Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

People teens admire talk about God.......2007-04-13
Author Amy Hammond Hagberg wanted to help teens--her own and others--answer questions about God, including the big question: "How do you know he's real?"
Hagberg wrote to sports stars, recording artists and other celebrities, asking them to reflect on their life experiences and share how the reality of God was making a difference to them personally and professionally. The responses she received--from NBA players, Christian musicians, 'American Idol' contestants and others--are honest, revealing, and often compelling.
The resulting book is a collection of celebrity essays: mini-bios that focus on the reality of God in the midst of media attention, success and failure, and broken relationships. Contributors include Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic basketball team, quarterback David Carr of the Houston Texans, and popular Christian recording artist Clay Crosse.
Some of the interviews are especially helpful for Hagberg's original target readers: teens. Among these, Chrissy Conway of 'Zoe Girl' talks about her parents' divorce, the party scene, and the twists and turns along her personal career path in ways that connect with teens and with anyone who has ever considered attempting a career in music.
Hagberg is a gifted and skilled writer who keeps readers turning the pages as she unpacks celebrity affirmations of the presence of God in their lives. A great gift book for readers from teens through Gen X, but the stories here will interest readers of any age!
Note: Reviewer Dr. David Frisbie is an author and Executive Director of The Center for Marriage & Family Studies in Del Mar, California.
Armchair Interviews says: Anything that can help teens understand their role in living a good life is good.
Celebrities share their faith.......2007-03-11
This is an ideal book to give to people who have questions about becoming a Christian, and who love sports and music celebrities.
44 extreme sports and music celebrities tell their stories in this book, from Jonny Lang (recording artist), to Barlow Girl (rock group), Kimiko Soldati (Olympic diving), CJ Hobgood (surfer), Dwight Howard (NBA player, Orlando Magic), Mick Hannah (downhill mountain bike racer), Jimmie McGuire (professional motocross rider) and more.
They share hard times they faced, how they became Christians and how their paths are more joyful due to their faith. Being a Green Bay Packer fan I turned to Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila's story of growing up in South Central Los Angeles with a tough background, a Muslim dad and a Christian mom, and how his becoming a Christian led to his current happy family life and NFL career. Christian Hosoi, professional skateboarder, after serious drug problems, is now leading a skateboarding ministry.
The two page "God's Road Map" at the end of each celebrity's story contains perceptive questions and Scriptures. Sports and music lovers will enjoy this book, and it can even be a "past watchful dragons book" that will steer doubting people on a new clear path.
god unplugged.......2007-02-02
God Unplugged by Ammy Hagberg was very interesting. It is 403 pages long and was published in 2006 by Destiny Image. In the story top athletes, musicians, and also stars tell how god helped them get where they wanted to be and changed their lives.
In the story there were 44 celebrity reflections on true life experiences with god. Many of these celebrities have been extremely low in their lives and god has pulled them out of them. Also in some cases they have had no luck in there lives and finally achieved their goals after they gave there lives god. All of these people believe that god has either given them opportunities or even the strength to work through where they were to get to where they want to be.
I thought that this was a good book. I enjoyed reading it and seeing how god has changed all of these people's lives. The strengths of this book are that it has top named celebrities that people actually want to read about. The weakness of this book is that there is nothing to find out nest so you don't have a reason to keep reading. I did like how god actually gave them the strength to continue and succeed in life. The writing was very boring to me, but I liked the idea.
The book gave a lasting effect on me because I have a saint Christopher necklace that my grandma gave to me before she passed away and that keeps me safe when I race motorcross. So, I think that god has a great power on us. I would recommend this book, it will make you think.
After reading this, you certainly KNOW he is real!.......2007-01-25
Truly, this, and the book before this, are really awesome books!
** Why?
Because they give some very good insights into other peoples way to God. Not only that, if you don't know the Bible inside and out (and even if you do, actually!), there are quotations from the Bible explaining the why and hows, depending on the story of the person interviewed.
All this, with Amy Hagbergs very nice way of writing (down to earth serious mixed with a nice blend of humor) makes this book a pleasure to read!
Personally, I strongly recommend this book to everyone. It might be those who Seek, or those who have found, it doesn't matter, in my opinion! :)
Fantastic book!.......2007-01-24
What a great book! Amy Hagberg has gathered some of today's biggest sports and music celebs to talk about how they know God is real. This book is in stark contrast to so many of today's depressing, tragedy-focused headlines. And the list of celebrities is impressive! [...]
Book Description
OUR CATS AND ALL ABOUT THEM: THEIR VARIETIES, HABITS, AND MANAGEMENT; AND FOR SHOW, THE STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE AND BEAUTY. By Harrison Weir. A READ COUNTRY BOOKS CLASSIC REPRINT. Originally published in 1889 this rare book has long been considered a classic among cat books. It is now very hard to find in its first edition. READ COUNTRY BOOKS have republished it, using the original text and illustrations as part of their HISTORY OF THE CAT series. The author spent over fifty years carefully researching the history, and observing the nature of the cat in preparation for writing this important work. He noted their habits, watched their ways and found lasting pleasure in their companionship. The book abounds with Harrison Weir's beautiful engravings of cat varieties and associated subjects. Two hundred and sixty pages contain many comprehensive chapters on the ways of the cat, its habits, instincts, peculiarities, usefulness, colours, markings, forms, etc. Other chapters deal with the folk and other lore, including superstitions and proverbs, both ancient and modern, connected with the cat. Of much interest to the serious cat enthusiast will be the notes and descriptions on the various varieties of cat: Long Haired Cats - The Angora. - The Persian Cat. - The Russian Long Haired Cat. - The Tortoiseshell Cat. - Tabby Cats. - The Abyssinian. - White Cats. - Black Cats. Blue Cats. - Siamese Cats. - Manx Cats. Wild Cats. - Various Others. Also included is information on breeding, mating, diseases, showing, points etc. This is a fascinating and well illustrated read for any cat lover or historian of the breeds, but also contains much information that is still useful and practical today. Many of the earliest cat books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. READ COUNTRY BOOKS are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.
Customer Reviews:
Every cat breeder needs this book.......2007-08-17
For a cat breeder, or those just interested in the origin of the cat breeds this is THE book to own. It marks the point in time when cats started to move from a poorly understood, often abused animal to the family pet we know today.
Everyone who loves cats should know about this man, his work and this book.
Written in a style only the Victorian English could do so well, it is a time machine to another time, another place and another view of the world.
It's also about cats!

Splendid text and photographs.......2002-09-25
This delightful book investigates the cat, its relationship with man and the development of the specialised breeds found today. It provides a practical guide to the care of one's pet while making entertaining excursions into the lives of famous cats of fact and fiction by using quotes from prose and poetry and showing cats in works of art. The book in fact opens with the poem My Cat Jeoffry by Christopher Smart and includes quotes from Chaucer and John Skelton. Cats feature in the works of famous artist like Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Dürer, Tintoretto, Ghirlandaio, Hieronymus Bosch, Brueghel and many others. In a way, the text serves also as a bibliography of works dedicated to cats, or in which they are mentioned, by people like Mark Twain, Doris Lessing, Tenessee Williams, Truman Capote and many others. There is even a chapter on Cats in the East. The character of the cat is described and compared with other animals, and its early history traced from the first appearance of the species, through the ancient Egyptian reverence for sacred cats to its association with magic and witchcraft in the middle ages. The enthusiasm and love of cats expressed by great figures in history make delightful reading. The different breeds that now exist are considered in turn and rare types like the Tibetan, Paraguyan, Kimona, Malay, Oriental, Bobtail and Korat are described. The author also provides practical advice on choosing the right cat and caring for it from kittenhood through all the phases of its life. With more than 200 pictures in black & white (including pics of Henri Matisse, Robert Graves & Ernest Hemingway with their cats) - plus over 40 more in full color - an intoxicating gallery of cats and kittens is provided. This is a classic book and a must-have for all people who are owned by or love cats.

Customer Reviews:
Lavish Lace.......2007-05-12
This is an excellent book. I am a hand dyer and have used many of the patterns and designs. I teach knitting and some of my beginner knitters can do some of these patterns very well. Their success is great to see. I did not give it 5 stars because some of the colorways and finished products look a little dowdy. Otherwise, I love this book.
A good addition to a collection of books on lace knitting.......2006-03-14
This is a good lace learner's book. The projects develop from very simple to more complex. For each project there is an excellent discussion of yarn, needles, and the pattern as well as the author's inspiration for the project. Unfortunately, the author tries too hard to justify the yarn selection. It's clear she has a friend who dyes the yarn and is trying to showcase the yarn often at the expense of the lace pattern.
For each project, there are photos and discussion of the pattern knit in other yarns. Then, in a section called "learning curve" there is an explanation of what you should be learning and why this project fits in this position in the sequence. The "technical tips" section shows that Cheryl Potter understands lace and is a fine teacher of lace knitting.
However, the book as two tragic flaws. First, the yarns selected mask the glories of the lace. A begining lace knitter needs to see the pattern clearly. And, if I'm going to the trouble to knit lace, I don't want anything to hide the pattern. Second, the photos don't show off the lace. None of the photographs made me want to knit the project.
This book is a good addition to a collection of lace books, but won't stand alone.
Beautiful, beautiful lace!.......2005-10-12
I liked this book so well, I ordered a second copy as a gift for a dear friend. I won't always be able to afford the hand-painted yarns to work with, but even just using less expensive yarns will still create some truly beautiful works of art. The patterns aren't difficult to follow, and the results are worth the concentration! I highly recommend this book!
Really Beautiful Lace.......2005-09-25
This is a must have for lace knitters. The only problem I have is that all the patterns are charted. I prefer to knit from written instructions. Many times, both are included, but not in this book. The photos are very nice. There is a nice variety of projects also. Just be prepared for charts.
Mediocre at best.......2005-08-06
The photography is exceedingly poor. The items were best displayed on the models, but the close-ups were poor. Dark colored, handpainted yarn was not the way to go to persuade anybody to try a particular pattern. Meg Swanson's Treasury of Lace Knitting will show you how photography for this sort of book SHOULD be done. Artsy meanderings about each project's "inspiration" in color and pattern selection didn't help. At least one pattern has an error in it. Really, these charts are not so complex that they couldn't be proofread.
