Memorable through a lifetime.......2007-08-11

I grew up reading the work of Isaac Asimov. This is the book that launched my life-long love of robots. I, too, fell for Robot Tony. These many years after my paperback edition finally deteriorated, I vividly recall how every story in this book made me feel, and want to believe, that robots were "real." Asimov may have foretold the future, as today's technology creates close-to-humanoid robots. This book should be mandatory reading for anyone who is a fan of robots or of science fiction. At the very least, it will make you never forget those "Three Laws of Robotics."

A Great Collection.......2005-07-17

I had this book in hard cover on my shelf for a decade or more, handed down to me from my avid sci-fi reading Mom...all I can say is what was I waiting for? The collection of short stories in this book are wonderful. Each tale has its own charm and many include the familiar caharcters of Dr. Lanning and "cold as sttel" Dr. Calvin. The earliest story was written in 1942, and although it might be considered "dated", it certainly isn't. It's quite difficult to put down as the stories are fast paced and intersting the whole way through. If you are a robot fan, or an Asimov lover, or reader of classic sci-fi, this title is not to be missed!

Better than "I, Robot.".......2003-12-29

I remember reading this volume late into the evening, in the dark, in a car sometime long ago when I was a teenager. I couldn't put it down. I think the stories in "The Rest of the Robots" are superior to "I, Robot." We get more of iron Susan Calvin, the robotics scientist whose metallic mannerisms hide a surprisingly vulnerable person inside, and the story "Lenny" is one of my favorites. If you like Asimov, this is not to be missed.

Short but fun.......2000-06-13

This is quite a fun little book - a must for any serious collector of Asimov stories. A lot of the stories in here are pretty easy to find elsewhere - Let's Get Together, Lenny, Satisfaction Guaranteed, and Galley Slave are all amply anthologized in other books. But Victory Unintentional, Robot AL-76 Goes Astray, and First Law are relatively hard to find. Nearly all of the stories are high quality (they chose the best), and the book is small enough to squeeze anywhere. A personal favorite among Asimov anthologies.

The first few stories are just kind of cutesy, and can be read quickly.
My favorite was "Risk" which is about what happens when a robot is valued more highly than a man's life.
The stories are all well-written and engaging. My complaint is that I always feel let down at the end. Asimov seems to think that every story must end in a little psychological twist that is explained in the final paragraph. It's like he's saying - this is where the story was going the whole time, but rather than show it to you throughout the story, I'm going to bang you in the head with it right at the very end!

Take "Victory Unintentional" for example. It's a story about a delegation of human-made robots that travels to the surface of Jupiter to inspect the way of life of the Jovian citizens, who are hostile towards humans but not yet technologically capable of conducting a war against them.
It's pretty clear throughout the story what's going on - the robots repeatedly and unintentionally perform amazing physical acts that impress the Jovians. But still, on the last page Asimov has to explain in detail what was going on inside the Jovians' heads and how intimidated they were. He goes over a similar sort of process again in five more of the eight robot stories. It's also the same thing he does in the original four "Foundation" short stories. So if you loved the "Foundation" stories, you'll probably like this book, too. Otherwise, the stories are still good, but prepare to be a little frustrated at times.

Essential Reading.......2004-04-15

This book is Christianity 101. You will get a biblical understanding of the power of the blood of Jesus as well as real life demonstrations of this power. What was suprising to me about this book was the depth. Some of the power evangelists don't seem to know the bible that well, but Mr. Chavda really knows his stuff. Wonderful sections on covenant. While you're at it read "The Hidden Power of Prayer and Fasting" as well, which is an absolute classic.

Powerful ! Priceless !.......2003-05-18

The extreme significance and substance of this book far exceeds the mere 92 pages of it's contents. I find it difficult in words alone to stress the importance of this book.

The essential message of the Gospel is provided here through the fundamental basis of Salvation being the shed Blood of Jesus Christ as a covering/atonement & propitiation for the sin of mankind.

Jesus Christ is clearly revealed in this book as the Saviour, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world through the shedding of His precious Blood. The absolute magnitude and priceless nature of Jesus' Blood pertaining to Salvation is presented through an abundance of Scriptural references and examples from both the Old & New Testament, which are discussed in some depth.

The writer, through a meticulous presentation, shows the emphasis and necessity of the provision of blood serving as an atonement for sin in Old Testament times ("It is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul" - Leviticus 17;12) and also in the New Testament ("Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins." - Hebrews 9;22).

The writer describes how Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was crucified at the time of the Feast of Passover, the very time that the Jewish people kept to remember the historic occasion of their Exodus from slavery when God declared "When I see the blood I will pass over you" (Exodus 12;33).

At the very time that the Jewish people were celebrating the first Exodus, the writer shows that Jesus was making atonement for the ýsecond Exodus', to all who would believe in his sacrifice and the efficacy of the shedding of His precious Blood on the cross as an Exodus from sin and the penalty of sin.

The book does a far better job of describing this than I can in a short review. The book also proceeds to describe God's provision for health, protection , coping with life's difficulties & even Spiritual warfare through this very subject. This really is an excellent read which I cannot recommend highly enough.

This book teaches you what churches do not teach........1999-07-14

This book is a manuel for anyone who wants to invovke the power of Jesus. It teaches you what churches are not teaching their congregations; how to battle evil! I have read many books about Jesus and this is one book I would recommend, if you are serious about learning how to use divine power.

Strong Meat.......2006-12-27

This was the third Murray book I have been privileged to read, and won't be the last. As always, he skirts the shallow subjects plaguing modern Christian writings, and plunges into a deep, meaningful subject.

He discusses appropriating the blood by faith, and why the blood of our Lord is so powerful. One of the subjects which most impressed me was that of the effect the blood has on the diposition of a believer when he takes communion. It is powerful because it works in him the same self-giving nature which was in our Lord Himself.

A must read for believers hungry for the depths of Christ. Now however, I must forewarn you that this book will not entertain you. In fact, you may find the first three chapters to be slow, as I did. However, almost each chapter ends with tremendously powerful prayers and meditations of the subject just discussed.

Truly a magnificent work which will undoubtedly have powerful repercussions in your life. Read it twice!

Lacking one thing ...........2006-08-16

A powerful book explaining in detail, using scripture, the power contained in the blood of Christ. I learned so much reading this bood. However, it lacks telling the readers that the blood of Christ is available to them in the Eucharist! When Jesus said, "Do this in rememberance of me," he meant it. The power of the blood of Christ is available to all in a real and meaningful way - at the table of the Lord. It baffles me that the author omitted that from his book.

In these days, many who hold authoritative positions in the various ministries in the church avoid discussion of the Blood of Jesus and the mighty name of Jesus. Little wonder the church is powerless today and many passionate Christians are opting out of the church experience.
Read this book. Make the blood of Jesus your foremost thought since that is what enables you entrance into the Kingdom of God. Interlace your conversation with the blood of Jesus. Tell men of the blood of Jesus. There is nothing more powerful and dreadful to the enemy. The Gospel, which neccesarily is based upon the blood of Jesus, spoken by you, with effectual fervent prayer, issues utter defeat to the enemy.

This was the book the Lord led me to when I expressed a desire for complete surrender. The cleansing, the power, the sanctification -- God is showing me that everything I need for victory is in the Blood of Jesus.

If Christians would just learn about the power in the Blood, we would never look to anyone but Jesus Christ. We would have joy and victory even during trials and storms in life. We would never backslide as long as we meditate on God's law day and night and abide beneath the fountain of blood.

I am coming to believe that the blood of Jesus Christ is the most powerful, yet misunderstood resource God has given us. If I could just learn how to pray without ceasing and appropriate the power of the blood, I could truly do all things through Christ. Christians are weak because we substitute Sunday and Wednesday church services for intense daily prayer, fasting, travailing, and learning how to use Jesus' shed blood to enter into the holiest of holies.

Oh, the resources we willfully ignore! Get this book! Discipline yourself to surrender totally unto God and ask Christ to teach you the power inherent in His blood. This book is deep -- very deep and very true. In fact, it is a big, juicy T-bone steak. Can we properly digest it, or is meat too strong for our tummies? Too much milk weakens the stomach, I think.

Andrew Murray has written a tremendous discourse on the blood. He has done the Body of Christ a great service, and I thank God for the old-school preachers. People get grossed out when you talk about the blood. Nothing has changed in the last 2,000 years. The truth is, there's nothing gross about this -- it's meat, pure and simple.

Would be to God that Christians would grow up, get out of their theological playpens and denominational frameworks and learn about the blood and apply it their lives.

Enough pleading the blood; let's drink it!

I just happened to be browsing through a Christian bookstore & noticed the discount table of merchandise. Amidst the scores of large books with showy, attractive covers, I was attracted to this very small book with a very plain cover. Never had I heard of the author before. After glancing through this book, I purchased it and have been enlightened ever since. It's my next most important book next to the Holy Bible itself.

To my fellow believers in Christ, I say, "Powerful truths are published in small, plain covers."

This book gets you back to the basics of holiness of God and deliverance through the blood of Christ Jesus. Here the author covers the foundations of our faith and hope. When was the last time you heard a sermon or even a weekday bible study on the power of the blood of Jesus??

This is one of the best studies I have ever done. It is a must do for every believer and it will change how you view what Christ did for us and continues to do today. There are layers of depth of meaning here, so I would suggest going over it more than once or getting a group together to discuss your findings.

What can I say, this is the third book of Brother Benny's I have read... absolutely fantastic! It clearly relates scripture to today and how we can move forward in our daily life by putting our past at the foot of the cross.

When you fully appreciate what The Blood of Christ has given you already and how important it is to remember the Blood shed at Golgotha, you will receive a new leash of life, wonderfully anointed.

Imagine a life with no bondage, no condemnation, no fight all because you realise what God has done for YOU... the cross of shame took away any blame from ALL... embrace it and you will be blessed, truly! Thats not my promise it is Gods ;-)

Excellent book.......2005-08-02

This is an outstanding book. Benny Hinn's ministry has done nothing but help the Body of Christ. If you choose to hate him, then keep your ungodly thoughts to yourself. Benny Hinn is not perfect and neither are you. Jesus was persecuted for healing the sick in His day and Benny Hinn is condemned today by modern day Pharisees for doing the same. Should we expect anything different? Jesus said that we would experience persecution.

Thank you Brother Benny for taking the Good News to a sinful, angry, sick, poor, and defeated world.

Reader's Obsession.......2004-06-10

The book is powerful and marvelous. Benny Hinn is a man of God who directs people to a more intimate relationship with God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit; and he understands the applications of the Blood and the covenants God has made over time. It's not about Benny! His works are always love filled. I pity "hermie boy" who wrote a previous review. After looking at his (hermie boy's) other reviews in "see more about hermie boy," I realize that he or she is completely obsessed with Benny Hinn. If he/she hates his books so much, why read each and every one and then print hate filled messages about them? Hermie, I will be praying for you, because you seem to need help. I mean that sincerely, whether or not you believe that...

Benny Hinn fans will love it !! Christians who read their bible and understand scripture will hate it. Typical Benny Hinn twisted scripture and bad bible interpretation. Pastor Benny does it again. He writes another powerful book on the things of the Spirit. This book will show the believer the power he has through the blood of Christ.
