Very good.......2007-04-05
The only thing it is missing is a Don't Miss section. I would have preferred if he did some kind of rating for what he liked. But excellent otherwise
THE ONLY TRAVEL BOOK FOR HAWAII YOU NEED TO USE.......2007-01-04
This book is an excellent guide to all of Hawaii. From the great maps to the history, people, government, arts and music, and even the language. This is not your usual travel guide - it has so much info in it going above and beyond any other travel guide to the Islands.
It is a thick book to take with you, but well worth it. You will not be disappointed.
Best guide to Hawaii in print.......2006-03-01
Obviously includes all the "A" list sites but everything else.
If you get bored, don't blame this book.
A Good Full Overview.......2006-02-27
Even though this is thick and heavy, it was not as cumbersome as I thought it would be. The index is excellent. I read it in my room everyday before taking off for hither and yon. I visited Oahu and Maui and especially enjoyed my days in Honolulu because of all the history and beautiful Iolani Palace grounds.
SO WHAT if it's over a thousand pages? BUY IT!.......2004-09-28
If you want to take a G-rated Hawaii vacation with the spouse and kiddies, this book tells you how to do that. If you want to leave Wifey (or Hubby) back at the hotel and have an X-rated night in Hawaii, this book helps there, too. If you want to visit all the places that the locals know about but never mention to the tourists, then you definitely want this book. And if you read the first part of this book on the flight from the Mainland to the Islands, you'll know the basics about Hawaii, and you'll actually appreciate what the tour guide shows you and tells you.

As much info as a phone book.......2007-05-08
This book contains little more information than a phone book. I can't imaging how anyone would find it useful. I bought this and Frommer's Hawaii with kids and Open Road's Hawaii with kids both had a great deal more info.
Concise, informative and nicely written........2006-05-10
I've got several Hawaii guide books and this one goes straight to the point. I want to know where to stay, eat, play golf and hang-out at the beach, not have my hand held, and this book is a useful directory. Some of those other books are full of minute details and maybe you could carry one along as a supplement if you need some sort of detailed description of a cute hotel lobby or a glowing restaurant description (but just wait until they change the chef!) Overall, I found the Everything Hawaii Guide exceptionally useful and I very much appreciated and enjoyed the chapters dealing with Hawaiian culture and history, plants and animals, and the little histories of each island. The chapter on the "forbidden islands" was also a treat as were special things here and there such as hiking and ocean tips. I'm ready to go again!
Don't waste your money........2006-03-30
Our family is planning a trip to the Islands so I decided it would be nice to have a guide written specifically for families. Well don't waste your money on this one. I think this is the worst guide I've ever owned. I expected details, descriptions, recommendations. Mostly what I got was a list of hotels or activities containing addresses and websites. If your looking for a family friendly guide, try Frommer's Hawaii with kids. Now thats a guide.

Someone thought they were me, and reviewed this book. Crazy planet, eh? But I imagine all kind of stories associated with this book, one of them must surely be the actual printed version.
Besides, if you like the idea of this book, what do you need my opinion for? Make up your own mind. Get in gear, clean, create, improve, help, touch, and love something right now! Go ahead! Oh, and buy this book, he he he.

So sad last book from Sweet Valley High.......2006-03-06
Only book I kept from the series. Had to get rid of the others, as I had too many books for me to keep. Will miss reading about Liz and Jess's escapades. I did enjoy them, all of them. Will also miss the rest of the characters in the book, Lila Fowler being my favorite, after Liz and Jess of course. Hopefully Ms. Pascal will pick up again on Liz and Jess in the future. Perhaps have them married with families and jobs. Now wouldn't that be interesting?????
Twins are turning 18 and graduating.......2005-01-05
The Twins are having a birthday,They are turning 18.The party is at The Riot.Jessica doesn't go because she fell asleep. Before one of the Twins can graduate,She can do a Pasta dish.I forgot the name of it. Ken and Maria Celebrate Olivia's death together,so do The Twins,They lost Olivia 1 year ago on their birthday or the day after their birthday.
Disappointed that Life did not Mimic the Book!.......2004-07-08
I read about the SVH twins over 10 years ago and had such high hopes for high school, boys and life in general. The stories were so well written that the TV version was definitely never warranted. I hungered for a more eventful life like the one's in the stories to no aveil... My high school didn't even have a football team!
I believer that the imagination of today's generation of kids has been severely altered by the boob tube, and that we seriously need more well-written books such as these.
great.......2003-06-18
This book was great. I loved how Elizabeth did that cooking test for Jess and she failed it! The only thing that I absolutley hated is that this book was sooooo different from the university series. The author shouldv'e wrote them in order but instead she wrote the svh, svu books and the rest in a different order. some things she wrote were just not possible. for example, elizabeth saw olivia in SVU, but she already died in svh!! she definitley shouldnt have done that. finish one series, then go on 2 the next!
Coming to a End.......2003-06-09
I have to say that this book made me a little sad since this will be the last book. Jessica gets mad at Elizabeth because she might be going to Oxford and Liz didn't tell her. I thought that too much of the book was focused on Jessica and Elizabeth's fight, I would have liked to seen them make up and have more fun together instead of fighting for the most part of the book. Some of the old characters are also briefly mentioned. Andy, Tia, and Conner still plan to go on their road trip, but there is something that happens that might not make their road trip as fun as it could be but everything works out in the end. Maria and Ken remember Oliva. The graduation storyline was great, I would have liked their celebration of finally graduating from high school to have been longer, I thought that it was cut kind of short. Overall though it was a good book. I re-read Double Love since I haven't read it in a long time, and boy have things changed. When Sweet Valley High was changed to Sweet Valley High Senior Year I at first didn't like the change at all in the characters and the addition of the new characters. But after reading Double Love I have to say that Sweet Valley Senior Year was a whole lot better. In Double Love Jessica sounds like a very immuture brat, and in the Senior Year books she has matured a lot. To bad the author didn't start the college series book after she ended this series because I think that it would be much more interesting to follow Jessica, Elizabeth, Tia, Maria, Ken, Conner, etc through life after high school. I also like the ending with Elizabeth and Todd.

Jessica/Jeremy/Jade love triangle.......2005-04-01
When Jade Wu starts working at House of Java,She starts to fall in love with Jeremy Aames, and starts to date him, too. Connor is starting to hit the bottle, while his mother is a recovering alchoholic.Jade gets a belly ring. I always wanted one,but Kim Possible doesn't have one. Stripperella does.
Book 18 in SVH Senior Year Series.......2003-05-13
For the past couple books ("Three Girls and a Guy" and "Backstabber"), Tia Ramirez and Conner McDermott have been more than just friends. Conner's been getting a little help from his mother's hidden scotch supply, though. That's an odd switch, considering his mother is a "recovering" alcoholic and he, apparently, is turning into one.
Liz Wakefield is still completely clueless about Tia and Conner's latest make-out session (in "Backstabber"), though, so she's still talking to both of them. In my opinion, she's forgiven them way too easily.
The three J's--Jade, Jeremy, and Jessica--are spotlighted a little more in this book, with Jeremy Aames going out with Jade Wu (She gets a navel piercing on their date. Surprisingly, I got a little queasy reading it, even though I've pierced that area myself.), which makes Jessica Wakefield more jealous. So, in turn, Jess tries to make him jealous by flirting with random guys, with some success.
"As If I Care" is an ok addition to this series, primarily revolving around the Jade/Jeremy/Jess love triangle. Nobody knows about Andy Marsden being gay yet (well, that changes, though, in the last few pages. To be continued in "It's My Life", I guess.), but at least he's looking into support groups. There are also some good notes, journal entries, instant messages, e-mails, as well as a suitable, if depressing, haiku by Conner on page 139.
A couple of triangles.......2001-06-03
OK, I love the SHV series. One of my friends got me hooked and now I can't stop. In this book, there are a lot of triangles of different sorts. First, the most obvious, Jessica, Jeremy, and Jade. Hello! Talk about a mystery there. Jessica still likes Jeremy, but only because he likes Jade. Jade knows that Jeremy and Jessica had a thing, but she went for him anyways. Now Jessica is jealous, Jeremy is confused, and Jade is just Jade. Second, the Ken, Ken's Dad, and Ken's dad's romance life. What a confusion this is. Ken had to lie to Asha because of his dad's mistake. Not good. He should have told her something else, something like, THE TRUTH!!! He shouldn'r have lied. I mean, yeah he knew he would have hurt her more, but still. Another triangle is Conner, Tia, and Liz. Now I know that you might say, oh, it's done, but I don't think it is. Even though Conner told Tia off, I don't think it was for good. Liz, on the other hand, is way too gulable for diaster. She just sets herself up for things. I don't know, maybe it's just me, or was this book one of the most unusual, yet most interesting yet??
This book is really good........2000-09-11
I really like Jeremy. I really enjoyed reading this book. The Jeremy/Jade/Jess drama was really good. Jade sure wasn't who she seemed to be. I thought before I read it that it was good that he had a girlfriend but now I"m glad he doesn't. What she did to him she deserves to be alone. I know now that Jess and Jeremy are gonna get back together I can't wait to read that. They are 2 of my favorite character. Last series I didn't like Jess but this series she's better and I even like her better then Liz who used to be my favorite charater. Poor Jeremy what happened to him was bad but I'm glad he found out what kind of girl Jade really is. I don't like her any more for what she did. At first I did bud din't know what kind of girl she really was. This book is really good. I really enjoyed it and i know you will to. I suggest you read it if you haven't its pretty good. I can't wait to read when Jess and Jeremy get back together they so like each other. At least Jess doesn't go around and cheat on her boyfriend like Jade did. I know she dumped him for WIll but she waited intil after they broke up and started kissing Will but Jade didn't. Even though she dumped Jeremy for that loser Will I know she deserves a great guy like Jeremy and vise versa for Jess. This is just a good book.
not one of the best.......2000-07-27
This book was not one of the best.I have read every sweet valley kids, twins, unicorns, high, senior year, and university and there was been some bad ones but this one was the worst. The whole book was about nothing, i mean nothing realy happened. You could skip this book and read the one after it and you wouldn't even know the diffrence.

Ten-Boy Summer.......2003-01-09
Ten-Boy Summer, by Janet Quin-Harkin, is a romance novel that's fiction. This story takes place in the summer.
In the first chapter of the last paragraph, it describes how these two girls Toni and Julie look. What happens in the story is that Toni and Julie are bored this summer and wanted something to do. So Toni says to Julie, "Who ever dates 10 boys at the end of summer is the winner!" You'll have to find out what happens in Ten-Boy Summer. The Author is clever and different when she writes.
I recommend this not to children under 10 years of age. If I could rate it 1-5 stars it could be 4 ½ stars. And this is a two thumbs up! People that would like this book are people whom like romance, friendship, and dating. I like this book, because of the first time I read it I was obsessed with it being my favorite book.
Good summer fun........1997-06-16
Jill and her best friend, Toni, are ready for excitement this summer and hopefully--love. They make a bet to date 10 boys each by the end of the summer. When Jill meets her dream boy, Craig, all bets are off. But, is Jill's friendship with Toni over if she gives up? Will Jill lose Craig if he finds out? Stay tuned...read the book

Jessica lies about Mom dying to get her way.......2005-01-26
When Mrs.Wakefield is tired all the time,Jessica suspects she has a cold ,and when it lingers on longer she thinks that it might be serious.Jessica wants the lead in the school musical,Carnival,When Mrs.Wakefield goes to the Dr.Costa's office,he says she has a lump on her neck.I can't think of the name of it.She says it could be cancerous,so when Caroline Pierce[The biggest gossip calls,Jessica says that her mother is very sick] Caroline says Mrs.Wakefield is dying, and now the whole school knows. When Dr.Costa calls on Friday Afternoon,It's not cancerous at all,and Jessica got the lead because Ms.McDonald thought that this was going to be Jessica's last Performance,so Dana Larson[Who will be leader of The Droids] in SVH drops out of the play. Jessica lied to everyone,so she does Steven's chores, and Elizabeth's chores for lying to everyone. She even got out of tests for lying.
This Book Was Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2004-12-29
I really enjoy the SV Twins and Friends books, and this is one of my favorites. The Twin's Mother has a big lump on the back of her neck, and it could be cancer. Their mother is always tired and very weak, and Jessice thinks her mother on her death bed! A girl at their school Caroline Pearce calls, and Jessice, of course, tells Caroline all about her mother. Caroline is one of the girls who love to gossip, and by the time the twins get to school, Everybody thinks their mother is dying (when deep down, Jessice knows that her mother is definetly not dying). She gets everyone's sympathetic sorrys. And, Jessica really wants to be in the school musical Carnival, and she wants everyone's sympathetic words to get her into the play easy-peasy. Elizabeth is furious when she finds out what Jessica is doing, Will Jessica get the part in the play?
Shallow.......2003-05-05
I found the main character in this book difficult to feel sorry for. The depth of feeling for her mother's welfare seemed incongruous with her behavior toward her siblings and "friends". She bosses, lies, begs, and schemes. But in the end is rewarded with a small solo part in the play, a new coveted sweater, and more undeserved admiration.
a good one.......2001-08-02
Jessica reveals her vulnerable side when her mother has tests for cancer. While leval-headed Elizabeth calmly goes about her business,Jessica has as over-active imagination aas always and is convinced her mother will die,and cries alot.People feel so sorry for the poor girl that they let her have the lead in the school play,no auditions needed. When Jessica finds out her mother has had nothing more than a flu,she has a hard time deciding whether she should tell people,or keep her part in the play.!
Getting caught up in exaggerations..........2000-12-16
I love the Sweet Valley Twins books. They're always so much fun to read. They are a great alternative to TV. In this story, Jessica Wakefield is convinced her mother is deathly ill. (Actually, her mother is ill, but not dying) The whole school hears of this "tragic illness," and gives Jessica special attention to make her feel better. But eventually, Jessica discovers she is enjoying the attention too much, and that she hasn't deserved all the treatment. It's very interesting, and really enjoyable. Often times, normal people get caught up in exaggerations just like Jessica did, and getting out of the situations is not always easy. This book is a fun read! Go ahead, give it a try!

written in 81 under a non de plume.......2006-08-10
and it shows.
Wow, one other thing it shows is how far Delinsky has
matured with her writing. Compare this to her "Coast Road", or "Lake News" and you will be stunned.
This is basically a 7.99 harlequin style romance.
The leads have to go through a lot of foolish misunderstandings before they get their happy ending.
The prose is very, very simplistic and stilted . Go ahead and count the times the word- thus - is used.
This is no layered examination of relationships.
For what it is, it is a quick easy read. You won't remember the characters afterwards.
Two people meet, they simply can't fight or deny the physical attraction.
A misunderstanding occurs and they go their separate ways.
Only to find one another 8yrs later. It takes them the whole book to learn how to communicate:} These are no young kids, either.
I have to say,in these older romance novels, these brutish men and their, chest beating ways just
don't read quite as comfortably in these somewhat enlightened days.
I expect if a man spoke to me or man-handled me like our
"hero" does in this book, I would have him charged with assault.
Buy it cheap and used, so you won't kick yourself for spending 8 bucks.
Sweet & Emotional.......2003-05-19
This book written early in her career under a psuedonym and republished under her name and a new cover.....is a good book but lacks the maturity of her later writings. However, it was refreshing and an easy read.
Sweet!.......2001-08-22
I’m always a sucker for sweet stories like these. This book made me very emotional. I can’t help but think of the bits of strange, special irony I found in this story. Devastating, scary, and yet loving, this story is one I didn’t particularly think I’d enjoy much, but trust me, I did. Being far from my home country, this book was strangely a comfort to me. I am a big fan of Delinsky’s.

Someone's going to have a baby!.......2005-03-26
Billie Winkler and Steven Wakefield are going to have a baby! Billie is pregnant! Elizabeth blows the top off a restauraunt called "Kitty's" I think it's where prostitutes hang out. She gets fired. Billie loses the baby by miscarriage.
Great again.......2002-10-19
Elizabeth works undercover to blow the top off a sexist restaurant that forces its waitresses to dress like prostitutes.(or popstars..).Meanwhile,someone else is pregnant!!
Excellent book!!.......2001-09-08
This book was great! Billie and Steven go through hard times, with a surprise ending. Jessica sees her ex-husband, Michael McAllery again, and is determined to prove she can handle anything. Even a new job. Elizabeth works undercover as a waitress for a sleazy night club. I loved this part of the storyline. She had to put up with a lot of perverted guys, but really told them off! The nightclub only allows women with large breasts to waitress it. Elizabeth does some padding and heads on in! It was really cool how she and the other waitresses showed those men a thing or two! This is a great book!
Some great lessons on REALLY growing up..........1998-11-18
Jessica has the unfortunate tendency to be flighty and boy-crazy, but with Steven's help gets a job. Hopefully, she'll learn what maturity is and realize the difference between deep love and infatuation. And that Lila...boy, does she learn a lesson when she gets fired from her job that the world does NOT revolve around her just because she's rich! Great job Liz did on exposing the porn business at Kitty's. Also great on how the other women stood behind her. I think Steven ought at be happy for Billie that she has musical talent and not pressure her into law. Sure, she may go away for a while, but REAL love is when you can spend time apart as well as together.
good.......1998-01-13
Pretty good. Billie is a really good character. But I think she and Steven needed to work things out so much better, though. Oh, and Liz posing as a waitress at that resturant was pretty cool, too.
