Book Description

Someone did not like Shari Cooper writing her stories.

Shari Cooper had died once, and then returned to Earth as a Wanderer -- a soul who had been given permission to take the place of another soul in a mature body. Shari has regained her memory of her previous life. More than that she has realized her purpose in returning to mortal life -- to write stories for young people to help them understand the immortal life that is to follow. Her talent is inspired, her destiny great, and it is not long before Shari and her books are known all over the world.

Then one special night a story of incomparable beauty and mystery comes to her. An ancient tale that speaks of the origin of mankind and the purpose of human life. Quickly, almost in a fever, Shari begins to write it down, sure that it is nothing more than a wonderful fable. But what Shari doesn't know is that her new book is true -- a mystical blueprint that warns of a great danger to humanity from creatures who despise all human beings, but who have a unique and terrifying hatred for Wanderers. Creatures who will go to any length to stop Shari's story from being published.

Creatures who wait unseen outside Shari's door.

3 out of 5 stars Remember Me ????.......2005-04-19

I have read all the books in this series as well as most of chris pike's work . In any or all of his writing format he ends on sad notes. Very few of his main character live til' the end. In all the books. I have read about two have ended on happy endings. But few have after effects that effects the total out come of all for the main character and the supporting cast. But if you read carefully you can catch tib bits of other books with the remember me series. I fell in love with Peter and Sheri. Their relationship was never ment to happen. But fate happened to kick in and put them in the right place at the right time. After I read this book i found out what took sheri's life, It was brain tumor by reasonable elementation. It was something that would have taken her life quicker if she had know but her life was to bussy to see a doctor. I thaink that if she had went when she started realizing something was wrong that the book would have been a lot better.

4 out of 5 stars I want a continuation!.......2004-12-28

I re-read the whole trilogy a few days ago. I cannot get over the fact that Shari had to die again so soon! I wish Pike would write another story of Shari and Peter one more time. I want them to get together soon, as physical or non-physical beings.

3 out of 5 stars It was a good book, I guess.......2004-11-30

I am a big fan of Christopher Pike, afterall I have read a lot of his books (enough to predict almost everything that is going to happen), but I have to say this was not one of his better books. I have to say though the climax of this book was great! It was so suspeseful and sad at the same time. Haven't seen such a great climax from Christopher Pike since Final Friends: The Graduation. This book was overall good except for the fact that Peter can finally walk and Shari dies! The other thing I found extremely boring was the "Starlight Crystal." Like said before I almost just skipped this part. I mean this didn't have any point at all in this book. Pike did a great Job with the characters in this series though! I guess you could say not his best work, but a good book to read.

5 out of 5 stars So sad.......2004-10-25

I cried when Shari died (again!) but at least she saw her mother one last time before she did. Also, she got to do what she was sent back to do. But it kinda sucked that she was in a body that probably wouldn't have lasted long. Everyone should read the Remember Me series.

3 out of 5 stars My opinion of the trilogy.......2003-09-02

I obviously liked the first book better because you are just getting to know the characters and the whole mystery thing was very interesting and full of suspense. But the 2nd one was a little boring I must say, nothing interesting did happen and the 3rd one is a little better.
I was disappointed about the ending where Shari dies but if you have read the book carefully, there were clues that she was meant to die. How she often have headaches and the yogi said for her not to worry about it and her purpose of returning back to Earth was to write stories. I believe that Pike made Shari died in the end is because that she did what she couldn't do when she was alive. How she wanted to do something meaningful in life and now she did and it was time for her to go and move on. And she is separated from Jimmy and Peter again but only this time, they know that they will see her again and like what Shari said, death doesn't exist. She is very much alive, at least in the memories of those who once knew her.

4 out of 5 stars The Magic of Remember the Magic is ExtremelyTame!.......2004-07-30

The story is everything fluffy, warm, fuzzy and unexciting. If you are a devoted fan of Donna Fletcher, you'll probably love this book. Those of us who have never read her works and was anticipating dramatic escapades, it was surprisingly bland and continually flat. I noted the storyline was heavy into messages against prejudice and preaching how one should look at life. I didn't find the messages overwhelming to the point of reader overload; the book just wasn't what I was expecting from reading the back cover. To give Remember the Magic its due, it did keep my interest. It was a pleasant tale and I enjoyed it, but I doubt I will look for more books by this author as I like my books with a more rousing storyline.

It appears Remember The Magic is a somewhat sequel to Wedding Spell. Just because Remember The Magic wasn't for me, it doesn't mean it wasn't a good book and should pass up.

5 out of 5 stars Freat romantic fantasy.......2004-01-08

Five centuries ago the witch Sydney Wyrdd and Scottish clan chief Duncan fell in love, but both know the helplessness of a relationship as he must care for his people above his own needs. She flees into the future for his sake. Sydney helps Tempest the Ancient One regain her lost love. Feeling more than just gratitude, Tempest wants the same for Sydney. Tempest returns Sydney back in time to her beloved.

However, though heartbroken and haunted by Sydney, who vanished thirteen years ago Duncan is expected to marry Eileen of clan Carron. That is until Duncan and Sydney see one another as his future bride arrives at his keep. They realize that they still love one another, but the problems that caused her to leave still remain and are compounded by the alliance the honorable Duncan has made through his upcoming marriage with clan Carron.

REMEMBER THE MAGIC is an entertaining romantic fantasy that stars Sydney, a secondary player in previous tales, one who Donna Fletcher's fans have waited for to get her own chance at love. The interesting story line hooks the audience as it seems impossible for the star-crossed duo to find happiness. The support cast, especially the magical beings (like Beatrice and Tempest) and Duncan's sister Gwen, augment the plot. Though Eileen pales compared to Sydney and Gwen, fans will appreciate Ms. Fletcher's magical charm.

5 out of 5 stars Pure Magical Enchantment.......2004-01-07

There are times when you can pick up a book and find yourself totally enchanted by the first couple of pages you read, but then it loses something. Let me say this then, that will not happen here as you continue find to your great delight that the enchantment doesn't end and this one will keep you glued throughout the book. With this wonderful story you will find yourself caught up and thoroughly enchanted not only by the magical prose of this author but the very essence of a love that defies time.

Sydney Wyrrd is a seven hundred old witch (who looks to be about 30 something). She fled the Scottish Highlands five hundred years ago, leaving behind her beloved Duncan whom she believed would be in danger if she stayed. Now two of her very good friends, powerful witches themselves, have offered her a chance to travel back through time to see if Duncan's love for her was everlasting. Though since leaving, she has lived five hundred years, she is returned to the Highlands to a time, thirteen years after she'd left.

Duncan, has come to the woods, every day for thirteen years, still dreaming of and remembering Sydney. He sees her, as he's seen her every day for the past thirteen years, yet does not believe she is real --- that she is only a vision, a remembrance of a love he cannot forget. As they both struggle to overcome the anger and distrust of what he felt was her betrayal of his love for her, the same warlock who engineered the deceptions that hastened her earlier departure would feel compelled to try to destroy them again.

All I can add to this is that I have never enjoyed a fantasy tale so much as I have this one. The sensual love scenes were amazing, the love story itself so very moving, and the secondary characters fascinating. Beatrice, Sydney's sidekick fairy, whose wings were off kilter and head wreath that would not stay in place was a total delight who always brought a smile to my face and the rest of the characters, I am sure had their own stories and I am on a quest to locate them. This is a book to cherish - pure magical enchantment and one that should not be missed.

3 out of 5 stars With a little Hollywood magic..........2004-01-07

Five hundred years ago, Sydney Wyrrd made the most difficult choice of her life, leaving her beloved Duncan in the ancient Highlands while she zoomed forward to the future. With him being mortal and her an immortal witch, she feared their love doomed. Now, she has returned. For Duncan, only thirteen years have passed, and while he has not been strictly faithful, he has never truly loved another. Both lovers want another chance, but there are difficulties. Sydney is still a witch, and it's the burning times for witches. Too, she has come to have a fondness for modern conveniences that Duncan's world does not even know of yet. Finally, Duncan's sister has far different matrimonial plans for their clan.

*** With a lot of love, understanding, and some help from Hollywood magic of the future, Sydney and Duncan might just have a chance at happiness. Donna Fletcher's characteristically warm humor and familiar characters from past books will make this a sweet read for her legions of fans. ***

SHE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THAT SHE WAS DEAD.

When Shari Cooper awoke at home after being at her girlfriend's birthday party, her family acted like she wasn't there. They didn't hear a thing she said. They wouldn't even look at her. Then the call came from the hospital. Her father and brother paled. Her mother started to cry. Shari didn't know what was wrong. Not until she followed them to the hospital. There she found herself lying on a cold slab in the morgue. The police said that it was suicide.

Shari knew she had been murdered. Making a vow to herself to find her killer, Shari embarks on the strangest of all criminal investigations: one in which she spies on her friends, and even enters their dreams -- where she comes face-to-face with a nightmare from beyond the grave. The Shadow -- a thing more horrible than death itself -- is the key to Shari's death, and the only thing that can stop her murderer from murdering again.

5 out of 5 stars A book you read over and over and over again.......2007-08-27

I've read this book at least 4 times already...and I'm not sick of it at all. I first read it when I was about 14 and now I'm 19 and the book STILL interests me. The character development was good but not GREAT; there were some people who he could've expanded more on, but overall an excellent novel for not only teens, but adults as well.

    5 out of 5 stars A Must!.......2007-08-24

I read many Christopher Pike books when i was a kid and loved them all. Remember me is one that has stayed in my head forever. I'm finally getting it for my oldest. I know she's going to love it as well!

5 out of 5 stars BEST Christopher Pike book written.......2007-05-03

Shari Cooper is dead. She's a ghost who's trying to figure out who killed her and why. It's a murder mystery, filled with a handful of great characters. No one can see her, but she does have help.

I've been a Christopher Pike fan since I was ~11 yrs. old, and now being 26, I would read it again. Actually, I had lost the book several years back, so I bought it off an online auction recently. I had read this book about 5 times literally. From cover to cover, the story is PERFECTION. I could not put the book down. It keeps you from the edge of your seat, and the characters are so well put together and are unique in their own way. The story is entertaining, yet at the same time, meaningful... profound. You can tell Pike put good work and thought to the character's personalities as well as how they interrelate with each other. Shari Cooper, the main character who is a ghost - has a likeable personality. I liked her as I read along. Other than it being suspenseful, it goes beyond our realm and ties in with science fiction, black holes, space, teleportation... wow-- AND I guarantee it is NOT AT ALL CORNY whatsoever. The book is also rather deep as Pike entails love, sacrifice, mystery, twists, and spirituality. I remember there are a few funny moments and it will make you laugh out loud. I love this book so much!! I swear they can make a movie out of it, and would do very well! Remember me part II and III are not as great - as sequels are sometimes. I thought Remember Me III was just mm.. OK. This is a suspenseful, fun, meaningful, happy, sad, intriguing, deep, funny book. You get everything wrapped into one. You will not be disappointed. From loving it since I was 11, and writing a review about it 15 yrs later really made a lasting impression on me. Go read it, you'll like it.

    5 out of 5 stars I couldn't stop reading.......2007-03-19

I read this book fifteen years ago when I was 13 years old. I couldn't stop reading it. I loved it so much that I read it too many times to remember. "Remember Me" was the first Christopher Pike book that I read, and I immediately became hooked on his work. I ended up reading most of his books, and this is the best one.

5 out of 5 stars A great way to get introduced to Christopher Pike.......2007-02-22

I read this book about 17 years ago when I was 12, and it was my first Christopher Pike book. After that, I was hooked. For the next six years, I read every book of his I could get my hands on, many two or three times. Pike has such a sophisticated style unmatched by other young adult authors, such as R.L. Stine. Pike knows what teens want to read about: mystery, murder, romance and sex. His books all have that, along with great and innovative story lines. I think I will dig through my parent's basement for my collection and read them over! I am sure I would still enjoy them.

            2 out of 5 stars Mixed.......2007-08-25

An interesting subject matter, but the book is incredibly poorly written and organized given that it was written by a PR professional. It really jumps all over the place with often no background or addressing topics that it is assumed the reader understands even though they are only mentioned much later in the book. Also strange how the author writes himself into the story in the third person. This could have been a much, much better book but it seems the author wrote it more to please the "hero" than to objectively tell a story.

There is no way this author was an employee of Horizon Air. This book overglorifies a group of managers that failed to uphold a dream of the airline's founder, Milt Kuolt. It is made out to be like an "ole' boys' club" atmosphere while, in truth, there was much turmoil. Former Vice-president turned CEO, George Bagley, tossing a cup of hot coffee in a Maintenance V.P.'s face??? not addressed. Mr. Bagley's written assault on his pilot group during contract negotiations calling them "juvenille deliquents in uniform..." and "cowards" (also not addressed). This book gives a good factual chronology of events in the airline's history but doesn't address the morale problems.

              Book Description

After "Heaven and Hell," "Divine Love and Wisdom" and "Divine Providence" are arguably Swedenborg's two most popular works.

In "Divine Love and Wisdom," Swedenborg reaches out to the secular mind with a vision of order and beauty pregnant with meaning and direction and appeals to human experience and reflection (rather than scriptural interpretation) in making the case for the presence of God's love and God's wisdom. It is not just that there is a purpose underlying creation; it is that we share in that purpose and are essential to its fulfillment. From God's infinite love and wisdom to our own individual desires and perceptions, there is an underlying unity on which we can rely.

This work is essential reading for anyone seeking clear, sensible answers about the nature of God, and the relationship between the heavens and the earth (or the spiritual world and the natural world). I read this in college many years ago, and return to it frequently. It just makes so much sense.

5 out of 5 stars Good text and good leisure.......2003-07-11

The first time I read this boook was in a college course. It was a good text for a class, being straightforward but also sparking many entertaining and intricate discussions. Now that I am done the class, Divine Love and Wisdom is a wonderful book to pick up and read whenever. It desribes the Sun of heaven and the relationship between this world and the next. For solid and simple to understand ideas about God and His nature and the effects the spiritual world has on the natural and vice versa, this is a versatile and thought-porvoking book that I highly recommend!

              5 out of 5 stars Everyday spirituality.......2003-07-02

These books are a wonderful guide to how this life relates to the next and how God directs all life. They answer questions about why bad things happen, the purpose of life, and order in the universe, in a philosophical way that is practical and easy to understand. If you are looking for something deeper than scientific answers, I highly recommend Divine Love and Wisdom and Divine Providence!

                Book Description

Eyes of Sophia is a true love story which confirms the multi-dimensional nature of our existence. This story shows us that we really do co-create our lives in concert with a loving and organizing Divine Presence, Sophia, which speaks to us through our hearts. Too often we are easily intimidated by the authority and advice of the outer world and cease to trust these tender feelings which offer us continual and perfect guidance.

The magical tapestry of events we experience when reading Eyes of Sophia is given credence by a series of extraordinary photographs and we are blessed with the revelation that, indeed, we can attain our hearts' desires.

"This book is an extraordinary account by two extraordinary people. Given the premise that Sophia's world lies hidden and invisible within this one the continual synchronicities abounding in this true story make sense, if not serving as proof of its existence. Though the account is extremely personal it touches the universal and thus becomes meaningful to anyone reading it. It's Donna's loving and enthusiastic eye that reveals it and Alan's charming and rational acceptance that gives it form. I marvel that I had the privilege of playing a small part in this unusual drama!"
                -Alice O. Howell
Author of The Web in the Sea and The Dove in the Stone

"You and Donna have experienced, certainly at a feeling state, at least one other cognitive band of this total reality and you appear to have some space-time cognitive data in the form of your pictures to confirm that something extra-ordinary was happening."
                -William A. Tiller, PhD
Author of Science and Human Transformation
(written after viewing the photographs, September, 1995)

"This is a truly spiritual book, in which the presence of divine love allows the experience of human love to flourish. It can be read as a romantic story like Bridges of Madison County, but here the romance is allowed to flourish and lead to a sustained relationship, and there is an experience of divine grace as well as human passion."

5 out of 5 stars Learn How to Live a Dream-Come-True.......2000-11-08

This book is a deliciously suspenseful true love story that describes how Donna May met the man of her dreams, Alan Chien. While we know from the start where this love story will end, we don't know how two people from such different walks of life who don't know one another can recognize each other after their first chance meeting.

Told alternately from Donna's and Alan's point of view, this story demonstrates the way synchronicity operates in real life. Donna enters the story as an experienced healer, energy worker, and dream interpreter who is learning to better understand how to communicate with spirit. Alan just begins to discover these things as he witnesses first-hand the way Donna's waking dreams have real-life significance, and begins to find meaning in coincidental happenings in his life as well. Both Donna and Alan discover a deeper sense of love and connection between each other and all that is, as they learn to trust their hearts and spirits to guide their lives.

When I meet couples for the first time, I almost always ask them, "How did you two get together?", because I love to glimpse the way the spirit behind physical things pulls us closer to those we need at just the right time in our life. "Eyes of Sophia" shares these gifts of spirit with us as it opens and reveals a world of interpreting dream symbols, physical pain in our bodies, coincidences and synchronicities. This book shows how even the occasional disappointments and set-backs along the way have meaning, and are part of the grand design of life. I love the way this book effectively demonstrates how the more closely we observe the details (names, articles, dates, songs), the more meaningful our own life story can become. Donna May and Alan Chien's autobiographical tale is exactly the kind of sign-post people need to find the spiritual meaning behind coincidences in their lives, and learn how to live a dream-come-true.

5 out of 5 stars Follow Your Heart.......2000-10-20

Spirituality is something of which I have always been skeptical. Because I don't know much about it, apart from organized religion as it pertains to Christianity, I approached this book with a certain amount of dubiousness. I was determined to view it in an entirely objective manner. I am still unsure about the subject matter to an extent, but one thing is certain. It is not possible to read "Eyes of Sophia" without being pulled right in to the heart of the story.

This is the true, non-fiction tale of Alan, a retired art teacher, and Donna, a massage therapist and healer. Unknown to each other, and unbeknownst to each other, they both asked for direction and opened themselves up to spiritual guidance at critical times in their lives.

Donna's utilitarian question and subsequent dream led her on a quest. During this search she met Alan - a chance meeting which would turn out to be not coincidental at all. For it was revealed to Donna that Alan was the crux of her search - he was, metaphorically, the Tin Man, and it was Donna's altruistic purpose to help him find his heart. This in turn resulted in photographs of Donna in which confirming images were manifest. Among them, the eyes of Sophia. Donna's dream had come to fruition.

The ideology in this book comes from many different areas of spiritualism and religion. For me, this was a colossal learning experience.

What struck me most throughout the story were the synchronicities; not mere coincidences, but parallels between Donna's discoveries and Alan's life. There were so many of these on myriad levels, simultaneously chaotic and structured. It was incredible to learn that different events and occurrences are actually connected, and consolidate to form a big picture. Just when you think the various threads are too many and too unrelated, they are all pulled together and make perfect sense. The closed mind could never see these, but when pointed out they are obvious. It has inspired me to become more alert for synchronicity in my own life: there is much I may already have missed by not being aware. If Donna had not been so vigilant and acted directly on her true feelings, she may never have found Alan, and then he may never have found his heart. Two people would then have missed a chance at becoming their "authentic selves".

"Eyes of Sophia" is stimulating, intriguing, and at times pleasantly puzzling. Although a spiritual book, it offers benefit for all. This journey of two people is shared philanthropically to encourage, to inspire, and to affirm that it is indeed possible to find your heart.

5 out of 5 stars Eyes of Sophia: A Dream Come True.......2000-10-16

In this book, Donna May and Alan Chien have shared the very interesting, unusual means by which they found each other, and what they learned from signposts along the way. In the process, the reader is presented with evidence of universal principles at work beyond our own intellect, that give form to the nature of unfolding events that we experience throughout our lives.

Relationships are among the most important alchemical caldrons of the soul, where we come to understand universal truths about ourselves, and realize the integration between the intellectual aspect of self and the spiritual nature of self. These truths, preserved also throughout centuries of mythological stories, go beyond personal opinion and religious or cultural dogma; they reveal to us directly and individually the true spirituality behind all life. Among many universal principles involved, philosophers have also provided written explanations. Jacob Boehme wrote long ago of his concept of counterpoise between good and evil, and Benedict Spinoza of his view of the organic interdependence in the necessity for all life. The choices that we make are choices that ideally are considered the "best for all concerned." However, "right" in one's judgment may be considered "wrong" to another, but as life unfolds, we see that what manifests is not necessarily what we would call "good or bad", and may be simply "necessary" for all concerned, all known and unknown matters considered.

Eyes of Sophia is about the Light of knowledge expressing through material conditions, providing important signposts uniquely meaningful to us, that help us to use wisdom in making appropriate choices affecting not only ourselves, but others, too. In following the way of the heart - Donna sees her significant dreaming experiences transcended as they are mirrored as synchronicities in reality. Also, "Tin Man" sings, "cause never was the reason;" of this, Alan realizes, "We seem to want to manipulate the lines of intention building our lives, but we can only follow their lead and choose within whatever is presented." In our dance of counterpoise with life's experiences, two intertwining threads make and remake our destiny: life's "Hermetic" reason for what we experience on Earth, and the choices we make while personally applying our own "reason" into the mix.

This would be an excellent "primer" for those who want to read metaphysics in action that goes beyond philosophical and theoretical treatises, into manifested reality. Eyes of Sophia is an easy to read documentation of Donna's and Alan's real life blueprint from a dream, to Love's union.

5 out of 5 stars Instructional and Inspirational!.......2000-10-09

This was very entertaining to read and it was different to read a story like this that is a true one. But it was so much more than that. I learned so much about how to get out of my own way in order to let my best come to me. It was easy to see when I was reading it and thought of myself and others I see that we block our own happiness and good things coming to us because we are afraid to act on the very feelings that will allow it to come to us. This is a little hard to explain but when you read it its easy to understand.

I will never ever again not do what is in my heart of hearts even if it is in against what somebody else thinks or what I grew up learning was the way to do it. I want what the magic they found and they make me understand how to go about it. By the time I got to the last chapter I had changed my whole thinking around about alot of things. Then I got to the last chapter and the pictures and wasn't just thinking different but knew that this is story is more than just written by people but is a story that also comes from somewhere far beyond here and from something much bigger than people.

Alan Chein says in the beginning that it was a gift to them that they are sharing. It was a gift to me and I'm going to read it again.

                5 out of 5 stars An Awakening.......2000-09-21

Coincidence has now become a dusty old relic in my dictionary of terms. Have always wished for 'just the right' term for what I knew was more than mere coincidence and after reading this book I now have it. Synchronicities, our lives are so filled with them and few of us heed them as did Donna May.

Eyes of Sophia enabled me to see with much greater understanding, 'the other side of the coin' in terms of relationships and what sometimes may be painful is part of a much greater plan over which we really have no control.

The photos were spectacular and the romance even more so. Having just read once again, 'The Mists of Avalon', it seemed quite COINCIDENTAL that the story also focused on 'The Tin Man' containing the words Sir Galahad!

Hopefully we will hear more from these two romantics and believers in Synchronocities.

I loved this book because of the depth it gave my Bible study. It goes in-depth into the language of the Bible, with the meaning of the word choice. It also talks about the nature of the Lord, helping me know He understands what sorts of things I struggle with and how He can guide me. In looking for a fuller way of life and faith, this book is full of ideas for improving the quality and depth of my life and faith. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants an easy yet deep reading about the Lord and life!

I don't think I can say enough about this book! It is actually four smaller works bound together, each one adding amazing depth to reading the Bible and knowledge of God and life in general. The Biblical support that is all through them is fabulously arranged, with clear connections and ideas. This edition of the book is small and very portable, allowing me to take it basically anywhere. It has improved my Bible studying and the quality of my life--because now I know more about how to bring God's love into my life and share it with others. If you are looking for a more intense Bible study, or ideas on how to truly live, this is the book to read!

4 out of 5 stars Considering Four Doctrines.......2000-12-10

This book contains four short introductory works by the profound Swedish writer and thinker Emanuel Swedenborg, who lived and wrote in the 1700s. His works as a whole offer thoughtful Christians a richness of insight and spiritual development comparable to the greatest religious texts of Eastern religions, like the Bhagavad Gita, the Yogasutras, the Dhammapada. These short works on faith, spiritual life, sacred scripture and the Lord show the reader some of what Swedenborg's longer works offer - a thorough renewal and revaluation of Christianity, focusing on revelation, doctrine and charity. As with all spiritual texts, these give the reader back many times the value he or she puts into working with them.

The great Zen master D.T. Suzuki once said: "For you Westerners, it is Swedenborg who is your Buddhe. It is he who should be read and followed!" Suzuki translated four of Swedenborg's books (including "Divine Love and Wisdom") into Japanese, but if you want an English version, this is without doubt the finest available translation of Swedenborg's metaphysical masterpiece. Before beginning his English rendering, Mr. Rogers prepared a critical edition of the Latin text - an imperative task if the translation is to be completely faithful to the original, but a task that has been and continues to be ignored by the Swedenborg Foundation, the major publisher of Swedenborg's theological writings, which is now focusing more on pretty covers than on reliable translations. If you are new to Swedenborg, and you want to start with one of his most profound and important works, read "Divine Love and Wisdom" in this wonderful new translation. It will certainly give you an incentive to read Mr. Rogers' translation of Swedenborg's "Marriage Love," and his forthcoming translation of "Divine Providence."

5 out of 5 stars The Divine Plan for the Universe.......1999-12-07

This work, from the Divinely inspired pen of Emanuel Swedenborg, lays out the spiritual and natural foundations of the created universe. The book details how our Creator brought humans into existence from his Divine Love for us and how he governs that creation. It answers philosphical and practical questions about the works of God. This new translation, by the Rev. N.B. Rogers, allows the Divine message to come through clearly in modern English. Learn how the spiritual and natural worlds co-exist and corespond.
