I thought it was going to be a full novel however turned out to be something similar to a one page motivational daily reading. It is positive and colorful with accurate words of inspiration so I am not upset with the money spent.

Joel Osteen's Daily Calendar is excellent; I wouldn't want to go through a year without it. Each day has an encouraging, uplifting message, which sometimes includes a little gentle guidance. The messages keep me positive, hopeful, and focused on the future instead of the past.

This started out as a birthday present from my team at work. Mr. Osteen has just visited Charlotte, NC and I had the opportunity to work as an usher there and I just had one of the best praise and worship times ever. So I was just going on and on about the visist and thats what I got for my birthday and christmas present. But it turned out it was just for more than myself. All of my co-workers would make a b-line to my desk to see what the word woud be for the day. I mean everybody liked it. I work at Social Services so I got to share the word with a lot of people. I just love this calendar. Someone at my job stole mine so I've ordered me another one. Keep up the good word.

Joel's messages are about being positive; thinking the highest for ourselves; being responsible for our own well-being; improving our lives. I look forward to seeing positive daily messages on the calendars each morning - and the messages stay with me. Only criticism is that the first several days were not really that positive - not like the other several hundred messages that truly reach my heart and head.

I am near the end of this book and I couldn't have read it at a better time in my life. The journaling is great and it helped me a great deal. There are several inspirational quotes and Olsteen encourages readers to live to their best potential by giving to others and helping others realize their dreams. It also helps you deal with the trials of life and it helped change my perspective on things.
Buy this book! You won't regret it.

When I first recieved a copy of what now? I must say it wasn't what I had expected. Though After reading through it, I thought to myself now here's a book that shine's with inspiration. I was so glad that I had gotten the words and wisdom that I needed from so many different resources. Not only was it the inspiration but the being able to reflect upon my experiences with those that were shared in the book. I would definetely recomend that not only seniors who are graduating from high school get a copy but also those who thrive off of daily inspiration, this is the book for you!

As a teacher for more than twenty years, I have watched many seniors prepare for graduation. In my own teaching, I have helped to prepare my own students for this transition through the writing and reading they do. However, I have never found a book that provides that crucial "stepping stone" as well as Selig's does. It's simply terrific. I am especially impressed by the diversity of her sources of inspiration: from the writing of students to those of professional writers, both past and present,this book offers its readers a rich mine of ideas. My only regret is the subtitle which targets this book as a book for graduation. It is certainly that, but it would be a great gift for anyone who is taking a next big step of any kind -- moving on from a death or a divorce,beginning a new career, etc.

My mom bought this book for me for my early graduation present. She thought it looked like something I needed to take to college. She was right. This book to me is the best present anyone could have ever given me. It has sooo much in it. The famous pros in this book truly touch ones soul, and warm the heart. There is a passage in there about mothers and daughters that really made me cry. There are other passages that made me laugh, because they related so well to me. I recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a graduation present, it truly is the best!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent Military Biography.......2002-03-02
If you are really interested in the Marine Corps or WW2 History, this is something worth buying. Instead of just making 'Red Mike' Edson a saintly hero of great virtue and courage, the author describes Edson the man with warts and all.
My only complaint about the book (it wasn't that big because the rest of the book is excellent) was that book didn't go into as much detail about Bloody Ridge (the pinnacle of Edson's combat leadership and which won him the CMH) which is surprising considering how much detail was spent describing the fight against the Sandinistas between WW1 and WW2.
Excellent biography of a fine Marine........1997-10-27
"Red Mike" Edson was one fearless warrior. His frontline exploits on Tarawa, Saipan, and Guadalcanal (where he won the Medal of Honor and probably saved the campaign) are the stuff of legends, but he was also, improbably, a first-class staff officer.
This unusual talent for organization brought him two stars and a role in the highest echelons of the Corps, but it also took him into the fierce politics of the Pentagon and may have indirectly caused his death.
The history of this fine Marine is well told in this outstanding biography; with photos, bibliography, and index. Highly readable; essential for Marine Corps readers and of great interest to general military history readers and WWII buffs.
