4 out of 5 stars Execellent Resource.......2007-07-08

This is an excellent resource that will help you understand and review several concepts in the PMBOK Guide. The only problem is that the answers provide quotes from the PMBOK Guide and no explanations. The questions are simplistic: may be good for the CAPM exam, but not for the PMP exam.
To prepare for the PMP Exam, I used the PMP Exam Quicklet by Paul Sanghera, which contains very realistic questions.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent quiz reference.......2007-03-13

I will be taking my exam the first weekend in April and I feel that this book is an excellent tool to help you prepare. One of my co-workers who just took her exam said she saw 2 questions from the book on her actual exam. She passed and I am confident that I will pass also.

3 out of 5 stars Not for PMP.......2007-02-22

Be warned that it doesn't contain the same type of situational questions that you will find in the PMP test. While these simple questions about concepts in the PMBOK might help you to practice for the CAPM test, the author doesn't even claim that the book will help you prepare for any test.

I bought this little book because I wanted to practice a little more, and because it was on sale. I finished it in less than two hours and never touched it again. A 100% success rate with these easy questions doesn't mean that you are prepared to pass the PMP test.

5 out of 5 stars Nothing Better Than The Source!.......2007-01-09

I started off taking the classes to get my 23 credits to qualify for the CAPM exam. After I finished the schooling and started taking practice test I found I wasn't getting enough of the answers right. The second thing I did was order the Aileen exam prep guide and some flashcards but I ran into the same problem as before lol.

I always heard that the PMBOK is so hard to understand etc. When I actually took the time to read it for myself I found it informative. It's not something you read in a sitting but it's not impassible. I was reading a little each day and as of this writing on the last the chapter of the book.

Buying test prep materials is tricky because some authors give you their watered down version of the PMBOK but when the test comes they are testing on the words phases and process from the PMBOK not someone else's rendition of the book.

It's worth the investment. You can finish it in a month there are only 12 chapters. I recommend you do nothing but read the book first. Second take the classes/training. Third order a test prep book and flash cards.

5 out of 5 stars Great Study Guide.......2006-11-07

The Q&A guide points out the key area of the PMBOK. It helps users to focuse of the key study area.

5 out of 5 stars Best Blaze ever!.......2007-06-01

I had never read Kent before, so I don't know if she is always this great, but this one kept me up until nearly 3 am to finish it (and I'm one who loves my sleep! ;)

It's a friends-to-lovers plot, which is admittedly a favorite theme of mine, and it is so much better written than a lot of Blazes I've tried. Not that they are *bad*, but in general they are light, uncomplicated reads for me when I'm in the mood for a quickie.

This one had a lot of depth to the characters, and Kent is amazing at getting into both of their heads and hearts. She is a very descriptive writer, and whether it's about a touch or a glance, or even an outfit or the weather, she makes it feel real.

Then there is the sex - whoa, boy! I read Blazes for the steamy action, but Kent's love scenes are the hottest I have read outside the erotica genre. And there is also the tenderness present that you would hope to see in two lovers who are also friends, which makes it extra nice.

And I never thought I would say this about a Blaze, but this one made me tear up! Things get really emotional between the h&h, because he is the first to admit he is in love and she is the one who has a hard time dealing with her feelings. That's a nice change of pace from the usual "guy can't commit" plotline, and Kent had me agonizing for the poor fella!

It's just so, so, so good! Please give it a try :)

She'd made a deal with the devil.... and he took her to heaven. ** Chloe Zuniga, VP of gIRL-gEAR cosmetics and accessories divisions, needed a man to save her reputation- even though her enjoyment of the opposite sex and her potty mouth was what got her into trouble in the first place. Her old friend Eric Haydon agreed to be her "steady date" for three company events- if she granted him three wishes. ** Eric just knew that he and Chloe were going to be lovers sooner or later. He simply had to figure out when and how. And once he'd done that, there was nothing left to wish for... except Chloe's heart along with her body.

5 out of 5 stars Better than the first one, All Tied Up.......2002-04-12

I cannot stress this enough. Its better than the first part, All Tied Up, since this author is concentrating on the stories of girl gear. This is one of the best Blaze novels I've read so far. Well, this one and Body Contact,31.

5 out of 5 stars Delicious! -- Very highly recommended.......2002-03-09

In ALL TIED UP, Macy Webb begins this adventuresome series with a scavenger hunt when she gathers the other partners of gIRL-gEAR and some male friends for "game night." Present are Chloe Zuniga and Eric Hayden, who teamed up for the scavenger hunt. Now Macy's scavenger hunt is having repercussions she never even imagined for Chloe and Eric.

In Chloe's experience, men "preferred their women on a pedestal, between the sheets, or three paces behind." But what she wants is a connection, a bond, a sense of completion, and, of course, great sex. Although she doesn't want a relationship with him, Eric does convey a hint of the sophisticated, cultured movie star finesse of her fantasies. He proved himself during the month they spent on the scavenger hunt, when Chloe and Eric shared meals, movies, and fun, not to mention one soul-stirring kiss. Although they've not spent time together since the conclusion of the scavenger hunt, Chloe turns to Eric. Her potty mouth and bad girl reputation has her in trouble with the partners of gIRL-gEAR, and Chloe needs Eric's help with her pro-active, career-saving strategy. She needs an escort.

A month of Chloe's company proved to Eric that she is simply covering her vulnerability with her big, bad attitude. Even though he does not envision a future with Chloe, he still does not appreciate her turning him down for dating. Now she needs an "escort" to official business functions. Eric does not want to become Chloe's arm candy, but if it gets him what he wants, he'll compromise. She needs a date to three major functions. In return he wants three dates - kind of like three wishes. Her only condition is that the possibility of sex out is of the equation. From a girl who's been through sixteen men since the beginning of the year, and it is only April, Eric demands a lot. He gives even more, and that scares the hell out of Chloe.

Once again Alison Kent presents a dynamic romance certain to curl readers' toes with NO STRINGS ATTACHED. Kent has a gift for bring her prose a sense of immediacy, with descriptions that keep the pulse racing. Chloe's calculated manipulations of the male species backfires in the most wonderful of ways when it comes to Eric. He's the only man who's ever managed to look beyond her sexy blond appearance to the brains, beyond her negative attitude, and still understand her desire for chivalry. Eric may not be Cary Grant, but he matches Chloe's passion, energy and stamina. This battle of the sexes will delight, tantalize and entertain with Kent's indomitable style. Delicious! Very highly recommended.

      Samantha Brady's to-do list is simple . . .

Sell her novel, have a baby and find the man of her dreams -- though not necessarily in that order. Trouble is, she has writer's block, hasn't had a date in months and lives platonically with her best friend, Jack Turner, the only man who has ever met her Prince Charming criteria.

She and Jack have always avoided romantic entanglements of any kind, especially with each other. No strings. No fuss. No heartaches. Until one night of too much wine and too few inhibitions takes their friendship to a whole new level.

Sam's to-do list -- and her life -- are turned completely upside down. She's realized she wouldn't mind a "string" or two -- but is she too late to keep her perfect guy from walking out the door?

3 out of 5 stars No Strings Attached.......2007-01-08

Samantha Brady is a struggling writer and she lives with her best friend, Jack Turner, in New York City. Recently Samantha has decided that she wants to have a baby. She doesn't have a boyfriend right now and although she has always been secretly attracted to Jack, he is not an option since they are just good friends. Jack thinks Samantha having a baby is a bad idea considering her situation, but he supports her as best he can.

While heading back from a trip visiting Samantha's family, a sudden storm has Jack and Samantha spending the night at a motel. Close quarters, too much whiskey and the night is spent in each other's arms. Sleeping together changes everything and soon Jack and Samantha are drifting apart. Then Samantha discovers a very welcome surprise as the result of their passionate night.

When Jack discovers Samantha's secret he intends to do the honorable thing, but Samantha is convinced that Jack really wants a woman with no strings attached. Jack will have to prove her wrong before he loses everything.

No Strings Attached is a very emotional story. I really felt for Samantha. At times, I was angry at Jack for being so blind to their relationship. I really liked Jack and Samantha as characters and I was whole heartedly rooting for them the whole time but, I also felt that since they knew each other really well, their misunderstandings and assumptions were out of character; Samantha's family and her best friend Patty are not very endearing characters either. No Strings Attached has many heart warming and touching moments as well as a happily ever after ending, but the journey to happiness had too much angst for me.

`No Strings Attached' by Mille Criswell modern day romance that explores heartache, pregnancy and friendship. Sam and Jack have been friends since they were little kids and they have been living together as friends for six years until everything changes. This has a similar story as `Don't Even Think About It'
by Lauren Henderson but with less misery.

      3 out of 5 stars Unrealistic dialogue.......2005-11-05

I really wanted to like this book. I have read other books by this author and have enjoyed them, but I cannot get past the dialogue. People just don't converse like that in real-life America.

      5 out of 5 stars Cute.......2005-11-01

I had never read Millie Criswell before, but this looked cute. I had it for a while before I actually read it. Glad i finally got around to it. This was a cute story and I liked it. It had a serious plot to it, but it was kept lighter so it stayed a fun story. I enjoyed it and am looking into other books by this author.

4 out of 5 stars More than just a romance novel.......2005-09-19

Samantha Brady has seen limited success in her career as a writer (as well as a series of dead end jobs to supplement her income). She is still waiting to sell that great American novel. When she decides she wants a baby but not a hubby, she signs up for in-vitro with no success. Her best friend and roommate, Jack thinks she is crazy, but supports her decision.

Everyone thinks that the two belong together. But neither wants to do anything to jeopardize the long-standing friendship, so they do not act on their feelings. Jack, having a horrible home life as a child found refuge at the Brady house, and became a surrogate son to her parents. But a drunken night of passion with Jack results in pregnancy.

Keeping the truth from Jack since he does not want marriage or a family, the two drift apart as neither of them can get over the new direction that their relationship has taken. Now estranged, Jack and Samantha try to move on, with Samantha preparing for motherhood, and Jack continuing his womanizing ways, all the while realizing that Samantha is what he wants. But will she trust that he loves her as opposed to feeling obligated due to the child she is carrying? The reaction of the family rings true - especially the reaction of a very conservative father coming to terms with his perfect princess growing into a woman.

There is also a secondary romance with Samantha's former NFL player brother and his mousy girlfriend who must have a makeover in order to jumpstart his feelings.

Overall, it is a cute story about finding love in the oddest of places - in the arms your best friend. But it is more than a romance; there is also the well-written, poignant and alienated relationship between Jack and his parents. Criswell just keeps getting better.

If you're a fan of Henson's work you'll absolutely die for this book! It's got great coverage over his past movies to 91. Some include The Dark Crystal, The great muppet Caper, and my personal favorite: THe Labyrinth!

      5 out of 5 stars awsome!!!!!!!.......1999-04-25

This book is great if you want to learn more about the movies that the creature workshop did instead of Jim Henson. Although it does talk alot about him it's more about the workshop he created and left behind. It's a grest book if you love Jim Henson's work and I do !Get it it's great!

Since skipping school to go and watch 'Labyrinth'. I've been fascinated with animatronics. The creatures produced both during and after Jim Henson have been both imaginative and captivating. 'No Strings Attached' is a wonderful book of mechanical invention, artistry and imagination. Being someone who loves to watch 'The making of..' specials on TV whenever a new special-effects blockbuster comes out, I found this book catered to my 'Wow! How did they do that?' curiosity. I am a great fan of puppetry but I am a biased fan of Jim Henson...if you buy this book, turn to page 112, the girl kneeling on one knee on the bottom right corner is yours truly!

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant look into the movie puppeteers work.......1998-01-03

An outstanding piece of work, beyond overdue, but worth the wait. This beautifully presented, comprehensive book covers "Jim Henson's Creature Shop's" work from its very inception, including such Fantasy films as `The Dark Crystal' and `Labyrinth,' right up to their most recent stunningly realistic contributions in `Babe,' `101 Dalmatians,' and `Buddy.' Includes glorious full colour photographs of what happened behind-the-scenes, and plenty of anecdotes from the people who were there explaining the evolution of ideas into finished product.

Any fan of the legendary Jim Henson, of puppeteering, animatronics, or any kind of Special Effects would love - and be enthralled by - the hundreds of never-before-seen photographs of the masters of their craft creating their wonderful characters, and at how the late Jim Henson's influence even now instills the performers and craftspeople with the drive to be nothing less than the best at what they do.
I so dearly wanted to meet Jim one day; this book may be the closest I'll get. Still, I may be fortunate enough to instead meet his son Brian, who has taken over from his father admirably.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book. It will be an inspiration to all who read it.

4 out of 5 stars No Strings Attached by Nancey Flowers:An PeoplewholoveGoodBooks Review.......2005-11-10

Felice Jackson is successful, beautiful, and intelligent but is unlucky in love. After catching her husband ( and business partner) in bed with their secretary, she is afraid to love again until she meets Aaron Crane, a basketball player who sweeps her off her feet and with whom she allows herself to fall in love with....that is until the shocking and unexpected truth comes out. Tired of men and their lies, Felice decides to change her approach and develops a new attitude. She sees nothing wrong with sleeping with 4 or 5 men at a time with "no strings attached". Meanwhile her best friend Sylvah is dealing with the breakup of her 20-year marriage, so in celebration of Sylvah's birthday, Felice, Sylvah, and their other 2 closest friends, Candace and Alana decide to take a trip to Jamaica to get their "grooves" back.

It is then that their lives begin to travel on an unexpected path, Candace makes a mistake that may cost her everything and the ladies begin to see Alana for who and what she truly is as she allows her jealousy of Candace to show the real "Alana". Sylvah decides to embark on relationships with not one but two men: much younger but successful Jason and handsome but white Hunter. After tragedy strikes, Sylvah must decide which direction her life will go. After suffering recurrent nightmares, Felice's past begins to catch up with her and all of her skeletons begin to fall out of the closet as shocking secrets come to light.

No Strings Attached is one of those stories that will have you thinking long after you put it down, it's a wonderful story about friendship, forgiveness, and self-redemption as Felice not only learns to forgive those who have hurt her but also herself. It is a must-read, as it is a page-turner from beginning to end. The ending leaves the door open for a sequel as this is only the beginning for Candace and her story will continue in "One Night Stand", can't wait to see what happens next!!! 5 out of 5 stars A Woman After My Own Heart.......2005-11-10

First let me say kudos to Ms. Flowers for writing such an endearing book. As I was reading this book, I just knew that she must've been peeking into my world. I happen to be newly single and I'm out and about dating and my new motto is "No String's Attached." However, my husband is not my business partner and I didn't catch him sleeping with my secretary. I probably would have killed him if I were in Felice's shoes.

Nonetheless, No Strings Attached is a witty book full of humor and real life situations. I can't say the amount of times I reflected and saw myself in the main character Felice's shoes. The chapter titles had me laughing out loud and the dating scenarios of Felice will keep you turning the pages. The other character Sylvah was also a trip. She's recently divorced (you'll applaud her for leaving her asinine ex-husband) and finds herself in a love triangle. She has to choose between dating a man that is 13 years her junior and a man who is close to her age, but he's white. In this day and age interracial relationships shouldn't be an issue. However, sometimes it's not just all about you, it's about the people around you and Sylvah has to decide whether love will conquer all in both cases. Eventually she does end up with one, but I won't say.

Then there are Felice's other two good friends, sweet and shy Candace, that is until she goes to Jamaica and her world begins to fall apart and Alana. Now that chick has problems, but we all know someone just like her, even if she's not in our circle. Most people try to stay away from folk like Alana, but she added a good mixture to the book.

I truly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the sequel One Night Stand the previous book, Shattered Vessels. Ms. Flowers keep up the good work. You are definitely doing your thang!

5 out of 5 stars For those who like to play the songs..........2002-01-08

I love this book, because it makes it much easier for me to sit at home at the piano and pick out the notes for the songs.

It gives the piano notes, guitar chords, and lyrics, so you can sit at home and recreate the whole sound...well, as much as you can without the boys.

I definitely recommend this book of sheet music for any *NSYNC fans who like to play the songs off the cd player or cassette player.

How Many Strings Will Fray Before A Family Business Falls Apart?

Nancy, George, and Bess are going on a vacation to Paris, and Nancy's father pulled a few strings to get the girls some quaint accommodations:
a tiny top-floor flat in a small three-story house on the Ile Saint Louis. The first floor of the building is a puppet theater, museum, and shop, owned by twenty-seven-year-old Mimi Loiseau, who lives on the second floor.

Mimi's great-grandmother had always hinted at a unique family treasure. She died before she could tell Mimi what, or where, it was. Now someone is stealing puppets and vandalizing apartments. Could this someone be looking for the long-lost treasure? Nancy's on the scene just in time to help save Mimi's business -- and to make sure they all get home in one piece!
