This book saved the relationship with my first son going through adolescence. Sometimes you just need a little perspective and this book gives that and more in lovely bite size pieces. Working in the suggestions that this author gives is natural and stress free, this is my second copy. I loaned the first out to a friend and she wouldn't give it up when my second started going through his "growing pains," I like to re-read it constantly to keep all of the tips fresh in my mind!

This is an excellent book, and I suggest starting it when you have a 12 or 13 year old - an age when you still have a little control over them! I have the hard cover, which has nice artwork on the cover, and it would make a great gift.

I wish I had this book when my children were growing up. I bought this for my daughter when she had her first daughter. It is a great reference manual with good suggestions for any parent on ways to guide your child as he or she grows up to be a well-balance, loving, child, - adult, and at the same time develop a close relationship with them.

Molly Fumia has written a moving and deeply meaningful account of her grief journey following the death of her newborn son. Jeremy was born and died during a time when pregnant couples were taught how to manage labor, but not a word was said about how to manage grief when the baby didn't live. Medical professionals believed that if parents didn't spend much time with their dying infant, they would heal quickly and move on. Molly has written a marvelous validation of the importance of supporting bereaved parents in their desire to see, hold, and spend time with their baby.The death of a child, particularly an infant, is a loss which can throw a family spinning into outer space. I admire her ability to share her darkest feelings and thoughts in a manner which permits us to learn and grow.

I wish I had read this 'gift' book before I spent so much money on all the other parenting books that I have bought. These little stories/anecdotes/lessons are very helpful reminders in aiding me to be a mindful, caring parent in this world full of distractions. I have just purchased this for all my mommy friends as a Mother's Day gift. I plan to keep this on my bedside table to read a new chapter everynight to remind me to provide loving, attentive companionship to my daughter. The stories are short and well written - even my husband with his very short attention span finds them wonderful.
