Information Overload.......2007-09-08
I felt like this journal had too many questions. "Who were the teachers you didn't like," "Were you ever lost while traveling?" "Do you remember the first hotel you stayed in?" "What is the best restaurant you've eaten in while traveling?" "Have there been times when you questioned your religion?"
The book is 143 pages with an average of 3 questions per page. The grandfather book that I purchased was so much better. It was much more to the point and had questions that my parents could still answer. My mom doesn't remember which local political candidates she has supported and why. The questions are too much. The book seems more like an interrogation than a loving memory journal.
Leave Your grandchildren more than stock and bonds!.......2007-08-07
This book is a GEM! Insightfully written with passion and wisdom. A must have book for every family. Great to give as a gift and great to buy as a grandparent to help you leave your unique story for generations to come. If you want your grandchildren to know who you are, you'll never have enough time face to face in this day and age of instant everything to share your life journey with them. You must get a copy of this book and fill it out. The time invested with this book will leave a family treasure.

Saving Generations.......2007-07-17
If your children's grandparents are still alive, or you know grandparents you must buy this book as a gift for them.
My wife's parents are both from Thailand and have such stories to tell! Her grandmother, while pregnant with her mother, was fleeing across Thailand, crossing rivers and dodging attacks as the Japanese invaded during WWII. She also told my wife, when she was a child, a Thai lore that took two years to finish. After she died, we all realized a lot of significant stories and information, who she was, what she thought, went with her.
Don't let that happen. This book is fun and thought provoking and will be nothing less than a time portal for the children as well as the grandchildren.
I only found two other books that were similar to this one and this is by far the best. It might not look as pretty as the other one, but it asks a huge variety of questions. They vary from how they met, to their friends growing up to religion and family tradition, significant history questions...all kinds of things. And it would be very easy to augment if you want, too.
Buying this book for every grandparent you know is a good thing for so many reasons.
Great way to really get to know your grandparents.......2006-07-06
I ordered this book for my grandparents to fill out for me. I lost my great grandmother before she had a chance to do anything like this, so I wanted to make sure to get the information from my grandparents. The questions are great, they fill you in on things that happened in your grandparents' lives that you might not learn otherwise. It hits on pretty much every aspect of their lives during almost every stage and has lots of insightful questions.
One tip: This book is meant for each set of grandparents to fill out only one book, but there is not really enough room under each question for both people's answers. I suggest one book per grandparent to leave them plenty of room to write!
Outstanding.......2005-09-12
This is an outstanding book. You'll have a blast first, reading through it and remembering things you haven't thought about in years and then, starting to write about them. Once you start one thought, others start flowing back like crazy, it's amazing. This book has questions in it that other books like it don't even come close to asking. You'll be tempted to forget about writing IN the book because you'll want more room to write all the memories and stories that you'll want to share, not just for the grand kids, but for your own kids. What fun. I wish my Grandparents had done this for me, what a treasure it would have been.

Making Memories.......2000-07-20
This is a wonderful book with beautiful illustrations. This is a must have for any bookshelf. It is a heart warming family story. I found this book while I was doing research for a Childrens Literature class. I read it once and fell in love with it and knew I had to have it.
A Great Book to Share.......1999-12-14
Janette Oke has written and Cheri Bladholm has illustrated a wonderful book about the gift of memories. A great springboard to launch a discussion of memories within your family and circle of friends. I'm giving this book along with homemade jam (memories of summer) and disposable camera (to capture future memories) to family members whom I don't get to see often.

Lovely Journal.......2006-01-12
A Grandparent's Treasure Chest was a pleasure to fill out becase it enriched the time I spent with my grandchild but I also knew someday I would give it to them as a gift and that they'll be able to look back on it throughout their life. Many of my memoires and feelings will bring back memories for them years later so it keeps on giving. It really is a treasure chest of memories and emotions.
Wonderful Keepsake.......2006-01-12
I've been writing in this journal for two years now and have loved it. I gave the completed journal to mmy granddaughter for Christmas and she loved it too. She is young and I think that as she gets older she will enjoy it even more. It will keep her memories of me fresh in her mind and allow her to recall times from her childhood that she would otherwise forget.
Journal for years to come.......2006-01-12
I am a single grandfather and have two young wonderful grandchildren and was givne this journal as a Christmas gift. I never wrote in journals before but after looking at the entries I saw how they involved life experiences all of us have and started writing as about my two young grandchildren over the holidays. I plan to fill a journal for each of my grandchildren and give it to them as a gift once they are complete. Its somehting they'll hAve long after I'm gone and will be a great way to rememebr me.
The Perfect Unique and Sentimental Gift .......2006-01-06
I'll be giving this journal to my mother as a "grandma-to-be" gift. Great as a present or a self-purchase, this journal allows grandparents to keep intimate, first-person accounts of memories and milestones they share with their grandchild, from notes to photos. An excellent keepsake, it will provide lasting joy for the grandparent and the grandchild, plus, the reasonable price makes it easy to purchase additional books for multiple grandchildren.
deceiving title.......2005-05-03
The title...The Grandparents' Treasure Chest: A Journal of Memories to Share with Your Grandchildren...is very deceiving. I sent this to my mother from my two children for Mother's day...thinking it was a book for more than one grandchild, as the title led me to believe. When she received the book, she said that all the questions are presented in such a way that it can only be for one grandchild. I purposely bought it because it was the only one I THOUGHT was for more than one grandchild.

A Tribute to Those Who Love, Nurture, and Inspire
To most of us, our grandma and grandpa are special people who have nurtured us from childhood into adulthood. A warm hug, freely given cookies and candy, a chance to stay up past bedtime are special memories that only our grandparents have given us.
Today's grandparents are just as likely to serve chicken nuggets as chicken soup and teach a computer game instead of a card game. Still, grandparents are always different from parents, allowed to spoil a child with the special love they give.
Grandparents Are Special is a loving tribute to those who seem to nurture with great patience, a celebration of the unique role grandparents play in our lives. Filled with anecdotes, poems, and quotes, this book is a perfect gift to those very special people.

Book Description
This book examines the use that Livy made of religious topics, and shows how this fits in with other aspects of his narrative. The author shows how `Livy's views of religion' depend less on personal belief than on the refinement of his narrative technique. He looks at the history decade by decade, and demonstrates that there are radical differences between different sections: in some Livy uses large-scale religious themes, but in others he deliberately avoids them. By a systematic analysis of Livy's narrative patterns and comparison with other ancient versions, it is proved that this is not simply due to subject-matter, but reflects a development in Livy's handling of his material. This profound difference between decades throws doubt on much of the standard picture of Livy: it also points to a need to revise notions of `Augustan religious ideology'.

Book Description
Livy, Tacitus and Ammianus Marcellinus wrote about the role played by gods in Rome's past. These men wrote around the time of Christ, at the beginning of the second and the end of the fourth century, respectively. Though their lives and periods did not overlap, a great deal of consistency can be seen in the way they presented, or "fine-tuned," religion for their times.
