Great Ideas!.......2007-03-12
Love this book! If you're in to modern storage solutions or want the best of the best products... this is your book! Great coffee table book.
Happy but not impressed!.......2007-01-20
Being a 28yr. old woman, who is not very domestic, I love the book and learned a lot. I would describe the book as a personal/household, "how-to" book. The book features checklists for grocery, kitchenwares, chores, home and auto maintenance and cleaning. It tells the best way to remove stains from everywhere, to do laundry, to decorate, to paint. And they give some quick/easy recipes. However, I don't think experienced moms and dads would be that impressed with most of the info!
the book is Real Simple - but don't let that deter you.......2005-12-23
This book reads extremely fast. The page layout is attractive (just like the magazine), but alas this arrangement includes a lot of white space. Many of the tips are too familiar, e.g., sprinkling lemon juice on your fruit salad to prevent browning, and some advice is applicable only to homeowners or parents (I am neither - yet).
Still, there is enough novel advice to make this volume worthwhile for a poor student who appreciates tips for organizing and entertaining. I recommend this for a housewarming gift.
note: book is hardcover.
A Book To Make Life Easier.......2005-11-10
I'm a fan of Real Simple magazine, so this book hit the spot for me. It gives you ideas for reusing items. Now I know what to do with the stack of dryer sheets that I'd been saving. There are inexpensive tips and lots of how-to advice. Some may sound familiar, but there's bound to be some you had not thought of before.
All kinds of tricks and tips from Real Simple Magazine.......2005-09-22
I like "Real Simple" magazine but I don't like saving the back issues. (I have enough clutter, believe me.) So the editors of this excellent magazine have compiled all kinds of tricks and ideas into this single volume. It's a lot of fun to read and has some very helpful stuff for keeping your home in order.
The chapters include:
1. Grooming
2. Getting Dressed
3. In the Kitchen
4. In the Office
5. Cleaning
6. Decorating
7. Entertaining
8. Celebrating
1. Grooming includes how to unclog your drain. I am going to go try this; my bathroom sink is not draining properly. Here, you dump a cup of baking soda down and add a gallon of boiling water..
Naturally, the grooming section is homemade recipes for face scrub, toothpaste (?) and fun ideas like freezing aloe vera gel for sunburn relief--if you KNOW you are just going to go get burnt, you might as well prepare.
2. Getting Dressed has hints on mending, washing dainty things,
3. In the Kitchen--not the best part of the book, I thought, some basic recipes and how to use a wine bottle as an emergency rolling pin.
4. In the Office; someone peeked in my desk drawer at work, because there is a suggestion for supplies like toothbrush and toothpast and a lint roller, plus some basic makeup. I have this. They didn't find the hair dryer and shampoo I keep in the office bathroom in case I get drenched or sweated out and have to do my hair over at work..hahah. Another suggestion, spare house keys! Good idea.
5. The cleaning section has a stain removal guide, probably worth the book for this alone.
6. Decorating, lots of tips, but most useful, how to paint a room.
7. The entertainment section has fun things like freezing berries to make colorful ice cubes for summer drinks, and how to buy for a cocktail party.
The book ends with all the marvelous things you can do with dental floss, aside from flossing between your teeth.
Good for the newly-wed or just-got-first apartment couple. This is a pretty volume that would make a welcome gift for just about anyone.

Fantastic Book.......2007-03-25
Its hard to imagine taking such a complex topic and creating a book that explains it without speaking down to the reader. Simply one of the best explantory treatises I've ever read and thoroughly enjoyed. A masterpiece!
Excellent Book!.......2005-06-28
I am very interested in learning Kabbalah, and this book got me hooked! It is very easy to understand, seems to hit all the major facts and concepts and is wonderfully written. It is like a textbook of Kabbalah 101 for me, I am highlighting things and writing in the margins, but I will never sell it back! :) It is a great reference book that I am sure I will go back to again and again and read many times over, no matter how far I get in my studies of Kabbalah. If you are on the fence, BUY IT!! You won't be sorry.
One thing I also like about the book, it states traditional Kabbalah belief, not radical or cult-ish belief as in some other books.
My first Kabalah book :) EXCELLENT!.......2004-02-10
I choose this book as my introduction to Kabalah and could not have been more pleased. It presented alot of material in a straight forward, easy to understand mannor. An easy read, full of valuable information. Highly recommended!!
History, history, history.......2002-07-09
This book presents an accurate, well-researched and well-written history of the Kabbalah, but the history portion is nearly 2/3 of the whole book. I bought it to learn about the Tree of Life and was very disappointed.
A Delightful Read.......2001-08-28
A delightful read with clarity that belies its size and page count, Simple Kabbalah is just that. An easy to understand, insightful and educational book on a very intricate and complicated subject. Detailed yet comprehensible, most every aspect of this mystical art is touch upon and illuminated. Though reading this book will not make anyone an expert on Jewish Mysticism, it conclusively dispels many of the misconceptions about Kabbalah and give an excellent historical account of its inceptions and beginnings as well as its current place and posture in todayýs world. All objectively and readily. Very well written in concise chapters with excellent illustrations, this is a great place to begin a journey into Kabbalah or to refresh your knowledge of this mystical art. You donýt have to be Jewish and you donýt have to be a scholar to enjoy and learn from this charming little book.

Stuff No One Else Told Me.......1998-07-28
As someone starting my career, or my so called life, there are tidbits no one tells you. Bullets like "the fastest way to give yourself a raise is to work less" come in handy for someone who couldn't get through the new employee manual. This is highly recommend. If you read Fast Company, you will like this book.
A book full of useful and lasting ideas........1998-07-26
Richard Moran's book meets two of my tests for good business books. First, it has ideas I can use Monday morning; there is something useful here for everyone in business. And second, it has ideas I will remember long after I put the book down.
An excellent, practical list of things to know and do........1998-07-08
Rich Moran has done it again. He has managed to compile thoughts of business people and list them in neat, little book that fits in anyone's briefcase. Not a "how-to," necessarily, but a compendium of "tips" which can help improve interactions between business people. It's not often one can find a book that is amusing and helpful at the same time.
A few good business tips.......1998-06-08
This book is not actually a book but rather a list of business and success tips. Out of all the tips, I found about one-fifth actually useful. However, it is small and compact and would make a 'neat' little gift for anyone who works.

Book Description
What if life's most powerful and healing lessons have been there all along, simply waiting for us to see and use them? Told with a homespun mixture of tenderness, dignity and humor, How You See Anything is How You See Everything is a collection of simple stories woven from many of life's most ordinary moments. Each of these stories is drawn together with a brief insight that helps the reader to change the way they view both themselves and the world. Overlaying the writer's message, simple illustrations make their way across the bottom of each page, telling their own separate, yet related story. The resulting combination of words, insights and pictures inspires the reader to work and recognize possibilities within the framework of their daily lives¨for how we see anything is indeed how we see everything.

Like A Fine Wine.......2000-03-03
Like a fine wine, "How You See Anything" is to be savored ever so slowly. Each story speaks to our values, thoughts, and feelings which reflect evry day living. You need to allow adequate time to assimilate what each lesson is trying to tell us. The authors through their stories remind us we have choices in life, we need to respect ourselves and others, and always allow for the unexpected..........truly how we interpret our world is how we will react to it. Certainly this book of treasures is a wise choice for gift giving to those you find special in your life. I look forward to learning more from reading Volume Two of How You See Anything in the future.

A real treasure of wisdom in a fun-to-read format........1999-10-14
This book is full of stories of people whose experiences recalled similar learning times of my own. I found myself thinking, "Oh, I have to share this with Lisa, or Janet, or Lanni." (It is a perfect Christmas present.) The stories were readable and full of meaning. I read the book in one afternoon.
A book that all ages can anjoy and relate to!.......1999-10-12
This is a special little book that people of all ages can enjoy and relate to their own life's experiences. This author has done a wonderful job of allowing the reader to experience the laughter, tears and true emotions as they read each very different story within the book. This is the perfect book for any friend or family member for a special occasion or for no occasion at all.

Customer Reviews:
Simply Magnificent.......2004-04-20
This book, in one day, taught me more than I have learned in many years. A MUST read not only for women, but men as well! To the point, matter of fact, delightful recounts of familiar biblical stories simplified for everyday use. Wonderful wisdom and insight by the author combined with uplifting artwork, pages and cover. I plan on purchasing a minimum of 10 copies for giving to my nearest and dearest family and friends...including a few men! The most enjoyable book I've picked up in years...thank you and blessings to Maria!
Don't Let the Title Fool You.......2001-11-17
I'm not sure why the author chose as a sub-title, "52 Virtues For Every Woman." The packaging suggests it was a marketing decision. Regardless, the readings are equally appropriate for men. This book is a rare gem. The book is packed with biblical wisdom made easier to appropriate through stories. This book has real power to enrich anyone's life who is open to its timeless truths. It has benefitted me personally. An excellent devotional resource. I applaud the author (and illustrator) for this outstanding work.
Inspirational and thought-provoking.......1999-10-23
I've given copies of this book to five other women, and all have had nothing but good things to say about it. Too often we overlook the importance of spirituality in our daily lives; this book clearly and concisely offers us a chance to grow in love and wisdom, thereby becoming stronger and more compassionate women.
Inspiring and easy to read........1999-05-13
This is such a wonderful idea for busy women. The readings are short and to the point. It is full of wisdom based on the Word of God. The author has insight and a very good way to convey her ideas. I highly recomend it to everyone to utilize as a weekly study.
Customer Reviews:
A good book to have.......2006-05-22
To say Camp Follower one immediately thinks of the harlots that followed armies through out history.
This book pretty much puts a stop to that image though such women did exist most women who followed the soldiers in the field were anything but. In addition it covers all others who served teh armies in the field in a supporting role.
Though it covers only the American armies of the revolution it can pretry much serve to enlightenthe reader about those of other armies of the times as well.
Nicely written. Well organized. Easy to read.
A must read for anyone interested in the history of warfare.
