Good motivational tool.......2002-07-30
This book gave me a good look at the process (in short) that many of these individuals had to go through in order to achieve their goals. There were some key similarities among many. One, they did what they loved to do, or what they could do well. Two, they seriously worked HARD at it. Three, there were no short cuts. These three aspects will ring true again and again when you read about successful businesspeople. This book just focuses on those that have done it and are African Americans.
I give it a gold star (4 of them).
Verify Your Millionaires BEFORE writing about them!.......2001-04-24
The book writes about a Mr. Alvin Rice as a "Young Black Millionaire" but he is definetly NOT one. Unfortunately, this gentlemen has pretty much "charmed" the author into believing what ever he can come up with. D&R Recovery (his supposed fortune in the making) is now under and owes back taxes from what I read.
I really think the author should have verified her sources before publishing the book and making the rest us look bad! It's hard enough to find an uplifting book about our people, then to have the information be tarnished.
The New Color of Success: Twenty Young Black Milionaires.......2000-07-19
Absolutely outstanding piece of literary work. It is rare, even with the likes of Black Enterprise Magazine, that we get to see the wealthy Black Americans that exist in this country. Besides being an eye opening book, I also found it to be motivational for one who might contemplate starting ones own business one day. Some of the person's profiled in this book started with very little capital in some very non-traditional fields with the odds against them. Through perserverance and determination they became successful. I strongly recommend this book as one you must have in your library. Hopefully, this will inspire Mr. Graves to document the 400 wealthiest Black Americans.
The New Color Of Success.......2000-04-03
AWESOME! Thank you Ms. Niki Butler Mitchell for showcasing people of color. I know they exist in my environment, but there are others in the world that are not surrounded by such images of success.
The theme throughout this book is faith, perseverance, hard work, family, helping others, not MONEY! I could not put this book down. It lead to my insomnia!
Why should you purchase this book? Parents to encourage your child; multicultural professionals to show there are a multitude of successful people of color that are not in the entertainment industry or playing supports that encounter racism; entrepenuers to refer to as a source of encouragement.
Bottomline this is not just a book for people of color, but for people who have persevered. These individuals have definitely reinforced my motto, "all you can tell me is no, but if I don't ask the answer is already N-O!"
Thanks to the individuals represented in the pages of 'The New Color Of Success' I have been encouraged to continue focusing on my passion.
So, Ms. Mitchell when are you planning on writing the next one?

About time........2000-03-09
I have been looking for a book like this. It was an excellent choice of subject matter. However, unlike the magazine articles that tell the story of success, these stories lack flavor.

Darwin had it wrong, and the Creationists also have it wrong.......2005-09-01
Well, perhaps "wrong" is too strong a word, since there are truths embedded in each of the belief systems (or theories, if you'd like). But Seth's more all-encompassing explanation -- best read if you've started out with other Seth books first like "Seth Speaks" -- is shattering in its implications. Once you get your mind around the entire framework of it, it's also absolutely the most logical explanation, too, in my opinion.
Both Darwin and the literal Bible interpreters (Creationists) were/are working through a set of filters and by default, a more limited awareness of the true nature of reality. Seth's explanation, even if you don't buy into it 100% on the first read, is nonetheless extremely fascinating.
Also a comment on the excess verbiage by Robert Butts: Yes, sometimes he goes on too long with details such as, "Jane woke from trance a bit groggy." But all of Butts' comments are in italics, and I've learned from reading the other Seth books to just fast-forward over the italics. It's not that big of a deal once you program yourself to do that.
Too much verbiage that isn't Seth.......2003-08-30
All the Seth books are worthwhile, arguably profound and life-changing, and this is no exception. At times Seth takes wing and, as usual, presents very original arguments ...at times with a concision and eloquence that itself suggests that Seth is an essence from another dimension (as he says he is). But the book suffers from too much comment (in footnotes and an epistle of an introduction) by Robert Butts, the husband of Jane Roberts and the person who actually produced the text dictated by Jane. Robert Butts seems not to realise that what he has to say is infinitely inferior to what Seth says...and yet Butts goes on at far too great length. Stick to Seth if you want the essence of these books.
Dreams, 'Evolution', and Value Fulfillment: A Seth Book.......2002-10-14
Having read hundreds of books on the qualities of consciousness, there are NONE superior to Seth's. My first book on the subject back in the 1970's was Seth and still, though many are fabulous, none compare to the DEPTH of Seth.
Seth's masterwork.......1999-06-02
Seth at one point referred to this book as his masterpeice, the one that all of the others have been building up to. The concepts that he tries to get across here are actually pretty simple once you get your mind to thinking that way--it's a way of viewing oneself, the planet, and the interconnectedness of all relationships (sentiant and otherwise). All of his books are profound, so it would be redundant to say this one is too (but it is). A story within the book is Jane's rapid and dramatic physical deterioration, and Seth's dictation at times takes a back seat to Rob's records of her physical and mental state, and his notes about Three Mile Island and the Iran hostage crisis. When I reread, I will probably skip the notes and just read the dictation, if only to get a clearer flow.
Very advanced and theoretical Seth material.......1998-05-27
Where do we come from and why are we here. This book deals with the origin of mankind and the creation of this world in dreams. I'd not recommend it if you do not know other Seth books, and also not if you are looking of ways of how to improve your life situation (get Nature of Personal Reality in that case). However, it's excellent if you enjoyed Seth Speaks and Unknown Reality.
Book Description
How do markets evolve? Why are some innovations picked up straightaway whilst others take years to be commercialized? Are there first-mover advantages? Why do we behave with 'irrational exuberance' in the early evolution of markets as was the case with the dot.com boom? Paul Geroski is a leading economist who has taught economics to business school students, managers, and executives at the London Business School. In this book he explains in a refreshingly clear style how markets develop. In particular he stresses how the early evolution of markets can significantly shape their later development and structure. His purpose is to show how a good grasp of economics can improve managers' business and investment decisions. Whilst using the development of the Internet as a case in point, Geroski also refers to other sectors and products, for example cars, television, mobile phones, and personal computers. This short book is an ideal introduction for managers, MBA students, and the general reader wanting to understand how markets evolve.

Book Description
The new institutional economics took its roots in the transaction cost theory of the firm as an economic organization rather than purely a production function. This idea has been developed further by scholars such as Oliver Williamson, Douglas North and their followers, which has led to the rich and growing field of the new institutional economics. This branch of economics stresses the importance of institutions in the functioning of free markets, which include elaborately defined and effectively enforced property rights in the presence of transaction costs, large corporate organizations with agency and hierarchical controls, formal contracts, bankruptcy laws, and regulatory institutions.
Murali Patibandla applies some of the precepts of the new institutional economics to India - one of the world's most promising economies.

Customer Reviews:
Not bad but for beginners to the subject.......2004-05-16
Brennan recounts the old stories of ancient archaeology through most of this book. He sites a lot of bible quotes to reinforce his contention that we came from Mars but doesn't really give any hard evidence as to how this was possible. This book is basically a collection of other books that I have read that were more interesting. More for people who don't know too much about ancient archaeology and what to start out with the basics.
Little connection between the title and what is delivered........2001-08-27
Although this book does present some intriquing archeological anomalies, and thought-provoking speculation, it fails to even come close to delivering the goods. The author revisits ground well-trodden ('face on Mars', ancient mysteries, mythology-as-fact), but offers nothing new. It is disjointed, and seems to have been put together hastily. Sub-par.
Am I supposed to believe this?.......2001-08-07
How half of the archaeological sites mentioned in this book have anything to do with Mars is beyond me. If we came from Mars, then don't you think there'd be some kind of oral or written history about it? There's an oral history of Noah's flood, and of Jesus allegedly rising from the dead, but there's no mention of us coming to Earth from Mars. How could people forget such a momentous occasion?
The whole premise of this book is solely based on one picture. Overall this book sucks.
Quick, compelling, well-researched.......2000-12-11
Brennan's book is far from the definitive book on possible extraterrestrial intervention in our species' history. But it's surprisingly cogent, fast reading that raises important questions without insulting the reader's intelligence. Brennan's thesis isn't developed into a working hypothesis; he leaves this thorny task for others to unravel. But the material here is certainly worth the few hours it takes to read "Martian Genesis."
Interesting hypothesis.......2000-11-13
Mr. Brennan explores a vast amount of historical "anomalies" throughout his book, all of which, he believes, are clues to an ancient civilization that existed before modern history was believed to have started. According to modern consensus civilization began about 6,000 years ago in Sumer, however, Mr. Brennan challenges this idea and suggests that it was much earlier, around 35,000 or 65,000 years ago, and also that we possibly could've been transplanted from Mars. All in all the book is pretty good, plus there's pictures of the face on Mars.

Book Description
Firm Size, Innovation and Market Structure uses evolutionary dynamic theory, non-linear mathematics and computer simulation techniques to explore the relationship between firm size, innovation and market structure.
The book begins by reviewing the connection between these variables from a theoretical and an empirical point of view, and goes on to illustrate how analytical tools may be used in order to explore Schumpeterian propositions regarding firm size, innovation and the specific role of idiosyncratic events.
In the concluding chapter, Mariana Mazzucato focuses on the US automobile industry from 1900-1997, and uses empirical evidence in order to determine whether or not there is a relationship between market share instability and stock price volatility, and to what degree the relationship is connected to industry specific factors.
This innovative new book will prove invaluable to researchers, lecturers and scholars of industrial organization, technology and market structure.

Book Description
This volume represents the proceedings of the European Science Foundation
History of Chemistry in Europe 1789-1939 conference held in Strasbourg in October 1996. Leading scholars investigate the ways in which the chemical industry developed throughout much of Europe prior to, and in some cases during, World War II. Emphasis is placed on fertiliser production, which stimulated research into electrochemical and high pressure processes and polymer chemistry. The main focus is on the interwar period, when political strategies for self-sufficiency dictated that innovations were to be based on the availability of raw materials, and the needs of new user industries. Commercial factors also played an important role, particularly the mergers which led to the formation of companies such as IG Farben and Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI). Nevertheless, smaller and independent companies also produced many new products. While much of the European chemical industry was dependent on coal and coal tar products, there were strong moves towards the foundation of science-based biochemical industries.
This book is unique in its close examination of technologies, particularly chemical engineering and the control of processes, research in industry, and countries that were not mentioned in previous literature. It is enhanced by contributions from specialists in business and engineering history, as well as by historians of chemistry and technology.
Audience: This work will be of great value to historians of chemistry, business, engineering and technology.
