Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

    Book Description

Twelve-year-old Mitchell got involved with the wrong kid this past summer, and the prank they played led to an elderly woman's injury. Now he finds himself at the police station—his "sentence" is to chat online with a nursing home resident twice a week for the next month. Mitch isn't thrilled; what could he and some "old" person possibly talk about?

But Mitch's new online friend has a personality all her own. Her name is Wootie Hayes, and she has plenty to talk about: how she got her name, how much she misses her own home, and how she detests bingo. But she also wants to know about Mitch's situation. Without expecting it, they help each other face the truth and begin a new friendship in the process.

I like this book becuse the book teaches you what you should do and what you should not do.The title of the book is Doing Time Online. But you should read this book becse it is like normal day life. There is some mystries in this book. The peoples name in the story is Michell,Trotter, and Wootie there are some more people in it but there the main.

    4 out of 5 stars A Hard Lesson Learned.......2005-03-02

Everyone loves a good book, but not every book is an amazing piece of work. An amazing book is Doing Time Online. This book is about learning a hard lesson. These golden pages are written by Jan Siebold. Before this book was published she had written one other book called Rope Burn. This book Doing Time Online has won four awards. To of which are the ALA Booklist and School Library Journal award. This book deserves this award. In this book, Mitchel the boy gets in trouble over the summer and has to do a program that is called `OLD' which stands for Online Discussion. Mitchel now has to talk to a senior citizen online. The name of the lady Mitchel has to talk to is Wootie Hayes. The main part of the punishment is that he has to talk to the lady every Tuesday and Thursday. In the end Mitchel starts to open his feelings to Wootie but what does she stay? I like Mitchel because he can outsmart people. He outsmarted a kid named Trotter by telling he was on tape confessing that he stole a kid's really fancy bike. The tape recorder wasn't really on nor did it have a record button. There was another time where Mitchel out smarted a lady. The lady lost her cat and he and Trotter where hiding in the bushes and they started to meow to trick the lady that her cat was there. The lady heard the meow but something bad happened. In the story the words where very easy to understand. The words where not that difficult, though they where interesting so it made it easy to read. Even the words where easy to follow the writer made the common words mind blowing, so I thought that made the book interesting. The best part of the book was that the writer used eye catching words like "I picked up a golden brown leaf.
This book could be used to teach a lesson. That if you do something to another person, it can cause you pain or you can meet a new friend. This is my first time reading this book and I still remember id word used in the text. I recommend this book to teens because it shows what happens when you get in trouble with the law. This book has a little humorous side to it. I recommend this to teens but it still fun to read even though you may not be a teen.

3 out of 5 stars Doing time online.......2005-01-04

Doing time online is a great book! A boy named mitcell is told by a police officer to go on the in computer at the police station every day after school becouse of what mitchels worst enemy did to him. I think his name was Troy. Troy was a bad kid. What did Troy do?
One night mis armstrong lost her cat and after a while troy found out about it. When mrs. armstrong was out looking for her cat Troy made Cat sounds. Mrs.Armstrong thout it was her cat and went down the stairs and broke her arm. Troy blamed it on Mitcell and Mithell had to talk to a old person from the nersing home on the computer fo about a month.

Mitcell is tall with dark black hair mostly wears blue jeans. Our diffrences are: If anyone tried messing with me i would go tell a police officr or someone,I am a girl and he of course is a boy, I hate going outside. Our simularities our: we bouth have short hair,we stand up to peaple if we can not get gelp, and that is about it.

Like I said in the first paragraph, doing time online is a great book. The reason I like this book is it is exiting and adventuris. My favorite part is When Mitcell is tallking to ruthy ant she said, When my sis was younger she could never pronounce my name and it always came out wottie and it stuck.
I would recommend this book to a friend.

4 out of 5 stars Learning from chatting with elders.......2004-12-16

This book is an awesome book if you love to chat online and like to be on the computer. It is about a boy who gets into trouble and has to chat with this elder woman at Maple Grove nursing home. He did something that he thought was funny but it got somebody hurt in the end. This woman isn't your average sweet old lady she is very independent and very strong. She gives Wottie some advice about everything. Wottie's dad is never home because he works way far from home so he gets home late and he makes Wottie cook dinner and do his homework and then allows him to answer a trivia question every night before he gets home so he can learn to find things on his own and get more educational skills. There is a lot of setting in this book. I mean he is at school and then the police station and then home. I think that someone who loves a short and sweet mystery book then you will enjoy this book. This is who i recomend it to.

    4 out of 5 stars Pretty good Done-in-one-Sitting book.........2002-12-14

When my librarian first explained to me this book, she said that this boy did something bad & had to chat with an eldrly person for 30 minutes twice a week as punishment (the plot of this story). I thought that we'd have some criminals here like in "Zach's Lie," or even "Holes." But, this wasn't that big of a misdeed. Well, yeah, it was, but...

Let's just say when you're reading the book & enjoying it, this is a four-star book. When you think back to the plot, it doesn't make all thaqt sense, and you'll probably think of it as an average book.(3, 3 1/2 stars)(note: for such a short book, the character set was VERY well-developed. Even Wootie, who will only be heard by writing) The only five-star piece of writing was with Troer & the _ _ _ _ . I thought that that was very clever.

Some of this has to do with the label. I AM above the suggested reading age (grades 3-5), but I think that this book should be for dudes/duettes 7-10.

If you're 7-10, enjoy this book, but I'd wait 'till it comes out in paperback.

The Arte Povera movement, similar to other movements of its time such as Conceptual Art and Process Art, brought about a radical redefinition of art itself, and provided an alternative to the increasingly hegemonic art trends of the day. Arte Povera: In Collection examines a significant nucleus of historical works of the Arte Povera movement from three important collections: the Museum of Contemporary Art Castello di Rivoli, the Galleria d'arte Moderna in Turin, and the recent acquisitions of the Fondazione CRT in Turin. Included here are 90 works by the leading protagonists of the Arte Povera movement: Giovanni Anselmo, Alighiero Boetti, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Luciano Fabro, Jannis Kounellis, Mario Merz, Marisa Merz, Giulio Paolini, Giuseppe Penone, Michelangelo Pistoletto, and Gilberto Zorio. The book focuses on these artists' legendary works from the 60s and 70s, but also includes some recent work from each artist. In addition, the book features new, unpublished essays by each of the artists--except for the deceased Boetti--as well as historical texts by major art critics Tommaso Trini, Harold Szeemann, Jean Christophe Amman, and of course Germano Celant, who coined the term ''Arte Povera'' in 1967.

This beautiful artist's book accompanies the Hayward Gallery travelling exhibition curated by artist and filmmaker Tacita Dean. Dean approached the task of selecting the works for this exhibition and this book as she does the making of her own work: with intuition as a guide, and a certain openness to coincidences and emerging themes.

                        Book Description

This collection of black-and-white drawings made by Marisa Merz between 2001 and 2004 rises from the complex movements of her hand as it explores the space of the drawing surface, maniacally repeating and insisting on the stroke of the pencil, existing as if in a graphic trance.

                              Book Description

This remarkably clever, endearingly sweet book for children brings to life the art of Arte Povera, telling the Tales of Stone and More in short passages that describe the work of artists like Giovanni Anselmo, Alighiero Boetti, Jannis Kounellis, Mario Merz, and others who use stone, glass, wood, and fabric to create their works of art. It teaches that stones can think, that clothes thrown in a room become a rainbow, and that trees are infinitely more glorious than skyscrapers. The text and pictures will fire the imagination of readers young and old, inspiring them to think of how they can make art in their bedrooms and backyards out of things they find in their houses and neighborhoods.

                                Book Description

Once upon a time, a Little Girl lived in the Land of Keep-Still, where no one ever moves. But she did not want to keep still and this made her very unhappy. Fortunately she had a friend, the Fisherman, a foreigner who came from the sea and who could make a sail and a pair of shoes out of his magic threads. With these, the Little Girl was able to put to sea, finally able to travel around the world--until she felt the need to come home to the Land of Keep-Still. Growing up, the Little Girl realizes that fate, powerful and inexorable like the wind, has remarkable strengths, and she decides to harness those strengths using an enchanted violin given to her by her friend from the sea. An impulsive tale, born of a chance encounter between two special women--artist Marisa Merz and author Paola Mastrocola--The Land of Keep-Still is the latest addition to the Favola dell'Arte series, dedicated to introducing children to contemporary art. Inspired by Merz's powerful artwork, Mastrocola has written a poetic tale that presents a parable about the difficulty and joy of living.
