Very important book for cats, inspiring to people.......2007-04-28
This book helps us to focus on what would be possible. We are now honing our woodworking skills to put up many shelves and ramps. Those without woodworking skills or aptitude might want to get a handyman.
But there are many relatively simple ways to increase your cats' territory and excitement. They love to be up high. All cat owners know that. There are companies you can find online, google cat shelves, that will build them for you and send with installation instructions. We have more time than money, plus enjoy doing these projects.
AS others have written, there are ideas here that I never could have imagined.
Plus it's a beautifully photographed book.

One lady rescued a mom-cat and her 5 kittens; and, instead of splitting up the brood, has kept all 5 kittens as her new family. Another lady shared stories with me, of her 4 cats at home, who are part and parcel of her life. How nice a way, to pay tribute to the Cat Lovers in YOUR life, with a copy of this endlessly entertaining, endearing book.

One of the most inspiring books. When planning suprises to my cats i normally have a peak in this book... not doing exatly like this, but the essence of giving fun adventure for cats is ...fun. Fantastic!

A surreal, utterly unique Turkish novel.
In an ancient Mediterranean city, a tradition is maintained: every ten years an archaic game of human chess is staged, the players (visitors versus locals) bearing weapons. This archaic game, the central event of The Garden of the Departed Cats, may prove as fatal as the deadly attraction our narrator feels for the local man who is the Vizier, or Captain, of the home team. Their "romance" (which, though inconclusive, magnetizes our protagonist to accept the Vizier's challenge to play) provides the skeletal structure of this experimental novel. Each of their brief interactions works as a single chapter. And interleaved between their chapters are a dozen fable-like stories. The folk tale might concern a 13th-century herbal that identifies a kind of tulip, a "red salamander," which dooms anyone who eats it to never tell a lie ever again. Or the tale might be an ancient story of a terrible stoat-like creature that feeds for years on the body of whomever it sinks its claws into, like guilt. These strange fables work independently of the main narrative but, in curious and unpredictable ways, (and reminiscent of Primo Levi's The Periodic Table), they echo and double its chief themes: love, its recalcitrance, its cat-like finickiness, and its refusal to be rushed.
With many strata to mine, The Garden of the Departed Cats is a work of peculiar beauty and strangeness, the whole layered and shiny like a piece of mica.

Tabby Cat is hiding in the garden waiting for "a host of butterflies who'll dart and flit and play!" She starts seeing colors and thinks they are them but each time she thinks she finds them; it's a friend. Will she ever find her butterflies?
This is a sweet little story of a cats hunt for her butterflies. Overall it's a nice flip book. The artwork is good. Especially Tabby Cat who has a sweet face. The suspected butterflies are bright shinny colors which will make kids curious as to what they will be.
In the end Tabby cat of course finds her butterflies. The final page has many of them.
Overall a good book and it actually made my girl curious about butterflies as she has picked her favorites from the page and wants to know more about them.

Fun Book for Children.......2004-04-14
I bought this book for my 8 yr. old daughter, and she loved it! Cute, funny, and a little surprise at the end. Is very easy to read, lots of beautiful colorful pictures, cute little story. A good little book for those children interested in plants, gardening, or even spring. At the back of the book, there is even a little descriptive tutorial about fun ways to plant your garden. Little fun things to do, like make a square pumpkin out of a milk jug, and turn your garden into a surprise garden. Wonderful Book!

Page Dickey has compiled a series of visits to gardens of various types and climes and demonstrates in this lovely little gentle book that not only does she know her horticulture, but also she has a fine photographer's eye for the quirky personalities of cats. In a matter a few pages, Dickey acquaints us with the 'owner cats' of the various gardens and has captured whimsical and languorous moments in the lives of these felines blessed with gardens of great beauty. Each garden (and cat!) visit is accompanied by editorial comments that range form humorous to informative to a bit cute. This is one of those 'perfect gift' ideas for you and for friends who love their gardens and the feline guardians of the property. Some of the most picturesque gardens in the U.S. and abroad are the settings for these great cat photographs. Felines have a way of knowing which backgrounds will best set off their charm so these candid pictures are wonderful. Short essays about each setting and the cats who patrol are just right. I have a fair sized collection of cat books but the pictures and text in this little volume are better than any on my shelf. This will be my gift book of choice for the cat lovers among my friends. This book is wonderfully expressive, showing the wild side of kitties in the night. The illustrations might be a little bit scary for younger children, but over all the book is truly a treat, each page comes alive before your eyes, I couldn't wait to see what the next page would look like, and the story is sweet.

Great manual for repairing your yard tractor.
Very usefull book to repair yourself garden tractor........1998-01-23
In the first part, the book give the essential procedures, for each listed tractor, to take apart garden tractors major sections as : - Front axle and steering system - Drive belts, clutch, brake, PTO drive - Transaxle (gear and hydrostatic) - Hydraulic system The adjustment procedure where it's applicable with excellent exploded view of each section. The second part treat of transaxles by brand name for overhaul procedure. The last part contains the overhaul procedure for almost all garden tractor's engine treated in first part with remove and install procedure, critical torque specifications and referenced figures. It cover the mechanical and electrical section. Very usefull book!

we are a firearms distributor in manila and have been on a lookout for a source book with as many guns with the corresponding details as possible. guess i found it right here in this book. it contains every bit you want to know about guns, except for the performance, where you wont obviously get in a book like this. anyway, its a great book overall, but it could have gotten five stars if it had more pages in color. most were in black and white. nevertheless, it has really helped our business a lot
