This book is interesting and entertaining while teaching what is normally a very dry subject. There is enough review for a non-financial type to learn the jargon without being monotonous.

This is an easy, excellent accounting book. It's the best accounting book ever. The examples are clear and understandable. It's fun to read. It gives definitions that you'll remember, and is an excellent overview of accounting.
However, I'm only giving it three stars because it suffers from something that most accounting books suffer from: impossible examples.
This book is done like a worksheet. It's about half simple instruction and half impossible examples. The examples are impossible, because to actually fill them out, you'd have to remember tons of information from 1-10 pages ago. The part where you just read is very good. The part where you're supposed to fill out the account schedules on the pages of the book is almost impossible to do by yourself.
It would be an excellent workbook to be used in a 10-day accounting class, where you write in your book as the teacher writes in his or her book. But, if you're trying to do this on your own, you really would need to keep track of tons on numbers and receipts, etc., to even be able to do the examples.

I bought this for my daughter and we both love it (me more than her)! She is almost two and doesn't quite get the message of the book; however, she loves the fun rhymes. I can't wait untill she is old enough to make lemonade stand and help the cause. This is a great book for any child!

This is one of my new ALL TIME favorite books! I first came to know Alex on the TODAY show with Matt Lauer. She inspired me so much that I bought lemonade from every stand I could find that summer! I was so sorry that her little life was cut so short, but so thrilled that her spunk and determination and vision live on! EVERY child should be exposed to and read this book! There is no excuse for every library to not have it, and for every parent to not read it! Open a lemonade stand, and continue Alex' dream!

Not all of us are entrepreneurially driven at a young age - but if you know a youngster who is - get them this book! Written in a very readable manner (for kids and adults) this book is a great down to earth mix of story telling and practical "how to" advice for kids wanting to start their own business at a young age.

Do you want to earn money, but don't know how? If so, Beyond the Lemonade Stand is the perfect book for you. This short book is by Bill Rancic, winner of The Apprentice TV show. The book is full of useful tips for "saleskids" such as: what is investing and how do you do it. There are stories about how Bill and other children made money. My favorite chapter was managing your money, because I learned new ways to save my money. One reason that I adored this book was because there are sections you can fill-in. The whole last chapter you can write down your appointments and clients.
This book won't interest everyone, only kids who like non-fiction and enjoy making money (which I love to do). I think this book is a little expensive at $15 (including shipping). I would pay about $10 total for it. However, I really don't mind the price because 100% of the profit goes to children's charities. I treasure this book and recommend it to all "saleskids".

This book was short and easy to read - I read it in two days (while being a mom to 2 boys!). The author describes 6 circles: the individual, the family, the neighborhood, the community, businesses and government, and our elders; and gives examples of steps that people all around our country our taking within these 6 circles to create a safe culture for our children.
What I like most about this book is that it left me feeling hopeful and enthused about the steps I would take. The author does a great job of showing the reader that one doesn't necessarily have to spend a lot of money or tackle an overwhelming task in order to make a positive difference in our world; even little steps that fit in to one's lifestyle DO make a difference.
This book will change a reader's thoughts from, "I know something needs to be done, but what can I do?" to "What great ideas, I can start today!" I definately recommend this book! As a matter of fact, I'm buying copies for the principle of my son's school anf the mayor of our city!

I had alot of fun reading this to my kids who are just starting to get into math problems of their own at school. I really enjoyed the simple and colorful illustrations. I recommend this book if you want to help kids visualize math problems with everyday situations.

I remember this book from the fourth grade, and think the series should be reprinted. This is an engaging, well-illustrated detective story with a duo of clue-chasing heroines and their floppy dog. They start a business then must find out who is sabotaging it.
It must be a good book when it pops to mind 20 years after the intial reading!

I read this in 5th grade and still remember how much I enjoyed it since I loved mysteries. Pick it up and read it. It even has their lemonade recipe in the book!

I found Emmanuel Modu's book to be a necessity for all parents. Not just because it helps them encourage their kids into the business world, but also because it provides a guidline on how to help children become independent thinkers and happy individuals. Mr. Modu pinpoints many mistakes paretns [unintentionally]make while trying to teach their kids about the ways of life. After reading "The Lemonade Stand", parents will be able to overcome such mistakes and help groom their offspring into freethinking and dyamic people. If you take evertying written in this book to heart, you may be raising the next Rockeffellar or Larry Ellison ;)

This book should be read by adults as well as children. If you are a individual starting your own business for the first time and without any knowledge of how to manage a business then the lemonade stand is where you should start.

I read this book expecting something risqué, but to my delight it was very informative and humorous too! I thought I knew it all from reading books like "The Sensuous Man," but this one takes the arts of seduction and satisfaction to new levels. My girlfriend had difficult reaching orgasm and this book taught me how to correct this problem through a very easy to understand, descriptive explanation of what was going on with her body. Thank you so much Andrea, you have made our lives more enjoyable! Now if only the neighbors would stop complaining about the screaming...
