Helpful and informative.......1999-07-13
I would reccomend for english riders to read the entire Threshold Picture Guide series, but am going to review th guide on "Preparing for a Show". The entire series is written in England, so terms such as "plaiting a mane and tail" (braiding) or wearing a "crash helmet" may cause minor confusion amongst American riders. However, it is an excellent guide for preparing your horse or pony for a show.

Finally someone to provide information on a growing form of in hand showing. Great information for anyone learning to show Sport horses in hand. Everything from the training, the pattern, attire, grooming.

This book is the first of its kind to cover showing the sporthorse and hunter in-hand. It covers all that one needs to know to prepare for the show, from training the horse, to grooming, to presenting the horse. There is also a lot of information to help a person learn what to look for when buying a sporthorse.
This book can be useful to the training of any young horse, whether it is to be shown or not, because the horse learns respect and how to behave in the presence of its handler.

The second hand copy I bought looks as good as new. The ideas and concepts presented are solid and yes, the guidelines are so practical. They are also flexible in the sense that they allow one to adapt concepts to a particular 'culture' context.

From the supplier: The American Society of Association Executives Foundation's annual think tank discussion last Sep 1992 at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, FL, discussed the future of trade shows and expositions. Participants also studied past and current trends and analyzed the implications of future trends. They formed two subgroups which developed positive and negative future scenarios and created strategies to cope in those conditions. This book is an absolute necessity for any hockey card collector or autograph collector. This book also is great to just browse and learn about the history of hockey cards.
The book has numerical listings for virtually every hockey card ever issued, including many local or regional issued cards. In addition to that comprehensive list, the book simplifies things by relisting all of these cards alphabetically! It also has at least one picture of a card from most sets.

Identified EVERY card I have, and I have thousands. Each set is described, along with a listing for every card in the set. Good information on PSA grading and history of hockey cards. Can't wait for the 2000 version!

This book has all the oddball and promo cards that collectors can't find values for. I have filled the ?'s in my collection on prices. It also has the checklists of all players, all-star or common. Great book, behind a great name.
Excellent way to price any card you own........1999-02-18
This book has contained prices to almost every card I own. I am from St. Louis and I have been able to find values on my Blues cards from McDonalds, my college team cards, the cards I bought in Finland, and my autographs. There is an alphabetical checklist for every player from Wayne Gretzky to Willie O' Ree to Anti Ollinen. If you have a hockey card, chances are it will be in this book.
