Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Liberal screed.......2006-09-20
This book could have been a genuinely enjoyable escapist novel, but unfortunatlely, comrade Clee's obvious left-wing Democrat leanings color the whole thing. In her work, the biggest heroes in world history are JFK, RFK, and the poor misunderstood Russians. She even gives us an adoring encounter with a teenage Bill Clinton (God save us all!) In her world, war is ALWAYS wrong, and is nearly always caused be neanderthalistic conservatives. In fact, she hates the United States in its current form so much that her ultimate solution is to literally split it in two and give half to the Russians. All hale mother Russia, comrade Clee! Now why don't you move there?
Worlds Destroyed in a Phoenix Pyre.......2006-04-22
The best of alternative history changes one event and sees what will happen afterward. The best of alternative history teaches us about true history and possibilities. The best of alternative history forces us to grapple with the ethics of our decisions. This is the best of alternative history.
Branch Point describes a world destroyed by nuclear war, and the people who go back in time to save it and create an alternate world. Which gets destroyed by nuclear war. Which they attempt to save. I am in no way giving away the ending; this is merely the theme.
Clee has come up with an ingeneous device to explore alterate worlds through one coherent story. Written as if from a woman's diary, the sometimes colloquial or substandard English can be forgiven, as it is phrased as recollections of an individual. The characters are artfully expressed, and one truly comes to delight in the protagonist, Anna.
What would the world be like if more politicians than Bobby Kennedy had been assasinated? If John Kennedy had attacked Cuba? If the Yeltsin had been assasinated? These and other quesions are thorougly explored by Anna as she attempts to save the world. While the final scenario is replete with Rube-Goldbergesc effects, they remain believable, and provide a fascinating and engaging lesson in history.
The book is not merely an engrossing read, but more so, repeated ethical quandries. The reader will have to decide as they read whether they agree with the decisions of the protagonists or not, and if the reader would have done the same thing. Is it right that one man die to save millions? Is time travel even ethical? Read here to begin that journey.
Non-scientific speculative fiction at its best.......2001-09-24
Crafting a book to be both idealistic and pessimistic seems like a tall order but Branch Point wrangles with both extreme outlooks. The human race's inability to escape the lure of nuclear destruction pervades this book-in Clee's vision, once we were armed ourselves with these weapons, we were doomed to use them But the notes of hope and grace that her characters express give the book the feel of an idealistic manifesto. Quite a nice balancing act. The addition of historical personages does not distract from the overall picture as in so many books. The private personas of the Kennedy brothers are deftly handled and help flesh out the stresses of the Cuban missile crisis. Although this is clearly the realm of science fiction, there is no science in the book. Scientists create a time machine, full stop. If you want to know how time machines work, pick another book. If you want see what people determined to prevent the earth's destruction do with such an invention, then pick up Branch Point.
Provocative and Scary.......2001-09-16
In "Branch Point," two young heroines and a hero live in the year 2062, in a parallel universe. In their universe, President John F. Kennedy severely miscalculated during the Cuban Missile Crisis. There was a catastrophic nuclear war in this universe, and pretty much all surface life was killed off, except for some lichens. The only human survivors are left inside an underground complex, which is simply called The Bunker. Fortunately, this bunker contains some real scientific geniuses, and they are eventually able to create a time machine. They use this time machine to send the three young people back to 1962, where they talk some sense into JFK. This conversation causes a "branch point," which makes the home universe of the three young people forever inaccessible to them, but at least creates a universe where there was no nuclear war. This new universe, incidentally, looks exactly like ours -- until the next time they need the time machine. They use the time machine to prevent war several times, and the branch points they exploit involve Bobby Kennedy's assassination in 1968, and in Russia, Boris Yeltsin's election by acclaim in 1991. Then, in 2013, there's another crisis looming...
Mona Clee has written a book for us about the most important things. Most of us, when we hear the phrase "the most important things," automatically think of some homey image of raising a family in the suburbs, or possibly a religious belief you hold dear, or, if you're incredibly far-seeing, maybe a charitable organization for feeding impoverished children across the world. Mona Clee helps us to see that we're missing the big picture by thinking this way. The most important thing to worry about is nuclear war. None of the other things we imagine to be important will even exist if there's a nuclear war. In her book, the heros have a time machine to help prevent a nuclear war. Do you have a time machine? (If you do, please e-mail me). If you don't, you need to think about the message Mona Clee is presenting here. Human nature is not going to change. Therefore, nuclear war is almost certainly inevitable. If it ever happens, then we all need to start thinking about the basics. Think about growing your own food indoors, think about shelter. And if you have free time, you might want to spend some of it looking at oncology sites on the internet, just to be safe... Just to drive home the reality of what Mona Clee is talking about -- if you can find a copy, look for a video called "Threads," which was a BBC made-for-television movie about nuclear war, made in 1985 by Barry Hines. It's so graphic, it makes "The Day After" look like "The Sound of Music" by comparison.
Mona Clee's book is both terrifying and entertaining. Sometimes the characters can be a little flighty, and unattractively immature, but I don't think that's very significant. Her main goal is clearly to get her readers thinking about nuclear war. Well, as you can see from this review, her book worked on me. Two thumbs up.
A romp.......1999-04-07
Ever have the fantasy of going back in time and fixing something from history? My own favorite is trying to prevent the Civil War. Branch Point takes that idea and gives it a twist -- the heroes prevent the nuclear war that (in their alternate future) came from the Cuban Missile Crisis, but then had to keep doing it again and again as the world insisted repeatedly on obliterating itself.
This book, like Overshoot, is probably of more interest to Boomers than younger folks, as much of its appeal comes from the heroes living through the '60s, early and late. I mean, what person now in his or her '40s did not, as a child, want to meet and talk with Jack Kennedy? The treatment of Kennedy, incidentally, is in considerable depth, depicting a realistic outgrowth of his less delightful characteristics as well as the Camelot image. The characters of Jeffrey and of the narrator's Russian lover also come clear and deep.
One of the twists to the story is when the last jump is made, and the last preventive fix is in place, and the book ends -- and you realize where YOU are living, compared to where the heroine now is. Less serious than Overshoot, Branch Point moves faster and is more of a lark.
Book Description
This book explores how the lower federal court appointment process became vastly politicized in the modern era. Scherer develops a theory of “elite mobilization,” positing that lower court appointments have always been used by politicians for electoral purposes, but because of two historic changes to American institutions in the 1950s and 1960s—the breakdown of the old party system, and a federal judiciary reception to expanding individuals’ constitutional rights—politicians shifted from an appointment system dominated by patronage to a system dominated by new policy-oriented appointment strategies.
The use of these new strategies not only resulted in partisan warfare during the nomination and confirmation stages of the appointment process, but also led to party-polarized voting in the lower federal courts. Employing exclusive data of judicial decision-making from the New Deal era through the present, Scherer demonstrates that there was little party-polarized voting in the lower federal courts until the late 1960s, and that once politicians began to use elite mobilization strategies, significant party-polarized voting in the lower federal courts resulted. Accordingly, elite mobilization strategies have affected not only politics in Washington, but also the way justice is distributed across the country.

A Valuable Study of Lower Court Confirmations.......2007-03-16
This book is an outstanding study by a political scientist of one explanation as to why federal judicial nominations to the Courts of Appeal and district courts have become recently so confrontational and protracted. The author is an Assistant Professor at Ohio State University, as well as having had a career as a litigator. The author's key argument as to why things have gotten a bit out of hand is what she terms the "theory of elite mobilization." That is, party activists and interest group leaders use these battles as a way to energize the grass root members of their respective organizations; it is those folks who turn out the vote, contribute the money, and serve as the backbone of the organizations.
Hence, we now end up with ideological litmus tests, obstructionist tactics in the Senate, and the use of judicial nominations as a campaign issue. The author first places all this in historical perspective by looking at the way nominations used to be handled. The courts gained visibility as a result of the Warren Court, the Brown decision, affirmative action implementation, and the greater role played by women in American society as a result of key decisions. So, judicial slots became too valuable to use as rewards for patronage politics--they became keys to "scoring points" with party and interest group elites. Just think of how often we hear about abortion in connection with judicial appointments. The author finds that patronage judges did not really differ that much in ideological orientation, while the present system generates such conflicts. According to the author, this new view of judicial appointments come to reality during the Reagan administration and has continued on the party of both parties ever since.
One of the most valuable chapters focuses on how groups decide to challenge or not challenge particular nominations. The author undertook extensive interviewing with group leaders to explore this facet. Next she offers a fascinating discussion of Senate obstruction tactics and how well they work, including the role of "blue slips." The book then addresses how judicial nominations have been used in both federal and state election campaigns. One chapter is devoted convincingly to knocking down a potential alternative theory that this increasingly bizarre procedure is the result simply of divided government.
The author's research is impressive. For the statistically-challenged, rest assured that most of that methodological material is relegated to several appendices. The text itself flows alone nicely since the author explains her findings much more than how she statistically determined them. A great bibliography and extensive notes are included, but the length is only around 250 pages. One of the more perceptive and useful books on this topic and well worth a read.
Product Description
This is a AIR FORCE INST OF TECH WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB OH SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT report procured by the Pentagon and made available for public release. It has been reproduced in the best form available to the Pentagon. It is not spiral-bound, but rather assembled with Velobinding in a soft, white linen cover. The Storming Media report number is A228104. The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: Branch point tolerant phase reconstructors can vastly improve adaptive optic system performance in extended atmospheric turbulence. This thesis explores the performance bounds of two such reconstructors Goldstein's algorithm and hidden phase. A least squares reconstructor is implemented for comparison. System performance is presented for various scenarios, including correction time-delays, wave-front sensor noise, and extended beacons. These scenarios are of interest for laser communication and directed energy systems such as Airborne Laser. Performance bounds are obtained through wave-optics simulation. The extended beacon propagation geometry approximates the USAF AFRL- DE North Oscura Peak range. Results show that branch point tolerant reconstructors outperform least squares for equal correction time-delays. These reconstructors can be made somewhat tolerant to wave-front sensor error. For the case of an incoherent extended beacon, branch point information is lost and the branch point algorithms perform on par with least squares. A coherent extended beacon preserves branch point information, but also induces branch point errors due to coherent speckle. Still, the branch point reconstructors tend to maintain a 1-2 order of magnitude performance advantage over least squares in strong turbulence. While implementation challenges remain, this thesis demonstrates the potential of branch point tolerant phase reconstructors on laser communication and weapons systems.

Customer Reviews:
One of the most beautiful cookbooks on bread baking..........2006-12-01
One of the most striking things about this book is it's well laid out design. Every recipe is easy to read and prepare. I wish more cookbooks would adapt a similar layout...
Yes, the liquid to water ratios are not always right, but with the variety of different bread machines out there, it is almost impossible to put in a recipe. This is also due to the fact that different flours absorb different amounts of water due to their variations in milling, age and variety. Be prepared to always finetune the dough consistency in your machine by adding small amounts of water.
This book is perfectly suited as an introduction into the art of baking bread and as a creative idea generator for new and unusual loafs. After kneading in the machine I have sometimes baked the breads in my home oven with even better results!
The Complete Guide to Bread Machine Baking.......2005-09-26
I love this book. The recipes given are for both 1 1/2 & 2 pound capacity, which gives the user a choice. The book is easy to read and offers special instructions for the more elaborate recipes. Most of the recipes use ingredients that most homes have on hand on a daily/weekly basis... there are not a lot of unique ingredients that you need to make a special trip to the grocery store for. I have not experienced one bad recipe and I've made nearly all of them. I usually bake at least two loaves; bringing one in to work to share... it disappears within a half hour.
Thank you for this book!
Don't buy it!!.......2005-02-09
None of the recipes turned out from this cookbook and I have a great machine. They were all small loaves and some of them tasted nasty.
Wonderful, simple overview, ok recipies.......2004-07-22
I've made a small variety of different kinds of bread using the enclosed instructions that came with my bread machine. I've also noticed some inconsistancy from loaf to loaf. I've made a lot of very dense small loafs that tasted great but where pretty small and heavy. Now this is not inconsistancy from the machine but in the ingredience and the differences with the recipies and things you're supposed to conscious of when everything goes together.
This book provides a great overview on machine bread making with photos and explanations as to the how and why's of dough consistancy, what happens if your bread does or does not do certain things and how to adjust the ingredience. This has greatly helped me understand what I was doing and how to bring some consistancy into my bread making.
The recipies are ok. I actually only stick to making one kind of bread day in and day out. Although I have ventured off and tried some more of the interesting variety with good results. Mostly I've used this to help me understand the basics which I've applied to other recipies.
Best book I've found.......2004-04-25
This book is by far my favorite book. I especially enjoy all the shaped breads and dough recipes which are finished outside the bread machine. You can do more than bake a standard loaf with this book.
