Book Description
A young reader's chapter book from best selling author Kathy-jo Wargin! Her previous books include Mitt the Michigan Mouse, and Minn from Minnesota - and now the
Mitt and Minn saga continues!
What could convince two young mice to journey to a Cheese Jamboree in Wisconsin? Why CHEESE, of course!
As attractive as cheese is to a pair of mice, Mitt and Minn both have other motives as well for heading off to Wisconsin. Mitt, the Michigan mouse, has lost the only home he remembers--his snug red, wool mitten. He's traveled across his home state searching but now winning the Cheese Jamboree cheese-eating contest seems like his only chance to find it. Minn has followed her friend Gerdie from Minnesota and now must win herself in order to be spotted by Gerdie in the crowd at the fair. Unfortunately, each contest can have only one winner!
Mitt & Minn at the Wisconsin Cheese Jamboree is the third book in the Mitt & Minn Series, a collection of stories about a pair of midwestern mice.

Customer Reviews:
Great Fun and Learning at the Same Time!.......2007-10-10
This is a very cute book about how the presidency works in the United States. It is easy to understand and kids can enjoy what can be a dry subject. I highly recommend it and used it with my middle school ESOL students.
Love It.......2007-06-22
I have purchased the entire series. They are wonderful. My students better understand and have clarity in the government. The author puts this series in a very kid friendly way! Awesome
Karen
Excellent book for children of all ages.......2007-06-12
I bought his book for my daughter who really loved it. It is a very didactic book, with a very interesting subject and also, very nice drawings for every age.
Clever and fun.......2006-09-28
The artwork in this book is fairly unsophisticated (in fact, in some places, it's pretty amateurish), but the clever story and cute mice make up for it.
It's intriguing to watch how the authors manage to describe the president's constitutional duties in easy-to-follow rhyming verses. Against long odds, they do it. E.g, "The president is required to study each "bill" / That Congress delivers from Capitol Hill / If he signs it, a bill becomes law -- it's approved / If he gives it a "veto," it's rejected, removed."
My kids love to find their favorite mice, which sometimes are slightly hidden on the page. I like the thought that they are learning -- even just a little bit.
Great book!!.......2003-05-08
Woodrow, the White House Mouse and the whole series are fantastic. Illustrator, Cheryl Shaw Barnes does an amazing job of bringing the White House to life with her beautiful watercolor and ink drawings. The rhyming text in each of the books is hilarious and instructive. These books will stay in our family library forever - treasures all!
Book Description
Meet Minn--a lively white-footed mouse who arrives in northern Minnesota in a bushel of cherries from Michigan. A Swedish woman named Gerdie invites Minn to share her cozy cabin and the two become the closest of friends. When a series of events separate the pair, Minn embarks on a journey around Minnesota, trying all the while to find her way home to Gerdie and the cabin. On her travels, Minn meets many new friends, animal and human alike, and she will need her quick wits to face the challenges she faces on her own in the north woods.
Minn from Minnesota is the second book in the
Mitt & Minn Series, a collection of stories about a pair of midwestern mice. Book One introduced

Exciting tail, oops, tale for children.......2006-11-10
Minn the mouse arrived in northern Minnesota, from Michigan, in a basket of cherries. He lived in a cabin with his best friend, Gerdie. His bed was a bureau drawer lined with scraps of blankets, scarves and old knit hats no longer in use.
Gerdie loved and cared for Minn and he was never lonely, nor did he wonder about any other family members that might exist.
Rink, a raven, was angry because he didn't think Gerdie liked him. Out for revenge, Rink came to Gerdie's cabin, grabbed Minn in his bill, and flew far, far away. After Minn gains his freedom, he begins his extraordinary journey to return to Gerdie.
Armchair Interviews says: Minn from Minnesota is an exciting tale that children will enjoy as they read and reread it.
Superbly written and entertaining.......2006-11-06
Minn is a young mouse who arrives in Minnesota via a bushel of cherries from Michigan. Upon her arrival Minn is befriended by a kind old lady named Gerdie who is willing to share her cozy Minnesota cabin with Minn. But when disaster strikes, Minn becomes lost and must embark upon a danger-fraught journey around the state in order to find her way home to Gerdie and the cabin. This is the second book in author Kathy-jo Wargin's delightful series of superbly written and entertaining books for young readers showcasing this intrepid little mouse and her adventures. Also very highly recommended for school and community collections is the first in the series, "Mitt the Michigan Mouse".
Book Description
Kathy-jo Wargin's children's titles sell thousands of copies. Now, for the first time, this talented writer turns her attention to young readers with
Mitt the Michigan Mouse. This is the first in a four-book series.
Minn from Minnestoa, book #2, was released in September 2006.
Meet Mitt--a delightful white-footed mouse from the deep woods of northern Michigan. He lives happily in the only home he has ever known, a thick red mitten, until a boy and his dog snatch Mitt's cozy home and start Mitt on an adventure across the state to find his beloved mitten.
A beautiful Sandhill crane named Tuuli takes a special liking to the young mouse and promises to find his mitten and deliver Mitt safely back to his woodland home, but the journey is long and filled with danger. Mitt will need his quick mind and story-telling abilities to keep him safe until he locates the old wolverine named Tekla who holds the key to locating Mitt's missing mitten.
Customer Reviews:
A delightful novel of questing and discovery for young readers........2006-12-10
Written by Kathy-jo Wargin and illustrated by Karen Busch Holman, Mitt, the Michigan Mouse is the first book in the Mitt & Minn series. Mitt is a young white-footed mouse, who lives in his happy home of a wool mitten deep within a forest. One day, a boy and his dog come by, and the dog carries away Mitt's beloved mitten home! Anxious to find his warm mitten, Mitt sets out on a journey to find the home he lost, encountering adventures and surprises along the way. A delightful novel of questing and discovery for young readers.
Wow! What a book........2006-07-01
Kathy-Jo Wargin has done a tremendous job of getting the reader interested in the travels of Mitt, the mouse. I teach 1st grade and plan on using Mitt, the Michigan Mouse in my History curriculum. I can't wait to hear the antics and travels of Minn, the mouse from Minnesota.
A delightful book!.......2006-05-22
Kathy-jo Wargin is one of my favorite children's authors. Her books are always entertaining, informative and educational. She fills her books with loveable people and animals that you root for and want more of when the story is done. Mitt, the Michigan Mouse is no exception.
Karen Busch Holman's black and white illustrations are inviting, detailed and contribute to the story's flavor.
Mitt is a white-footed mouse who has always lived in the woods in northern Michigan. And even though he has only faint memories of his mother, father and siblings, he's a happy mouse with a cozy home. His home is made of thick red wool mitten and is secreted in a white spruce tree.
When Mitt leaves his home to attend a birthday party, a young boy and his dog come to play in the woods. The dog finds Mitt's home, snatches it up and takes it with him. When Mitt returns and finds his home missing, and the animals tell him who has taken it, he is determined to track down his mitten.
Thus begins Mitts exciting adventure that spans many months. Mitt faces many dangers on his journey and meets many new friends along the way. But it isn't until the wolverine Tekla talks to Mitt that he learns the key to finding what he is looking for.
I didn't want it to end.
Armchair Interviews says: This delightful book will thrill middle readers with Mitt's adventures and they will excitedly await the next installment in this series.

A Must Read.......2006-03-02
This is a must read for any little princess (or prince) This classical story will never grow old or boring my kids love it as do I!!
Snow White Enforces Dysfunctional Relationships.......2005-06-06
Snow White has NO character in the book but manages to marry a man who also has NO character. It portrays women as either perfect (Snow White) or entirely evil (Wicked Step-Mother). It contradicts it's own message in that the wicked step-mother's quest for beauty makes her evil but Snow White lands prince charming because of her remarkable beauty. It's not a good thing to fill impressionable children's minds with in my oppinion. I'll be writting an alternative version of most disney books and presenting it to them. Keep an eye out.
A GREAT STORY.......2003-04-19
I LOVE THIS BOOK IM NOT A LITTLE GIRL ANYMORE BUT I STILL ENJOY READING THIS STORY IF YOU HAVE LITTLE KIDS YOU SHOULD BUY THIS BOOK IM SURE THEY'LL LOVE IT
Classical!.......2002-12-10
A Classic is all I can say. It tell's the story of jealous step moms in the world. But the litte people is what catches a child's attention.
Erikas Review.......2002-11-01
I thought that Walt Disney's "Snow white and the seven dwarfs" was a great book for children
everywhere. Its the classic story of Snow White coming and staying with the seven adorable dwarfs, who all have
great personalities of their own. I think that children would love to read this book over and over again. Its
definitely a book that children will remember for a very long time. The thing about this book that makes it so great
is the magnificent ending. So I recommend this book to children, and maybe even adults, because its just one of
them books that makes you smile when you read it.

Love this book.......2004-10-18
I have a daughter with albinism and this book helps her to understand that it is OK to be different and accept who she is. It does not reference albinism specifically but many of the issues that Sammy faces are relevent to her as well. This teaches such a great lesson to any child. I do not have albinism and loved this book as a child.
Nostalgic.......2003-12-04
This book was a treasured volume in my childhood library. The illustrations are incredible. I recommend it--if you can find it!

Book Description
Ten years ago, comic readers met Loo, a 16-year-old girl stranded on an automated satellite in deep space. Her story of coming-of-age in a harsh and unyielding environment became a fan-favorite book around the world. Now, the entire critically-acclaimed Little White Mouse series is collected into this 448 page Omnibus Edition, including a new Four-Page Framing Story By Series Creator Paul Sizer, And Artistic Contributions From Geofrey Darrow, Chris Sprouse, Dave Johnson, Mike Oeming, Jeff Moy, Matt Feazell, Ladronn and many others! A must have for any Little White Mouse fan, new or old.
Customer Reviews:
A Teenager Without Angst.......2007-01-22
Ostensibly a coming of age story of a 16-year old girl, the Little White Mouse series by writer and artist Paul Sizer is in reality a far ranging, emotionally complex tale of the the power of hope and self-belief to overcome loneliness, doubt, and despair.
When Loo crash lands on Mining Satellite 713 after the space liner taking her and her sister P'heng to the Galactic Science Academy explodes, she finds herself completely alone, except for a pair of overprotective droids and the possible ghost of a previous inhabitant. There's no crew, no communications in or out, and the main computer running the station is rather hostile to Loo's borrowing of the station's technology. Sizer frequently dips into Loo's past with extended flashbacks and dream sequences to demonstrate the building of her personality into a core of strength to face such a dire situation with ingenuity, humor and irrepressible gumption. There are several side stories addressing corporate corruption, urban decay and the tribulations of love, but the star of the show is always Loo and her journey through the worst of circumstances, keeping her head up all the way and inspiring others.
The graphic style of the book is half-way to manga. Sizer frequently pokes fun at his own artistic style by bringing on the full manga treatment, while Loo complains that she "looks like Hello Kitty" when he does. The tone of the writing balances perfectly between poignant philosophizing and slapstick humor, knowing just when to switch from one to the other. Sizer does leave some loose ends, sometimes intentionally, sometimes as a result of too much meat in the stew.
Little White Mouse is categorized as a youth title, and would be a superb gift to any teenager or pre-teen, both girls and boys. But any adult should ignore the youth title appellation and pick up this collection of the complete series. At the end, it was hard to say goodbye to Loo Th'eng and her friends and family, and her positive attitude towards life lingers with the reader long after the book is returned to the shelf.
