5 out of 5 stars A Must for ALL Movie Buffs............2005-08-12

I have been buying and collecting John Willis' Screen World's since 1980...and have to say that they are a MUST for any film buffs book collection. Screen World comes out once a year, and is like an annual Year Book full of pictures, a listing of all of the previous years movies, who starred in them, important facts about the movie...an info section about current celebrities;such as name, date of birth. My favovite section is placed at the end of the book, which lists all of the current stars who passed away the previous year. This book is very informative and I truly recommend it to all who really enjoy movies.

5 out of 5 stars Getting better all the time.......2005-07-24

Screen World Volume 55:2004 continues the great tradition of past years. I have been buying this annual movie extravaganza since 1981. It is gives you a synopsis of every movie plot made in the year, a sampling of great pictures, the Academy Award nominations and winners, the box office champions, the obituaries of movie actors and actresses plus biographical information about all major and many minor living actors and actresses. I look forward to each new edition. It is always a special treat to read the newest one or go back and look at the old ones. The book is a must for lovers of motion pictures. You will not be disappointed by this star-studded keepsake.

5 out of 5 stars excellent source.......2005-07-24

      5 out of 5 stars Excellent.......1999-12-23

When I landed a job teaching music, I found myself in the middle of an elemenary school chorus, grades 1 through 6. In college, we were taught how to teach middle school/high school students. I had no idea what would be appropriate for elementary students. Thank goodness I found this little gem of a book. A complete, concise guide with so much help and information! Everything from voice ranges to vocal warm ups to diction and much, much more!

4 out of 5 stars A good book for school teachers - a sensitive approach........2004-08-23

Pathways assists teachers in running their daily music programs. There are lists of practical ideas, and ideas for doing things like taking roll to rehearsing - and everything in between. Depending on your teaching experience you may want to skip some of the information, for example a veteran teacher might want to focus more on creating music at a high level, while a new teacher might focus more on rehearsal technique. I used some of the techniques in this book in my class and found them to be effective and indeed they helped my students improve. Overall this book is good!

5 out of 5 stars Should Be Required Reading For Any Teacher.......2004-04-19

Simple, easy to use ideas and strategies that address real-life in-the-classroom issues of student motivation, attrition, and creating enjoyable and energetic learning environments. I have been using only a small handful of ideas and strategies listed in this book (about 5 of them right now out of thousands) and it has made a noticeable difference in my classes. This book should be required reading for any music education major, beginning or veteran teacher. IT'S THAT GOOD!!!

The book is not preachy or touchy-feely at all. It's just full of awesome ideas and really gets to the heart of what makes students tick. Worth it's weight in gold!

          5 out of 5 stars good book.......2002-11-30

A must read. Anyone searching for that positive influencial attitude in affecting their students should read this and apply the techniques. Believe me, this book will inspire the most jaded of teachers.
