Book Description
The seventh novel of the action-packed science fiction series takes readers into the heart of a secret Prime base-where Kusac must make an alliance with an enemy general to save his son's life.
Download Description
In the midst of unrest on his home world of Shola, Kusac has chosen to undertake a secret mission of which only those in the highest echelons of the Brotherhood are aware. And even they are not privy to all the information Kusac has uncovered, nor all the plans he has made. Carrie and Kaid have not been told the truth. So when Kusac flees Shola, seemlingly abandoning his responsibilities, his Triad, and his clan, Carrie is devastated and Kaid is furious. Yet Carrie will not give up on Kusac, certain he will one day return to explain his actions. But whether Kusac and his elite team can actually accomplish their mission and escape with their lives remains to be seen. For to achieve their goal they must rendezvous with the Valtegan general who is Kusac's archenemy in the hopes of rescuing Kusac's young son. But even if he succeeds--branded rebel by his own people, struggling to deal with new powers he scarcely understands, and caught between the machinations of his own god and those of a secret and ancient alien organization--can Kusac hope to regain all that he has lost on Shola?

my poem.......2000-12-23
Im 14. i wrote the poem "Secret love". It's actually a poem anybody can relate to! that's why i wrote it because i felt that way once and i know everybody does/has or will. i hope you liked/like it. email me tu_sweet_05@hotmail.com with comments. Lyz R.
Very poorly published.......2000-12-19
What a great concept -- but what a disappointment when someone's poem is published and someone else's name appears on it! In reviewing the index the vast majority of the poems don't match up with the page numbers given. My daughter's poem, Perfection, is on page 74, however her name is Ashley Rooks, and credit for the work was given to a Wendy M. Howell. I now have a heartbroken daughter, and I am returning the book, which was to be a very special Christmas present to her.
Emotions, Pain, and poets........2000-11-07
I think this is a book for anyone with a love of poetry, especially of a darker nature than most. I personally am one of the many aspiring poets in this book, my poem is titled Forsaken. I hope you will enjoy it and also support poetry.com in helping the little guy get published.
Poetry of the Soul.......2000-10-10
This book contains poetry written by people who chose to share their thoughts with poetry.com. "Between Darkness and Light" is a collaboration of unique poetry selected by poetry.com for publication. The poems contained in this text are overflowing with emotions, thoughts, and dreams. They are each individually unique and touching in their own ways.

Product Description
The author explains how through his medical and religious experiences he has discovered another method of healing. He believes that many supposedly "incurable" patients are the victims of ancestral control. He therefore seeks to liberate them from this control. By drawing up a family tree he can identify the ancestor who is causing his patient harm. He then cuts the bond between the ancestor and the patient by celebrating, with a clergyman, a service of Holy Communion in which he delivers the tormented ancestor to God.

Best book on healing.......2005-02-25
A great book on healing,it is amazing and wonderful to read how God helps even in times of trouble.
I read this book along with A Guide to Healing and also Intergenerational Healing by Fr Degrandis and then proceeded to heal my family tree this way:
First I started inner healing of myself.
Then I prayed for healing my family tree and it has worked wonders for me.Thank God ,this book is truly a gem for those seeking solutions to the various unexplained things happening in their life. There were many problems in our family including mental illness passed down to generations which modern medicine could not cure and we did not know what to do. Dr.McAll actually helped us see the root cause of our problems like idol worship and disobedience to the first commandment by previous generations and by solving them,we were delivered from such long torture and agony. Also there were many abortions in our ancestral families and we were able to ask forgiveness and baptize those unborn souls. Thus many unresolved problems and violent behaviour of many family members were cured.I could write many more examples, this book actually took me to a higher level of understanding God's works. The healing powers of Jesus' blood in the Eucharist was always there, but we just did not know how to receive those blessings.A great many thanks to Dr McAll for such wonderful sharing.
wonderful, enlightning, fascinating and very spiritual.......1997-08-26
This book and it's new companion - Guide to Healing the Family Tree are a must reading for anyone engaged in counseling be it 'spiritual' or not. The anecdotal format is excellent for bringing examples to a sharp point without a lot of laborious wordiness. These books give a sense of hope and give a direct relationship to biblical teaching and belief that is relative to problems of today on an individual level. It doesn't require any great knowledge of psychology but only a desire to better understand how past personal or family experiences can have a great impact on current lives and events

Very good for ministers and missionaries .......2007-07-12
I sat by one of the authors, Alice Brawand, on a plane, and she was such a facinating lady that I looked her up when I got home. She had worked in Guatamala as a linguist with the Rabinal-Achi' people for about 12 years translating the Bible into their language, along with her husband John. She is the daughter and wife of a minister, as well as a veteran of the mission field. She also has a Master's in Social Work and Counseling, I believe. The book was very eye-opening and helpful.
Secrets of Your Family Tree: Healing for Adult Children of Dysfunctional Families .......2007-01-12
Everyone will benefit from this book, but especially those involved in helping professions. Not only can you use it in your work, but it will help you see why YOU tick like you do! Written from a Christian perspective with Biblical examples.
Very Informative!.......2006-11-02
I found this book very helpful, explaining how things went wrong within the family, and
steps to take to heal and move forward.
You will find your famly in the book! .......2006-10-05
There is little doubt that most people will recognize their own families in this book since no family is perfect and most are truly dysfunctional to some degree. This book has a good spiritual approach to looking at family life.
I use it as a part-time minister to give me insights on famlies and their issues. I think everyone can get something of great value out of reading this book. I highly recommend it along with the whole series of books offered as a part of the Minirth-Meier Healing series.
Secrets of Your Family Tree.......2002-01-10
Secrets of Your Family Tree was worth every dime and more. A person could not possibly put a price on the invaluable information that this book provides its readers. Some especially good points in the book are: "Time does NOT 'heal all wounds' when it comes to family issues; If we have only experienced a family that keeps everything secret, that is how we will naturally conduct our own family." My favorite chapters are the first three since they go through the roots of dsyfunctional families and provide an in-your-face look at how they operate under different circumstances. Included are "questions for reflection" throughout the book and a helpful appendix of resources on "Where ACDFs Can Find Help." Lastly, one thing to keep in mind is that this book is Christian-based, and every page has a biblical reference. I highly recommend it for anyone who has a strong and serious desire to educate themselves and start or greatly influence the healing process.

Healing Your Family Tree.......2000-04-05
This book gives a detailed account of how to approach sickness, emotional and psychological problems and other family dysfunctions by healing your family tree. The author has a firm grasp on the theology behind this relatively recent idea, and also has studied science, especially genetics, so he is able to give ways for us to understand how ancestral sin, a little bit like original sin, can have long-term effects on descendants. The book is in a question and answer format and very thorough.

Book Description
Honest Nutrition is an attempt to do what textbooks and hundreds of diet books do not. Nutrition textbooks do not tell you that this science is in its infancy, nor how many "scientific" claims are open to question, based on faulty research or simple hunches. If they include some of the biochemical and physiological context of nutrition, they still omit financial, social and political aspects.
After attempting to understand the prejudice against vitamins and supplements among the industrial-medical-political Big Brother (IMP-BB) and the lack of evidence for most alternatives, there is still some useful information.
Opposing philosophies are denoted as SUPR (SUrgery-PRescription orientation) and UTHR (Unconventional Therapies, Herbal Remedies.)
Honest Nutrition uses a large alphabetical section to give easy access to useful information about many diseases and nutritional therapies.
Honest Nutrition includes information about hormone resistance diseases, cryptic infections as a cause of "unknown etiology" diseases, and the effect of nutrition on behavior and criminality.
Some claims:
1. Obesity always involves hormones, sometimes with positive-feedback loops, which is why "Just eat less and exercise" seldom works. 2. A major factor in arterial disease is viscous blood, resulting in part from a lack of omega-3 fat. Cholesterol lowering does not help. 3. Some heart attacks may be due to hormonal effects, involving the hormone ouabain, and preventable with an extract of the herb strophanthus. 4. Many, or most North Americans suffer serious lack of nutrients: vitamin D, magnesium, and plant nutrients.
The author challenges the medical establishment to examine their doctrines and learn how to help people suffering from nutritional diseases. Many technical terms are included. The non-scientific reader is asked to skip over these, to gain a useful knowledge of nutrition.
Customer Reviews:
Bringing Reality to the Health-Care Debate.......2007-07-10
Many who write on the subject of nutrition and health are intelligent, educated and knowledgeable. Honest Nutrition by Ira Edwards is noteworthy because the author writes as a health consumer; he does not have a health product or service to promote. To his credit, Edwards has no bias for or against conventional medicine, alternative medicine or herbal healing. He lays out the benefits, problems and costs of various nutritional, herbal and medical modalities with careful attention to biochemical realities.
Over several decades, Edwards has investigated the authenticity of many scientific studies that are commonly accepted in health and medical practice. His education and professional experience, in biochemistry and in scientific methodology, well qualify him to see through a fraudulent veneer where it exists. Among innumerable subjects, his findings on cholesterol are important to anyone interested in maintaining good health.
Although retired, Edwards has stayed current with scientific discovery. The book is abundantly filled with timely, relevant information. For me, it has been a marvelous resource, dropped into my hands at an appropriate time to help with important (and beneficial) health decisions.
Finally!.......2007-04-06
Mr Edwards cuts through the hype that passes for nutritional information these days and tells us what the various vitamins and minerals actually do in our bodies. He is honest enough to tell us, unlike most nutritional authors, that he doesn't know everything and can't give answers to everything. I especially like the alphabetically arranged descriptions of nutrients and conditions. At last I understand what those nutrients are supposed to do. Too bad I can't get this kind of honest answer from my own doctor - who seems to be locked into a "SUPR" mentality. This book ought to be required reading for every family physician and every surgeon - before he makes the first scalpel cut!
A refreshingly unbiased attempt to help the reader.......2007-03-25
I wish I had got my hands on this book 15 years ago, when I experienced a sudden decline in health and began my search for answers. It would have saved me from several regrettable decisions and given me the understanding I needed to navigate both the health care industry and the world of self-help bookdom with more discernment.
The author is quick to admit that he does not have all the answers, but what he does offer the reader is an laudable attempt to provide unbiased information for the purpose of truly being a help to the reader.
I learned a lot about the pharmaceutical companies, the FDA, the conventional medical establishment, and the nutritional supplement industry. In some areas, my suspicions were confirmed. In others, my naivity was embarrassingly exposed. I especially appreciate how the author shares the information without being out to get one group or the other.
Any book written by a physician is almost assuredly going to be pushing their own biased approach to health care. The fact that the author is not a health care provider makes it easier to trust that he is truly attempting to be unbiased. His credibility on the subject comes not from any medical degree, since he has none, but from years of study to uncover the truth in health care marketing and research claims.
Topics covered include: honesty, bad advice, sources for information, the medical establishment, economic problems, principles of nutrition (that do not involve the food pyramid), deficiencies and supplementation, mental function, and a host of diseases that plague our culture. In all topics, the effect of nutrition on body processes is explained in detail, and approaches offered by both conventional and alternative therapies are explored.
If you are looking for a quick fix to your own health challenges, then this book is not for you. But if you are looking for information that will help guide you toward improved health, I highly recommend Honest Nutrition. It will challenge both you and your health care providers to be slower to throw a band-aid solution at your health problems and quicker to search for the origin and resolution of your particular disease.
Book Description
Every family has relational habits--both positive and negative--that have been passed down from generation to generation. Experienced counselor Beverly Hubble Tauke cites real-life stories and suggests specific "transforming practices" to change family patterns. By putting an end to the cycle of negativity, families can find the joy that God intended for them and enjoy healthy relationships for generations to come. This is a repackage with new title (previous title, [Overcoming the] Sins of the Family, 2004).
Customer Reviews:
The Redemptive Generation.......2007-07-09
In "Healing Your Family Tree," Beverly Hubble Tauke prescribes eight transforming habits to help people overcome a painful past and create a legacy of future joy. Tauke bases her core transforming habit on the biblical principle of generational sin. Speaking of Nehemiah 9, she states, "Nehemiah demonstrated how to take a `moral inventory' not just of personal life, but of family history." She also roots her model in Bowenian family systems therapy which emphasizes the interconnection of all family members in a web of mutual influence.
Building from these two central perspectives, Tauke offers eight practical transforming habits: explore and resolve the wounds from your family history, warm your heart through building nurturing relationships, find reasons to celebrate even in your grief, define your role in your extended and nuclear family, minimize the family tyrant's power over you, seek one-to-one relationships with each member of your family, embrace a vibrant connection with God, and exercise judicious generosity. She powerfully illustrates the outworking of these habits through biblical history, modern examples, and illustrative vignettes from her therapeutic practice.
"Healing Your Family Tree" is a hopeful, healing book written by an author who works in the trenches of family misery (Tauke works as a licensed clinical social worker in D.C.). It faithfully communicates the biblical principle that "where sin abounds, there grace superabounds." Tauke provides proven pathways on the journey home--the journey of relational forgiveness, personal freedom, and family harmony.
Reviewer: Dr. Robert W. Kellemen is the author of Beyond the Suffering: Embracing the Legacy of African American Soul Care and Spiritual Direction, Soul Physicians, and Spiritual Friends. He is also a licensed clinical professional counselor and a seminary professor.
Customer Reviews:
Save your money!!.......2000-12-11
Poorly written, narrow-minded and vague, this book is a total waste of paper. Let me sum it up in one sentence: Find something wrong with you, blame your ancestors, pray to God for forgiveness for stuff you didn't do, and you're as good as cured. I have a feeling a little silver is also expected to cross the palm of the religious representative who is acting as your "hotline to God." Ridiculous.
a must companion to Healing The Family Tree.......1997-08-26
This book provides an explanation of what areas or sickness may be affected by what aspects of the past in the 'family tree' and makes a useful companion to its predecessor. Anyone engaged in counseling should have both books at hand. Symptoms may point directly to specific incidents either in the persons life or the life of another family member, past or present and will give direction as to how and what needs to be healed
