It reviews a wide range of related work in both fields and proposes new approaches to choice theory, rationality, and interaction ("equilibrium") that are consistent with the limited cognitive capacity of real human beings. While joining with neoclassical economics in supporting the validity of supply-and-demand theory where it is literally applicable, McCain challenges most neoclassical theory, especially monopoly, oligopoly, and general equilibrium theory and welfare economics. His work aims to further and unite recent notions of behavioral and social economics. This important work will be of interest to behavioral, social, and Keynesian economists, as well as other social scientists and philosophers interested in economic phenomena.

Description:
The EU Water Framework Directive requires the involvement and participation of stakeholders and the public, and considers full cost recovery for water services for enhancing the sustainability of water resource management. The Directive is non prescriptive as to how public participation should be operationalised in practice, and Member States appear to be adopting different participatory practices. This study explores the issue of public participation in the context of the Pinios River Basin in Greece, a pilot area for the WFD implementation. The study uses Fuzzy Cognitive Mapping, a form of qualitative modeling linked to stakeholders' perceptions. Fuzzy Cognitive Mapping has been used to elicit stakeholder and public perceptions on the current state and pressures on water resources and the acceptability of applying economic principles in water resource management. Based on these perceptions, different water management policy options have been simulated in order to explore their potential effects on the water resources and the economy of the area. The study outlines public and stakeholder perceptions on the application of full cost recovery for water services and offers a perspective on the potential contribution of Fuzzy Cognitive Mapping in participatory river basin management.

Although it is a good read, I find the content of the book is a little bit out-of-date. If you want to know the answer to this question, Doing Business in 2004 is your book.
Various eminent scholars have put forth theories as to why the rich countries get richer and the poor stay poor, including theories about culture, religion, geography, climate, trade openness, political regimes, and even accidents of history. Doing Business puts forth a compelling, and much simpler, story. Poor countries stay poor because their governments intervene excessively in business activity, driving entrepreneurs into informality. Growth is retarded, as is democracy, since many people are left in the fringes of economic and social life.
Lots of statistics on starting a business, hiring and firing workers, getting credit, and the like. Makes you appreciate how easy we have it here!
