Some humor, some interesting background and history, but mostly lots of great advice. The difference between Fred and everyone else is that he knew exactly when to perform certain tasks, like fertilization of your lawn.

This book is the lawn and garden bible to anyone living in the Ohio Valley area.

Fantastic!.......2007-10-02

This is so much better than any baby book! I hung this calendar right on my refrigerator and this would easily remind me to mark down milestones as my child grew from month to month. It's adorable! Just bought a second one for new baby!

Cute but wish it had a little more room/space to write in.......2007-09-22

I was looking for a keepsake book/calendar where I could record all of baby's firsts, journal some milestones, etc. With my first I received a free calendar from Nestle/Good Start that was awesome, but they do not have them available anymore. With this calendar, there are cute stickers and a little space for a 4x6 photo and some fill in the blanks ("I like...I don't like...I'm learning...etc.) each month. However, there just isn't enough room for me to put everything that I'd like down. The space for each of the days of the month is only about 1x1" square, and if you put a sticker in it, then there's hardly any room at all to write anything. Also, with the Nestle calendar, it was a spiral bound that had pockets each month, which was nice. It was made more like a book, instead of a wall calendar. I could put some cards, photos, etc. in that one, whereas this one, since I don't have it hanging up, just gets stuck in a drawer.

Needs a 13th Month.......2007-08-24

Enjoyed using the calendar, but I don't understand how there can be stickers for the baby's first day home and 1st birthday without 13 MONTHS! We used a color copier to make our own 13th month.

The calendar is adorable! It could have been a little larger to fill the days with baby's accomplishments. Plus, it should have been a 13 month calendar because I started it the month my baby was born, but it doesn't go far enough for her first birthday. Overall image of calendar is very cute.

Great baby book.......2007-04-05

I love this baby book because it includes just the right amount of information. Some baby books leave room for so much information that I wouldn't be able to keep up and others are too skimpy. I also love the spiral binding. It includes all the things I look for; A place for an ultrasound picture, a family tree/chart, current events (president, gas$$, ect.) and it goes up to Kindergarten. The only thing this is missing is an envelope in the back for extra mementos and pictures. The other reason I didn't put 5 stars is because the cover looks like it's a "boys" baby book, but it could be used for either.

Excellent baby book!.......2004-08-22

This is an excellent baby book. While I was pregnant with my 2nd daughter, I looked at every baby book I could and just couldn't find a satisfactory one. And since I wasn't too pleased with the book I used for my 1st daughter I didn't want to buy another one. I stumbled across this book and love it! It has spaces for so much information, including pictures. I am so glad I found this book. I am going to buy one for my friend.

This is such a great book to keep track of all your baby's milestones! They grow so fast, it's hard to keep up with them, let alone remember when they did what. It makes a great gift to all new parents and parents to be! The circus theme is so cute and it works for a boy or a girl! The babies in the photographs are just adorable!!!

I have an eariler version of this book for my son who is now 9 yrs old so I was looking for a smiliar one for my newborn. It is everything that I wanted! Great memory keeper! :)

I bought it for my daughter's baby and found it helpful, with lovely drawings, with all the necessary things for a mother-to-be. She can write whatever she wants before her baby is born, keep details she will soon forget, keep unforgettable memories.

Nice book but it doesn't work for me in the US.......2002-02-26

A very sweet, simple baby book for people who want a sentimental memory book of baby's first year. The pages have beautiful Beatrix Potter pictures on them. All general topics are covered, and most pages allow you to fill in baby's firsts (i.e. first smile, first laugh, first time baby sat up, first pair of shoes, etc) while keeping the fill in the blanks about feelings (i.e. "When I was born, my parents felt ___") to a minimum. **One interesting note: In the US, babies usually go to the doctor at 3weeks old, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months the first year (or something like that). This book only has sections for baby info (height, weight, etc) at 3 month intervals, starting with 3 months, then 6 months, so if you want to record doctor visit stats from all your baby's doctor visits, this book will not have the space you need, and that's why this book doesn't work for me.

I love this baby book. I did tons of research before purchasing a baby book for each of my twins and this is by far the cutest/most thorough. It's classy, not cheesy and has plenty of room for extra photos and special keepsakes.

I agree with the other reviewer and want to add another reason to buy this book. For the past 4 months I've been looking for a baby book that is not racially specific and this one is the best by far. Many baby books have only photographs or drawings of white children which can really be alienating for parents of other racial and cultural backgrounds. This book is beautiful and race neutral.

Finally - the perfect baby journal.......2005-07-01

We just bought this book -- there are no goofy cutesy drawings throughout -- all of the images are photographs of baby paraphenalia. Its cover is beige with a photo of teddy bears on the front (too bad there's no picture available, b/c it would definitely help sell this book -- here's one book you won't mind displaying on your grown-up books shelves!). Ours is spiral bound, and each tab (moments of joy/here at last/welcome home/baby firsts/one year old/your second birthday) also doubles as a place to hold momentos, cards, etc. LOTS of places to put in your own photos and lots of space to write...where it matters. Like 'baby's first vacation'--3 whole pages, so it's perfect for us!

Organized very well, includes all information you would want in a baby book. There is plenty of space to write what you want without it being so vague that you don't know what to write. Excellent! I loved it so much when I received it as a gift for my first daughter that I bought it for my second.

I received this book as a gift for my baby, and now I give it as a baby gift to my friends and family. The format makes it easy to journal all the special moments that you want to never forget,a place to write all those wonderful thoughts that run through your mind, and to note all the exciting developements that they make in that first year, from the first bath and outing, to the first holiday and haircut- this book has a place for it all, and a place for all those pictures, too! It is kind of a "fill-in-the-blank" type journaling, to help get the memory going about the things you want to remember and the ones you might have forgotten. It starts before the baby was born, with how the parents met, married, the pregnancy, and day of birth through the first year. Including some pages for an adopted child. Examples of the fill in the blank would be something like, labor started on....at the time mom was...labor and delivery lasted....when mom and dad first saw me they...

Great Baby Record Book!.......2006-09-27

I searched for a baby book for several weeks, both online, and in various stores around me. This was the best one so far! It met my requirements of covering the first 5 years (most I found only covered the first year), has "Baby's First Christmas" and a second page for other first holidays (most only have one page for "Baby's First Holiday"), and the binding has some room for expansion when I add pictures and memorabilia. Too many other books have a thin binding and will not close properly once pictures are added. I would have preferred a binding that was spiral-bound like the three baby books my mom bought from Hallmark in the 80s. Those books securely hold everything my mom has included in them. I didn't want a binder b/c those pages can be torn too easily and too high risk for losing pages.

The artwork is adorable, the family tree being one of my favorites, and even though some pages have large illustrations that fill them, those can easily be covered with pictures and memorabilia. A helpful hint because this book doesn't come with pockets, buy the Memorabilia Pockets from Creative Memories. They are clear and self-adhesive.

The section for showers is only two pages, which might not be enough because I have a big family. Some books I looked at had only one page, or no pages at all. But there are enough extra pages that if I have to change them to cover other subjects that I'd prefer, I can easily do it. Finally, the box is a nice way to protect the book and keep everything with it for storage until it's all secured on the pages.

This book was very cute and had great pictures, but it only covered the ages of 1-5. It did not have room for pictures of sonograms and of pre birth.

Having memories of the past is a beautiful gift that we all cherish. A famous author once said "Memory is the treasury and guardian of all things" - Cicero, De Oratore.

This journal and scrapbook is a beautiful way for first time Grandmothers to pass on her treasures as a new Mother to her expectant daughter. How many times have we asked our Mothers, "what was it like giving birth to me?" or "what kind of baby was I?"

Each page of this lovely journal has a one line heading, and then an entire page for the Grandma to write about her experience. The first section is dedicated to the present and gives Grandma an opportunity to talk about your relationship now. Some of the answers you'll be anxious to read are to questions like, " I love you so much because...", "Being your mother has been...", and "When you first told me you were going to have a baby, I thought..."

Then you go down Memory Lane and get to learn all about Grandma's pregnancy: the birth and details about what you were like as a baby.

There are designated spots for photos, and at the end of the journal there are a few pages to detail special family traditions, family stories, and your family tree.

I can't think of a better gift to give my daughter when she becomes a mother, and I can't think of a better gift that I would have liked to receive from my mother. This journal is truly a unique gift to give and receive.
