The book is good although if you had bought Claire Sun-ok Choi's other book Designing Handcrafted Cards: Step-By-Step Techniques For Crafting 60 Beautiful Card you would have wasted yur money as every card is already in this book. The cards are basic and easy to make so this book is definitely geared more towards beginners rather than someone who has already been making cards and is looking for a little innovation or something different.

A Beginner's Dream.......2001-11-13

I was thrilled with this book. I am a novice at rubber stamping and I wanted to make my own Christmas cards this year, so I bought Ms. McGraw's book hoping it would be what I needed. It is perfect for the beginner (and probably those who know some about stamping but want more ideas and information). The book is laid out in a format that is easy to follow and not overwhelming or confusing. It is written with specifics in mind. It offers plenty of options giving you room to stamp as fancy or as simple as you like. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves stamps!

This is a great book for beginners and has excellent explanations and step by step instructions for the techniques involved.

The only thing that stopped me from giving this book 5 stars is that the designs in the book are a little dated looking, and the list at the end of the book of what stamps were used and where to buy them was not nearly complete and explicit enough.

I've learned alot from this book. This was the first book I bought when I got into rubber stamping. I truly recommend this to anyone who really enjoys rubber stamping. The book comes with me when ever I travel. I bring it out alot when holidays and b-days come along for some ideas I can combine with a card to make.

Good Book for Beginners.......2001-01-17

I'm new to stamping and am quite impressed with this book, as it provides enough information for beginners like myself to really understand how to do the techniques, and has also helped familiarize me with the stamping terminology.

My only criticism is that someone obviously goofed in putting the book together, as the first pages of the "Getting Started" and "Special Effects" chapters are reversed. I almost put the book back on the shelf at the store when I saw that, figuring the rest of the book would have problems like that as well. Fortunately, it's the only problem I've encountered... it's just a little disconcerting!

I use this CD constantly for ideas in patterns. With patterns in so many formats, it's easy to use with so many platforms and applications and no special software needs to be purchased! This is a great introductory book to communications. It scratches the surface of the subject but still educates the reader in practically every area of communication such as: Preparing and outline for a speech, Manage Speech Anxiety, Informative Speaking, Persuasive Speaking and much more. I recommend this text for any student wishing to introduce themselves to the wonderful field of communications.

Drivel!.......2006-10-20

This is the most long-winded book I have ever read and is thus a good example of how not to communicate. Big words are used to obfuscate simple ideas and puff up the subject into a bloated, self-important, unnecessary load of drivel. Look out - it gets worse: If your Speech Communication teacher likes this book it probably means you have to pretend to be left-wing to get a good grade.

Excellent Textbook.......2006-09-29

I bought this book (5th edition) from a seller who was offering it brand new for 19 dollars. And I was 100% satisfied with this purchase. The book arrived promptly and it was brand new (wrapped in plastic). This is an excellent textbook for Oral Communication classes.

I recieved this book that clearly states in the title 6th edition, but in the information says 4th edition. I did not notice the 4th edition. The seller was great about refunding my money for the book plus shipping due to the misommunication, I am still waiting on a refund for the return shipment so we'll give that a little time to recieve.

We all need fun AND structure!.......2006-07-14

Half of this resource is taken up with words in dark type to copy on suggested colors of tag that you cut without lines, and will no doubt be helpful to those in a hurry or without the expensive chart word wall packages or another system you prefer. Although I prefer another way of printing out words and organize them vertically, I still rated this resource five stars because of the structured weekly plan and routines that will keep you accountable, help children know what to do when, and assist as you plan without eliminating fun. I teach K-3 special ed, and the expectation expansion from level to level is excellent. Her weekly structure includes new words, review of last weeks words, and using all the words in profitable ways that will help develop readers and writers. The plan includes centers and there is a chapter devoted to them that has great advice on helping children approach words. As stated by the author, her system provides the structure, variety, ease, regular reading and writing of words, and IS both focused and fun. And I did prefer her suggested word lists over many other lists I've seen (and she tells you why she altered them). So, despite arranging words differently and my preference for a font that is very clear and can be resized if needed, I was very willing to keep this resource as the first half was so valuable (structure is a non-negotiable when teaching four grade levels). I recommend it as your first word wall resource, many more ideas in other resources will not be as supportive.
