The Most Informative Bowling Book Available .......2007-03-13
I ordered three books on bowling and this one by Michelle Mullen is the best of the three. After reading this book I went out and shot games of 199 and 200+, it's the truth. If you want to improve your game or are looking for some good advice then definitely buy this book. I don't recommend buying "From Gutter balls to Strikes" because the author doesn't know how to write a book. He claims to provide you with 101 of the most common mistakes but for the most part it's not good advice. Stick with "Bowling Fundamentals" and you will be fine.
Excellent explanation of the geometry of the game.......2006-11-04
This is a very good book for beginning bowlers. Detailed charts explain how to adjust the starting position to correct missed shots. There is also a very explanation of the importance of walking a straight line to maintain a correct angle. There are also helpful tips on timing, form, etc. and a chapter on understanding scoring and league terminology.
Great reading must for the starter.......2006-02-24
This is a great book for both the beginner bowler and a great review for the bowler wanting to increase score. A must read helps a bowler get rid of bad habit that many bowlers pick up over the course of a season of bowling.

Confetti Cakes.......2007-10-01
I really like this book. I bought it after checking one out at the library. The cakes are adorable. Great recipes and instructions. The cakes are not for a beginner. But you will get great ideas. These cakes are decorated with fondant.
Great book, Great recipes.......2007-09-24
I have really enjoyed this book. The instructions and recipes are easy to follow. I've been looking for a chocolate cake recipe that doesn't taste like devils food, and this one fit the bill. I have made one of her cakes with no problem. Maybe one day I will tackle the georgus purse on the cover!
Great Shape!.......2007-09-23
Thank you for doing as you said you would! Everything was right on time! Love my book!
Wonderful.......2007-09-12
I own many cake/cookie books of fine quality and this one is no exception. While the sugar cookie recipe had a paper correction tucked inside the front cover, using the correction the outcome was wonderful! My family gobbled them down within 24 hours (and it was a double batch) and has been begging for more. The decorating ideas are also wonderful, focusing on more small items like cupcakes and cookies.
Any tired of the 'same old' approach who seeks something different and eye-catching .......2007-08-09
When a famous shoe designer received a surprise birthday cake of a stiletto perched next to a tissue-filled shoe box, he was amazed at the talents of Elisa Strauss of Confetti Cakes in New York - and everyone wanted one of her creations. THE CONFETTI CAKES COOKBOOK would at first glance seem to appeal only to seasoned bakers, but in fact offers up eye-catching projects for every skill level, from novice to expert. Chapters pack in projects and decorations and not just full, large cakes but cookies, cupcakes, and smaller cake choices. Any tired of the 'same old' approach who seeks something different and eye-catching will find THE CONFETTI CAKES COOKBOOK attractive - as will public lending libraries catering to dessert cooks.

Beautiful cookies!.......2007-08-04
I've made several recipes from this book, and so far, everything has been delicious. The cookies look great, too. This book has inspired several ideas, and I've learned a few new decorating techniques. I wouldn't recommend this book to someone looking for some quick decorating ideas to do with the kids, because most of these cookies are pretty time consuming, and I imagine would be difficult for kids.
Creative Cookies.......2007-07-13
Gorgeous cookies. Not sure if they are the type I would make for day-by-day but surely great ideas for that special occasion. Toba explains very well the techniques used in the book. His ideas can also be used in the decoration of cakes and petitfours. For a cookie fanatic it is an inspiration.
Creative Cookies.......2007-05-12
Not quite what I was expecting, but all and all a good book.
Creative Cookies.......2007-04-05
Amazing book! Beautifully photographed, unique cookie designs inspires one to delve into the art of cookie creation. Excellent professional tips on how to be successful regardless of your skill level.
Not Your Grandmother's Cookie Book.......2007-01-19
This book is not for a beginner. Could have been written clearer with more explicit step by step directions. I wanted something a little more everyday with simple but quaint cookies that could be easily made by the busy novice with a job and children. The high end cookies in this book are more suited for decoration than they are for noshing on.
Book Description
The most difficult thing about making these cookies? Not gobbling them up all at once! Serve them with coffee, put a few in a child’s lunchbox as a surprise, hang them from a Christmas tree, or tuck them into a pretty box as a gift: with these recipes and simple decorating ideas, anyone can bake these tasty and beautiful treats. Many of the recipes are freezer-friendly, all have been tested to assure that they work perfectly every time, and there are even templates for creating cookies in every shape from butterflies to the ever-popular dinosaur. Enjoy decadent nibbles such as bitter chocolate cookies decorated with gold leaf; fun teddy bear cookies; a savory delicacy such as parmesan cookies dusted with cayenne pepper; and a healthy Banana Bran cookie.

I bought the book based on the cover. I thought I would also get new decorating ideas but I was wrong. The cookie recipes are just ok.

Great Book!.......2007-05-31
Gave me lots of new fun ideas to decorate my cookies. A very friendly book.
Thought it would be better!.......2006-06-28
I purchased this book along with another cookie book and was dissapointed. The cookies in the pictures did not look very appetizing and the decorating was very amateurish. I was hoping for something better.
Use your cookie cutters in new and unexpected ways!.......2006-03-15
This well illustrated book does a great job of showing you ways to use standard cookie cutter shapes and turn them into additional designs. I bought the Roshco Cookie Cutter set along with this book, without knowing that so many of the unique shapes used in the book are in the set and I have a whole new set of ideas now for future cookie decorations. The steps are very easy to follow and the extra tips on those "professional" finishes helped me take my cookies to a new level.
the cookies are wonderfull........2005-08-20
very nice book and the ideas are very nice and simple to do.
the explantion is very simple for every one.
thanks a lot.......2005-04-12

Book Description
Thanks to the careful guidance and boundless creativity of Aaron Morgan, an experienced and talented pastry chef, even the most intimidated cook can achieve spectacular results. Most of these 34 cookies use a simple sugar, shortbread, or gingerbread base, so they’re easy to make. Magnificent color photographs and easy-to-follow instructions will have you piping, dipping, and painting these delicacies in no time at all. For pure indulgence, imagine this: luscious chocolate crowns sitting upon a crunch cookie base, covered in a thin layer of mouthwatering white chocolate. Kids will keep on begging for more of the peanut butter and jelly cookie rolls. With so many wonderful treats to make, the cookie jar will never go empty again.
Customer Reviews:
Awesome Amazing, Aaron does it again.......2004-07-10
I purchased Mr. Morgan's last book (about Gingerbread Houses) and loved it, I couldn't wait to get my hands on his latest creation. As usual his creativity and talent shines through. I enjoy giving these types of books as gifts because my friends and I are not pastry chefs, we are merely mothers who want to make things that taste great, look great, and that can be recreated without the official title of 'pastry chef' after our names. Mr. Morgan's book does all of this. The colors, the pictures, the recipes, a treasure from cover to cover. Hope my friends don't read this, or they'll know what they're getting for Christmas! I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!
Disappointing.......2004-05-13
I was very much looking forward to receiving this book, but was generally disappointed with it. I agree with the reviewer who said the cover was the best part. Many of the cookie decorations were mundane and rather unprofessional looking. This book didn't offer anything innovative or new.
Professional "How-Tos" for Easy, Elegant Cookies.......2004-04-27
This delightful book shows, step-by-step, how to create elegant confections from basic cookie dough. "The Artful Cookie" explains in simple detail, how to prepare four basic dough recipes and four recipes for glaze, ganache and icings. In clear language, Pastry Chef, Aaron Morgan, outlines easy professional techniques, using ordinary ingredients and kitchen utensils to create delectable cookies you'd be proud to serve anywhere for any occasion.
The Artful Cookie is a great present for parents who want to have fun in the kitchen with their children, as well as "the older kid" in all of us. The how-to photos are easy to follow, encouraging use of imagination in creating your very own delectable designs, and the results are downright delicious!
Not very pretty or sophisticated........2004-03-29
I was expecting something more useful. Some of the cookies looked lumpy, and the decorating wasn't of the highest caliber.
The cover is the best part of the book.......2004-03-29
I admit that I am a person who buys cookbooks for the pictures - I love the artistic side of food more than the food itself. I was very disappointed with this book; the only picture that was really worthwhile was the one on the cover. There are a lot of pictures, but nothing too special. The book gives some great advice as to food temperatures for preparing dough, how much to mix it, etc., but the book is not something I would have bought had I found it in the store. I can see more creativity in the bakery at my local grocery store. I'm sure the author is a great chef but I wanted something MORE artful.
As for cookbooks I WOULD recommend, my all-time favorite is the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook - the best recipes are in that one. I also have a cute Star Wars cookbook - "Wookie Cookies and Other Galactic Recipes," or something like that - not that I like Star Wars but there are intersting/humorous pictures. "Cookies - the Little Guides," ISBN 1875137629 has tons of great pictures and recipes, and it's really inexpensive, although the shortbread recipe doesn't work. I also have a soft cover Pillbury miniature pamphlet/mini-mag called "Cookies & Bars" that is wonderful. Try those instead.
Customer Reviews:
Be aware --- this is the same book as .......2006-05-31
Wacky Cakes and Kooky Cookies is the same book - just a reprint. I had both books - as I thought they were different - and then after reading them - and then reading on line about the reprint - I sold for $7.00 this version. There are lots of versions on Amazon and Ebay for under $10. It is a fun book!
Great book for decorating ideas.......2002-10-22
I really have enjoyed this book. I love to make cakes, cookies, and desserts with themes. This book is filled with all sorts of great ideas, and each recipe comes with several pictures. This colorful book features beautiful gingerbread cats, happy sun cookies, and they make shortbread into eye catching flowers. They have many recipes featuring chocolate. Since this book is based out of Great Britian it features many recipes on sponge cakes. It also has a good amount of ideas for holidays. This book is a wonderful source of new ideas.

Decorating Cookies.......2007-10-07
The recipes were easy to follow. The pictures are great. The book gives a lot of different variety of decorated cookies.
Decorating Cookies.......2003-12-13
I love looking at the pictures in the book! Compared to other books on cookies, most of the cookies look wonderfull and very special. Besides that, the book contains a lot of ideas for wrapping the cookies up for a present.I haven't tried any recipes until now but I love 'reading' the book!
Unsatisfied.......2003-02-23
I was expecting more than the simple decorating ideas this book has offered but I found nothing new in the author's ideas. I am totally disappointed! This book is also overpriced! May be the pictures and the paper made up for the price but the content are not as inspirational as I expected. I gave it a 2 stars because I appreciate the author's confidence in publishing a mediocre decorating book.
Uninspirational........2003-02-17
The information contained in this book does not justify the price. With all due respect to the author, these cookie ideas are better suited in pamphlet form given at craft or cake decorating stores. I'm sure the author is qualified. However, with all the competition in the market, I'm afraid this book falls short.
I highly recommend Collette Peters Christmas book which contains breathtaking works of art in both the form of cakes and cookies that the average person can make. If your focus is cookies, Toba Garrett's "Creative Cookies" is the ultimate cookie treasure book!
Mediocre.......2002-11-16
After reading "Creative Cookies" by Toba Garrett, this book was nothing spectacular. I even paid more for this book. Sorry!
