Book Description
With this companion to Throwing the Perfect Shower, party-givers will find fun ways to make pre-wedding and baby festivities even more fabulous. Here are 128 pages crammed-full of unique themes, games, and activities, as well as full-color photographs that show exactly how to set up the party. Give the bride-to-be a Cookbook Shower, where everyone provides a favorite recipe. Then, mount them in a pretty personalized volume that she'll treasure forever. Host an Initial Shower for an expectant mom, where everything has to start with a designated letter--perhaps "P" for pink. Then the guests can wear polka dots, plaid, and paisley; bring presents such as pajamas; and eat pasta and (cream) puffs. Every one of these ideas will enchant the guest of honor.

Not very impressed........1998-04-13
I purchased this book for fun and unique ideas for a bridal shower, but I found the suggestions to be neither fun nor unique. I was particularly interested in the games section, but the book only gave 3 examples, which I thought were all very lame and juvenile. I think that my 16 year old brother could have come up with better ideas than this book did.

Book Description
What makes a perfect party? Food? Drinks? A host who's constantly fussing over details? NO! For an irresistibly festive gathering, what counts is keeping the energy high and the action going--and to do that, nothing beats competitive games and fun activities that bring everyone together. And, here are more than 100 ideas to choose from, for every type of celebration. Start with pre-party contests and icebreakers that establish the tone and give early arrivals something to do: treasure hunts, guessing games, and skits encourage mingling and laughter. As the jollity builds, move on to more "risqué" challenges, like "To Your Health"--a drinking game. Plus: You'll find party planning checklists, and advice on having it all run smoothly!

Nice ideas for party games.......2007-05-07
Probably better for large crowds & ways to enliven training seminars - you could add a little twist & make the activities "educational." This probably wouldn't go over well with a small crowd.

Great Advice For A Great Time!.......2001-12-20
This book revolutionized my parties. It is chockfull of practical suggestions for organizing a party, energizing your guests and making your party the talk of the town. I love how the author not only suggests great games, but has the games categorized by what kind they are and when they should be played. Lots of helpful advice on how to warm up your group. I was absolutely amazed at how ENTHUSED my guests became the first time I followed her advice and used the games to make them mingle, break the ice, split a part couples, and get them laughing. It is a hoot. Double thumbs up.
Loaded With Fun Ideas.......2000-12-23
If you're not inherently super outgoing but want to invite friends, neighbors, etc. to your home to socialize, this book will give you many, many ideas to choose from on how to create a warm, friendly atmosphere. Most of the icebreaker ideas and party games are practical and fun. This book is also great for school teachers looking for ways to break the ice in their classrooms on those first couple of awkward days. I confidently recommend this book to those of you who want to throw a party or have a get together, but are hesitating out of fear of what to do with your guests. It's truly a fun book and will bring people together.
A Definite Party Maker.......2000-09-28
The main reason I purchased the book was because I was out of ideas for good party games and activites. This book certainly solved that problem. It has a ton of things for great parties, not lame games either that people throw in just to fill space. This thing is 100% usable. And what else is nice its adaptable, and they show you how. Really great book worth every cent and more. I do have one problem with though. I only have one party to do right now and too many ideas !
A must have "Excellent Party Tool".......2000-08-01
It's so hard to get people together, once they are together you want to keep them occupied and happy. This book was my savior. I had fun gathering all of the supplies and making the games as well as playing them.
This is a great game book.......2000-03-17
This book has lots of good ideas and gives ways to adapt them or change them to suit almost anyones needs. In the back, the games are broken down by category (for ex, icebreakers, pre-party games, quiet games, hunts, etc...) and then another section has them organized by name. It has a nice section on party planning, things to think about when throwing a party and motivating guests that will be helpful to any newcomer to party throwing. There are no risque games but lots of them are easily adaptable and can be made less "family oriented" if that is your crowd. The majority of these games are for ADULTS not kids.

Great!! Very Helpful!.......2003-05-02
Ever since I purchased this book, I look at it at least once a month. I have did several parties from the book, and all of them were a hit!! I want to encourage anyone to purchase this book, even if you have never been the "crafty type" its pretty much goof proof!! It has everything from the menu & recipes to the centerpeices & invitations. Happy Shopping!!
NOT THE BOOK TO BUY IF YOU'RE PLANNING A BIG PARTY.......1998-08-30
I was hoping for a book with numerous ideas and on a fair budget. I was planning a summer party for 50 friends and family and was dissapointed that this book had ideas for parties if you want to spend 1000.00 for a party. Some of the recipes and ideas were interesting but not for someone who has little time to make the decorations and all the food as prestented, sorry.
VERY helpful with wonderful recipes!.......1998-06-06
I have given a couple of showers within the last six months (bridal & baby shower) and used several recipes from this book. ALL the recipes that I made from the book got raves & I even got requests for several of them. I consider this my party bible. The ideas are so cleaver. I hope another one comes out with even more ideas & recipes.

Customer Reviews:
Fondant.......2005-07-29
Nearly ever cake in this book requires the use of fondant. So, if you like working with fondant, it's a good book. However, I bought it because it claims to use edible ingredients. Okay, yes fondant is edible, but I like using candy, cookies, etc in creative ways. Making everything out of fondant is boring and not very imaginitive to me, so I didn't like the book.

Quick & Easy Party Book.......2005-01-10
This book offers menu suggestions, craft ideas, decorations and party favors for children's parties. It is a great book that even the amateur can do and it's still entertaining. My son had the pirate party and it turned out great. We copied the pirate hat and made it from construction paper, and the suggested decorations were right on target. It only has 12 party suggestions but everything is included for those 12 parties.
Party Planner for Everyone.......2001-04-04
This book is colorful and bright. The ideas are easy and child friendly. The ideas are easy enough for the birthday children to help 100%.
You have everything you need: a party planner, cake recipes, food ideas, games and activites, party crafts, and even a shopping list.
This is definetly for the party planner impaired. 12 great parties, my only disappointment is that there were not more. Those 12 parties though, were complete, helpful and simple.
If your looking for the extravagent 'Martha' party, this book is not for you, these are parties that anyone and everyone can do.

This new edition of Principles of Information Systems builds on the successful pedagogy of its previous editions and goes the distance to provide a new and highly comprehensive IS textbook.
Customer Reviews:
Great Book.......2007-02-12
This is one of the best information systems books I've ever used. My college course requires this textbook. If anyone is interested to learn about the management of information systems, then this is the perfect book for you.
Good coverage but examples get in the way.......2006-06-26
As expected, this book provides a general overview of information systems, including the nature of information, the components of an information system, how information systems are used in businesses, design and implementation techniques, and security considerations. I appreciate the broad coverage this book offers, as well as the infusion of real-world examples and case studies throughout the book. However, the inclusion of examples gets a little annoying when it interferes with the authors' explanation of a concept. At some points in the book, I felt that the authors included examples that didn't make sense considering what they were trying to explain. Much of the space could have contained a little more in-depth information, rather than the "peppering" of examples that may or may not be relevant. The book provides a good starting place for readers to discover their interests in the field, but the writing style was disappointing.
Textbook for Online Course.......2005-09-11
The speed of delivery to Saudi Arabia was fantastic. I'm currently finishing my degree online and needed this exact book. With the expedited delivery the book was on its way, through customs and into my hands within the week. Thanks!
