Book Description
America's sassiest, grouchiest, funniest, and chubbiest cat is up to his old tricks --- and up to some new tricks too! Garfield celebrates living by fighting fleas, falling in love, and composing a history of dogs. This fourth Garfield extravaganza also features A Morning with Garfield and Garfield's only biography of his creator, Jim Davis.

Sludge Monster.......2007-02-13
"Garfield Weighs In" is the fourth Garfield strip set, (dailies and Sundays) from March-November 1980. Pretty entertaining. A few things happen in it. Bit of Nermal, Jon gets a date, the "Sludge Monster", Garfield's "History of Dogs". Worth a read.
Cronology of Comics.......2004-10-30
Garfield Weighs in (#4) contains all daily garfield comics from March 31, 1980 through November 2, 1980. Within Garfield's First Tresury, are the color versions of #4's sunday comics from April 6, 1980 through July 13, 1980, while Garfield's Second Tresury contains the color versions of #4's sunday strips from July 20, 1980 through November 2, 1980.
Non-stop rollercoaster of laughs.......2004-03-29
I think it is obvious that I love Garfield the cat. For a dog person such as myself, Garfield is the one cat that I would love to own (or maybe not). It is so interesting, if not funny seeing how Garfield has evolved beginning with "Garfield At Large". He began as this big blob of ink. His eyes were small, had a t-shaped nose, and his ears were just as small as his eyes. I would have to say the evolution of Garfield stopped with "Garfield Sits Around the House". All of Jim Davis' books are hilarious. Through out the 20-some years that Garfield has been around, diehard fans such as myself would noticed that the gags and jokes have changed over the years. In the first several books, there were no spider jokes. Or the poor Mrs. Feeny who is constantly tormented by Garfield nowadays. In "Garfield Weighs In" (as well as the other first three books), Garfield is either being tormented by Nermal, the world's cutest (and annoying) kitten or being tricked into taking a bath. And then there is the sludge monster, a figment of Garfield's overactive imagination. I love it when Garfield mugs a girl scout for her cookies. Only Garfield would do something as silly as mugging a girl scout. Another classic moment in the book is when Jon attempts to train Garfield to be an attack cat but fails miserably. And of course there is the visit to Dr. Liz's office and the constant putdowns Jon gets from Liz. Garfield never ceases to amuse me. I still laugh at his crankiness and enormous appetite for all things pasta.
Excellent Garfield comic book (duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh).......2004-02-07
This book is very good! I like this book because in Garfield bigger than life, Weighs in and Takes the Cake, Jim Davis' illustrations are at their best. Other than that, the book is very funny and if you are buying this book, get the color edition, it is much better quality.
Date coverage.......2003-05-30
Contains all the daily and Sunday strips March 31, 1980 through November 2, 1980.

Book Description
No matter how old she is, a woman's relationship with her father-whether it was wonderful or painful-had an impact on the person she is today. Her relationship with men, her career and her feelings about herself have all been shaped by her father, whether she realizes it or not. Now, with the help of noted marriage and family counselor H. Norman Wright, women can begin to understand how their fathers had a profound effect on their emotions and behaviors as adults.
Customer Reviews:
Too religious.......2007-08-10
Some of the book is helpful. But all of these books that talk about absent fathers are very geared towards religion and believing in God. If I don't believe in my father a living being it is very hard for me to be expected to believe in a male super natural being. I would really like to find one of these books that are just geared towards psychology.
very informative.......2007-01-23
I didn't know how vital was the father in the upbring of his daughter. I am learing a lot with this book and reccomend it to all women who don't have or didn't have a great relationship with their fathers.
Everywhere I go, everyone I see.......2006-07-12
... I see mommy and daddy... and they see me....I learned that in the Hoffman Process. Anais Nin once said that we don't see things as they are, we see them as they are... and healing our relationship with our father will do us a world of good beyond just mending some of our romantic relationships. Harville Hendrix talks about the Imago ... how we attract and are attracted to partners who are so similar to our parents that we have them fused ... and this very phenomenon sets us up to sometimes choose the wrong partners. Father's daughters are especially prone to the opposite side of the abandoned fatherless girl. So overprotected in her formative years, the father's daughter risks being burned out in an over competitive dynamic with men even if they are friendly. My own experience was of being raised to be so independant from matrimonial prison ties that there was no room for many years to just be in the company of a person, regardless of gender. This is no fun way to live. Don't recreate familiar heartbreak after heartbreak. Heal at the point of origin with your father ... and watch the world change before your eyes because you have changed.
For every young girl or woman who wants a healthy realtionship.......2006-02-24
I read this book when it first came out and have recommended it to many fathers and mothers who are concerned the relationships their daughters are choosing. It provides some very valuable insights into why we choose the people we do in relationships.. It is a timeless treasure...
Why Good Dads Make a Difference?.......2002-12-27
I am a family counselor and find this book extremely helpful with my female clients. The most important questions it seems to address is: "What did I get/or didn't get from my father in my growing up years that now impacts my life positively or negatively? And where do I go from here? What is the role of a father in shaping a daughter's view of whom to marry, her overall self-esteem, her feelings about her physical attributes, and her desire to succeed in life?" I read this book after I had worked out many of my less than positive issues with my own father. It helped me to see what I did miss out on in that relationship. But equally important, it helped me to see my worth in spite of a less than perfect relationship with dad. A must read at any age!

Best S&M Story.......2006-06-21
Yes. It's true. Many of the stories were completely forgettable. But there was one gem in the pile. Reading "The Unforgiven" by Mark James made it worth the buy. I can't begin to explain how different this male/male story was from the usual, boring S&M I've seen out there. It had everything - edge, excitement, hot scenes, great plot, even a quick escape. I read the story months ago, but I still remember it. I actually read this story many times, because I couldn't believe what I was reading. It's like no S&M you've read before. I even researched the author and found his book.
Bad writing.......2006-06-10
To say this book wasted my time would be a charitable way of saying that it robbed me of time I could have spent reading something well-written, clever, and original. These stories are abysmal and that's the best I can possibly say about them. How this "editor" calls himself an editor is beyond me. Pure garbage. It's stuff like this that gives erotica a bad name.
Not worth the money.......2006-04-15
This is a compilation of short stories involving the alpha/dominant male theme. Or so I thought. A couple of the stories were very good, but overall, this book was a disappointment. The editing was very bad (which took this reader's attention from an already forgettable story). The stories did not provide anything new or cutting edge and truthfully, I didn't finish the book. If you are interested in alpha/dominant male stories or stories from a master/submissive perspective, buy or borrow N.T. Morley's Master/Slave. Now THAT's storywriting 101.

Has them all.......2006-08-03
I enjoyed Michelle's Larks book Who's your daddy. I enjoyed how she touched on a topic that is known to all in the world. The lifestyle that famous people live is very different from everyday life. I enjoy how Michelle puts her readers in the story so that you can relate with what she is saying. I can't wait to read the next one. Good job Michelle. You never let me down with your books. :)
Who's Your Daddy.......2006-07-04
I read this book in one evening. I truly enjoyed the book from the first page to the last page. The twists are just amazing and I was completely thrilled with how Michelle told the story. It really gets you to thinking about how secrets and lies can hurt you and they always come back to haunt you. I was left with the feeling that you need to be true to yourself and the people around you. I have read all of Michelle Larks books and I can't wait for the next one. I am so proud of her!!!!!!!!!!!111

Book Description
Lila Moreno and her two best friends, Meryl Morgenstern are social mutants. Not because of who they are, but who their guy-repellent daddies are. Lila's dad is the chief of police; Meryl's dad is the football coach, the driver's ed instructor, and the dean of discipline at the high school; and Caressa's dad is a famous musician. Boys are too terrified and intimidated by the girls' dads to come anywhere near them.
So Lila, Meryl, and Caressa decide to take matters into their own hands. On the night of homecoming, instead of going dateless, they hold a Dumb Supper -- a Celtic ritual that shows single young women who their soul mates are. The dinner doesn't go exactly as planned, but never could they guess how much this loser's alternative to homecoming would change their lives.

There is only one word for WHO'S YOUR DADDY?--laugh-out-loud hilarious. Wait, I think that might actually count as four words. Or if you take into account the hyphens, at least two. Anyway, you catch my drift. I laughed through the entire three-hundred plus pages of this book, and now have only one request. Please, please, please make this book into a movie!
Meet three best friends unlike (or very much like) anyone you've ever known. There's Lila Moreno, whose dad happens to be not only a hottie widower sought after by all the town's women, but the police chief of White Peaks, Colorado. Then there's Meryl Morgenstern, who although she was named after Meryl Streep, is totally anti-pop culture, including television. Her dad is also the Vice President of discipline, the driver's ed teacher, and the assistant football coach at the high school they attend. And then there's Caressa Thibodoux, who has a very famous retired blues musician for a father, and also happens to live in a log cabin house that can only be described as a mansion. When you're sixteen, having the types of fathers these girls have does not put you high up on the popularity list. You're either too pretty and rich (Caressa), too weird (Meryl, who doesn't even know who Buffy is), or way, way off the instant-dateability list (Lila, whose dad is, you remember, the Chief of Police).
So what are three girls to do? Especially three girls who are desperate to gain dates to the homecoming dance? Well, the only thing three pretty, intelligent, intimidating girls can do. They stage a Dumb Supper, hoping that between the supernatural energy of having a meal entirely backwards combined with the helping-hand of the ghost of Lila's mother will help them in their search for a date. All they have to do is write down their wish, and after the Supper the first guy they see will be their one-true-love. At least that's how it's supposed to work, but in the lives of Lila and her friends, few things rarely ever go as planned.
The first guy Lila runs into is Dylan Sebring, lieutenant of the junior narcotics squad, otherwise known as the Police Explorers. If there's anything Lila doesn't need in her life, it's another cop. Her father and brother are enough, thank you very much. The first guy Meryl meets is Ismet, previously known only as That Bosnian Guy. Meryl's pretty sure things are looking up, until she realizes that the only type of girl Ismet wants is a typical, fully-submerged-in-American-culture teen, which Meryl most certainly is not. And as for Caressa? Her bright idea is to get musician Bobby Slade to ask her to the dance, which ends up with, you guessed it, some humiliating results.
WHO'S YOUR DADDY? is a downright funny, entertaining read. You won't go wrong reading this book for many reasons, the least of which is the exercise to your smile muscles.

NOT Bubble Gum for your brain!.......2006-09-15
So, you're reading WHO'S YOUR DADDY, laughing like crazy and identifying with the characters or envying them, just a little bit even when they're in way over their heads...and you realize the author Lynda Sandoval has kinda tricked you. There's more to this book than it appears. Without seeming to, it tells you a lot about relationships. And the really good news is that her newer book OVERBOARD is just as much fun -- though it has a few serious parts which make it better for high school age readers.

Cute read for Middle School.......2005-11-29
I really liked this book for middle school and high school girls. It is funny and imaginative. Three girls need dates for the prom and because they were left dateless for homecoming they hold a special ceremony to try to catch dates for the spring. Their fathers, because of their occuations, are date repellents, hence the title Who's Your Daddy. Cute book and I love the teen language.
Worth Your Money.......2005-11-16
This is a story about Lila Moreno, Meryl Morgenstern, and Caressa Thibodoux. Three highschool girls trying to get dates for the junior prom. Doesn't help that they are outcasts. Lila's dad is a cop (who wants to date a cop's daughter anyways?), Meryl is out in stone age (no TV), and Caressa looks like the way too beautiful I'm too good for you type (her dad is a famous musican). It all starts with a dumb supper (not DUMB as in stupid, it's a practice by greeks), a grounding, three hot unreachable guys, and big fat orange letters.
If you liked, 'Sloppy Firsts', 'Second Helpings', 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants', 'Someone Like You', 'Chasing Redbird', or any of the books by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, then you would like this book too. Totally Recommended.

If someone took a hose and cleaned this up, it wouldn't be nearly as funny. Don't worry. If you accidentally leave it on your coffee table, even a smart eight-year-old won't get the humor. It's oblique, salty and funny as heck.
Great Father's Day Gift.......2001-06-06
I had no intentions of buying this book. I picked it up because it was sitting by the register at the book store. I began reading it, and I immeditately cracked up for about 15 minutes until the clerk suggested I buy it. I don't laugh at stupid things (at least not usually...okay, I do...but this isn't stupid; it's clever). I did buy it and now it sits on my parents' coffee table along with all their "serious, artsy-fartsy" books. I highly recommend it.
