This is a truly unique book. These aerial photographs are masterful artwork. The photographer has captured some of the most enchanting spots in Greece with expert use of natural light. Strolling through this book over and over again makes me see a land that is even more beautiful from the air than from the land; makes me see a beauty that previously I could only feel. The photo of the Skiathos fisherman in his boat suspended in the sea is absolutely magical! Going through this book after you return from Greece takes you back. Reading it before you visit impels you to go. Exquisite!

Beautiful bird's eye view of Greece.......2000-03-31

Whether or not you've been to Greece, a breeze through this book gives you a feeling of being there, taking you to the country's most popular and beautiful sites from a perspective unavailable to most. Although the colors and uniqueness are difficult to portray, this comes very close. The photo of Zakynthos made me cry, and the photo of a village wedding stirred my soul. It is a beloved addition to my collection, and an album of understanding for those who have never seen it in person--simply look through its pages and see Greece.

I give this book 5 stars for what it presents, but I think the true heart of Greece lies not only in the chalk-white cliffs and Greek blue waters, but also in its people (which of course are difficult to photograph from the air!).

Absolutely mind-bogglingly beautiful photos.......2000-03-02

I have never in my life seen such absolutely incredible photos. If you want to see Greece at its absolute best, nothing else can compare. There are a number of photos here that by themselves are worth the price of the book. I can never recall having a book that is as captivating the 100th time I look through it as the first time. The picture of the fisherman in his boat seemingly floating on air is just simply the most amazing photo I've ever seen.

If you have any friends or relatives who are Greek or have been to Greece, this is absolutely the best gift you can give them.

Magnificent.......1998-03-23

I especially like shots that include the Mediterranean, which can be mind-bogglingly blue. Even those parts of Greece that look barren and stony when you're on the ground take on a whole new texture and beauty when photographed from the air.

I purchased this book while on a trip to Ireland. I was looking for a book that captured the beauty of the landscape that I had seen. This book does that ~ and much, much more. The photographs in the book are so beautiful that it's hard to believe that they are real. The colors and images are deep in color and rich with detail.

This coffee-table book covering Ireland scenes from the air will make an excellent conversation piece or addition to the home of any with a prior affection for the country. Aerial views provide spectacular geographic insight on the land's various changes and will appeal to any with a fascination for Ireland.

Stunning Photography of Ireland's Coasts.......2007-02-26

Kevin Dwyer's "Ireland - Our Island Home" highlights that island's heritage with a stunning collection of aerial photographs around Ireland's coastline. The images, shot from helicopters and small planes at low altitude and oblique angles, provide beautiful, detailed panoramas. The contrasting scenary ranges from the urban areas around Dublin and Cork to the wilds of West Ireland. A series of captions and miniature maps describe the subjects and the general locations where the photographs were taken.

The photographs are a reminder of how varied the Irish landscape can be, and how beautifully green it looks from the air (and from the ground). Lighthouses, farm fields, sheep pastures, and small villages mingle with old forts and modern port facilities. This book is highly recommended to those who have been to Ireland, and to those who plan to go. The book provides a unique perspective on a lovely country.

not just another coffee table book.......2004-05-23

We went to Ireland and picked up this book while we were there. I was afraid that it would be cheaper in the U.S. -- we paid 30 euros -- and it was. Still, we have no buyer's regret.

This is a set of stunning aerial shots of the Irish coastline. While we took what we think are very good pictures, these are beautiful pictures that we cannot duplicate because they are aerial. They will be treasured reminders of many of the places that we visited.

Great Gag Gift.......2004-08-16

If you have friend who's a Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon fanatic, manga/comic book lover, this would be a great gag gift. Page after page of hilariously bad dialogue. Spitting out horrible line after horrible line. The drawing isn't the greatest either. the characters have huge foreheads and bodies sometimes out of proportion. If nothing else, the only redeeming quality about this horrible exploitation of a movie franchise, is the main male character proclaims something along the lines of: 'She is sixteen, She is Perfect!'

The translation was melodramatic at best. The cultural note stating that an ancient chinese coin was worth about $1.40 was painful. My question was: "Is that in Ancient American Dollars?"
The artwork was good, but could not compensate for the piss poor narration and atrocious dialogue. I did not find the action to be particularly imaginative.

Beautiful artwork and an interesting story.......2003-01-12

Contrary to what most people seem to think, this comic is not based on the movie of the same name. The movie was based on the fourth in a series of five novels by Wang Du Lu. The comic begins with by adapting book three and, if I've heard correctly, will adapt all the way through book five.
Anyway, the comic itself is definitely a sight to behold. There is so much detail and the art is so fluid and the colors are so vivid it just demands a second read to take everything in. The story is very interesting, beginning with two thieves attempting to steal the Green Destiny (a sword with great power) which of course results in some truly beautiful fight sequences. The pacing is perfect. It never seems rushed or too slow. Once you sit down and start reading, you won't stop until it's finished. And that leads me to my only complaint: it's too short, especially for the price. Though it is a very entertaining read and the production values seem to be pretty high (it is in full color) the story itself is only about 80 pages long, and those 80 pages go by really fast. I finished it in only about 20 minutes, maybe less.
Overall, an excellent and entertaining graphic novel. I'm highy anticipating the next volume.

Top of the list of best movie-based graphic novels........2003-01-02

This is a stunning example of Andy Soto's dedication to both his art and the material. The result is profound, inspiring and a delight to read.

Mr. Soto excels under the pressure from meeting the Author's wife to research the book. This dynamic approach to interpreting the material provides a fresh story. Soto's illustrations create an intricate level of character design and rendering.

This is only book one. I greatly anticipate book two, but worry that this isn't being marketed to the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon movie fans.

Beautiful.. Delicate work...

In what I hope is going to be a long run of books, Andy Seto takes Wang Du Lu's classic martial arts series "The Iron/Crane Pentalogy" and transfers them into some beautiful Chinese manga.

If you ever wondered what happened before and after the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" this will be the series to watch.

Up until now Wang Du Lu's books have never been translated into English. Seto does an excellent job with the translation and captures the look, romance and spirit of the film with his outstanding delicate art.

This is a MUST buy for anyone who loved Crouching Tiger and would like to know more about the characters and story.

I just LOVED reading about Jen Yu and Dark Cloud! It's great when they had a duel and fell in love. Compared to the part about them, the stuff about Yu Shen, Mu Bai, and all the other characters were boring. I highly recommend this book, except when Jen Yu and Dark Cloud are in the cave...ew. But anyway, it's a cool book with beautiful illustrations.

This book was totally cool. I loved it when the book got to show Jen Yu as a girl and show her as an adult. I loved the drawings which are SO detailed. But I didn't really like the ending where this bandit wanted a match with Jen Yu because I wanted to read more!

This Book is Great!!
The artwork is extremely delailed, yet very cool. I think the artwork's Chinese, I'm not sure. There's no sensuality or any of that crap, but there's some cussing. The storyline's pretty good.

The two main characters are very good at fighting,(the guy being better then the girl) and there's 2 fights and the begining of one in this volume (there's 4 volumes).

The only reason that I didn't give this comic it's last star is becouse the color is to way to rich in some places. Also the fighting seens can be sort of confusing sometimes, but they're still awsome.
