Customer Reviews:
Very useful material.......2007-09-15
Extremely useful set of forms and ideas for use in the restaurant industry. It is skewed towards full service restaurants; but still has lots of useful stuff to apply to QSR. Do not expect to find a treatise on training, though. The CD ROM helps to take advantage of the material because it has the full text on pdf format and several of the sections in MS-Word format.
Easily tailored forms and a must for any food service operation.......2007-03-16
Douglas Robert Brown's excellent reference tool is worth every penny and should be in every food service operator's reference library. I have recommended his book for my tea students for the last five years and am pleased to endorse the revised media. From the small tearoom owner to the chain restaurant, Mr. Brown's resource is a valuable tool. Carnelian Rose Tea - Tea Business School - Jennifer Petersen
Must-have for anyone preparing for a career in food service.......2005-02-03

No background knowledge in any trade is needed to grasp explicit instructions ranging from a step-by-step breakdown of the hostess job to the proper order of service for a luncheon handout to how one can go about creating a memorable presentation to food service employees, and much more. A CD-ROM accompanies this absolute must-have for anyone preparing for a career in food service, or charged with the responsibility of training food service recruits.
A Complete package for the Food Service Industry.......2004-06-27
As a long-time user of The Restaurant Managers Handbook by Douglas R. Brown, I have found The Encyclopedia of Restaurant Forms and it's CD Rom to be the most complete and comprehensive selection of forms and ideas for every day and every situation that can or will arise in the food service business.

Customer Reviews:
Just a bunch of forms and no written advice.......2007-03-26
If you are a seasoned veteran with a number of investment properties, then this book might be useful for adding some forms that might cover you in the event of some circumstance. However, the book is not for the beginner looking to get into investment property. While there are many forms, I would probably guess that they should still be looked at by a legal professional before you use them.
No CD Included Hard Copy Only.......2006-12-11
The content of this book is excellent. However it should also include an electronic copy. I tore out each page (they are perforated) and put it in a three ring binder. If you attempt to photocopy the pages you'll need white-out because on the bottom of each page is the number and title of the chapter--very annoying and time consuming. The last page of the book offers you the ability to buy the electronic copy for "half the price" for $49.50. My advice is to skip this book and just buy the e-copy.
Landlard's Kit.......2006-07-01
Excellent book, this was what I needed to start my new Business of propert management, it was simple to read and hit the nail on its head with the correct forms to use.
Thorough and convenient.......2006-06-27
Great reference for the new property manager. Good examples and provides great guidelines.
Useless forms.......2006-01-20
The forms are useless since when you copy them they contain the page numbers and chapter title from which you obtained them from. You can obtain better "legal" forms via softcopy methods(CD-ROM) internet so don't waste your time(trying to doctor the copies) and money on this book.. I will provide you mine for free.

Customer Reviews:
Interesting but low level.......2002-12-18
The book is interesting, but if you are looking for a good book about the warehousing I'd recommend another one. It is the right book if you don't know anything of warehouses and facilities.
This book spends a lot of pages in the Appendix (50%).
Futhermore the regulations are USA ones, so if you don't live in the USA you don't need to know them.
Order this item if you are a novice and order another if you are a logistics executive.
Great for the novice.......2001-09-11
Great for the novice
I was new to the warehouse management and looking for a book to teach me and guide me through the topics, this book did so. The most important feature of the book are the forms, plus you can grab them out of the Plastic Comb an use them right away. The author gives an overview of the warehouse operations and how to handle them for excellence. With this book I took the Inventory Record Accuracy from 20% to 95% in four months, a must for those new to the warehouse operations and standards.
The chapters are as follows:
1.Inventories: Their importance to Business today
2.Warehouse, Leasing, and Storages Cost
3.Logistics Services and Outsourcing Potentials
4.Selecting a Third Party Service Provider
5.Warehousing Operations: Delivery and Storage
6.Other Warehouse Operations
7.The Compliance Manual
8.Performance Standards and Audits
9.Pricing Warehouse Services, Quotations, and Contracts
10.Bar Coding and EDI
11.Packaging: Containers and Methods
12.Liability, Claims and Insurance

Customer Reviews:
Performance appraisals , Great book for Managers.......2007-10-08
A very helpful guide for managers who have the task of doing Performance appraisals , with ready to use appraisal forms! Very helpful for the always busy Manager.
Great for people managers.......2007-02-28
This is a great tool for managers who are responsible for writing performance reviews for their staff. It provides an actionable outline for the performance review process (if your company doesn't already have one). Most importantly, it provides pre-written paragraphs and text to help you articulate how employees exceeded or didn't meet expectations. (Great for those who don't have much experience writing reviews or those who just need some fresh ways to express their thoughts.)
An excellent resource for anyone who wants to create a new performance appraisal system or improve an existing one.......2006-11-05
This is an excellent book, and contains both good advice and practical applications. Readers of this book gain access to online tools that they can begin to use immediately, and which will not only boost the efficiency of their performance reviews, but also their effectiveness.

Customer Reviews:
Good book for non-legal types.......2003-09-17
This is a really good book for a Net Admin such as myself. It explains all the legalese very well and I don't see any aspect of policy that it doesn't touch on. There are lots of great quotes you can put into your own policy document.
The one complaint I read about it being "thin", is somewhat accurate. It's less than 150 pages, but there is a lot great information in those pages. My only complaint is that you will have to type all of the policies into your own document. They are not provided electronically. Add a CD to the book, or a web site where the samples can be downloaded and I'd give 5-stars.
Very Concise and Easy to Follow.......2001-12-28
I like this book. It is very readable, concise, practical and easy to follow. The author has done an excellent work to put this vast field of legal and technical knowlege into a very readable form for average reader in business and management.
10,000 foot view only.......2000-01-04
This is a very general, high level view. Very thin book. Not a lot of meat.
For every CIO, VP, IT's & VP, HR's bookshelf. Recommended........1999-03-20
Provides guidelines for developing policy governing the use of computers, e-mail and the internet. Focuses on reducing legal liability, protecting confidential, proprietary information, and guarding against the waste of information technology resources. Filled with many examples of policies. Includes text of selected laws and regulations and a useful index of sample clauses. Should be on every CIO's, VP, IT and VP, HR's bookshelf. Recommended.
Well worth the money!.......1999-02-09
It's written for the lay person who needs to formulate IT policy. It gives both policy statement examples and background data to permit the reader to formulate policies to suit their business needs. It was exactly what I was looking for.
