Book Description
Walk into a bar or restaurant in Barcelona and chances are that you will enounter a beautiful tile pattern on the floor. In the late 19th century, mass reproduction of intricately designed floor tiles became possible, and they became a common feature in the interiors of buildings in cities all around the Mediterranean. In Barcelona, the design of such tiles reached its peak in the age of 'Modernismo', the Spanish variety of Art Nouveau, in the early 20th century. Barcelona Tile Designs features a colorful collection of carefully restored and digitized designs. Both single tiles and whole patterns and borders are shown, and the tiles on the CD make it possible to create designs in any shape and size. A great resource for design professionals and hobbyists alike.

Barcelona Tile Designs as a Designer's Tool.......2007-04-11
Designers, be they in graphics, fabrics, household products, or hobbiests can find wonderful ideas in this book. It is an excellent resource for designs with an Iberian influence from the late 1800's forward and includes a brief history of the tile making process. As a quilter who likes to deviate and/or expand upon traditional quilt blocks, I find such resources very helpful in using existing fabric prints as a jumping off point for borders, blocks, or over-all patterns. This is just one of several Agile Rabbit Editions I highly recommend. Baroque: Patterns (Agile Rabbit Editions)Floral Patterns (Agile Rabbit Editions S.)Renaissance (Agile Rabbit Editions) and many more.

A great source for the one (or two) bunny family!.......1999-01-14
This is a book for those that don't want to have a rabbitry. It is designed for the person who wishes to raise just one rabbit as a pet and as a wool source. Comprehesive and well written, it includes sections on how to grade, harvest and use your fiber.
Excellent resource book for every aspect of angora rabbits........1998-11-23
This book is absolutely outstanding for the serious spinner and for those who raise angora rabbits for their wool. There is much information I was unable to find anywhere else.
Covers all breeds of angora rabbits in relation to spinning........1998-10-11
I checked this out of the library 5 times before I finally bought it. It's very informative for anyone interested in raising and spinning the four breeds of angora rabbit.

a good simple introduction book.......2005-07-25
This is a good simple introduction book about chinchillas and their needs; simple & easy enough for older children & adults. I think it is necessary to follow thru with a more detailed book if a person is considering getting a chinchilla or need to care for a chinchilla, but this book will give you the basics to decide if you want one. I keep my copy near my chinchilla in case I'm not around and someone wants to know a little about my Lullaby.

Customer Reviews:
Not many projects I would make, but some good tips.......2007-09-10
Frankly, there is not alot of projects in this book I would want to make. I was hoping the box would be a woodbox instead of one that was pasted stuff on. However, it gave me some ideas I can use in my own craft.
A good collection of "how-to's".......2006-05-31
This book is a great catalog of rituals. More than that, it has been a useful basis for rituals of my own creations. I've long used the magic box craft, in fact it's become a favorite ritual of mine. I've created a couple of rituals of my own based upon the information I've taken from the magic box chapter. One thread that permeates Scott Cunningham's books is that everyday magic is a must for your growth. One way you can begin weaving your magic into a daily practice is by working on a spell craft. Pick up a copy and you'll see what I mean.
Beginner friendly.......2005-07-08
I've had this for years and still find myself going back and using it frequently. Scott wrote beautifully and clearly. It's a great book for beginners and will get you consistent results. I also recommend:Magickal Needlework by Dorothy Morrison and Witch Crafts by Willow Polson. These are wonderful books as well.
But as for this book, if you are seeking to make magickal objects this is a wonderful way to start.

Great crafts.......2005-02-21
Neat craft book - with quite a variety of things to make. Level of difficulty/time required varies on the craft - some like the potpourri are pretty easy, while others like candle making are a bit more time consuming. There are hand drawn pictures throughout and the instructions are pretty straightforward - each broken out in steps. One of the interesting things is that its not just crafts to make, there is also information on how/when to use the thing you made. For example, on the craft of making a broom, there are ideas on when to use the broom (e.g. winter and spring for home purification). Throughout the crafts there are also chants/poems you can say as you complete the craft. As we make things we instill our energy in them and we're reminded of this in this book.
Crafty Book for the CraftWise.......2003-09-28
This is a reprint of the original book published in 1993. As Scott wrote then: "We freely admit that this is an unusual book. It challenges the reader to take part in the entire magical process, from crafting the tools to utilizing them in ritual. It harkens back to the days when everything was handmade, when stores were few and people had to be self-reliant."
The book is broken down into two major sections. The first "beginnings" contains chapters of information about magical tools, laying on of hands, 'the true meaning of craft', `what is magic?', goal of magic, and `empowering your crafts'.
The second major section is "the ways". This is the section on working the spells, and is divided up into chapters by topic, such as `sand painting', `a pentacle, protective plaque, runic dice', `a magic mirror', `spell boxes' and many, many more.
There is a third section `the tables', which gives tables of correspondences for colors, herbs, shells, stones and more.
The book was written with David Harrington, a long time friend and co-author who also put together the biography of Scott Cunningham with deTraci Regula.
The book is reflective of Scott's style of simple and easy to understand step by step instructions, personal insights, and the respect Scott had for working with magical energy. The first chapter "The Magic of Hands" is a wonderful essay on the evolution of hands and mind as magical tools from the first gestures to the final thought. It is worth the book alone for this chapter.
But Scott and David include many other gems that make the whole book a worthwhile addition to your library. They give expert advice on how to make your crafts and how to make them count, how to use them in your spellwork and what to expect when you do work spells with your crafts.
If you are the `do it yourselfer' type of hands-on witch who loves to get their fingers into their work and feels, as most of us do, that if you make it yourself it can only enhance your work, this is a good book for ideas to expand what you already practice.
For the beginner, who Scott always wrote for, this book explains how to get started, what basics you need to know and what to do with it once you get started.

Customer Reviews:
Finally!!!!.......2006-11-04
I've followed a pagan path for 7 years. I've blown through various internet "101" courses left and right. I reached a point on my path that I wanted to start getting ready to teach my children when they were old enough. I wanted to spare them the hours upon hours of taking notes from dozens of books, transferring to note cards, then constructing them into a format that was condusive to learning. Guess what....that's what this book is!!!! By the way Mr. Batty...where were you more than a year ago when I started that "little" project?!?!?!? If you remember back to high school textbooks...this is the textbook that would have been in a Wicca/Witchcraft 101 class. The format is unbelievable!! It has study questions at the end of each section and even a comprehensive "Final Exam". It's designed for a teacher as well as a student of the craft. I've started a magical group and we'll use this as a textbook in our education course!! I've ordered dozens upon dozens of books off of amazon.com and other sites. I've never left a review for any of them. But I couldn't sit back without giving this one the recognition it deserves. This book is new and I actually think I'm the first reviewer. Scroll back up...and click that order button if you are new to the craft or a veteran wanting to teach others. There isn't another book like this...you won't be disappointed!!!
Customer Reviews:
Reward's for being creative........2000-08-26
I was searching for a way to create magical items with a mage and picked up this book and found it defines this and more. I was able to hunt for magical components and this book helped with the research factor.
I wanted to find a few off-the-wall components and this book helped to define a good way to do that. It was helpful in answer magic related questions about Mages and what an Enchanter is good for or an Invoker. This book is a must if you plan of playing or running Mages, it is very helpful.
Good book with spells and NWPs galore!.......2000-04-12
Spells & Magic is a good, well-written, fairly well organized book packed with spells for both wizards and preists, along with numerous NWPs.
Unique in the good way.......2000-01-09
Unlike "Skills and Powers" and "Combat and Tactics", "Spells and Magic" does not introduce a wholly new set of rules that the other two books in the series are infamous for. "Spells and Magic" so rarely deviates from the original rules and presents so much expanded materials ( rather than totally new), you will soon be immersed into the originality of the effort. While this is basically a second take on The Complete Wizard's Handbook, it accomplished its goals so much better and quicker that it has plenty of leftover space to introduce several new subdivisions of the magic-user class and many other useful innovations. My advise as for Spells and Magic? Opt for this rules expansion - steer clear of its comrades.
Very good book for all types of Spellcasters.......1999-10-07
This book is a great source of information for any type AD&D game, this book includes detailed info about all types of Spellcasters and includes too the system of Character Point's already seen in the Player Option's:Skills&Powers but expanded and woth more option's this time for all Spellcaster. There is a system that you can create your own spellcaster type and almost create a new class, by choosing it advantages, disadvantages special powers and special traits. The books also include a system and a table of critical hit caused by magic. The book is very interisting and very good it worth the price you pay. Get it if you can.
A necessary book to spells casters.......1999-07-09
The new spells and the new rules of this book made the mechanics of the game more realist and more "playable". An important acquisition for every spellcaster and most adventurers.
Amazon.com
As every parent knows, licensed Harry Potter merchandise has exploded on the marketplace, but now young wizard hopefuls can learn how to make their very own magic gear with The Book of Wizard Craft. Although this inventive and engaging volume bears no actual connection to the mighty Master Potter, many of the projects were clearly inspired by his adventures and attributes. Seems just about everyone is jumping on the wizard-craze bandwagon these days, but this spirited incarnation is done with skill.
Wishing to pass along his 600 year's worth of arcane lore, the ancient wizard behind this creative collection shares his secrets for wizard regalia (bejeweled turban, hourglass pendant, magic cloak, wands, staffs, and the obligatory robe), the decorative arts (magic carpet, crystal ball, celestial sheets), horticulture (fairy circle, carnivorous-plant terrarium), animal husbandry (dragon scales, eye of newt, apothecary carry-all), book arts (secret journal, invisible inks, quill pen), astronomy (constellation caster), alchemy (magic potions galore), and amusement (party ideas, decorations, spooky edibles), and much more. Bewitching painted illustrations add sprightly fun and help to further clarify relatively good directions. Even kids who want nothing to do with sorcery in the craft room will enjoy reading the magical myths, international legends, and witchy stories. --Amy Handy

Brilliant NOT.......2006-01-03
A mold garden? What a brilliant idea. As if mold isn't spreading fast enough already and ruining homes and wrecking lives and clogging the courts. Just Brilliant. The Book of MORON Craft: In Which the Apprentice Finds Kids, and makes them into MORONS.

Imaginative!.......2005-12-16
Very cool book - my 10 year old loves it and wants to make everything in it. Neat padded cover - great for the Harry Potter generation. Wish this was around when I was 10!
It's Magical!.......2005-03-29
I loved this book and it's has very interesting stories also! I love making all the things in this book and it's fun stuff to do on a rainy day. I am just adoring this book! I work on my projects from The Book of Wizard Craft all the time! I would definitly get this book for serious fun! And it's a great hobby!
My Children Wanted to Start Right Away!!.......2004-02-03
This book is fantastic. We received the book today in the mail. My two children and I looked at the book from cover to cover. They told me they want to start tomorrow on making the crafts that are in the book.
This book is perfect for Harry Potter fans. From robes, to wands, potions, hiding boxes, crystal balls..you name it.
The way the author has written this book is funny. You can just feel the author enjoyed writing this book.
My children loved it as soon as I turned the first page.
Best Book EVER!.......2003-06-15
I personally would recommend this book to anybody, Harry Potter fan or not. This is a great book, and it tells how to make two different kinds of wands, robes, cloaks, crystal balls, potions, a wizard's hat, turban, and more! It also tells how to make a wizard party, etc.
I got this book for my birthday about two years ago, and I've read it through at least ten times since then. If I have nothing to do, I just sit down and read it. It's got lots of stories, so if you just feel like reading, it's the right book.
I hope this was helpful!

What would you expect from Llewellyn & Conway?? .......2007-07-26
I can't speak as to the general accuracy of the majority of the contents of this book, but I can tell you that specifically in the case of Conway's entry for Freyja she informs us that one of her alternate names, Syr, means "seer." A simply Wikipedia search can tell you it means "sow." In addition, she erroneously claims Freyja was in charge of the Valkyries. With simple facts such as these not checked by the author or the editors and publisher, why would you trust anything else in the book? If you're a serious student of Wicca I suggest you don't even bother.
Moon Magick Review.......2007-01-16
This is a very good book. I like the way it has recipes for different times of the year. I also like the different myths that they tell. All in all I would recommend this book to anyone interested in moon magick or just interested in the moon.
A Must for Any Solitary Practitioner or Coven.......2007-01-09
I have used this book almost every month in some way. I love that the author has addressed all cultures and gives recipes, crafts, and Ritual ideas. All phases of the moon are also addressed. I highly recommend most of D.J. Conway's books, especially this one.
Understanding myth and lore behind the moon.......2003-07-06
This book is seperated into months and from there tells important days to different cultures, goddesses associated with that month as well as spells and recipes for that month. Also gives the name of each month's full moon as well as explains the blue moon. An excellent reference book for any witch to have on hand.
A little bit of everything.......2003-07-01
If you are lookinf for in-depth spiritual, religious, magickal, or scholarly discussion of paganism and/or Wicca, this isn't the book for you. But the invaluable usefulness of this book is that it gives you a vivid, hands-on taste of the world's many spiritual traditions - from Greece, to Egypt, to Ireland, to Africa, to Japan, to China, to Middle America, etc etc. Through myths, rituals, recipies, crafts, and holidays you familiarize yourself with a diverse array of cultures. This book helps you figure out which cultures you feel most compatible with so that you could pursue them further through in-depth books. Other than that, this book brings the lunar year to life with fun activities you could do to imbue the seasons with spiritual meaning and celebrate the moon's many phases.
