Great Deck........2007-03-29
I was really surprised at this deck when I first got it and started to look at every single card. This 'New Vision" tarot deck really opened my mind up to the new "looks" of tarot, the meanings and I often said to myself, 'Oh my Gosh, why didnt I think of tht before?'
This deck is good for a novice or an advanced user. Opens up a whole new world of Tarot, the meanings and the pictures on the cards are fantastic.
Good buy. Wish I had found it earlier. Plus it is very accurate for me when I read myself.
Customer Reviews:
This work is an excellent essay on how we view ourselves........1999-07-28
I could not read a page of this work without stopping to think and consider. Highwater's views come painfully close to the truths about our western culture, but, at the same time, they are uplifting because they illuminate the value art has had and still has for all of us. I keep on quoting this author, so I know his ideas must have seeped into my soul and transformed me. The writing is not always crystal clear, and there are errors the editor should have noticed, but my journey through Highwater's vision of vision was worth the effort. If you are strong enough to intellectually challenge what you think you know, then make the effort also.

Unusual deck.......2007-09-03
I personally did not enjoy seeing the images from behind. I much prefer to see the front of the Temperance angel, the Magician etc. I didn't find much was revealed to me from seeing the images from this perspective. The artwork is beautiful but I will not be using this deck for readings.
other side of the story.......2007-03-13
Very similar to the Rider Waite deck from which it evolved, but gives more information on what is happening. By looking behind the players on the cards, more is revealed. Very useful in working with people unfamiliar with tarot and novice readers as there is more information to work with.
Novel Enjoyment, Meaningful Perspective.......2006-09-21
Very enjoyable. Very intriguing. Most of the cards have some little twist -- other than the 180 change rotation in perspective -- like objects or people that are now in view and add and/or color the meaning of the classic RWS images.
The artwork is clean, crisp. The drawings are both refreshingly new and rooted in the now-familiar Pamela Colman Smith imagery. There is a very close attention to detail present in the illustrations to ensure you can't mistake the corresponding RWS card, but likewise you can't help but appreciate the additional details now present in the different angle of view.
Like the original Waite-Smith deck, at first I was intrigued, later I was engrossed. This was a very rewarding purchase and a prized addition to my collection of Tarot decks.
Alternative Tarot.......2006-01-29
You'll perform your readings seeing things from a different perspective. Great for personal transformation or reading people in a comprehensive way. GET THEM!!
The book to this adds rich depth..........2005-08-12
If you like the aged and retro coloring of the Original Waite and want a reviving influence to your Rider-Waite-Smith readings, this could be a refreshing choice.
The book that Lo Scarabeo is publishing as a companion to this deck
treats with respect the art of Pamela Colman Smith and adds ideas that I find refreshing. It's a 153 page book with an absorbing variety of detail and encouragement to the creatie reader.
I like the Tarot of the New Vision's color palette and how it gives a 180-degree view that augments my nostalgic "Original" Waite deck. Sometimes we want a fresh look and a different flavor to our standard reading decks. The Tarot of the New Vision is a fun and different alternative for me.
Happy readings!

Powerful Images.......2007-08-25
I wanted to recommend this tarot deck. It is my favorite. The images are deeply powerful as well as beautiful. I can relate to the idea of water representing the emotional body, as well as fire the energetic body, the air the spirit body, and vegetables and flowers the material realm. The Vision Quest Tarot booklet makes this deck different than other tarots. The definitions are very precise and accurate. I too, like a previous reviewer, usually do one reading about once or twice a year; it is that good. The cards are surrounded by a white framed border. I am ordering another deck to write key words around the frame of the cards for easy and instant interpretation when I read for others.
A Beautiful And Powerful Deck Well Worth Your Investment.......2007-08-11
This deck is beautiful in concept, as well as beautiful in illustration and working. I can only use this deck once a year, as it is SO accurate it makes me a little uncomfortable. However, with the intent of the cards inherent in the pictures, this deck should really be and CAN be used more often. A more experienced practitioner should be able to handle the depth and power of it. I use a three card spread, past-present-future.
The card pictured on the box, the medicine woman card, to ME, unlike one of the other reviewers, IS the most powerful and beautiful card in the deck. (In fact I plan a tattoo of her, changing out the hawk for a raven and adding wolves and an owl). She is particularly powerful in her peace and strength, and should be honored. The shamaness card is powerful, but a little disappointing to me in illustration. She is the only Pacific NorthWest Native American in the deck and I find that a little strange.
This deck is WELL WORTH your money and energy. Its illustrations promote positive contemplation no matter what the issue you are addressing.
My favorite Tarot Deck.......2006-11-05
I recently purchased this deck. I had been using the Faery Wicca Deck. I wanted to work with my Indian ancestors and energies and did not feel the connection I desired with the Wicca deck. The bond was immediate with Vision Quest. It has given me insight and direction in multiple dimensions in my life.
Truly magical.......2005-07-06
The Vision Quest Tarot was created by Gayan Sylvie Winter and Jo Dosé in 1998. It is published by AGM Agmüller in Switzerland, and distributed by U.S. Games in this country.
The seventy-eight card pictures for this deck are all based on themes from the Native American Indian tradition. The artwork depicts Native American Indians engaged in traditional activities, and these pictures serve to define the meanings of the cards.
Each of the pip cards has a single word printed at the bottom, and that is the meaning of the card. The meanings of the Major Arcana and court cards are contained in the instruction booklet.
When I first started using this deck a few years ago, I had mixed feelings about it. I liked the earthly artwork and the spiritual quality of the card meanings, but I had difficulty doing intelligible readings with it.
During the intervening years I discovered the magic of using the combined meanings of Tarot cards dealt in pairs. Typically, I would deal eighteen cards, nine pairs in all. Most of the time, a card meaning would be only one or two or three words long to facilitate combining its meaning with that of another card. In this way, a pair of cards produced a new, systhesized single meaning.
I recently rediscovered the Vision Quest Tarot, and started using it again. This time, however, the cards came alive. Their one-word card meanings were ideal for my eighteen-card layout of nine pairs. As I used the nine-pair layout, I noticed a quality that was missing from other decks I had used in this way. Amazingly, the nine pairs of Vision Quest cards rendered divinations that answered each question in a logical, linear fashion. The systhesized meaning of each pair was like a sentence in a paragraph, with one sentence serving as the foundation for the next. Each pair produced an orderly progression of thought from one pair to the next.
This was astounding. In all the other decks I had used in this way (and there were a few), there was no logical or narrative flow from one pair to the next. The nine pairs of cards would provide a comprehensive answer to the question, but not in a smooth narrative fashion as with the Vision Quest cards.
I have no clue as to why the Vision Quest Tarot alone answers questions in this way, but it does.
With all that said, the relevance of the one-word card meanings is sometimes difficult to comprehend. As with all decks I have ever seen, you will need to use your imagination and intuition to flesh out the meanings of the cards into more fully realized statements.
Stunning!!.......2002-05-10
I think this is the best Native American tarot deck that I have come across. Not only is the artwork beautiful, but it is so peaceful and calming. The pictures are not overdone, or too busy. This is a deck where the tougher cards are not really scary.. but at the same time avoid being "cute" or playing down to the message.. Actually, the death card, "Transformation" in this deck, is captivating to me.. while still getting the message clearly across.. NOT an easy task. There are keywords on the minor arcana.. some people do not like this.. myself usually included. However, here, they somehow seem to blend into the overall meaning of the picture without being distracting. Amazon does not have this deck readily available.. but it is out there.. ...

Lots of religions.
The planet Tarot has the effect of making religion into sometimes literal power of an illusionary sort. How's that? Anyway, being Anthony, it is not all serious treatise (and opens with a quote from Salem's Lot):
"The Naths do not reproduce quite the way we do," she said. "Each Nath is bipart
This book is a great book about religious struggle.......1998-09-28
This book is a page turner, but sometimes you have to put it down and think about what you just read, Taking religious struggle into the realm of futuristic technology, this book definantly has a twist, espicially at the end.

Book Description
Fiction. Re-printed by Dalkey Archive Press. Both comic and haunting, CRYSTAL VISION invokes the world of magic and the arcane as filtered through a group of characters gathered on the streets and in the stores of their Brooklyn neighborhood to gossip, insult, lust, brag, and argue. In a series of seventy-eight short narratives, Gilbert Sorrentino perfectly captures the speech, allusions, and confusion of The Magician, Ritchie, The Arab, Irish Billy, Big Duck, Doc Friday, Fat Frankie, and many others. Through formal inventiveness, Sorrentino liberates these characters from the confines of realism and gives us their world--zany, vulgar, hilarious, and exuberant. "CRYSTAL VISION is a remarkable work of transparence, both artfully faceted in its construction and vital--full of speaking fossils--in the life it remembers"--Thomas LeClair, Washington Post Book World.
Customer Reviews:
brilliant and hilarious.......1999-11-30
how the previous reviewer could give this book one star...oh, never mind. Crystal Vision is as good as Sorrentino's other novels, especially Mulligan Stew, Steelwork, and Imaginative Qualities. Wildly inventive, comic, and deeply depressing all at once, Sorrentino's novel is a masterpiece in the American idiom. Sorrentino's ear for American speech is as good as a great jazz musician's.

If this were the first book I'd read as an adult I'd have stopped reading 30 years ago.

An excellent basic guide to eBay.......2006-06-03
This is an excellent basic guide to buying and selling on eBay. Griff peppers his instruction with plenty of personal stories and anecdotes, has screen shots of what you'll see online in case you're not sitting at your computer while you're reading, and tells you probably more than you need to know to use eBay.
This book delivers what it promises: clear, easy-to-understand instruction on eBay.

GREAT BOOK!!!.......2006-03-10
I read this book and it told me a lot about how to buy and sell items on eBay. It is a great help for anyone. It is very detailed on certain points like: Buy It Now, Bidding, Paying for Items, and many other points. I would definitely reccommend having a copy of this book on hand if you are going to buy or sell items on eBay.
well-written.......2006-01-26
4 stars for fullfilling its intended purposes. One lacking star for apparently disappointing readers for its lacking anticipated business pointers.
This book is obviously targeted toward eBay newbies, and for that purpose it makes a heck of a good job in providing both clarity and motivation. While at the same time being embedded with corporate self-marketing lines without being offensive.
It seems as though the author has retained a centered state of mind while writing this entire book. Even if the topics are basic, such as how to list items and packing items, it's being presented in an entertaining way and may well do a good job in hooking up new members to eBay. It's definitely a helpful place to start.
Since the intentions of the book are ambiguous however (it's not clear wether selling eBay or teaching people how to sell on ebay is the central purpose here), it's also reasonable to contend that level-wise, this is not the best book out there. But the quality of that level is yet high and consistent. Everything that's being taught in the book is easy to grasp and follow, and there's a certain underlying energy in terms of writing style that makes eBay selling look fun. Because of that this book does a very good job in marketing eBay (both as a selling enterprise, and its individual services) and in convincing readers to sign up for their own accounts. That's not an easy balance to achieve without being a hypocrite. But the author even promotes environmental responsibilites, which kind of defies the notion of being a hypocrite, such as being a mere greedy prick behind the smile. It's more than that.
So this is a good book, not only content-wise, but also motivation-wise.
Very basic. Good for beginners........2005-04-02
The book is very basic, along the lines of the Dummies series. There is a screenshot of everything, which makes the book long. If you are just starting out, the book is good because it is comprehensive. However, there is a high percentage of garbage in the book, such as detailed instructions on how to bookmark a page in a Web browser, and a couple chapters on how to write HTML. The book is mainly a how-to book, not a book with many advanced selling and buying tips.
After reading the top eBay books, below are my recommendations:
---Beginner with eBay and computers---
1. The Official eBay Bible
---eBay Seller---
1. Sell it on eBay
2. eBay Hacks
---Full-Time eBay Business (not for the casual seller)---
1. eBay Strategies
2. eBay Business the Smart Way
VISIT EBAY AND FORGET THE BOOK.......2005-01-24
Unless you are absolutely..and do mean ABSOLUTELY, completely new to eBay and have never even navigated the site, then this book might be somewhat useful. It instructs you on all you need to know about such as searching eBay, bidding, buying, paying, selling items, setting up your own eBay storefront, security and resolving issues, etc...it is a wealth of information.
But if you've been an eBay user, you already know most of this information already. There aren't any buried secrets to be found in the book. No "get rich quick" magic pill ideas. The fact is that all of this information and a LOT more can be found on the eBay site itself. EBay has done a marvelous job of putting all of this information on their website. You need only visit the help links to go to screens that will provide everything you need to know about bidding and buying.
Then there's the vast links of various sellers tools that teach you all about listing items, taking and uploading pictures, accepting payments, etc. What's made eBay so popular is the fact that is really is so very easy, step-by-step to use and anytime you get hung up there are a vast array of help screens, message boards, even Live, one-on-one help chats with eBay personnel you can use to help.
Perhaps it's nice having all of this info in one convenient play as opposed to navigating a lot of onscreen pages, but once you know where to get answers there's really not much need for the book.
