Book Description
It's the edgy gift book for every unmarried woman who's fending off her nudgy mother and overly concerned (over-bearing?) friend, who can't go to a holiday dinner, class reunion, shower or wedding without hearing the usual round of questions. Something like So, why aren't you married yet? Or sometimes, Still not found that special someone? Or any variation thereof.
Delightful, irreverent, and witty, Even God is Single, So Stop Giving Me a Hard Time is an affirmation for every girl who's single and loving it. Even God is Single is strong, sexy, smart, and edgy. And joyous-it celebrates singlehood, just as it pays homage to the self-assured and savvy woman who knows that you're not half a person just because you're not half a couple.
Even God is Single asks is it "monogamy" or "monotony?" Shows that given the 50% divorce rate, you haven't missed out on marriage, you just skipped a few divorces. And fearlessly examines the role models. Married? Frankenstein, Linda Tripp, and 20,000 Moonies. Single? Catwoman, Superwoman--and, of course, God.
Customer Reviews:
Disappointing.......2007-05-09
This is not so much a book as a hard bound pamphlet. No substance to speak of and zero depth. Disappointing in that yet another book takes a flippant approach to singleness and Christianity.
Great Pick Me Up.......2005-11-04
Even God is Single is a wonderfully irreverent look at all the reasons why being single is not the end of the world and may even be a plus. Not only is it well written but the illustrations are fabulous. Never let anyone dare question your single status again. Buy the book if you or a friend needs a good laugh.
Let Me Be ..........2003-01-26
Let me be single. I do not want to get married. Thank you for this fun and interesting book.
Short and Sweet.......2003-01-17
This one is shorter than most of Karen Salmansohn's books, but it certainly is sweet. Marriage is not the be-all and end-all of life in the 21st Century !! Of course, if you do want to change your status, check out her new book for 2003 -- "How To Change Your Entire Life By Doing Absolutely Nothing" -- which I also enjoyed very much. Perceptive humor can be good for you.
A silly,unamusing book.......2002-04-24
I dont understand why any man would want to do the illustrations for Karen Salmansohns books.I personally am so repulsed by this woman I would want nothing to do with any of her projects. This book isnt any better than her other books, theyre all worthy of only one star reviews.

Help! I'm in the wrong job!.......2000-10-06
I wish I were ready for this book years ago! Lee and Larry start by describing the workplace and how it is changing (surprisingly accurate for being published in 1993). Next they define what work is and help us understand why so many people are in the situations they are in. Then comes the fun part...identifying your skills, interests, personality and applying them to a career that fits you. Lastly they teach you how to conduct a job search, prepare your resume and how to manage you finances.
The book is an excellent resource in itself. However, the companion workbook is a must in order to get the full benefit of the program.
Book Description
SPANISH EDITION. The author of one of the worldwide best-selling business books and the founder of a successful fast food company unite forces to introduce readers throughout the world to the joy of generously giving of your time, talent and resources to transform your environment, business, office, country and, above all, to be transformed within. This can be accomplished through the application of a Biblical principle taught by the Lord Jesus Himself, "The Generosity Factor". “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” (Acts 20:35). Relying on the use of metaphors referring to characters or roles as the Executive, the Assistant, the Chauffeur and the Intermediary – the authors take the reader through the various stages and results of daring to do much more for others than what the world expects.

Heart-Warming.......2006-06-25
A wonderful way to view the world, and to make a difference. Many examples of small ways we can improve our world. Written with love and caring.
This Book Means Alot To Me.......2006-04-28
My mother gave me this book in high school back in the 1970's. I fell in love with it then and have read it many times over the last 30 years. David Dunn discusses "giving yourself away" in a genuine way to others by little things you can do every day.
Giving someone a compliment, noticing good things that someone else has done, dropping a card or note to someone with an article or idea, even if you don't know the person...so many little things that can be done to enrich your life and others.
Anybody who reads this book and does the little things every day that Mr. Dunn suggests, will be greatly enhancing their own life.
This book makes a wonderful gift for high school grads but any adult would enjoy this book and be the better for having read it.
Great Message.......2004-02-14
David Dunn captures the essance of what humans strive for in perfecting our race. By giving yourself away you gain the greatest gift of all. It's all about heart, and sharing ours, and he captures the very core of the matter in this delicious story. I found the book, or shall I say it found me, just when I needed to remember that the greatest thing we give is ourself & our attention to anyone or anything. Blessings to this author for getting it & sharing it so wonderfully!
Simple Yet Effective.......2001-04-03
I have kept this book as a favorite in my library for the last 10 years. It offers ways we can give more of ourselves without dipping into a piggy-bank or feeling taken advantage of. I highly recommend reading this little book! It is a quick read with humor, joy and love springing from each page. The book was written in the 1940s and the principles still apply to today's society. That alone tells of the truths offered within its pages. PositiveResults.com
The title says it all!.......2000-04-11
I first heard a reference to the book in a sermon, so I went looking for it. David Dunn writes delightfully of the various ways he has brought joy to the lives of others by simply thinking of and acting upon ways to serve others. If we would follow the principles set forth in this little volume, the world would be a much happier place.
Book Description
The message of stewardship invites us to give our time, talent, and treasure in gratitude for our abundant blessings. Fostering grateful caretakers in parishes is an ongoing task that requires vision, courage, and trust. In Grateful Caretakers of God's Many Gifts, the first major revision of Joseph Champlin's ground-breaking sacrificial giving program, Father Champlin continues to encourage the sharing of treasure, time, and talent--transforming parishioners into grateful caretakers of God's many gifts.
Grateful Caretakers of God's Many Gifts provides a theological and biblical basis for stewardship and gives detailed guidance for sharing time, talent, and treasure. It also offers the history, foundational principles, and implementation steps for sacrificial giving, a form of stewardship. The manual likewise provides a wealth of material for sustaining and strengthening grateful caretaking in a parish on a long-term basis. It offers practical suggestions on a number of special issues in stewardship including accountability, annual renewals, customized direct deposit of Sunday offerings, planned giving and parish stewardship councils, and training our youth to share.
Father Champlin shows that the sacrificial giving process effectively supports grateful caretakers of God's gifts: people in the parish willing to share significantly their time, talent, and treasure for the Church and the world. It has been proven in practice, is biblically and theologically sound, actively involves lay persons, touches the hearts of parishioners, is uncomplicated and inexpensive to implement, produces impressive short-term results, and provides long-term possibilities.
Grateful Caretakers of God's Many Gifts builds on Father Champlin's original sacrificial giving publications in both the theory and practice of how to motivate parishioners to become active stewards of their faith. It has on-going value for those concerned about fostering grateful caretaking in a parish.
Chapters include "A Theology of Grateful Sacrificial Giving and Responsible Caretaking," "Biblical Bases for Grateful Caretaking and Sacrificial Giving," "Sharing Time and Talent," "Sharing Treasure," "Evaluating and Introducing Sacrificial Giving," "Communicating the Stewardship Message," "Preaching and Celebrating Grateful Caretaking," "Renewals, Accountability, Training our Youth, Direct Deposit, Planned Giving and Parish Stewardship Councils." Appendix I: "Supportive Materials." Appendix II: "Success Stories."
Includes the following sample documents: Annual Parish Financial Report, Sample Envelope, Sample of Sacrificial Giving Report, and Bills Paid Section Bulletin.

Customer Reviews:
One of the best Christmas Romance Anthologies out there!.......2005-10-22
From the back cover:
An American Country Christmas
These heartwarming, all-American stories from five beloved authors capture all the passion, joy, and rich rural tradition of the holiday season across the nation. Patricia Rice spins a dramatic tale of romance lost and found in the bluegrass country of Kentucky. Jodi Thomas tells of a Texas tomboy who gets more than she bargained for under the mistletoe. Upstate New York is the setting of Raine Cantrell's moving Civil War story. Emily Bradshaw fills us with the spirit of the season--Western style--in her wonderful tale of a woman who melts the frostbitten heart of the man who rescues her from a Christmas blizzard, and Karen Harper paints a chaming picture of old-fashioned love from America's heartland. Filled with hope and heartbreak, touching reunion and tender devotion, this exquisite collection proves that love burns so much brighter when the heart comes home for Christmas.
And my review:
This is one of the very few Christmas romance anthologies that I bought brand-new, but it was well worth the money. While some stories were better than others (as is always the case with these collections) there were no "stinkers" in this book. And no sex scenes either, so you could let your teenage daughter read this.
1) A Husband for Holly by Jodi Thomas
This was my first sampling of her work, and I was quite impressed. She does an excellent job of weaving in historical detail without detracting from the story. Four stars.
2) Friends are Forever by Patricia Rice
Not the best one of the bunch, but still enjoyable. I liked the author's portrayal of mountain life. The romance was not quite as intense as it could have been, but it was an entertaining read. Three stars.
3) The Gift by Emily Bradshaw
Hands down, the best novella of the bunch, and one of my favorite Christmas stories. This is one that I read every single year without fail. I've read some of this author's full-length work since this story, but this one is still the best thing she's written, in my humble opinion. Not many authors can do a good job of balancing romance, Christmas, a touch of the paranormal, and an amnesia plot (which never felt contrived) but this author did it. If you read no other romance at Christmastime, read this one! (More than) five stars.
4) A Time for Giving by Raine Cantrell
Another sweet story. I've tried one of this author's other full-length novels, but my interest fizzled out halfway through. But this story was very touching, and worth a re-read. Four stars.
5) O Christmas Tree by Karen Harper
Another good story. Not as good as some of her other works, but still enjoyable. If you want a really good Christmas story by Karen Harper, check out "Promises to Keep", which is a Civil war Christmas romance. I liked her portrayal of the emmigrated German family, and the heroine's struggles to balance her heritage with her need to fit in as an American. Four stars.
For once, an anthology where every single story was worth reading (and some for re-reading!). Very rare these days. This is one that I'll never get rid of. I won't even lend it out, because I know I won't get it back. (Smile) Highly recommended!
Very Entertaining!.......2000-03-31
I really enjoyed this book. I have purchased copies to share with family and friends. I enjoyed the relationships that took place between the men and women. This book contained no sex, so my 13 year old daughter could read this book. I can't give enough praise to the authors of this book but, I will read this book every Christmas and it will remain on my shelf as one of my favorites.

Truly heart-warming!.......2000-01-03
I really enjoyed every one of the stories in this collection. I kept reading and re-reading "The Gift" by Emily Bradshaw. Another pregnant woman in a blizzard, but this time our heroine can't remember who she is or where she's from (and it's better off forgotten, anyway). But she changes the lives of the father and son who find her and she and her daughter charm their ways into a whole new life. I just loved it! "A Husband for Holly" by Jodi Thomas was enchanting! And Raine Cantrell's "A Time for Giving" was also a delight I read more than once.
