Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

4 out of 5 stars Blue's Favorite Things - A fun book for Baby and Toddler.......2005-10-12

This is a nice big book with many of the characters from Blue's Clues. There is Blue, of course, Slippery Soap, Magenta and Periwinkle, Shovel, Pail and Mailbox, also Tickety, Side Table Drawer and Mr. and Mrs. Salt and Pepper. With all of these characters this book sounds like it's big, but it isn't. (The only drawback really... a little short at 10 pages.)

Take a look at the "search inside this book" Amazon feature to see what the text and artwork looks like.

On the first set of pages (pictures take up two pages) Blue is in the bath tub. The text begs you to join in and sing Blue's favorite song: Old MacDonald's Farm.

The second set of pages show Blue reading a book with Periwinkle and Magenta. The text refers to the Hey Diddle Diddle poem and asks "Do you know this rhyme about a cat and a fiddle?".

The third set of pages show Blue using her imagination. The clouds in the blue sky overhead give you the opportunity to ask your child what the clouds are shaped like.

The fourth set of pages shows a garden in which Blue is trying to find some of her friends. There are vegetables to discuss with your child, as well as flowers and the colors of various plants. Your child also has a chance to find Shovel and Pail and Mailbox.

The final set of pages has the text "Of all the things Blue likes to do, she especially loves to play Blue's Clues with you!"

Four Stars. A fun book for baby and toddler. It gives a caregiver some opportunities to teach and have fun. We only wish it was longer.

            5 out of 5 stars A great lost classic.......1999-05-18

I read this years ago when i checked it out of the public library. It has been one of my favorite books and captures the heady period of pre-Maoist warlord ridden China before WWII. It reads like a spy "temple of doom" novel with Yarldey shamelessly being the main character but its a great read.

What's interesting is that cryptography played such an important role so far back before computers and data lines. Although not a very technical book for crypto-fans, it captures the spirit of the early codebreakers as misfits and outcast. Just like the Flying Tigers, Yardley gives a very unique look at the role that Americans played in China before the Pacific War. I highly recommend this book if it ever comes back into print.

5 out of 5 stars Bring on the codes and the beautiful babies!.......1997-12-14

Hired by Chiang Kai Shek to crack Japanese spy codes (this was after the KMT retreat into the hills), Yardley found himself in the beseiged city of Chungking where EVERYONE IS A SPY (Ted White makes an appearance as a green reporter to whom Yardley teaches poker.) Pre-dating Cold War factionalism, Yardley wrote with a candidness that seems eccentric today (this man had no "ISSUES"); but in his day, he was seen as dangerously indiscreet. His American Black Chamber (located in New York City!) was shut down after a successful run for budget reasons - unemployed and then ostracized when his book on cryptography was banned for revelations of American code cracking methods, Yardley found himself ~temping~ for the "Generalissimo" in the Chinese backwater. An incredibly talented cryptographer and unabashed ladies' man, Yardley provides a charming and lucid slice of that life to which this review cannot do justice. Note that this book is "Hard to Find" - find it! Find its precursor, "Ameri

1 out of 5 stars Bad history combined with lurid journalism.......2007-09-18

This book will be a grave disappointment to any serious student of Chinese history. While easy to read, the authors' assertions and conclusions as to the events surrounding Kang Sheng's life are poorly supported. Citations to evidence are sparse and those citations that are available are entirely news reports and other secondary sources; no effort is made to cite to any of the plentiful Chinese language sources available, including some reasonably reliable personal memoirs and government archives. In addition, the book is written in the tone of an expose with lurid accounts of unverified events passed on as though they were proven fact. Combined with the lack of reliable sources for the alleged events that occurred in Kang Sheng's life, the authors appear to pander to a conspiratorial mindset on the part of the reader. In fact, the authors' conspiratorial views permeate the entire book and it becomes clear that they truly believe that all intelligence chiefs, not just Kang Sheng, are power-hungry psychopaths and criminals. While no doubt true of some historical individuals, and probably Kang Sheng himself, it still detracts greatly from the value of this book as a resource for information on Kang Sheng's life. Given that the work was published in 1989, one can hope that there may yet be a reliable and well-written account of Kang Sheng's life produced in the near future. Just don't rely on this book for that kind of history.

              Book Description

Code Name KINDRED SPIRIT takes us directly into the murky world of nuclear espionage. But it is also a daunting story about the fate of the man who brought the bad news. After the scandal broke, Trulock found himself the targeted by the Clintonites who resented him for speaking out. He was smeared as a bigot and a mentally unstable alarmist. When he attempted to tell his side of the story, the FBI tried to silence him by claiming he had revealed classified data. He was demoted and driven out of government, his career and his personal reputation ruined. Code Name KINDRED SPIRIT tells the inside story of one of the major spy scandals of recent years. It reads like a Le Carre story told by Franz Kafka.

5 out of 5 stars Kindred Spirit tells us more about the disastrous Clinton administration.......2007-08-25

I was one of those Americans originally conned into believing Wen Ho Lee was a victim of racial prejudice and unjust persecution. It enraged me that he was isolated and shacked during much of his imprisonment. Notra Trulock's revelations, however, have made me realize that the left-wing media cooperated with Bill Clinton's administration to provide cover for the latter's unforgivable fecklessness. Lee was likely a spy for the Chinese communist government. Nothing else comes close to explaining his suspicious behavior. At the minimum, Lee committed gross security violations mandating the revocation of his security clearance. Nonetheless, Clinton's people were apparently interested only in damage control. Slandering the author as a racial bigot and perhaps even mentally unbalanced was deemed necessary. The intellectual virus of political correctness also pervaded the culture---and the President took full advantage of this sad state of affairs to severely damage Mr. Trulock. The results were not pretty.

The majority of American voters supported Bill Clinton in the 1992 election. They thought The End of History and the Last Man had arrived and our country could therefore concentrate on domestic issues. Islamic nihilism, for instance, was rarely even mentioned. Trulock's splendid work adds to the already substantial evidence that Clinton weakened our nation's defenses and emboldened our enemies. Reading Kindred Spirit is a harsh reminder that the citizens of the United States should never again become so nonchalant concerning their security. You should read Rich Lowry's: Legacy: Paying the Price for the Clinton Years. The National Review editor's book, as you might expect, is also highly critical of the Clinton era.

4 out of 5 stars prepare to be aggravated ... and engaged.......2003-07-12

An excellent book by Notra Turlock and as one of society's wierdos who actually wanted to read the Cox Commission report, an important historical document of just how self preserving the FBI, the DOE, the Justice Dept. can all act when their turf seems headed for well deserved blame admist a national scandal. There are typical government buearacrats earning huge salaries that act virtually as traitors to the U.S. cause and their are spys who act as spys and then blame the sorry old lable of racisim when at least a few government officials try to do the right thing. Most of the characters in this book, while government officers and employees all, act decidely un-American throughout.

This a scary story. One cannot help but feel that the powers that be, higher up, much higher than N. Turlock, actually knew about the efforts of China to engage in nuclear espionage and condoned it. Why, I can only speculate, but the safegauards to prevent its occurences were so hap-hazzard and the influx of foreign "students" and scientists so prevalant, that truly, a simpleton would see the inevitable events which all too obviously did occur.

Mr. Trulock is a brave man to have undertaken this expose. It's a shame that millions and millions of Americans are not reading this book.

The reason that I did not give this book five stars involves a few minor writing issues. First, the book's first 100 pages or so are sparsely populated with identifiable characters as Mr. Turlock sets the stage with important but thick detail and thus making it a little difficult to grab one's attention. Also, I could find no explanation for Mr. Turlock's use of alias names of certain characters in the book. I was left to surmise that various agencies forbade the use of actual names of some of the actors, but some explanation would have been helpful. In summary the book is well-sourced and well written.

4 out of 5 stars The Folly of Political Correctness ..........2003-01-18

... and the naivete of the Clinton administration in 1) kowtowing to China and offering all kinds of tribute in the form of sensitive technology, etc. and 2) hobbling the FBI investigation because of racial concerns.

Unfortunately, many Asian-Americans (P.S. I'm Asian myself) were transformed into China's "useful idiots," blindly supporting Wen Ho Lee's unbelieveable charges of racism.

Read along with "A Convenient Spy" and, if you've the stomach, Lee's own self-serving (but fatally incomplete) book.

                Book Description

The most feared man in China, Dai Li, was chief of Chiang Kai-shek's secret service during World War II. This sweeping biography of "China's Himmler," based on recently opened intelligence archives, traces Dai's rise from obscurity as a rural hooligan and Green Gang blood-brother to commander of the paramilitary units of the Blue Shirts and of the dreaded Military Statistics Bureau: the world's largest spy and counterespionage organization of its time.
In addition to exposing the inner workings of the secret police, whose death squads, kidnappings, torture, and omnipresent surveillance terrorized critics of the Nationalist regime, Dai Li's personal story opens a unique window on the clandestine history of China's Republican period. This study uncovers the origins of the Cold War in the interactions of Chinese and American special services operatives who cooperated with Dai Li in the resistance to the Japanese invasion in the 1930s and who laid the groundwork for an ongoing alliance against the Communists during the revolution that followed in the 1940s. Frederic Wakeman Jr. illustrates how the anti-Communist activities Dai Li led altered the balance of power within the Chinese Communist Party, setting the stage for Mao Zedong's rise to supremacy. He reveals a complex and remarkable personality that masked a dark presence in modern China--one that still pervades the secret services on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Wakeman masterfully illuminates a previously little-understood world as he discloses the details of Chinese secret service trade-craft. Anyone interested in the development of modern espionage will be intrigued by Spymaster, which spells out in detail the ways in which the Chinese used their own traditional methods, in addition to adapting foreign ways, to create a modern intelligence service.

                    Book Description

Nicholas Eftimiades examines the infiltration of Chinese espionage agents into foreign governments and private businesses. These efforts have been going on mostly uninterrupted for decades, while Western intelligence services focused on the Soviet Union. He draws on his expertise as a counterintelligence analyst to examine the structure, objectives and methodology of Chinese clandestine activities. The book specifically addresses the human source in intelligence operations, such as agent and double-agent recruitment, and how these tactics fit into the conduct of internal and foreigh affairs in China.

4 out of 5 stars Good Info, Long Read.......2006-12-13

I borrowed this book from the library and was glad I didn't buy it. There was some good information in it, but the writing style was so dry I couldn't bring myself to finish the 100-or-so pages. Most of what was contained was the kind of stuff I already knew or suspected, but good for people just getting into the subject or curious. If it wasn't such a dry read, I would have given it 5 stars.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent primer on the subject.......2002-06-16

Mr. Eftimiades' book is over ten years old and yet probably remains the single most helpful introduction to the subject. His book covers the organization of the various Chinese intelligence agencies, their function, and several illustrations of how they collude to gather information for the People's Republic. Eftimiades is well-connected to the U.S. intelligence community and so can be considered somewhat of an expert, along with Bill Gertz and Paul D. Moore.

What is tragic about the book is that it was written before the public came to hear about China's intelligence operations through the Los Alamos incidents with Wen Ho Lee. Eftimiades' insight into that amazing story would be interesting, I'm sure.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in China, in espionage or intelligence in general. It is worth the large sum of money you most likely will have to pay to read it.

4 out of 5 stars The best current reference on Chinese intelligence.......2000-04-08

Nick is an experienced sinologist who has worked at the Department of State, CIA, and DIA, and is also a naval reserve officer. His book is well-organized, well-researched, and essential reading for those who would understand how comprehensively the Chinese seek out scientific, technical, and military information in the United States, with a special emphasis on open sources of intelligence.

5 out of 5 stars Ahead of his time.......1999-05-15

Mr. Eftimiades's work provides a valuable framework in which to analyze this country's complex relationship with the PRC. What perhaps is most disturbing is the fact that his analysis (warnings) were published before the DNC/foreign money scandal even hit the U.S. press. I am confident that Mr. Eftimiades takes little comfort in the fact that he "told [us] so."

3 out of 5 stars Good info but lacking in punch.......1999-03-24

Very interesting book if you know nothing about Chinese intelligence. But book is a little short on real hard hitting edge to chinese espinage. I would recommend the book for all seeking good overview of chinese intelligence operations.
