Children of Poverty examines critical studies on high-performing, high-poverty schools to identify how schools can fulfill the mission of educating all students to proficiency, especially students at risk. The authors identify eight best practices and then further break those down into specific strategies, often using real-life examples from successful schools.

Product Description
From the mid-1950s through the mid-1990s, the Cleveland Indians fielded team after team that just couldn't win. Those forty long years, before the opening of Jacobs Field and the "era of champions," are remembered by many as the "bad old days."
Yet each of those lousy teams had its share of pretty good guys, likeable and colorful young men who earned a spot in fans' hearts, if not the Hall of Fame.
Guys like "Super Joe" Charboneau, whose Rookie of the Year season inspired a nickname, a book, and a theme song, but whose career flamed out fast. Or Gomer Hodge, the former farm boy who went 4-for-4 in his first plate appearances with the Tribe and proudly announced that he had a 4.000 batting average.
Veteran sportswriter Russell Schneider caught up with 45 former Indians players who played in Cleveland during the "bad old days" and found out what they think now about their playing days and their lives after baseball.
There's good-fielding shortstop Duane Kuiper, who was satisfied hitting just one home run in eight seasons because, he said, "Any more than that and people start expecting them." And former knuckleball pitcher Tom Candiotti, who never pitched a no-hitter but did throw a perfect game--as a pro bowler.
"Immortal" Joe Azcue tried hard to live up to his early nickname but whose batting average proved him merely human. And shortstop Frank Duffy considered the Indians of the mid-'70s "just like a happy family" compared to what he found when he was traded to the Boston Red Sox.
Sometimes nostalgic, sometimes tinged with disappointment, often humorous and insightful, their stories will take Tribe fans back to an age before multi-million dollar superstars, when the players were in it for the love of the game.

Book Description
• Was Adam the first test-tube baby?
• Did nuclear fission destroy Sodom and Gomorrah?
• How were the ancients able to accurately describe details about our solar system that are only now being revealed by deep space probes?
The awesome answers are all here, in this important companion volume to The Earth Chronicles series. Having presented evidence of an additional planet as well as voluminous information about the other planets in our solar system, Zecharia Sitchin now shows how the discoveries of modern astrophysics, astronomy, and genetics exactly parallel what has already been revealed in ancient texts regarding the "mysteries" of alchemy and the creation of life. Genesis Revisited is a mind-boggling revelation sure to overturn current theories about the origins of humankind and the solar system.
Customer Reviews:
If life is this boring - who cares where it came from.......2007-08-05
Ho- Hum another boring uninformed book on wishful thinking insanity masquerading as 'scientific'. Save your money.
Face it there's nothing new under the Sun - even Sitchin's narcissistic one!
Genesis Revisited.......2007-03-09
If it's Sitchin it is very thought prevoking and good information of your own growth on the subject of where did we come from.
Fun to think about, but..........2007-01-25
I saw this book as a way of speeding up the process of getting through Sitchin's ideas as the prospect of reading the full series was a bit daunting - and I love to read! My previous experience with his books were of very dense prose not exactly easy to read. Lots of material. This book is a bit quicker and less intense. Not that Sitchin doesn't present his usual evidence and theories. I enjoy allowing my mind to take up his ideas but there always seem to be a point where he makes a jump of reasoning. Not that he's necessarily wrong. It's just that the presentation of evidence doesn't necessarily continue up to the point of making a conclusion. Too bad the book is even now significantly dated in terms of interstellar developments.
Genesis Revisited.......2007-01-12
Another great book by Zachariah Sitchen, I have read all eight books of his Earth chronicles and they are all very mind boggling.
A summary of the Earth Chronicles.......2006-08-27
Sitchin's series of books is time consuming to read. However, this book is a very nice summary of his theories. He summarizes much of what takes pages and pages to present in the books of the Earth Chronicles series. Not sure as to the validity of Sitchin's assertions, but they sure are interesting. Faithful Christians will probably find this book blasphemous. Free thinkers will enjoy it a great deal!!

Simply Christian: Why Christianity Makes Sense
ASIN: 0805427449 |
Book Description
No Debt, No Sweat! shows Christians how to free themselves from the bondage of financial pain. It is written for people who are financially sound and looking for investment strategies as well as people who are in financial turmoil and need a successful plan for getting out of debt. Author Steve Diggs discusses some very serious issues, with a style that is humorous and upbeat. His focus is biblical, while his approach is confessional. No Debt, No Sweat! will teach readers that over-spending is frequently a spiritual issueoften trying to fill the holes in our hearts with stuff. Yet, upon closer examination, readers will see that these holes are shaped exactly like Jesusand nothing else will fill them.

Chanceux d'etre bibliothecaire!.......2004-01-30
Lucky Librarians.......2001-06-07
Libraries take up quite a bit of the Internet, and library science is changing with computer technologies. One way to get to and beyond BASIC INTERNET FOR BUSY LIBRARIANS is checking up-to-date magazines and online resources for cyberadvances and choosing among discussion lists for information professionals, such as LawLib-L, LibRef-L, and PACS-L. Another way is becoming comfortable with library homepages on the web. Still another is making sure continuing education trains with the latest concepts and skills. Yet another is working with search engine producers to index and categorize resource records: search tools try different search techniques to bring about lots of search query matches; yet net searching might be more manageable, organized and predictable if search engines worked with the standardized subject headings and search techniques that librarians use. Laura K. Murray's book gets the job done, along with Pat Ensor's THE CYBRARIAN'S MANUAL, Patricia Iannuzzi's TEACHING INFORMATION LITERACY SKILLS, and Evan Morris' THE BOOKLOVER'S GUIDE TO THE INTERNET.
