Women pull this crap, too.......2007-03-05
I've seen plenty of the things men are accused of in this book done by women to men. The book's notion that women are soley the victims of men is myopic. If a partner in a relationship is reading this stuff, probably they are in a bad relationship. Maybe they should reexamine how they got into this relationship in the first place? I think social pressure for women to get married is at the root of the problem. Many will "settle" just to be married. If things don't click before you march down to the altar, they probably won't be that great after the I dos have been spoken. Many men take women at their word and unfortunately, that is a bad mistake.
100% Absolutely Predictable? Dubious Title........2007-01-15
I read this book quickly cover to cover. I did recognize the behaviors described and, yes, lots of cheaters display them. 100% of cheaters, though, absolutely not. The authors seemed to write the book based on guys with good jobs with lots money. I know cheaters who just want out. They have no money to hide and they just bolt. It is still a valuable read, though, for anyone suspecting infidelity or wanting to prevent it or nip it in the bud. I think it was candidly written with an eye on helping spouses face a difficult situation. Most importantly, it will let the reader know that they are not alone and not going crazy.

Reveals More About the Authors Than It Does General Human Behavior.......2006-10-12
I read The Script, and even though I admit to reading it very quickly, it struck me that I was gaining much more insight into the minds, experiences, and personalities of the authors than I was learning about the supposed subject of the book. What I saw were women who not only obviously felt betrayed by their ex-husbands--and perhaps rightfully so since I don't know them personally--but also women who likely were quite insecure, distrustful, negative, and paranoid in their relationships BEFORE their husbands gave any serious thought to leaving each of them.
Granted, there ARE men who screw over perfectly well-balanced wives. I'm not saying there's not. But in reading this book, it occurred to me that these two women are probably very similar in personality and most likely socialize with other women with similar personalities, and are therefore blind to the likelihood that their behavior may have INITIATED their husbands' departure, not revealed it. One cannot live with constant suspicion, accusation, distrust and insecurity.
One of the more interesting items in The Script was their contention that every man who ends up leaving his wife vigorously protests at some point that he "would never do that." On the surface, this seems to fit in with the author's theory, because most men who leave probably DO say that. But why do they? I'm sure that most husbands who deal with an insecure, resentful, suspicious wife end up HAVING to say that because the wife is constantly putting him in conversational situations where he feels he must in order to reassure her. And I'm talking about good men who have no intention of bolting their marriage. But if the wife needs constant reassurance and seems insecure and suspicious when there is no cause, this will drive even the best man away.
Also, there is a very common abuse of Logic in the book's premise. Even if you accept as fact that every man who cheats on his wife does and says all these things, it does NOT then follow that every man who does and says these things cheats on his wife. All trout are fish, not all fish are trout--follow what I mean?
You have to have trust in a marriage for it to work. If your spouse is going to leave you, he/she is going to do it in any case. But nothing will drive him/her from you more quickly than consistent distrust. The title of this book could just as easily have been "The Self-Fulfilling Prophecy."
I gave it two stars because it was quite well-written, as is all the best agit-prop.
Is anyone else seeing this? .......2006-10-06
The retro cover art caught my eye on the bargain table at Schuler's. Then the text jumped out at me, and I stood there laughing for the next 20 minutes. I'm a divorced man, and yes I said some of this stuff to my ex-wife, cruel as that may sound. I didn't call her fat or anything like that, but did suggest that she get involved in some self esteem building activities, after 3 kids and not working outside of the home for about 4 years. I will say that I do sympathize with anyone with a troubled marriage. There is nothing worse, than having your best friend turn against you. However, there is something called SELF-FULFILLING-PROPHECY at work here ladies, and you have to be careful with this stuff. Act like an enraged, jealous lunatic and your husband may tell you to see a shrink. Jump down his throat the second that he comes in the door and he may tell you that you need to get out of the house and away from the kids more often. My ex probably read this book, and it could have given her the backing that she needed to go off on tangents. That would help explain the constant accusations of infidelity. It WAS nuts. I'd get accused if I went an extra few miles on my bike at night. I'd get accused if I went into work early, to get caught up. It was miserable, and I'm glad that it's over. Sleeping alone is better than sleeping with someone that hates you.
Now if I could just find these women who are willing to meet me for quickies by the bike trail and on the way to work, I'd be all set. That's a joke, Ladies, you can stop calling me a pig now.
I'm giving it a couple stars only because there are some jerks out there who seem to think of marriage as a yoke and their wife as a fool. So I can see some value. Just be careful, with this thing. Surrounding yourself with divorce support is a great way to get ready for divorce, but it's no way to save a marriage. If something like this makes sense to you, then your already there, regardless of what your spouse is doing.

This book speaks the ultimate truth.......2004-08-16
You read a lot of reviews saying that a certain book is a must-read or an important book or filled with insights. But when I read Bernard Cramer's book about the roles babies and parents play in their relationship with each other, I realized there was no comparison to other books about parents and children.
If there was one book I had to recommend to parents, only one book that might offer them enough food for thought to last a lifetime with their children, and a mirror to look into in order to find the truth of their own motivations and behavior, it would be this one.
Brilliant. Compassionate. Non-judgmental. Fascinating. Meaningful. And most of all, a book of hope.

Great Book From a Great Team!.......2002-10-16
My wife and I do dramas on accocion for our church and we have to find ones that are 2 people based. This book was just that to help us when we run dry of creativity. With my wife and I having met them we can truely say that Paul and Nicole are truley blessed in this and their ministry let's it show in this title.

The Army's leadership has recognized this challenge and is seeking ways to ensure readiness. This thesis explores the application of the built in test (BIT) maintenance concept in supporting readiness in the Fire Control System (FCS) of the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS). It provides background on the current Fire Control System and discusses factors both internal and external to the system that are driving the upgrade. Projected benefits gained from BIT are in terms of readiness through reduction in Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), cost savings, and compression of the maintenance levels. Application of BIT into other systems is covered. BIT is one method currently being developed to maintain and improve readiness despite continued force and budgetary reductions. The goal of this thesis is to show how technology can be used to support readiness by increasing efficiency while minimizing costs.

mlrs in detail.......2001-02-17
one of the few books i have seen with the mlrs in it ... not to mention the amount of detail it contains , full color pictures of the vehicle in action , the engine , deployed and fireing a true refrence for any military modeler. if you are building a model of the mlrs this is the book for you. you might also want to check out signal/squadrons M2/M3 bradley as it also details the mlrs(which is based of the bradley chassis)though not in as much detail as this book.all together warmachines #12 is a well produced book.
