Loved it! Totally recommended. And when you are done, DO go an buy the previous two volumes! They are still very useful even with the changes in RV technologies. If only three of the 600 presented ideas come in handy, the price of the book is a bargain. I bought mine here, read it, and returned it to this site, and it sold in two days. It's an easy read, great pictures, easy concepts, wonderful. eMail me if you know of a similar source of clever/useful ideas for RV owners or Full-Timers.

Worthy of Space on Anyone's RV Bookshelf!!.......2006-10-31
To rephrase Ratty's famous comment to Mole in "The Wind in the Willows": There is nothing- absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in an RV.
By even the most charitable of definitions, I am not what anyone would call "handy" when it comes to fixing things about our sticks-and-bricks house. I am not good at it and I hate taking the time for even the most basic of repairs.
Having said that, I also note that I love puttering around our 5th wheel and could happily spend hours at a time on RV related projects! I guess that's why I think the 10 Minute Tech books are so terrific. More than 600 practical and money-saving ideas in each of the three volumes . . . clever, practical solutions to both everyday challenges and to obscure situations the average RVer will never come across. Each idea presents a practical, real-life solution. Each has been developed by an RVer. The projects are presented in language which is brief, understandable and to the point . . . and the illustrations do a great job of clearing up any questions left unanswered by the text.
The books are conveniently divided into sections on Livability, Safety, Appliances, Maintenance, Automotive, In Camp, Systems, Storage, Towing, Accessories, Sanitation, Doors-Hatches-Handles, Cleaning-Protecting, and Tools. Only a brief perusal is needed to start the creative juices flowing - to send the reader, tool box in hand, off on another project. A fun read when you are nowhere near an RV. An indispensable reference when you are on the road.

View this as a reference manual. I started reading it with the intention of going start to finish, but I found that to be a sure cure for insomnia.
If you want to look something up, it's fine, but it's definitely not spellbinding.
Don't Leave Home Without It!!.......2006-10-27
It is rare to find a "how-to" book which addresses both the needs of the mechanically skilled and the needs of those of us who break into a cold sweat at even the sight of a toolbox. This is such a book.
The topics covered, and the depth of the information, provide substance for even the most impassioned "do-it-yourselfer". On the other hand, those of us who are mechanically challenged find the step-by-step instructions and the detailed illustrations and photographs to be invaluable when circumstances require that we actually attempt to fix something.
The "RV Repair and Maintenance Manual", in each of its various editions, has accompanied us on our RV outings since we first got involved in the life style. We can't imagine hitting the road without it!

This directory is jammed packed with info on campsites all over the US and Canada and Mexico. It has great maps inside too for each state and the Good Sam Campgrounds are all marked. Each campground has a write up on it with amenities and everything else it offers along with phone numbers and websites. Great for anyone who is a member of Good Sam but also good for anyone else who just needs to find a decent campground.

We have owned the Trailer Life Directory for several years and find it to be an excellent investment for anyone who wants to know about the RV parks and campgrounds in the United States.
We have placed the tabs that come in the book into the various states locations so that we can quickly find the state that we want to learn about. We plan to purchase the 2004 edition when it becomes available as the prices change each year along with new rv campgrounds emerging and some no longer available.
An excellent way to know what is available ahead of time.
Before Planning a Trip, Buy a Guide.......2002-06-18
I've only been in RV'ing for a short time. Amoung the biggest fears I had in planning a trip was reserving a campgroung that was unsatisfactory. I went to the bookstore and spent an hour thumbing through Trailer Life and Woodall's. Both are great guides, but I found TL's rating to be much more thorough. They have three ratings 1-10 where Woodall's was just two 1-5. Both seemed to cover the same amount of spots and have the exact same ads, so on the outside they seemed to be just as accepted by campgrounds as the de facto guides. I've been pretty pleased with the ratings that TL provided, and it has kept me from being dissappointed. However, the listings are mostly by cities or mailing address. So if you looking to find a great campground in an area it may be listed under the mailing address rather then the area. That can be difficult to cross-reference city and town names with local areas. It'd be nice if they had a numbered map by region or state. That'd make it much easier for planning.

THE Essential Reference Work for Owners of Older RVs.......2007-03-04
This is THE must-have reference book for anyone owning or even shopping around for an older "starter RV" (say pre-1985), so that you'll at least have some clue what you're looking at and how to use it all properly once it's all yours.
It gives a superb overall view of the whole "home" part of the motor home, detailed tips and instructions on how to maintain these systems and, just as importantly, what to leave to the specialists. Also describes other topics of special mechanical interest to RVers such as electric and other types of trailer brake systems, hitches and so forth.
Considering the fact that a nice used copy can often be had here on Amazon for less than the price of a happy meal, it'd be kinda silly not to check it out if you are or are planning to push or pull an older rolling flophouse down the highway. And for a swell companion volume on the overall 'mechanics' of the chassis of pre-'85 rigs, such as engine, drivetrain and whatnot, giving lots of specific info on how to make it all run as well as can be, find yourself a copy of 'Trailer Life's Rx for Rv Performance and Mileage' [...]

Great Campground Guide for Trailers.......2000-04-18
This is a wonderful resource for anyone who travels with a camper or RV. The guide gives the traveler an excellent idea of what to expect at each campground listed (all of North America). Listings are by state and are cross referenced by campground name. Campgrounds are rated for completeness of facilities, cleanliness/construction of restrooms and showers, and visual/environmental appeal. I think the most helpful aspect of the guide is the restroom cleanliness star rating system. Trailer Life 2000 has made my family vacation planning so much easier.

This is a big book and I was hoping for a lot of useful information. But, if you are a member of AAA, save your money and get their free CampBooks. The directory lists mostly campgrounds you can find on your own by searching the internet for KOA, Good Sam, etc. If you own a big RV and just want to park it somewhere along with 100's of others, then you may have use for this book.

SOME REALLY NICE PIECES.......2007-02-21
This book does a good job of covering the necessary steps to creatiung foam art decor and provides some beautiful photos to inspire as well as in depth directions to complete. Much are old world look with filligree, celtic, scrolls etc, that gives a rod iron earthy heavy appearance. I would have also liked something to contrast these pieces in a more vibrant color and design. Still a good book to work from.

I just received this book and was truly inspired to start my own foam decor. This book is very complete in its directions, list of materials and substitutions. There are patterns enclosed in an envelope in the back of the book. There is no need to destoy the pages of the book in order to use them. This book includes beautiful pictures of the finished product. I can't wait t get started. Kristy McNeil is sooooo creative! You will love this book.
