Book Description

Tokyo Mew Mew stars the eccentric teen, Ichigo (Means Strawberry in Japanese) Momomiya and how she was apart of an accident that allowed her DNA to be mixed with that of an endangered Wild Cat from Japan.

She is then forced to become Mew Mew, and fight against an alien invasion taking over animals and turning them into vicious beats to defeat the human race. As well as finding the other 4 girls that were in the accident with her.

The two she gathers for her team are the Lorikeet, Mint who doesn't fancy Ichigo's personality and fights with her, and the second is Lettuce, the Porpoise, who is a timid girl who only wants to make friends and is bullied a lot.
The two other girls aren't shown coming into the Mew Mew crew just yet and will be next volume.

The art is cute and I really don't think the story is `uber cute' like Cardcaptor Sakura but it is a nice Manga series so far. If you want something girly, I think picking up this one would be a goer.

One of the best manga!.......2007-02-25

I am new to manga and this is my first one. It's great! The cover and the title look like the series is for babies but in reality it's for people 11 and up*.

Plot: One day 11-year-old Ichigo, the main character, is at the museum with her crush when her DNA is merged with an extinct cat's. Four other girls are, too, and now Ichigo needs to find them. A gigantic rat attacks her and her crush a day later and her crush passes out. She falls from a tree and into the arms of another boy who tells her she needs to attack it back and that she has special powers. I'll stop telling the rest so you won't know the ending! ;)

Overall: Mia Ikumi and Reiko Yoshida have created a masterpiece. Just the right amount of cuteness, the right amount of action, and it all balances out to a wonderful book. 10 stars, two thumbs up!!

*Parents take note: When she is merged with the cat they drew her without clothes on. You don't see anything racy or bad, but just wanted to mention this. Also, the character calls a male character a [..] for showing her the mew mew mark, which is very close to her underwear and underneath her skirt.

Saccharine pushed beyond reason.......2006-12-23

If you like magic girl books which are entirely predictable this is the book for you. Girls gets magic powers, girls find something to get stronger, girls save world with the obligatory love interest for the main character despite the fact that she's a child- even a "wedding" at the end of the series. I would recommend this only to readers between the ages of 6-9 and only if they are in that "cute" phase. For everybody else it just ends in diabetes.

The First Manga I Ever Read..........2006-08-06

And by far the very best! 11 year old Ichigo Momomiya is at the museum with her crush. After a rather interesting turn of events, she finds herself injected with the DNA of an endangered Wildcat! (But, she doesn't realize it at the time.) As she it hanging out with her crush, Masaya in the park, a giant rat attacks her and Masaya! At that point, she is rescued by a blonde teen named Ryou Shirogane. He soon explains to her that she must defeat the rat, seeing as she is a superhero now. (At this point, she is about to flip out.) She defeats the rat, and soon, her destiny unfolds.

She is taken to Cafe Mew Mew (rather forcefully, and Ichigo, continuosly throughout the volume, calls him a jerk) and is informed she must find the other Mew Mews.

The art is absolutel beautiful, and the characters are great. beliveable, might I add. The villians in the series are three conspiring alion, Pie, Tart, and Kish. (Kish later develops a crush on Ichigo, BTW) Mint Aizawa and Lettuce Midorikawa are intruduced as well. The remaining two Mews are introduced in Vol. 2.

Ryou Shirogane was also another great character, and in the later volumes his role gets pretty important. Ichigo is my favorite chracter, and she's a girl everyone can relate too. Just your average girl faced with incredible situations, and only with the help of her friends can she pull through. (She happens to be the strongest mew Me wof them all.) All inall, this is a beautiful Manga, and has a wonderful storyline. Believe me, Buy This Manga!!

Tokyo Mew Mew is the BEST manga ever!.......2006-07-06

This is one of my favorite mangas in the whole intire world!!!! Mia Ikumi's art work is so cool and her character designs for the girls( Ichigo, Mint, Lettuce, Pudding, and Zakuro). Also, the story line is great! You can never get bored with this manga!

A Note by Ichigo~.......2006-11-05

Hi! I'm Ichigo, just thought I'd put a little review for the second book. I don't want to give anything away, but you know how in the first book we're just getting to know each other (even though it's not all of us) and I sorta don't really like Mint . . . yeah. But this book features the other two Mew Mew's: Zakuro and Pudding. Zakuro is part wolf, and Pudding is part lion. . .monkey. . thing. I don't remember I'll have to ask her later. But anyway in this book this is where the Mew Mew's really start to get together, ya know battling chimera anima and stuff like that. (Kish is such the flirt!). . . (and an alien!) So, if you haven't decided whether you wanted to buy this book or not, I think you should. Even though it doesn't have me on the cover *sniff* it's still good. Oh and. . . oh, gotta go! More chimera anima to fight! Bye!

Tokyo Mew Mew Book 2.......2006-01-09

In the start of this book there are only three Mew Mews: Ichigo Momomiya, Mint Aizawa, and Lettuce Midorikawa. Ichigo is part iriomote cat, Mint is part ultramarine lorikeet (a bird), and Lettuce is part porpoise. They meet two other girls, Pudding Fong who is part golden lion tamarin (a monkey), and Zakuro Fujiwara who is part gray wolf. Zakuro is probably my favorite. I like Mint, too. Mint is really pretty on the cover. I like her hairdo.
You should probably read book 1 first. It is about how Ichigo gets her powers and meets Mint and Lettuce.

This book is very cute and highly recomended! I just got this book a while ago and I loved it!The only thing I really hate is Kish he's just to flirty around Ichiga. So in this book The mews (Ichoga,Mint and lettuce) finally find the other two mews ,Zakuro and Purin(A.K.A Pudding),
and Minto(mint)and Retasu(Lettuce) meet the alien Kish.This book is made for some one nine or older for some mild laguege.

This book Tokyo Mew Mew was a very good book to read. The main characters were Ichigo the" leader", Mint the rich girl who always has a proper time to do every thing, Lettuce the clumsy one, Pudding who has a lot of energy, and Zacuro the model. This book leaves off from the first one. Mint, Ichigo, Lettuce, Pudding, and Zacuro got injected with animal DNA in a freak accident now Ichigo has to find the other mew mews to help her save the world from anima animals. Kish (a bad guy) likes to flirt with Ichigo and in this book Kish comes out of no where and kisses her. He wants to get rid of the mew mews so he and his master can take over the world. I wanted to read this book because my friend got me hooked on the show so I wanted to read the book to see what was going on. I think girls around 12 or 13 would enjoy this book because its got a really good plot and its about all theaes girls who are like animals. The theme of this book is "don't judge a book by its cover" because people think the mew mews are bad but they're not.
A good thing that I liked was that they were really powerful and they worked at a really nifty coffee shop. A bad thing would be that the ending was not enough and I wanted to read more about what happened so it leaves you hanging in a way.
Over all I think this book rocked so hard and ill read it again any day. I recommend this book because it's really good and it's really entertaining for girls. Im glad I read and hopefully I could get someone hooked on it.

Tokyo Mew Mew vol.2.......2005-10-18

I am Mia not Frank!(just to let you know) This book continues the cliffhanger ending of book 1, the scene with Kish kissing Ichigo. This book made me want Ichigo to love Kish instead of Masaya or Ryou. In this book the rest of the mew mews are introduced. The stupid names and battle cries don't get any less stupider. That's the only downside. This book Kish in it (yay^_^) and tells alittle more about Mint. Ryou shows his love for Ichigo much more in this book but she's just too dense to accualy see it! If you read the first book then you're probably like me inbetween book 1 and 2; dieing for more! Ichigo still won't love Kish(boohoo-_-)This series is like Sailor Moon so if you like Sailor Moon you'd like this!

Most memorable mew Manga!.......2006-10-14

Number 4 is here to stay!Other then having dolls and a tv show,this is the best!Okay,so Ichigo(cat)has a boyfriend, has trouble balancing mew time, an girl time,and has the worst part.During one of her battles with Kish,beeep,beeep.phone rings.And its her boyfriend,Masaya!So she has to set up a metting time(5 o'clock in the front of the school)So Mint(bird)Pudding(monkey),Lettuce(dolphin),and Zakuro(wolf)have to get moving("Hush.Lets get moving so Ichigo can go on her date" Mint said)Then they have to get the Mew Aqua(sigh).Then Kish sends out a dust Waiburn(groan)So they have to get the mew aqua faster to save everyone in Tokyo!When Masha's sensor is not working,Mint finds it and gets a new weapon,the Mew Aqua Rod!So everyone conbines there powers,and(of course)win!And its about 8 o'clock!And...I leave you there!You have to find the rest out!As a true Mew-fanatic(read all the books)This is great!A bonus is Tokyo Black Cat Girl(her names Azumi)And Great artwork(though I managed to draw them)Its a party volume 4!

This book is about Ichoga a girl who can turn in to a cat/girl so she can save the world from evil alien animals with the help of her fellow animal-girl friends from the super cute cafe she works at. Each of the girls have different dna mixes with different animals. Ichoga with a cat, Minto with a bird, Retasu with a dolphin, Purin (my favorite) with a monkey and Zakuro with a wolf. As cute as it gets Ichoga has a crush on the most popular boy in her school ( I think she's in sixth or seventh grade not to sure)! Very cute highly recomended ecspecialy becuse Purin's on the front cover!^_^!

I had read the first Tokyo Mew Mew book, and then I saw the fourth one and I bought it. I thought it was the best. I would defenitly recommend this to girls (ages 9+) who love cute manga!

Alright--it doesn't get any cuter or sweeter than this. Characters are named after sweets, and their base is a pastry cafe built to look like a tiered wedding cake. They attack with bells and batons, and their enemies are mice, sparrows, and other everyday animals that aliens have injected with something to make them big. And the preteen love story is there in its entirety.

Oh boy, this is the best book yet! I LUV Kish, he's soooo HOTT. I'm so mad at Ichigo for liking Masaya instead of him. If I were her, I'd consider myself lucky. I cried when Kish died, it broke my heart that he would die to save the girl that doesn't even love him! ANYWAY.......I HIGHLY recomend that you read this book.

By the way, im not a kid. Im just a girl who used the kids review so i wouldn't have to log on. im 14, seriously. Luv ya!

I loveddd this book it's probably the best book out of the series. It seems so happy until the suprise twist. I'd really like to tell you but it would destroy the suprise part. Read IT!!!!!!!

It was a great book, but it was sort of sad. I mean, Kish dies and he really loves Ichigo and all that. It does have it's happy moments, but in my opinion, it is just plain sad.
