This book is a wonderful resource that gives a lot of history on some of the more famous (and infamous) mercenary units out there. It also gives a huge amount of information on how to create your own mercenary unit and run it. Everything from creating a heroic commander, to determining scenarios, to figuring out monthly payroll! It is wonderful!

También es útil en cuanto a la construcción de un contrato mercenario.Muy original. Pero para mi tiene un GRAN defecto(que me ha impedido concederle 4 estrellas): La más de la mitad del libro está dedicada a otras Lanzas mercenarias.Me parece un gran desperdicio.
Great for creating a merc unit........1999-10-09
This book contains very good details about running a merc unit, such as soldier's salaries, contracts, the MRBC, mission pay, potential employers, ect., ect. Details about many aspects of a merc' unit, such as soldier's pay and technichal maintenence could be usful even for a regular house unit. There are still some nagging questions I have, such as: were do I put the supplies (ammo, mech parts, food, ect.) on a raid. Well I don't have any warehouses, so I'll suspend them from my 'mechs, but that will reduce their combat effectivness, so I'll put them in my vehiles. But wait, my dropship doesn't accomodate vehicles! So how the hell do I get supplies on to the planet and salvage off? Also, they could have replaced the commander's influnce rating with the scrounge skill from MWII or MW3. Other than that, it's a great book!
Another fine addition to your Battletech collection.......1999-08-14
I seem to have purchased a earlier issue of this work. Mine shows a different cover then the one shown on Amazon. Its a great addition to the game, listing some 43 mercenary units from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of experience. For the series BT Fan, this is a must have.
Well worth buying.......1998-12-22
This and all the other Field Manuals are well worth it for the amount and quaility of information. Provides great help in creating and looking after any Merc units you want. Small complaint, two of my all time favorite mercenary units the Black Thorns and Comanceo's Cabaleros get only a tiny mention, strange considering that Avanti's Angels are featured in only a single novel and become a A rated command and the Comanceos have 3 novels and the Thorns have two novels and even got a Sourcebook on them.

The book i received has some charts not shown up clearly. Some charts are misplaced in the book like the ones on page 51. The quality of the book (at least the print) doesn't look professional. The content is similar to other case interview books.

Great book. This and Marc Cosentino's book "Case in point" are the only two books you need. I read these books 1 week before my interviews and practiced as suggested and received my offer.

I have read the biggest part of this book, and most of it satisfies my expectations. There are a lot of tips and stories about consulting cases in it. I helped me to understand what to expect for consulting cases and how to prepare them.
I am a bit disappointed about the quality of the book, if you compare it to the price. The book is not very thick, it is made of recycled paper and there are advertorials in it.
Otherwise the inside information is useful, so it is a good thing to buy this book.

I found this guide to be immensely helpful in getting the real story - good, bad and ugly - about the leading consulting firms. The book also has a fascinating new poll/ranking of the 50 most prestigious management consulting firms to work for. (As might be expected, the consultants surveyed rated McKinsey as the #1 most prestigious and BCG as #2). I would highly recommend reading this guide.

Excellent Guide Not Enough Cases.......2001-01-14
This is an excellent book for undergraduates who are looking to prepare themselves for an interview in consulting or finance. I took account a couple years ago and didn't remember everything about it. But this book gives a good review of all the necessary topics that would be needed during an interview. It covers business strategy technics, marketing strategies, and finance related topics. While the review covers half of the book, another tenth is focused on some real interviews from MBA students or other companies. Another quarter is actual case interviews. The author does go through on how to answer these cases. However, the maximum length give to each case was 2 pages. To me, that was not nearly enough for a case. And also, there are only about 15 real cases, there are about 15 practice ones. The last 15 percent is dedicated to guesstimates and brainteasers.
So overall, it's a good book; however, I wish there were more cases.

This book is poorly written, inconsistent, and not very helpful. It's also very overpriced. You might have better luck with another guide (Wetfeet.com). But avoid this as it's a waste of money and time.

Bad walk-throughs.......2000-06-03
This book has some really good explanations of the case interview format, pointers on conduct and overviews of frameworks. However, it had some really bad case examples. The sample solutions given did not seem to follow the clean logical and analytical approach that Wet Feet Press' "15 Cases" displayed for their sample responses. In fact, the answers given in this book are a good example of what to avoid: a lot of flair and big words and not a whole lot of case-solving.

I'm not sure what the last writer meant. This book is the centerpiece of my section here at business school - the writing is great and the info goes deep. As for the binding -- again, I think the last writer is confusing this book with another -- it's a fully bound book.

I bought this book due to all the great reviews I read on it, but I found that it didn't really have all that much info that was different from what you could find at the companies web site, I was also disappointed that it was simply a binded book of copies, not a actual book!!! It did have some good information, but I would suggest just going to the websites of the company
