Book Description
What happens in the Mansion, doesn't stay in the Mansion!
How did I get here? I was raised a nice Catholic girl in Ontario, Canada. I am an only child whose parents lavished their attention and resources on me. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree and a law degree, and I'm studying to take the California bar. I am comfortable with my own sexuality, responsible for my own orgasm, and have never been sexually or emotionally abused. And yet for two years, I lived at the infamous Playboy Mansion, rolled in a posse of seven succulent beauties, and was a co-girlfriend of the father of the sexual revolution and the world's largest living hedonist.
What is wrong with this picture?
The Bunnies. The Girlfriends. The Mansion. The Grotto. The Myth. The Man. The Fantasy. The Reality.
Izabella St. James left colder climes for the beaches of Malibu. Young, blond, and pretty, she was looking for fun, and the SoCal nightlife was a powerful magnet. Out clubbing one night, she met Hugh Hefner and his friends. Beyond the silk robe and age-proof good looks, Hugh was a genial man who invited Izabella to join his group of friends and then to move into the world-famous Mansion as one of Hef's girlfriends. (Plural.)
Bunny Tales is Izabella's storyof a party girl who discovered what work it is to play all the time. Plastic surgery, gorgeous clothes, cool cars, and a generous weekly allowance are the perks of Mansion life, but Hef's girlfriends are a clique, a sorority, a group of best buds, and bitter rivals, the worst of high school in an adult party circuit.
Izabella was witness to the growing pains of an empireand legendbuilt on a revolution long over. Like the best relationships, Bunny Tales is honest and fun, revealing and real, satisfying and surprising.

Slow starter however it tells all you wanted to know.......2007-09-21
The first part of the book was a slow start. All I was interested in was the details about the girlfriends and the day to day life in the mansion. It does get to that part later and was enough to satisfy my curiosity. It also answered many questions I had about the 3 current girlfriends in the house. If you like the show and you want to know, just read the book. I thought Izabella did a nice job telling the details in a nice way. How else can you explain the details of that type of living situation without smearing anyone? It is just how I thought it would be at the mansion. Izabella is absolutely gorgeous and has self respect which is more than I can say for the current girlfriends of which I am not a fan of. I do like the show but they should call it "gold diggers"!!!!
Bunny Tales.......2007-09-18
This was a great book if you want a little more insight into the playboy mansion. I watch the Girls Next Door on E! and since I have started watching I have wanted to know some more secrets of Hugh Hefner, his girlfriends, and Playboy. I have heard and read a lot of things before reading this book, but things are clarified. I think if you want to know more about Playboy and what life is really like, this book will provide that.
Wonderful Book.......2007-08-29
I don't feel sorry for Hefner, he's got plenty of dough and wants to do the right thing with it before he dies. Spend it all on that wonderful entity called ......"himself". I got to say I never felt like he was someone to laugh at but this book does it. An 80 year old "swinger" purchasing 20 year old girlfriends and thinking he's still looking "cool". What a clown. All that money and he wastes it on hookers that mock him behind his back.
Thanks Hef, you taught me something, hedonism isn't all it's cracked up to be and you must be one first class jerk to draw in flies like this author.
The only shocking thing is this girl's disdain.......2007-08-24
I think that there have been a lot of in-depth reviews of this book, both on this site and others, so I will just get to the point in this review:
1)For someone who continually touts her education, she obviously must not have paid much attention in grammar. Were they in such a hurry to get the book out that they skipped an editor altogether? There are so many errors that it takes reading some paragraphs twice to get what she was trying to say!
2)I found it absolutely amazing that she would talk herself up as being so loyal to Hef in one sentence, then say how she laughed at him behind his back the next. It is hard to explain without using specific instances that would spoil it, but that was a consistant theme throughout the book. She would praise him and then trash him for the exact same things! She not only sounds like an ungrateful brat now, but her memoirs show that she was an ungrateful brat all the time.
3)Gee, bitter? She tries to make herself out as some kind of victim with the other girls, but she very clearly has just as bad of attitude as the girls whom she is trashing, if not worse. She at least should have reviewed what she was slamming the other girls for before she went and wrote about her doing the exact same thing.
4)Nothing here is shocking. It's not like we are reading about a politician with a squeaky clean record here-We are reading about Hugh Hefner. Although some of the descriptions are disgusting, she did all of that for two years. She acts like she was so shocked and appalled in the bedroom, but she admits that she participated (of course with a it wasn't her fault attitude) in it all.
I would say that it would have been a light, easy read had she been a better writer and not have been so obviously self-centered. The basic information is interesting and gives a lot more insight into the Mansion, but do not expect it to read like someone with as much of an education as she claims to have.
Really nothing new.......2007-08-20
I didn't think there was anything really all that earth shattering in this book. I think we all figured this is what went on. I think she is jealous of the girls that are still his girlfriends. That is she isn't on the show. I also think more women as girlfriends would lead to more problems that just having a couple of them. I think that Hef is a very generous person. It is shame that people use him as they do. I wouldn't waste my time reading this book.

Great Look Into the Glory Years of The Playboy Mansion.......2007-01-05
Much like the TV show "Playboy After Dark" this book gives one a real look into the glory days of the Playboy Lifestyle and specifically the Playboy Mansion. Although more of a coffee table book, the pictures and even the plans to the "original" bachelor pad that Hefner planned to build, are also included. The pictures and the memories included in this book are facinating.
A very wierd book.......2002-08-25
Inside the Playboy Mansion starts out really great. Shows the lifestyle most young bachelors want for themselves by showing how Hef entertained at his Chicago mansion in the 60s. Lots of socializing with very important figures of the day plus all the beautiful women these young men would want. As the book progresses throughout the decades(that's how "Inside" is divided), it's starts looking like a very uninspiringly put together society page from a newspaper. Ho-hum pictures with Hefner and celebrities. Don't get me wrong, the book also has some great shots of the most important playmates ever, especially Barbi Benton which was possibly the cutest playmate ever.
However, the thing that bothered me the most about "Inside" was the last part, were Hefner marries Kimberly Conrad and they have two boys. Totally wierd. All the baby & family pictures just didn't fit. I mean, its starts out as this great sexy book and then it turns into a freaking family album, COME ON!
An execellent journey of the famed Playboy Mansion.......2000-08-21
This is such an interesting book both in photographs and the stories behind each of the Chicago and "Hollywood" mansions that Hef has lived in. From the early 1960's where the food and the women were abundant listening to the Beatles, The Rolling Stones and even Frank Sinatra, the Chicago Playboy Mansion was definitely the social scene of the early-mid 1960's and 1970's. Even the Playboy Bunny's had special rooms upstairs in the mansion where they paid rent to live (although very inexpensive rent due to the genorosity of Hef). Now the Playboy Mansion West is the social scene in the 1990's. The heyday's of the 1960's 1970's and 1990's (the 1980s were a down period for the mansion, also Hef was married to Kimberly Conrad so the 1980's were a quiet time at the Mansion) are shown in excellent photographic detail, and yes Hef rightly so, is the spotlight and focus of this book since he is the creator not only of Playboy Magazine but also the Playboy lifestyle.
From Chicago Hef moved to California and started the Playboy Mansion West (still the place to go for Hollywood's elite) and every Playboy fans fantasy is to visit the mansion and meet Hef himself. From the Grotto to the movie room each room gives a glimpse of what a tour would be like and what it would also be like to live there. The party's, the movie nights, and even the petting zoo are shown. This book is a result of many fans of Hef and Playboy asking him what his everyday life is like behind the scene's at the mansion.
I congratulate Hugh M. Hefner for starting the vision of Playboy, which not only showcases beautiful women from around the world, but also gives them the opportunity to take that experience and make it an opportunity. Alot of feminists and people may not agree with Hef's philosophy and lifestyle, but that is what makes Playboy great. The Playboy forum and letter's to the editor gives people and readers of Playboy Magazine a chance to voice their opinion if to agree or disagree, Hef believes in the right for people to make their own choice and express it. That is one of the purposes of Playboy, the freedom to express yourself, as long as it does not hurt or damage others.
Thank you Hef for allowing your fans to appreciate the scenes of the Playboy Mansion and what has happened there over the years, (what I wouldnt give to go to a Midsummer's Night Dream Party or to Hefs movie nights!) This is a great book to all fans of Playboy and the immortal Hugh M. Hefner.
Figures of 20th century: Hugh Hefner.......2000-04-28
Truely one of the great masterworks of the late 20th century. In years to come will be an essential classic for the whole family. Many interesting pictures.
How Much "Hef" Can You Take?.......1999-02-03
This big, candy-colored book suffers from so much merciless knee-bending to the great lord of the manor--Hef, Hef, Hef--as if he were some sort of god. (And you just thought he published dirty books.) Indeed, you begin to think the main activity at the mansions must have been butt-kissing. This book was penned by longtime Playboy staffer Gretchen Edgren, with Playboy's full cooperation, so don't expect any details on the very real toll this silly, hedonistic life ultimately had on some of the participants. What's most amusing is that Hugh Hefner seems the anomaly in his own surroundings, a small, unglamorous, goofy looking guy surrounded by A-list celebrities and tantalizing vixens. He seems plucked out of a James Thurber short story, a Walter Mitty, transported from his accounting cubicle to a life of carnal overkill. One outtake photo included actually shows Hefner's large , exposed behind in the famed grotto. Also, interestingly, is a very unflattering photo of Kimberley Hefner, the Playmate For A Lifetime, who is now estranged from her husband. A most rosy postcard from Chicago and Holmby Hills.

"
You are six years old. Every day after school your father takes you to a sprawling castle filled with exotic animals, bowls of candy, and half-naked women catering to your every need.
You have your own room. You have new friends. You have an uncle Hef who's always there for you.
Welcome to the world of
Playground, the true story of a young girl who grew up inside the Playboy Mansion. By the time she was fourteen, she'd done countless drugs, had a secret affair with Hef's girlfriend, and was already losing her grip on reality. Schoolwork, family, and ""ordinary people"" had no meaning behind the iron gates of the Mansion, where celebrities frolicked, pool parties abounded, and her own father -- Hugh Hefner's personal physician and best friend, the man nicknamed ""Dr. Feel Good"" -- typically held court.
Every day was a party, every night was an adventure, and through it all was a young girl falling faster and faster down the rabbit hole -- trying desperately hard not to get lost.

Very Disturbing Story.......2007-08-20
This is a very disturbing story. It could have dug in deeper into the story line. But, It did give you a idea of what she was dealing with. It really sad that she got into drugs and having sex at such a young age. It is sad & disturbing that she didn't really have parental support. That she was able to do the things that she did. When I got done, I didn't really learn anything new. Just that this little girl was able to have this terrible life.
beach book.......2007-08-10
this book is good for the beach. the author tells you about the hard life of drugs, sex and playboy bunnies. This book gave me an insight on what it is like in the playboy manison. now when i look at the parties in the manison that they throw I know what the scene is like. The author tries really hard to write about her self discovery but she really didnt have much of a discovery. Most of the book is about confused life with playboy kendra and her relationship with her father. Basically the same kind of thing you see on the news about lindsay nowadays.
Enticing.......2007-06-09
This book gives, yes one side of the story to the Playboy Mansion but it gives a really good view. This book had me riveted from the first chapter!!! Definetly a good read and will recommend it to everyone I know!!!!
This book is a perfect example...........2007-05-31
...of the phrase, "the banality of evil": poorly written, about stupid people, and with no insight.
Worst of all, the author fails to consider the real source of her problems: herself.
I, also, would give it a zero of I could.
If I could give it 10 Stars I would!.......2007-05-25
This was one of the most insightful books I have ever read. What an interesting life Jennifer Saginor lead and what insight she gave to the Playboy Years at the Mansion. With children of my own, it was very disturbing to read what she was exposed to at such a young age- Wow! But, having said that, what she described- the sex, drugs, celebrity etc was amazing. I thought it very poignant when she described playing hide-no-go-seek with Dorothy Stratton just a week before her murder. I thought that Jennifer did a great, great job on this book while maintaining the mystery and respect of Hugh and his empire.

Not a lot of help..........2007-10-01
The Playboy Mansion hint book was not very helpful to me. Here is why. Much of the book is on story mode. While I found it helpful in explaining how the game works, the free style section was tiny when compared to the chapters on how the missions work. But I don't play story mode. So, while parts were helpful, the book didn't help me improve my games. Much of it was easy to figure out just by diving into the game.
Also, I have heard many of the missions of the story mode are impossible to play - which means, if correct, story mode only goes so far before becoming a dead end.
My review.......2007-04-15
If you have the game this book is very helpful.
I have learned a few things about the game that I missed or didn't do when I first played
Very close to being a rip-off........2005-04-04
I'm going to be very blunt here. This book simply doesn't make the cut. Granted that Playboy: The Mansion is an easy game which is at the same time, rather repetitive, the level of details in this guide is not what I'd expect paying $15 for. In fact, I could get stronger fan-written walkthroughs from various game sites on the internet. Yes, it's that bad.
Apart from being skeletal, I also noticed a few errors in this guide. Firstly, if you've played the game, you should know that completing objectives and missions gives you bonus points or other rewards. Some of these rewards are wrongly listed in the guide.
Secondly, the screenshots. The images are obviously taken from the PC version of the game, which is not an issue. However, for the three bonus missions exclusive only to PS2 players, the screenshots are merely generic images from previous missions. These give a really cheap feel to the book. Surely, if you're writing a guide to sell for money, you should at least provide some real screenshots? What happened to integrity?
Thirdly, redundancy. Journalists, photgraphers and some celebrities are randomly included in each game. In fact, the names are also randomiized. For example, a certain "Desiree Carver" could be a journalist in one game, and a Playmate in another. Why then, would the book waste pages "recommending" randonmized characters? And, on the subject of listing characters, some of the non-randomized characters have wrong pictures beside them.
The only good thing about this book is that it provides a rather extensive list of items you can build and purchase. At least, it scores some points for details to compensate for the weak walkthrough. Still, I'm not entirely bothered with the effects that furniture and doors have on the game. To be honest, you will only be buying a few items, and the effects of these items are listed prominently in the game itself. But I'm trying to be nice.
Still, in conclusion, steer clear of this.

But down he comes with a huge CRASH! "You're not a giraffe. You're a wobbly pig on stilts," Zebra tells Pig. But now, Pig sees Zebra's stripes, and this gives him another clever idea, which leads to a brand-new disaster. Every time Pig sees a different animal, he's inspired to concoct a new catastrophe! Will Pig ever get it right? Will he ever start having fun? Very young boys and girls will laugh with delight as they reach the story's end and discover the answer to this question. The author's funny, full-color illustrations brighten every page. (Ages 2-7)

Get Ready for an Adventure!.......2005-09-06
My 4 yr old granddaughter loves this book--and so do I! In fact, I plan to purchase it for a Christmas gift for my 6 yr old granddaughter who lives in California.
The illustrations are wonderful and funny and the word patterns in the story allow very young children to anticipate what is coming next. The repetition of these word patterns is a pre-reading step for kids and this one is a lot of fun.
My 6 yr old gd will love the pictures and the words and the humor of it all. No doubt she will draw some of her own pictures to go along with the story--one of her favorite activities these days.
I love this book.......2002-11-15
My son is 3 years old and he loves this book. And I do not mind reading this one over and over again. It is easy to read and entertaining.
