Book review.......2005-08-07
This book wasn't as helpful as I expected. Alot of it just common things that are generally practiced with experienced dog owners. It really didn't offer any new activities.
Good start for first time dog owners.
a fun book to read and learn about your dog.......2005-02-24
My seven year old son loves this book and has taught me, as the mother, quite a few things for training and playing with our new puppy. A wonderful and playful, yet sensile approach for children.
GOOD, FUN BOOK.......2003-10-18
Great Book. Maybe not the best if you want basic training skills, but wonderful to teach your dog tricks. Not just for kids, but for anyone who wants to have fun with their dog!!! I highly recomend it.
This is a kids' book!.......2003-05-31
This is a kids' book! Well guess what, I had somehow missed that vital bit of information. If I'd known, I would never have purchased Totally Fun Things to do With your Dog.

Book Description
Carl is back in his ninth adventure!
Children barking at a squirrel in a tree? Carrying sticks in their mouths? Begging for food? Who could be responsible for such silly shenanigans except everybody's favorite baby-sitter, Carl, who takes a group of neighborhood children on a lively game of Follow the Leader. Readers will want to follow Carl's exploits through town and country again and again, and Alexandra Day's lush autumnal landscapes are the perfect setting for the funny goings-on in the game.

Another winner.......2007-05-18
These books have made me smile for the 15 years since I read Good Dog Carl to my infant son. If you love dogs, you will love and understand these books.
Yeah for Carl!.......2000-02-12
Follow Carl is a wonderful book for all fans of this special Rottweiler. He takes his charges through a fun filled day in the park. The colorful illustrations encourage the reader to embellish the story and truly have fun with this book. As the owner of two Rottweilers, all the Carl books are in my son's library! Three cheers for Carl!
Carl is the leader and the children love to follow!.......1999-11-08
Having all of the "Carl" books I thought perhaps Ms. Day would run out of "things" for Carl to do. Not so. Carl has plenty to do, so much that everyone ends up napping--some of the children are positioned like little puppies. Carl, of course, is his usual self. Very entertaining.
One of Ms. Day's excellent, enchanting Carl books........1999-08-30
As usual, Ms. Day has captured the essence of Carl and the childrens' escapades. Anyone who enjoys children and dogs (especially Rottweilers)will appreciate the accuracy of both the stories, the story line, the poses, and the facial expressions of all the characters.
One of the many enjoyable Carl books.

Tricks are for kids and Kitties.......2006-03-17
The ideas in this book were common sense. Even if this book was written for children as the audience, it was too obvious! Cute drawings. It should be advertising as a child's first cat book in the childrens section not in the adult section.
Just plain fun.......2001-03-05
This is a chocolate truffle of a book that is great for cat lovers of any age. Has a section on reading the body language of a cat. Includes some projects that cats (my cat does anyway) enjoy.

The simple instructions make each game easy to set up and play in as little as 10 to 15 minutes. Many of the exercises utilize items often found lying around the house, such as empty boxes or shopping bags and even soap bubbles. It also includes expert tips that explain your cat's playful behavior and shows you how to coax a cautious cat into play or calm an overexcited cat.
For the cat owner who wants to help his or her pet stay active and engaged,

Customer Reviews:
My boss loves this book.......2007-09-24
My boss--er, cat--would give this book two thumbs up . . . if he could!
The ideas are divided into sections, beginning with simple toys (such as a crumpled up piece of paper), and going into more elaborate toys made from cardboard.
The book would get five stars *if* some of the toys weren't store-bought, such as: a toy glove, a ball that drops a treat when played with, circle ball track, a cloth tube/tunnel, scratching post, cat tree . . . you get the idea! These are toys/games you can find out about just by looking at the pet store, and some are pricey.
However, overall, the book should provide inspiration and mostly (with some exceptions) low-cost, homemade ideas. Both cat and owner will mutually benefit from playing these games together. It's about time someone realized cats aren't aloof and do really want to interact with us . . . thank you, t.f.h!

Book Description
Completely and thoroughly revised, The Web That Has No Weaver is the classic, comprehensive guide on the theory and practice of Chinese medicine. This accessible and invaluable resource has earned its place as the foremost authority in the synthesizing of Western and Eastern healing practices.
Customer Reviews:
TCM for Geeks.......2007-09-12
Reading this book is like talking to a geek. If you enjoy conversations with geeks and learn a lot from them, this is the Chinese medicine book for you. If you tend to find such conversations confusing, dense, and boring, well, that's probably what you'll think of _The Web That Has No Weaver_ as well.
Excellent TCM Text for those with Scientfic Background.......2007-07-09
I'm surprised by some of the highly critical reviews here. I think this book is a wonderfully informative, eye-opening tome of an introduction to traditional chinese medicine. *If* you have a strong western science backgroud. For laypeople, it is a poor choice.
But the information you need is there, organized logically, and from a very analytical western scientific standpoint. The discussion of tcm as an entirely different science is particularly interesting.
Explaination.......2007-01-23
Oriental Medicine, is it all just phooey or is it ancient remedy for both past and modern ailments? Not scientifical backed, though proven, is not chemical, nor physical, but deeply spiritual, but hey this is a teen talking to you, currently rooting himself in Tai Chi and Accupressure. Chemicals and bonded elements/medication ... too much for you> The Web That Has No Weaver will immerse you in a world, easing the confusion. Want to know the aspects and components of spirit, Chi/Qui, Meridians,... read this guide and find out.
Perfect for the Ambitious Layman.......2007-01-12
Ted J. Kaptchuk's "The Web That Has No Weaver" is a fancinating and informative read that challanges the layman's understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine without getting bogged down by cultural discrpancies or technical jargon. Reading through the original text is fun and comprehensive; but for a deeper understanding of contemporary issues as they relate to the topic, the reader can look to the detailed footnotes and appendices.
The Web That Has No Weaver : Understanding Chinese Medicine.......2007-01-09
Very good book. Found it extremely useful while doing a homework in Chinese Medicine Diagnostic Tools!
