Must Read for All Christian Parents.......2007-10-13
I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 9 month old. The wisdom in this book is as applicable for them now as it will be as they continue into school age. I think this book is a must read. It gets to the heart of not just training our kids to behave well, but training their hearts to be a follower of Jesus. This book was recommended to me by a friend and I am so grateful! I have read this book by myself and now my husband is reading it along with me so that we can both approach disciplining our children with the same type of love we experience from God. I totally endorse reading this book if you feel like your children's behavior is out of hand or if you would like to approach disciplining your children with God's love before their behavior becomes problematic.
Don't Make Me Count To Three.......2007-09-28
I loved "Shepherding A Child's Heart" by Tedd Tripp. After reading it however, I was left thinking, "That was awesome but where do I go from here?" Ginger Plowman's book goes hand in hand with Tedd Tripp's. She gives practical wisdom that is easy to apply and really helps in the "training" of your children. It also helped to point out bad habbits and areas of laziness in my own training.
Good resource for young parents who may not read much.......2007-09-06
A very biblical approach to effective parenting. This book echos the principles in Tedd Tripps book Shepherding a Child's Heart. It would be an excellent resource for a parent who desires to train their children according to the scriptures but may not have a lot of time to devote to reading parenting books.
Revolutionized our approach to our children!.......2007-08-21
To be honest, I never feel like I have enough time to look at parenting books. However, this one came so highly recommended by my sister-in-law that I decided to give it a try. It is very easy to read, not only because of the style of writing, but because I realized the message contained in the book was spot-on. I read the book (as did my husband) and felt convicted that I had not been approaching discipline in a way that would point my children to Jesus Christ. Instead, I too often got impatient and scolded my kids out of frustration.
As a result of reading this book, both my husband and I have asked God to teach us to be loving, firm, and gentle in dealing with discipline. Most importantly, though, we have been encouraged to use Scripture constantly when working with our children. This is why I say this book, although not containing brand new revelation, revolutionized how we discipline our kids.
I was so moved by this book that I bought four more copies to give to friends who are about to have new babies!
The Truth Huts.......2007-07-29
I've noticed some negative feedback on this book, which baffles me. I've read this book cover to cover, and I know that many of the "accusations" have been misquotes or out of context. Ginger Plowman was very careful to give very specific guidelines and reasons for spanking ... but somehow that gets distorted into "fundamental" hogwash. The truth is, Ginger is right on target with her Biblical views and albeit hard for some to want to see, it is the truth. God does exhort us to use spanking ... but ONLY within the guidelines set forth in Ginger's book. It's not a permit to abuse ... but to lovingly ... LOVINGLY ... correct, and to teach the basic principle that bad choices lead to consequences. However, Ginger never suggests anything other than Biblical, loving correction ... and any reviews that suggest otherwise are rediculous.
And, I have a feeling that some of the negative reviews are just "cut and pastes" from people surfing the internet to defame any attempts at Biblical accounts of discipline. They didn't really review this book ... they sentenced the author because of her stand. Truth is, sometimes the truth hurts.

Caillou learns to count to ten!
Book Description
In this book, two of America's leading sex and gender experts show readers how to make sex more enjoyable by breaking away from the repetitive mechanics of intercourse. The book describes a path toward more a varied, playful, and intimate sexuality, debunking myths such as "impotence," "frigidity," and "foreplay;" indeed, the book shatters the myth that intercourse equals sex itself.
"Let Me Count The Ways":
* defines "outercourse", shows why it is a valuable addition to peoples' sexual vocabulary, and explains how readers can maximize their comfort and pleasure with it.
* shows how individuals and couples can increase their body's erotic functioning, and increase sexual satisfaction;
* includes dozens of ideas and exercises--such as an "intercourse sabbatical"--which will help partners relax, take advantage of a wide range of enjoyable sexual activities, and communicate about their concerns; and
* discusses how to break free from sexual stereotypes of the media, medical profession, and psychological profession, and overcome the idea that intercourse is a "normal" and necessary part of every sexual encounter.
More than a self-help book, this is an innovative, practical, tested program that will change the way that readers look at their sexuality--forever.

A new way of looking at sex.......1999-04-25
This book puts forth the bold idea that couples do not need to have intercourse to have sex, and then discusses how to have great sex without intercourse. The only downside to the book is that it's a little repetitive. It also is a good book for unmarried teens and young adults to read, because it shows them how to have positive sexual experiences without the risk of pregnancy or sexulally transmitted diseases.
Book Description
Baltimore Oriole shortstop Cal Ripken tells young readers how the road to success in any field is rarely traveled overnight. More than 50 color photos and illustrations.

A great book for kids and Ripken fans.......2000-07-30
I read this through in the bookstore, and was pretty impressed. In almost a children's version of "The Only Way I Know," Cal uses examples throughout his childhood and his baseball career to demonstrate how determination pays off, and how good character counts. For example, Cal tells about how, as a boy, he used to cheat his friends and brothers in board games, because he wanted to win so badly. The events that result from his cheating genuinely teach him that "cheating only cheats yourself." Cal had long since stood as a symbol of the American work ethic, for his 2632 cinsecutive game streak, not to mention his good sportsmanship and genuine love for baseball. This book might be a little too long or difficult to read for younger children to tackle by themselves, but it's a great choice for any family in which Ripken's image plays a central part. Young baseball fans and older Ripken fans alike will find something to enjoy here.
terrific.......1997-12-10
This book is a great book.Anyone could read it.It tells about Cal Ripken Jr.'s life and he does a great job putting in in a smaller form.I read this book and now I want to read his other book. A simply great book.

Eye-catching colors and format.......2004-04-30
This board book differs from other photo concept books in that it is a little larger than many, and it has simple, large, vibrant, colorful pictures. It is very eye-catching for my four-month-old twins, and they attend to it when they don't attend to other more "busy" photo concept books. I think they will continue to be interested in it as they get older too, when they can understand counting and labeling. Thus, I think it's a great book that can be used with very young babies just for visual interest, and for older babies and toddlers who are learning to label and count. We also have the Baby's World Baby Colors book which has the same format, and it also holds the same interest for my babies.

This book is phenomenal........1999-06-24
I bought this book at a yard sale, for my son when he was three. It made counting and number identification a breeze. He was able to understand the patterns and how numbers are repeated to make larger numbers. Before long he was reading the numbers in the grocery aisles, and counting up to and beyond 1000. I am now purchasing it for my daughter. This is a must have tool for young children.
