Detailed!!.......2006-05-24
Helps you to understand the complexity of marital debt/assets. In doing post-divorce mediation, the aftermath is worse than the initial filing of the divorce petition. Here we have two consenting adults reigning over the financial thrones of the other. Leaving their financial future in the hands of someone bitter will only gain negative results. What makes one think the court order will enforce resolution? The other party may not feel the urge to pay out of malice. This can lead to foreclosures, collection calls, garnishments, jdgements/liens, (ALL in YOUR name!!!) and frustration.
Being obligated on debt/assets and assuming resolution is a narrow-minded field of scope. This book describes the wide range of capacity in which you should consult with your attorney to ensure fair equitable distribution and negotiation. A mediator is usually sought out or court-ordered for disputes such as this.
Support issues such as commingled funds, both spouses' rights to pensions and social security, equitable business, equitable mortgage , child support, spousal support, and other dividends are dissertated in this book.
This book has so much information in it that is very useful to me as a practitioner. Divorcing couples need to get this for the outcome of what is to be.

Great Resource for an Awful Time.......2007-08-22
Kathleen Miller, a practical financial planner, has compiled one of the best and most comprehensive financial resource for women facing divorce. She likens divorce to riding an escalator "once you're on you are going to get off--whether under your own power or by being thrown off by the unrelenting process of the legal system (p. 2)."
Miller takes a tough, no-nonsense, eyes-open approach while holding your hand every step of the way. She divides the process into 5 predictable stages 1) Pre-divorce, 2) Decision, 3) Acceptance, 4) Mourning, 5) Re-Equilibrium. She addresses the various kinds of wives for example the starter wife, the corporate wife, and the alpha earner wife and how each one differs and faces different problems in divorce.
She helps you decide what to do first, shows you how to make an organized plan, what to anticipate and how to navigate through various obtacles. She aims to empower you to take control (to the degree possible) of what can be an overwhelming and unwieldy process. She shows you how to stay focused on moving forward, how to assemble a team to help you through the grueling process, how to choose the type of divorce vehicle that is best for your circumstances, how to cope with change, and most of all--how to avoid poverty. A glossary and appendixes are provided help you understand the not only the basics of finances but also some of its obscurities.
It's a pretty great book for a pretty awful time.
Best divorce book I have read.......2007-04-10
This is the 4th book I've read on divorce. It is very well-written and highly accessible. The author approaches the process in a logical, humane fashion that left me feeling empowered, rather than burdened with list of to-dos.
The author's superb table delineating the phases of a divorce with a timeline makes it relatively easy to form the big picture of what divorce constitutes. She then deconstructs each phase with clear explanations.
After reading the entire book in 2 days, I feel confident in my understanding of what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, and the emotional and legal pitfalls that I need to be aware of.
The flow from chapter to chapter makes for pleasurable reading, an comforting experience when undertaking dissolution of a marriage. Throughout the book, I felt both supported and validated by what I read.
A Must Read for Divorcing Women.......2004-06-02
This book provides detailed information on helping women to understand their financial state. It prompts you to think about all of the essential areas that comprise the development of a financial plan for now and later. It addresses budgets, insurance, QDRO's, retirement planning and so much more. Information is power in divorce and this book helps you to think through and document financial information which will be difficult for someone less prepared to dispute!

A logical & comprehensive guide for both sides of the issue........1999-09-10
I am a noncustodial parent who has made some serious mistakes on my case. While no book can correct these mistakes, I now know how to avoid them in the future & to handle the problems I have now. My mistakes? I paid cash for child support, I lost my job & didn't know I could have the order modified downward, I lost my driver's license before I learned how to make payment arrangements & get it back. All in all, it was a very informative guide & easy to read. I highly recommend it to all parents who have to deal with government child support enforcement agencies.
Misleading in favour of custodial parents.......1999-08-16
It doesn't give any tips for non custodial parent
This is one of the most informative books I've ever read........1999-04-28
As a non-custodial parent this book has been extremely informative. I now know my rights and how this agency operates. It has kept me from making some serious mistakes, and all without consulting an attorney. I've also recommended it to my sister who is a custodial parent since I feel the book does well in covering both sides of the issue. We both give it five stars!
Not at all what it advertises itself to be!.......1999-04-21
This book claims to give tips to both sides, but I found it to be extremely one-sided with very general information! It spends a lot of time on finding a missing father and on tips for the cutodial parent (mother), but it does not have any tips for fathers that are being taken advantage of. The book is very general for those who don't have a clue about child support, but there is very little information for anyone who has been involved in the process or has even started the process.

What sort of contract is marriage? What does it offer the parties? What are the difficulties of enforcement, and the result of failed effective enforcement? This book takes an economic approach to marriage and divorce, considering the key role of 'incentives' in family law: it highlights the possible adverse consequences emanating from faulty legal design, while demonstrating that good family law should provide incentives for consistent and honest behavior. Economists, specialists in the economic analysis of law, and academic lawyers discuss recent advances in specialist work on marriage, cohabitation, and divorce. Chapters are grouped around four topics: the contractual perspectives on marriage commitment; the regulatory framework surrounding divorce; bargaining and commitment issues relating to marriage and near-marriage arrangements; and finally empirical work, which focuses on the impact of more liberal divorce laws. This important new study will be of considerable interest to lawyers, policy-makers and economists concerned with family law.

Book Description
Organizational Identity presents the classic works on organizational identity alongside more current thinking on the issues. Ranging from theoretical contributions to empirical studies, the readings in this volume address the key issues of organizational identity, and show how these issues
have developed through contributions from such diverse fields of study as sociology, psychology, management studies and cultural studies. The readings examine questions such as how organizations understand who they are, why organizations develop a sense of identity and belonging where the
boundaries of identity lie and the implications of postmodern and critical theories' challenges to the concept of identity as deeply-rooted and authentic. Includes work by: Stuart Albert, Mats Alvesson, Blake E. Ashforth, Marilynn B. Brewer, George Cheney, Lars Thoger Christensen, C.H. Cooley, Kevin
G. Corley, Barbara Czarniawska, Janet M. Dukerich, Jane E. Dutton, Kimberly D. Elsbach, Wendi Gardner, Linda E. Ginzela, Dennis A. Gioia, E. Goffman, Karen Golden-Biddle, Mary Jo Hatch, Roderick M. Kramer, Fred Mael, G.H. Mead, Michael G. Pratt, Anat Rafaeli, Hayagreeva Rao, Majken Schultz, Howard
S. Schwartz, Robert I. Sutton, Henri Taijfel, John Turner, David A. Wherren, and Hugh Willmott. Intended to provide easy access to this material for students of organizational identity, it will also be of interest more broadly to students of business, sociology and psychology.
