Blasphemy! Heresy! Who does this man think he is, claiming to speak directly to God?! Jesus did it, Muhammad did it, the Jewish prophets did it, but none of their Gods had the sardonic wit or raw verve of Prophet Walsch's God. Neale Donald Walsch isn't claiming to be the Messiah of a new religion, just a frustrated man who sat down one day with pen in his hand and some tough questions in his heart. As he wrote his questions to God, he realized that God was answering them... directly... through Walsch's pen. The result, far from the apocalyptic predictions or cultic eccentricities you might expect, turns out to be matter-fact, in-your-face wisdom on how to get by in life while remaining true to yourself and your spirituality.

Book Description

Conversations with God Book 1 began a series that has been changing millions of lives for more than ten years. Finally, the bestselling series is now a movie, starring Henry Czerny (The Pink Panther and Clear and Present Danger) and Ingrid Boulting (The Last Tycoon). Produced and directed by Stephen Simon (producer of Somewhere in Time and What Dreams May Come) and distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films and Fox Home Entertainment, the theatrical release is set for October 27, 2006. The movie is the true account of Walsch (played by Cierny), who went from an unemployed homeless man to an "accidental spiritual messenger" and author of the bestselling book

5 out of 5 stars Buy Individual Books in Order--Replaces Bible.......2007-10-16

I regret not paying better attention to the reviewer of the collected set (one book with three parts and no covers). Do buy the books individually for a more distributed appreciation.

This will sound like sacrilege to many, but in my view these three books in combination replace the Bible as the foundation work for the future of Humanity as God in Community on Earth. There is so much common sense in all three books that I am just blown away.

Although I am 10-15 years late in appreciating the cultural creatives, integral consciousness, one from many, I sense an imminent renaissance of humanity, aided by the amoral wickedness of Dick Cheney and those foolish enough to obey his unconstitutional orders. These three books are our manual for re-establishing Humanity in Community.

Book 1 introduces a God who loves us unconditionally, whom we can have faith in, and who does not need to bloated religious bureaucracies of fear-mongering, hate-mongering, sexually-inhibited priests, imams, and rabbis (some exceptions not withstanding).

The bottom line is this: you can live in fear or live in love--unconditional love. Fear is exclusive, love in inclusive.

Here are the notes I kept:

* Core values are truth, patience, open mind, open heart.
* Arts are inspiration and help spirituality grow and be shared
* Feelings are the language of the soul
* God is found in the highest thought, clearest word, grandest feeling
* Receive and embrace God directly, not via false intermediaries
* Knowing, experiencing, being
* Point of life is to remember the One and rewind back from fragmentation
* You, not God, determines outcomes--live the change you wish to see (Gandhi)
* We choose heaven or hell on earth
* Only by accepting responsibility for ALL poverty and other high-level threats to humanity can we resolve them.
* Judgment fragments and lessens community
* There are no coincidences
* You attract what you fear through emotions
* Choose love, end war--Humanity is losing patience (see Blessed Unrest)
* Sex with joy and sympathy is the ultimate form of love
* Money is the ultimate divider, irrelevant to achieving peace & prosperity
* Stop accepting "original sin" and start remembering you are one with God.
* Passion is in the doing
* Freedom is living life without expectations
* When you are so good you no longer need God, this is God's greatest moment.
* Religions that stress damnation are flat out WRONG. Not possible to offend God, whose love is unconditional.
* Priests and others are a major part of the schism of demanding religions.
* Purpose of relationships is to have another with whom you can share your completeness.
* Love is BEING, not fulfilling a NEED.
* God asks that you love yourself and always make the highest choice.
* Act before thinking; emphasize being, follow a calling in life.
* Gratitude in advance--reciprocal altruism, is the highest path.
* Worry can be fatal. Stop worrying.

5 out of 5 stars An easy read that will get you to think..........2007-10-14

Perhaps it is time for Amazon to only let people comment on books if they have purchased them or can prove they actually read the book.

I'm willing to bet that anyone who gave this book less that 3 stars never read the book. It is a fascinating read. Many of us question the existence of God. This book gives you an alternative to the religious doctrines out there today and will get you thinking.

I loved his take on the Ten Commandments and Original Sin.

If God really gave us Ten Commandments is there any power in the universe, other than God that would give you the power to break them?

Original Sin was in fact one of God's greatest gifts it proved that mankind could think and act for themselves. All the animals on earth act out according to Gods laws... sharks swim and eat and reproduce. They aren't going to do anything their nature has not laid out for them since they first appeared on earth but man... Man will look around pick up a rock, smash it, stick it in a fire, turn it into a metal, shape it... and end up flying to the moon with.

This is a great read... I'd tell you the uplifting description of why God allows horrible natural disasters to take place but no... read the book... I'll give you a hint... it involves a play ground.

2 out of 5 stars just a comment.......2007-10-14

I havent read this book yet or any of the books, but i've seen it on the bookshelves. my youth leader sent an email to the department this past week advising volunteers to ck it out and beware of what our children are reading. parents are livid because the book appears on the scholastic reading list. i've read over some of the reviews and there is no overwhelming consensus either way good or bad. i do not think i will purchase the book for the sake of principle, but i will however look for it in my public library. how else can we help our children if we do not know what they are up against. upon completion of this book, i will of course draw my own conclusions and perhaps post a review. until then, i consider myself a biased individual leaning toward the word as presented in the bible. anything outside of that i consider blasphemy. training, learning, growing is a constant without it we parish.

be nice on here people. dont shut others down simply because their opinion differs from yours. state your position and leave it at that. it's up to the individual reading the review if they agree with you and are intrigued to read or not to read.

1 out of 5 stars Below normal comprehension.......2007-10-10

This book is utter dribble. Some passages remind me of text written by hippies high on drugs. When one starts having conversations with themselves that's usually not a good thing. I don't need Mr. Walsch to answer my questions, if I have questions to ask of God, I'll go the original source -- my bible. I have more confidence in the consistency and accuracy of the bible's answers than I do of a man responding to voices in his head.

And why do people assume God does not love unconditionally. Wasn't that the whole purpose of Jesus' sacrafice. Plus He shows his love the way any parent would. Didn't all of our parents punish us if we did something wrong like lie. They disliked that we lied and punished us for it, but that didn't stop them from loving us or continuing to provide for us.

5 out of 5 stars What's wrong with Texas?.......2007-10-08

For the record, I have read the entire series and found all to resonate with my soul and make total sense out of the universe--something I cannot say for many other "spiritual books", including the Bible. If you want to look at an interesting phenomena, check out how many negative reviews are coming out of Texas, home of our current president and death penalty capital of the western world. What would Jesus do with a mentally handicapped person who has had a tough time in life and committed some horrible crime?? Why execute him, of course---nevermind the fact that this breaks one of the very commandments these bible thumpers hold so dear.
Here's the bottom line. If you think the Bible is the end-all and be-all of spiritual thinking you will absolutely HATE these books. You will find them too threatening to the tenuous narrow minded thread that holds your little world together. If however, you would consider the idea that the bible is an unfolding history in the evolution of human thinking about God, and that perhaps IT TOO was written by human hands with good intentions but may contain some fallacies based on ancient primordial fears, then by all means, expand your mind, satisfy your soul and free yourself to be the person you meant yourself to be before you came here.

I bought this book, thinking that price and consolidation would be better, but in retrospect I wish I had bought the three individual books for their color covers and ease of carrying one at a time on trips, which is when I do most of my reading.

I'd like to thank the two guys in the Middle East that recommended this book to me. I have provided a detailed review for each of the three books at the links below.

5 out of 5 stars The book I've waited my whole life for.......2007-10-11

If you are spiritual but not religious, and are either turned-off by corporate church or just wondering about the whole concept of "the meaning of life", this is a must-read. Thank you, God for this message.

4 out of 5 stars Classic new age spirituality, loaded with insight.......2007-09-23

Just like Illusions, Seth Speaks, the teachings of Abraham (via Esther Hicks) and of course The Secret, Neale Donald Walsch's Conversations With God books offer up plenty of the New Age thinking about how we literally create our own reality through how we think, how our patterns of operating out of fear and not love are both personally and globally damaging, etc.

This book is a little different in that Walsch actually refers to God (big 'G') as the source of the information he relays to us. Like other books in this genre, if you get hung up on whether NDW actually DID have a conversation with God or if he made it up and these are his opinions, you're missing the point. There are many, many insights in here that just about anyone can benefits from. Read it and enjoy it for what you can benefit from and how it can change you for the better (similar to reading philosophy or poetry for example). The only thing slightly off-base was calling this a 'boxed set' when in reality, it's all in one book.

In any event, plenty of value in this collection; anyone thinking about their place in the universe and wanting to improve the quality of their lives will get something out it.

I just have one question, if these really are the words of God, did the editors at Putnam have to correct God's English? Wouldn't you feel a bit weird: "Oh, no, no, no ... You cant say that." or "This sentence is too long...You're falling in love with Your Own words."

5 out of 5 stars life changing.......2007-09-19

I have read this book and I was completely touched by it. Donald Walsh is an incredible author, asks the perfect questions and has very clear and clever style. This book has changed my life altogether. Even if you're a skeptic this deserve your attention as it will make you think hard about the way you've been taking life.

I will re-read this book over and have made every conscious effort to live my life by its words. In his conversations Donald exposes us to the other side of traditional beliefs, challenges our ideals and mores and pushes us to look at the bigger picture. Oh boy! how big that picture is...

This is an incredibly enlightening book that will alter any person's small way of thinking. If you understand it and enjoy it, then this book was meant to fall in your hands.

Blessed are the ones that are lead to this series of books. This is a trilogy; all 3 books must be read and preferably bought as a set or as one large condensed book like the one described above.

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING.......2007-09-14

This is such a wonderful book that anyone may read and feel that it is talking to them specificly. It allows you to have a different view on so many subjects. We are trained to think only certain ways. That we ourselves don't relize we have a mind of our own to really explore as to why things are. I enjoy this book so much. It's Amazing to me. This information needs to reach the people. To give them something more then what we have.

In Conversations with God: Book II, Neale Walsch and God resume their discussion and move on to larger topics than the personal issues addressed in their previous dialogue in Volume 1. For an "unedited transcript" of a conversation, Book II is remarkably well organized and articulate, as if Walsch anticipatd our "but what about" questions before we asked them. The peculiar pair discuss time, space, politics, and even kinky sex, but Conversations with God: Book II isn't here for just shock value. It is an honest look at some of the broad issues important to all of us on the planet, and a suggestion of how things might go if we are all willing to open our minds and have our own conversations with divinity. --Brian Patterson

5 out of 5 stars Buy the Individual Books--As a Set, Replace the Bible.......2007-10-16

See my review of Conversations with God : An Uncommon Dialogue (Book 1) for comments that apply to all three books. These books as a set replace the Bible as a foundation for Being with God as Community in Heaven on Earth.

Book 2 reiterates the common theme, forget religions, have faith, do love, BE the light.

Fastest way to find God is to find one another--ALL of us.

Fastest way to stop evil and hiding from evil is to tell the truth.

Seek, know, accept, praise, and embrace the truth at all times.

Humanity is ready for a new paradigm of communal belief in goodness. Everything we are experiencing today is an opportunity to remember and restore One from Many.

Religion is the opposite of spirituality.

Soul creates, mind reacts.

Energy at the root of everything.

USA in decline because religions have become falsely righteous and intolerant, divisive.

Lesson of Hitler: group consciousness that speaks of separation and superiority leads to a loss of compassion and virtual genocide.

LOTS of coverage of sex, almost a virtual manual for rediscovering the joy and love that should be the foundation for sex. Enjoy it, don't hide it, don't raise kids to be repressed about it.

Education is a mess, teaching knowledge (rote memorization of the past) instead of wisdom (learning to learn, learning to share). Teaching children WHAT to think instead of HOW to think.

Must teach three core concepts: Awareness, Honesty, Responsibility.

Rudolph Steiner and the Waldorf School are on the right track.

Need to achieve societal shift in consciousness--love, family, unity--at all levels from neighborhood to globe.

As of 1994, we are spending $1 trillion a year on war (while peace and prosperity for all would only cost $230 billion a year according to Medard Gabel and other authorities such as E. O. Wilson).

Eliminate money or make it completely transparent. Money is what allows hoarding, theft, and related evils such as corruption, all of which deprive the community and the commons of optimal stewardship. This resonates with the work of the Natural Capitalism Institute and the Open Money pioneers.

I have read all 3 of the Conversations With God Trilogy and they have changed my life forever. I was raised as a southern Baptist Christian and was always scared of the whole God thing. After reading these books I know that God is a LOVING God and he does not judge and punish people. Written in plain easy to understand english these are a must for anyone on a spiritual journey.

4 out of 5 stars Not as good as book 1, but still has some good questions........2007-06-25

I loved book one and went and bought book 2. The beginning was interesting, but I found myself skipping pages around the end. This book talks alot about politics which I found to be pretty boring. It is still and interesting book because of the questions it asks. I read reviews of people saying that these books are satanic. These books are not satanic. These books were not written for a religion, but for an open mind. I believe that satan is not peace, he is not about bringing the world closer to God, and satan is not about finding yourself. Its makes me sick how many Christians focus on Satan and give him so much credit. This is a good book that will allow you to think. And think for yourself.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing.......2007-06-09

The author seems to have run out of ideas for the second book rather hoping the success of book one would sell this one. I found him struggling in this one and only just managed to finish it.

In keeping with the first two books in this trilogy, Conversations With God, Book 3 continues to clarify the muddy waters of our spiritual existence, but moves from individual and global issues to "universal truths," which apply to all levels of existence from the microscopic to the macrocosmic. It is difficult to criticize God, but if he is as pleasant as he presents himself in Walsch's books, then he won't mind the paltry mention of a structural problem. A hefty portion of Conversations With God, Book 3 backtracks to topics that were well covered in Book 1, and while a certain amount of recap is good to build on, Walsch's repeated return to these earlier conversations gets a bit frustrating for the reader who is familiar with the earlier books. Minor blemishes aside, Conversations With God, Book 3 explores some of the most fantastic subjects that people are prone to ponder under starry evening skies: What happens when we die? What is time? Are we alone in the universe? Walsch's dialogue with the creator puts these and other imponderables into comprehendible terms. If these revelations are true, and it is ultimately up to us to know them as truths or not, then the universe is a very intriguing place, and we haven't come close to realizing our potential in understanding it. However, the great thing Conversations With God, Book 3 makes clear is that we can understand the universe if we so choose. --Brian Patterson

See my reviews of Books 1 and 2 for the full context of this excellent work. The set replaces the Bible and other convoluted religious "rule sets" and anecdotes, with a single sensible dialog with God that all of us can achieve. Religions of hate and division are part of the problem and the opposite of spiritual communion of man, one with God in community.
Conversations with God : An Uncommon Dialogue (Book 1)
Conversations With God : An Uncommon Dialogue (Book 2)

Book 3 was harder for me, in part because it deals with the afterlife, rising from the dead, and psychic powers, while I am more focused on the practical challenge of eradicating the ten high-level threats to humanity in the next 20 years.

Still, plenty of food for thought here, and I will probably come back to Book 3 for a second reading at some point.

Key points:

Society that marginalizes the elderly is destined for collapse.

Young should bear children, but they should be raised and taught by the elders.

Highly evolved civilizations understand that sharing is the key to plentitude and peace, and that no actions are shameful, competition is divisive and harmful.

Paradigm IS shifting.

Two basic principles: 1) We are all one; 2) There is Enough for All.

The trinity of body (emotion), mind (logic), and spirit (intuition) is repeatedly stressed. I am constantly reminded by this book of Gandhi's phrase, "be the change you wish to see in the world."

More on sex, God is sex, sex is love, sex is sharing, sex is union.

Past 100 years has taken Humanity from the 6 yard line to the 12 yard line in relation to a notional 100-year field of possibilities.

5 out of 5 stars Are You Listening?.......2007-05-18

This book series is a must read for all seekers of truth. But if you are not open minded, if you are not teachable then do not bother. You must admit to yourself that you may not actually know the truth in these matters. If you can do that then the seeds of truth may sprout and grow. If you dismiss this opportunity then you may very well miss your calling in this life. Time is short for those who wish to rise for the coming changes on Earth. Listen if you have ears!

5 out of 5 stars Beautifully Inspirational Truths.......2007-04-08

Best book of the trilogy. I noticed that about 90% of the negative reviews are from Christians who tout the Bible as their source to discredit the inspirational truths in this book. The problem with trying to convince them that this book rings true on many points is like trying to teach a kindergartener calculus: They just won't get it until they are ready. Their egos seem to be so rigid at this point in their growth cycle they just can't let go. Eventually they will learn. So I have given up on trying to convince them that their path is not the only one. Someday, like I did, when they are ready they will learn.

5 out of 5 stars Fundies Christians are the Anti Christ (if there was one) .......2007-03-23

I do not believe in the Anti Christ, but it is self-evident that evil is the stupidity and darkness on earth best represented in the western world by the fundie Bible thumping simpletons who think they actually have a mission by spreading their bigoted and narrow minded message to the more intelligent populous. If this sounds harsh it is because I cannot stand that self-righteous, ignorant bunch.
While CwG is not perfect nor it is complete I love the message (actually the truth) and despise the ignorant morons who say it is not right because it "contradicts the bible".
If you take the Bible word by word then what say you to the following passages?
Happy To Kill Children
"Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones." (Psalms 137:9, KJV)

"How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little ones Against the rock." (Psalms 137:9, New American Bible)

5 out of 5 stars CWG #3.......2007-02-14

The best of the CWG books and the one most given away to others. It answers the question of is there other life out there and what is it like. Even if this was totally science fiction it would be worth the read. And I believe there is much to think on here based on my life's research as a scientist. You can't have to much information so this must be read if you seriously call yourself a seeker or quester.

Neale Donald Walsch's Conversations with God series has enjoyed boundless success, making his dialogue with God accessible to a worldwide audience of adults. The Little Soul and the Sun distills the essential message of the Conversations with God books and sews it into a story that even children can identify with. Frank Riccio's poignant illustrations are the perfect companion to Walsch's parable of a little soul who discovers that it is "the light" but still wants to know how it "feels" to be the light. This proves to be a problem, as God created nothing else but the light. God's solution, with the help of another soul, is to surround the little soul with darkness, so that it can feel what being the light is like. This deceptively simple tale of self-discovery carries such a profound message that adults as well as children will read it over and over, each time learning a little more about who we really are and why we are here on earth. --Brian Patterson

Book Description

This is a dramatic and orchestrated companion to the childrens book "The Little Soul and the Sun", by Neale Donald Walsch, author of "Conversations With God". The story is narrated by the author and performed by a cast of characters. The performance is brought to life with a rich orchestral underscore and special effects, and includes four songs which reinforce the story's profound messages. The story is followed by an inspirational orchestral reprise and Overture.

5 out of 5 stars Spiritual - Little Soul.......2007-09-02

I LOVE THIS BOOK! It may look like it is just a children's book - not so.
This book is especially meant for all of us to read. I have given it to many friends and they all have called to thank me for introducing them to this wonderful book. In addition to being a great book for kids, most adults will find the messages to be very meaningful to them as well. It changed my way of looking at a lot of things and helped to heal some long lasting wounds. I read it at least once a month and am moved to tears every time. I highly recommend this book for kids of all ages ---- especially adults. It will open your mind to the light and change your life forever.

I am glad i got this book for my little girl and I cant wait until she starts understanding it. She is only 5 months but I couldn't wait. BUY IT, You wont regret!

5 out of 5 stars Good Story and Great Pictures!.......2007-07-06

This is really good book for children as well as those who are reading the conversations with God as I am. The story will help children to realize why some bad things happen and how they can always look for the positives in the bad. I know that I will read this book alot and to my siblings. Some kids might find some things alittle confusing, but I would just keep reading and explaining it to them. The books that Neale has produced can do nothing but help people. I think this book is great and every school should have it. The only problem i have is that the book is kinda pricey. I just bought it for 17 dollars at barnes and noble and on amazon is twelve something, but then theres the shipping cost so then its still around 17. Anyway, it's an awesome book with great pictures.

5 out of 5 stars Seeing Beyond Offense.......2007-06-07

I read this book almost every day for a month. This increased my compassion for myself and others. I started seeing new perspectives on people who seemed bullying or offensive previously--I now see a new part of them that perhaps they have forgotten. And, I see how their "offense" is perfectly orchestrated for my growth! In fact, in one case, it was obvious to me that my "offender" was simply repeating something my own ruthess inner critic had been saying so that I could hear how ludicrous it was and laugh it away!

5 out of 5 stars again- I'd give it 10 STARS!.......2007-03-23

Absolute perfection!
Great book and my 3 year old daughter wants to read it over and over! We also have the CD she can listen to. I believe you can by it on amazon, if not, contact the author himself...its even more powerful and my daughter loves listenning to it on her CD player in the car. Especially long trips!
A MUST to have together with the "Little soul and the Earth- I am somebody!"

Book Description

The dialogue expands . . . Conversations with God, Book 3 is the final book of the original three-book series. As was written in the introduction to Book 1, it deals with "universal truths of the highest order, and the challenges and opportunities of the soul." In Book 3, the dialogue expands to include more about the nature of God, about love and fear, about Who We Are and who we may become, and about the evolution of the human species that is about to take its place in the universal neighborhood. Here is a profound dialogue about the culture, philosophy, and spirituality of highly evolved beings (some of whom we presently call "aliens" or "ETs") in other realms of the universe, and how they have learned to view life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. By reading this book, you will begin to see life in a different way and begin to question the truth of what you have known on this planet: "And so I end this dialogue as it began. As with life itself, it comes full circle. You have been given truth here. You have been given joy. You have been given love. You have been given here the answers to the largest mysteries of life. There is now only one question remaining. It is the question with which we began. "The question is not, to whom do I talk, but who listens?"

This third part of a trilogy of Conversations with God will rock the sandy foundations of what you think is truth. Read the first two FIRST!

5 out of 5 stars The Truth Shall Set You Free!.......2006-08-31

People will appreciate this book, or not, based on their personal readiness to open themselves to real Truth (not necessarily their personal "truth" at the time, but real "Truth"). With an open heart and mind, one can use the information in this book to change their lives infinitely for the better. Whenever I reach the end of one of the books in the CwG series, I feel an overwhelming sense of liberation and Divine Love. It challenges conventional "wisdom" in a wonderful way! I very much appreciate the way God's sense of humor is expressed in this book and series, also. I'm not knocking the Bible in any way, but this book is so much more enlightening and refreshing and invigorating. The incontrovertible Truth contained in all these books resonated on a soul level with me, which is more than I can say for all the years I spent in church and Bible study. Read and enjoy (if you're ready)!

5 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Book With A Beautiful Message .......2006-05-31

One reviewer has written, "Read the Bible instead." Good advice. I wonder if she has? Believe it or not, Christians, Jesus was not Mr. Popularity during his walk on earth. Other religious leaders found him to be blasphemous, arrogant, and completely going against what the Torah (the Old Testament) had spoken about. Do you not remember what he said, "I have not come to destroy the law, but to fulfill the law..."

We all fulfill "the law" when we receive the Spirit of the Law and not just the letter of the Law. Of course this book irritates those who think they have the Truth and nothing but the Truth because there is some part of them that knows they don't. All Truth starts as blasphemy because Truth is extremely hard to swallow because it goes against popular notions and poular notions die very, very hard.

People once thought the earth was flat. People once thought that the earth was the center of the universe. People once thought that only Jesus was Divine...oh, wait...that's right...a lot still do.

We are all Divine...we are all gods...even Jesus said this...but because we live in a world where we only allow few people to shine at any given time, this is not widely accepted and embraced as the Truth.

These people who are only giving this book one star haven't really read the book, they just want to try and get other people not to read it. But if you believe that God is Love and that Love could never judge you, or punish you, or throw you in hell then you might consider reading this book but if you like to live in fear and judge others and focus more on evil and the devil than God, Peace, and Love then do not read this book and go back to a literal interpretation of the Bible and let others tell you how to think.

Peace & Blessings

5 out of 5 stars It's the Wake Up Call.......2006-03-27

I have read nearly all of Mr. Walsch's books. The CwG series IS the world's wake up call. You must have an open mind to be able to see the true depth of this series. At one time, I used to believe as the naysayers. Then I started to wake up and truely see the illusion, for what it really is. People find that the hardest thing to accept is that what we truely believe in may not have been presented through the generations correctly. People have a hard time accepting that any belief, great or small, may not be totally correct. The closed minded will never see this. The wise and opened mined person will. I highly admire Mr. Walsch for revealing to the world, what he transscribed from his conversations with God. I truely and deeply believe what he has written. I believe because I can now see, for when before I could not. His works are far from rubbish. Most believe the Bible in it's present form must be accepted as is. I submit, where is the version of the Bible before it was ordered to be edited by Emperor Constitine in 325? Do you want the truth? Simply by learning to meditate on a daily basis, will allow everyone see that we are here to recreate ourselves anew in greatest version of the grandest vision of who we really are. ONLY IF you are truly honest with yourself and learn Meditation, you will then believe in these treasured works. I recommend "Spiritual Breakthrough" by John van Auken to learn meditation. It's the how to guide to reach the consciousness of God.

5 out of 5 stars A Hindu girl found this book to be brilliant!.......2006-01-26

What can I say about this book, it really is a must read for all, I have read books 1 and 2 and am now on book3 I am Hindu by birth and naturally have not followed a Christian path but I do believe that all beliefs are very similar and there is one creator-one god for everyone. That is how I was bought up. I was never bought up to believe in Satan and there is no Satan, God created everything and as he says in his book 1 why would he create Satan? There is one reviewer who believes nothing in the book yet had to read them all! This book is not for Bible bashers! It is for people who have expanded views on life and are looking to find there way to there soul/God and there is nothing in this book that would change a person for the worst it can only change a person for the better or not at all, so I guess you have nothing to loose. There is much to absorb from all books and you may need to be read them many times as I have.
No one recommended any of these book to me I just stumbled upon it at my temple. Hindus are very open minded hence them carrying that book, and I am grateful that I found it; it has been enlightening for me! This is a book of substance and I believe are the words from God!

Put together by a radio-show personality who worked closely with medium George Anderson, We Don't Die is well documented, well written, and seems veracious. It is one of the most convincing accounts of communication with the deceased. A gentle religious man, Anderson was almost committed to a state mental hospital at age 16 because of his "visions," but by his 20s, he was helping spirits communicate with friends and relatives still residing on this plane of existence. Approximately 15 percent of the time he's not correct, and this is attributed to mix-ups in human communication or ignorance on the part of the questioner. The information that living folks pass between each other is often relayed or perceived inaccurately, so it seems logical that some perceptive error would occur in communications from the incarnate--particularly since a lot of these are conveyed through images, symbols, and tactile impressions. Anderson's conversations make for an engrossing read not to be missed. --P. Randall Cohan

Book Description

This is the phenomenal true story of the world-renowned psychic medium George Anderson-the groundbreaking book that first brought afterlife experience into the light. For over 12 years Joel Martin documented evidence of Anderson's powers-the ability to reach 'the other side'-and repeatedly astonished believers and skeptics. This is the book of those universal visions, the inspiring messages of hope, truth, and peace, and a glimpse into eternity to answers to the unfathomable questions about life and death.

1 out of 5 stars Deceived.......2007-06-03

How easy are people deceived they rather believe this book than the bible he says there is no hell funny Jesus talks about hell in the bible in Mathew 25 Jesus says these shall go into everlasting fire so I don't know who was giving George Anderson the visions but they were not from Jesus his books are full of errors and are of the devil.

5 out of 5 stars An Amazing Man and a REAL medium.......2007-05-17

In 1995, following the death of my son, I traveled to Long Island to meet with George Anderson. At the time of my trip, I owned a small angel store. One of my customers had just lost her husband so the two of us flew to NY to meet with Mr. Anderson. He knew nothing about either of us, not our names or where we were from. He didn't know we had flown across the country praying for a sign, a connection, a message, ~anything from beyond. George Anderson picked us individually out of an audience at separate times. Both my customer and I had astounding experiences of those who had passed over. My son and her husband both came thru with messages, specific to each of us. I wrote a chapter about the experience in a book recently published, Blessings in the Mire. Anyone that knows me, knows that I was not inclined to believe in mediums, psychics, healers, and the likes, and that for the most part I think most of this is charlatans out to make a buck with their peddled wares. George Anderson changed my mind. He is a very gifted man, with an amazing life story to tell. In this book, We Don't Die, he speaks of how painful his childhood was as a result of his "visions" in his youth. Believe me, because it's true. Get this book, and then if you are in need of spiritual guidance, seek him out. I have long since moved on and no longer have my angel store; now I write books about it! But when I returned to my angel store after the NY trip and meeting with George Anderson, I called the publisher and ordered a crate of, We Don't Die, which I sold in record time. And if you want the detailed account of our profoundly impactful experience feel free to buy Blessings in the Mire.

5 out of 5 stars Superb Book. Loved This Book & Everyone I Gave This Book To Loved It!.......2007-04-21

Goerge Anderson is incredible and he has clearly made a difference in the hearts and minds of those he has touched. A gifted medium and a person of kindness, I found Joel Martin's "We Don't Die" to be inspirational as well as informative. It's a wonderful book for the believer as well as the skeptic. I couldn't put the book down.

Book Description

Long before their supporting role in Sex and the City, Manolo Blahnik's shoes were legendary—exquisitely detailed, unabashedly luxurious, and impossibly sexy. The epitome of sophistication and taste, they have graced the feet of royalty, supermodels, and movie stars. In these breathtaking pictures by Blahnik's longtime friend, photographer Eric Boman, the shoes take center stage in a dazzling array of intriguing and often lighthearted scenes and settings. A white leather stiletto plays an incriminating role in a suggested crime worthy of Hitchcock. A pale green mule nestles among ferns in homage to Blahnik's recurring botanical themes. The straps of a sandal echo the strands of spaghetti in which it lays entwined. Boman's unerring eye and oddly keen understanding of Blahnik's creations make for spellbinding pictures, full of wit, playfulness, and sole. Elegant allusions to Blahnik's eclectic influences abound—from the cinema to history, from the natural world to art and literature. As covetable as a pair of Manolos, this is a book of consummate creativity, addictive power, and unrivaled individuality: a cult object on a cult designer.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Blahnik by Boman.......2006-07-18

I just happened to be in Selfridges/London last year, coinciding with Eric Boman and Manolo Blahnik's book launch. There were queues and queues of eager fans lining up to get their newly purchased books autographed by the fashionable duo. It was all very civilised, even though security guards were holding back the frenzied mob, while Boman and Blahnik relentlessly signed with tireless good humour and charm.

Blahnik has been the ultimate cobbler to the stars since the Seventies, and Boman is a veteran, top photographer who's been photographing beautiful women for years (his most recent book, "Dames" show-cases his portrait-photogaphy). It's fortunate for Manolo that Eric came up with the novel idea of photographing his old friend's shoes. It was also conducive for the book that he supplied the witty 'photographic conversation,' for although Manolo's shoes are the most exquisite in the world, a book would have been pretty one dimensional with pedestrian sole snap-shots of his pumps without Eric's creative input.

Boman has not only managed to produce imaginative photographs of the beautiful shoes, but has elevated Manolo's footwear to museum status. Thanks to his original and highly imaginative photographic compositions, the elegant pumps have been transformed into classical portraits.

Boman and Blahnik's old friend Paloma Picasso has supplied the foreword, helping make this beautifully produced book a must have gift, especially for people with tasteful shoe fetishes and aficionados of superior glossy art books, the kind which are too exquisite to grace coffee tables.

5 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!.......2006-02-24

The genius design combined with amazing photography and styling make for a journey of beauty.A must have for the collector of fashion and photgraphy books.

I am a photographer and also a high heels collector. There is a project in my mind since one year ago, I want to creat a book to present the art of high heel design, just like this book. I have many ideals. However when I saw this book, I think I need new ideals, or my friend will think that my work is just a copy.
I will rate 4 to 4.5 stars to this book.

5 out of 5 stars shoes...no odor.......2005-12-24

5 out of 5 stars Wacky, Wonderful, Weird World!.......2005-12-23

I have a huge collection of fashion books - both artistic and historical. A friend just gave this to me for our holiday gift-exchange at work, and I am absolutely overwhelmed!
The images are completely striking - strange, beautiful, odd, a little disturbing, and usually quite witty. Some have made me laugh out loud, while others send a chill down my spine.
Of course, Blahnik's shoes speak from themselves as works of art, however the way that Boman has juxtaposed them will the different set-ups or mise-en-scene is truly wonderful. If only we could have such still lifes in the odd spaces of our homes! This book will be a great addition for any fashionista/art lover, and will be the most talked-about *objet* at your next gathering...ENJOY!!!

Most of us have heard the old saying... sticks and stones may break my bones but your words can never hurt me, yet we have all been hurt by the unkind words of others. I use this book as an elementary level teaching tool to help children understand that words can hurt feelings and so they must choose thier words carefully. The book is wonderfully illustrated and is a good companion with the book, "Hands are not for Hitting,"

A book that needs to be in the hands of every parent. I am raising two of my grandchildren. Needless to say, they are hurting, and have used words to hurt one another, and others. This book was a God send. I highly recommend it!
A great aid for teachers too!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent!.......2007-07-13

My son loves this book! I can't wait to buy the other books in the series.

I purchased this book, among others, because I was told that my 4 year old son was teasing at preschool. Not only is the book excellent, but simply saying the title when I feel my son is acting unkind often snaps him out of it. I often use the other titles in the series the same way. ("Jimmy, hands are not for hitting", "Feet are not for kicking", etc.)and even though we haven't read the other books, it has the same effect...he seems to snap out of it and apologizes.

I highly recommend!

Enlightening, sometimes radical penetrations of thought revealed by one eminently qualified at the task.

Capra explores leading edge thought in a readable and enriching way.

Excellent book.

I have found all of FC's books very helpful. He has been able to take many exceptionally complex ideas in science and make them accessible to the lay reader - such as myself. In particular, he has made the link between the New Physics and Living Systems and the ancient wisdom.

Uncommon Wisdom takes a different approach to his other books. His traditional books are based naturally on explaining the ideas. This book is grounded in experience and in relationship. Here FC takes a personal and musing approach. He shares his own life journey, doubts, fears and hopes, as he meets, talks and develops relationships with some of the great thinkers of our time. He shows us through his story how his thinking develops. We as readers share the unfolding process in his own being as he too struggles with the import of what he is learning.

The ideas in this book are embedded in story and in people. As such they are more "sticky" than ideas simply defined and outlined. It is one thing to have Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle explained. It is so much better to listen, via FC's ears and eyes, to Heisenberg talk.

Another lasting impression I received from the book is what a time the 1970's 1980's was. Was it our Golden Age? Much of the book is located in the 1970's and 1980's when the idea of the breakdown of the Cartesian view and the rise of an interrelated view of reality was so new.

The book is out of print and I encourage him to persuade his publisher to get it back on the shelves. Why? In middle age, our youth has a pull. FC's current writing is already looking back at the 1970's which he now sees as a "Turning Point". Now in late middle age he and many millions of us are looking back with a new perspective. It is worth re-discovering the wonder of that time. In Uncommon Wisdom we travel back with FC and sit at his shoulder as he hears for the first time the ideas that are changing our world 30-years later. Maybe we have digested this time enough and we need to remember when we questioned more and to pick up the gifts we left aside as we turned away to raise our children and to get on in the world.

A wonderful book full of compassion and wonder

5 out of 5 stars A fine introduction to Capra........1999-02-08

This is an excellent book that acquaints you with the intellectual odyssey and personality of Mr. Capra. Filled with brilliant insights and fascinating discussions with people like E.F. Schumacher, R.D. Laing, Gregory Bateson, Geoffrey Chew, Krishnamurti, Warner Heisenberg, and many other giants of the 20th century who shaped Capra's thoughts in the writing of Tao of Physics and The Turning Point. Gives you an underpinning for The Web of Life too. An insider's multidisciplinary look into the intellectual cutting edge of the 60s and 70s. Warmly written and very pleasant. I highly recommend it as a starting point for a deep understanding of Fritjof Capra.
