Resident Evil #1 The Umbrella Conspiracy by S.D. Perry.......2007-08-27
Excellent book. I always had trouble focusing while reading. I would read a page and then go back and read it again because I forgot what I read. Not after I read this book. I love horror stories and the book reads great. I have read all the books in the series, plus some Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance books after this. I also read Idoru, Gates of Fire, and the Human Comedy, and classics like Slaughterhouse Five, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and the Good Earth.
Not bad for book number one.......2007-06-04
GREAT!!!...Sort off. in all honiesty it wasn't too bad. It followed the game a little too closely and those who have played resident evil directors cut would know what happens next. But i liked it because it followed seperate accounts of each character, so whilst one character was doing one thing you ended up following the seperate acounts of another character. I deffinately reccomend it for those who are not too familiar withe game as it goes into more detail of the events befor the game. I would also reccomend buying the second novel after this and so on and so on. happy reading resi fans
From the prespective of a fan.........2006-10-16
I would have to say, I really loved reading through this book. From a fan's prespective, there are both good and bad points. Just to make it clear, SD Perry did a FANTASTIC job of describing what happens in the game. On the other hand, since I've played the games and read all the files.. the book didn't elaborate *too much* on the story.. and parts of the beggining which(I will not ruin) were just sort of monotonous(Wesker). I'm assuming the author assumes the majority of the audience would be the fans of the videogame series, but I still believe just a little bit more description of the areas in the mansion would be nice.. "Turned right and took the closest door!" doesn't quite cut it when I'm trying to use my imagination. For the good points, the book moves at a very good pace. There were familiar puzzles from the game but not to the point where they are drawn out and monotonous. The characters were also fleshed out very well for the type of novel this is. For any fan, I would definately reccomend this book. For anyone else, I am not so sure... because of course, this is from the opinion of a fan. I will definately read the rest of the RE books, especially since the next in the series is an original adaptation to the story :]
Best Book Series I've Ever Read.......2006-08-14
When I first bought this book, I read 25 pages or so and then just stopped reading. Why did I do this? I have no idea. It was a very stupid decision on my part. It was about a year later that I was bored and looking for something to do. I saw the book and decided to read it. Now I am not typically someone who reads. In facts these are some of the only books I've read outside of school. So if you're like me and don't care for reading, these books may change your mind. After reading Resident Evil, I was wanting more and I now own every book in the series. The Umbrella Conspiracy still remains to be my favorite. It's just a great horror novel. It goes into detail about how the T-virus affected Raccoon City, and how the S.T.A.R.S. attempt to stop the virus. The other books in the series go further into the mystery and other viruses, and how they affect the world.
This was the fastest book I have ever read. Every single chance I had to read it, I would. It even has a clouple funny parts in it. S.D. Perry did an amazing job on these books. It's a mixture of dark, horror, scary elements with plenty of violence and action to keep your mind occupied. You will have no problem imagining the events in your head. It's not hard reading either, so you should be able to breeze right through it. There really are no boring parts in this book, except maybe a bit of the beginning.
So get your self a copy of this book if you haven't done so. You will be wanting more at the end. Check out the entire series after reading this, but go in order from first to last. The movie which was "supposedly" based off this book was terrible and didn't follow the storyline at all which is of course what Hollywood does to most movies based off of books. Don't see it. If you love horror novels or if you're a fan of the video game, this needs to be part of your collection. But if you are shy to violence and gore, this is not the book for you, cause this baby is filled with all that good stuff. You just can't get enough of this. I'll say it again> Best book series I have ever read. Get it.
Excellent Game --> Book Translation!.......2006-08-10
This was one of the very first books I read based on a video game. To say the least, I was pleasantly surprised! For those who love the plot of the resident evil games and always want to know more (like myself), definitely check out the entire series! S.D. Perry has done a fantastic job with every single one of them!

Customer Reviews:
Fantastic Book!.......2007-06-08
This book by Henry Drummond is a much-neglected meditation on I Corinthians 13. With kindness and gentle encouragement, Drummond walks the reader through the characteristics of love we all fail so miserably to exhibit in our own lives. Well-written and short, this book should be on the shelf of anyone who is trying to live Scripture.
Something to Share.......2007-04-02
My brother sent me a copy. He liked it so much he brought fifty copies to share with friends. I in turn have purchased copies to give away. It is the Sermon on the Mount, The Gospel of John, and First John all in one by way of expounding upon Paul's great love expose. Gary Trawick.
Not satisfied with this book.......2007-04-01
I did not receive the book that was pictured. It was inferior quality. I returned them (I had ordered 10 as special gifts for my grandchildren)because they did not look good. the paper used was cheap paper and the print was terrible. The cover was not as pictured.
The Greatest Thing in the World.......2005-10-08
This give a very thoughtful explaination of how I Corenthians:13 can be applied to ones life.
This little book changed my outlook on life.......2005-08-28
I was given this book in college. I set it on the shelf and didn't pick it up for 4 years. When I read this little book that you can read in one night, I really felt moved. I tried to look at everyone with love. In my profession as a teacher, it really helped! I saw the troublesome kids with eyes of love, and their rebellion melted away. I am reading it again this year before school starts to get my head in the right place. Love is more important than being right. Love is more important than believing the right things. Love is more important than anything you say. Love is the message that people will remember about you.
Book Description

Not the Original.......2005-01-15
This is a nice little book which would be great for an inexpensive wedding or anniversary gift. It is not, however, the original sermon delivered by Henry Drummond. According to the back page of the book it is in "today's language," but in my opinion it is only roughly so. It in not even a true paraphrase as elements of the original are omitted. So, if you're looking for the original sermon delivered by Henry Drummond -- you need to look elsewhere. There are many books containing the original available elsewhere including eBay and through Amazon.com's used books. I highly recommend the original for the beauty of the language and the great message it contains.

timeless practical advice.......2007-05-05
By the time I had read this book, I'd already read countless books and essays on religion and truth and love. This book offered me something extra - and opened my eyes to a wonderful new truth - mainly this - that love is enough. Never having been trained in the social graces, I always felt like a bit of a clutz in social settings such as dinner parties and even simple get-togethers.
Drummond makes the point that if you have love - if you can feel and express love - you have it all. So instead of focusing on which fork to use for the shrimp and salad, I started focusing on how much God loved me and everyone around me.
And that little simple truth enabled me to feel more at ease in every circumstance and in every situation. In later years, when I became a public speaker and traveled the country giving talks, I was often a guest at fine dinners in beautiful restaurants and when I felt "ill at ease" I'd reflect on what I learned from Henry Drummond and remembered - the more important thing was to just to focus on love. This small bit of this powerful book stood me in good stead time and time again.
Drummond's book is about grace, love, truth, Universal spiritual laws - it's got it all. From little things (like social graces) to big things (like loving our fellow man - irrespective of his lot in life) this book will change your life.
This should be required reading for everyone.
Book Description
In his own quest for sobriety and happiness, AA author Mel B. found continual hope and inspiration in the classical writings of James Allen and Henry Drummond on the spiritual life, and in meditation on the deeper spiritual meaning of the famous Peace Prayer attributed to St. Francis of Assisi. He has reprinted all three of these in this present volume, with his own introductions and commentaries to aid the modern reader.
James Allen's As a Man Thinketh teaches us that our lives are governed and shaped by the way we think, feel, speak, and act. We discover that we are always masters of our fate: when our thoughts are wrong, our lives necessarily become wrong.
Henry Drummond's The Greatest Thing in the World, a commentary on I Corinthians 13, is a short book on the true nature of Love--eternal and all-powerful, surviving anything we now see in our world. He describes in detail how the simple ways we act towards ourselves and others are actually ingredients of the Divine Love itself.
The St. Francis Prayer, which A.A.'s Bill W. found so valuable in his own struggle with the Dark Night of the Soul, makes it clear that true Peace can be found only within ourselves. It shows us step by step how to change our inner attitudes and goals to achieve the only kind of serenity and satisfaction in our lives that can endure.

Teachers, Spankings and Love.......2005-03-14
Facinating book! I know the main character's fantasys revolve arround enemas, and the secondary one's arround spankings, but the whole thing revolves arround love, a very true deep human love, facinating. To put all this together with Christianities greatest sermon on love and bring it back arround to self love and family of an other wise just plain tender love story is very interesting. I was impressed with the teachers--- such care, and toughtfulness of the students in an era when paddling was mandatory in most schools is interesting as well. I rememeber a teacher like Sister Mary Francess! I enjoyed the book and recommend it.

When The Jonquils Bloom Again.......2005-03-09
Extremely well written in communicating the psycho-social aspects as related to body cleansing and the role of elders in the life of a child. Sister Sharon's description of the interpersonal relationships is communicated effectively in this un-talked about, and taboo, area of our lives. A refreshing message that nobody needs to change. Every caring parent should read this book.
synoposis of When The Jonquils Bloom Again.......2004-12-12
A young woman grows, blossoms and flowers missing love meant to be part of every child's life. The gentle love she needs is expressed in other ways, giving pain instead of pleasure at the guidance of a spokesman of religion meant to teach love. That missing tenderness is found in the love of her aunt, most accutely felt when she is sick over her aunt's knee, experiencing a loving gentle enema instead of a paddling. These things confuse an otherwise typical teen in areas of love. This beginning confuses her thinking and relationships with God and man. It ends with her love story in the arms of a special man who loves his flower just as she is, a Jonquil, not a Rose, and in the light of God's love holding her baby up to a blue sky knowing God loves them all.
As she grows her innocence is twisted as all our innocences are twisted in that universal perverter of all human minds, socialization. She is born as we all are, loved and loving just as she is, a cooing happy baby. Then she changes. The light of love and knowing she is loved by God and everybody slowly dims and is replaced by the dullness of her trying to be as others wish her to be, forgetting the love that beams down through blue skys creating all life. She learns to be appart from love, cultured and be as she is told to be, a necessary thing to live through the darkness between days light. Unfortunately to be cultured often means learning to do what we are taught is right, not what we know is right. She learns to live in fear not love. She believes God is not beaming love into her, but watching behind the clouds, waiting for her to make a mistake so he can punish her.
She is taught to expect things that hurt and correct as an expression of love. They can be. Love is also expressed in things that feel good. The most gentle physical sensual touching she experiences is during her first enemas as a little girl, and far more frequent enemas after she develops Irritable Bowel Syndrome as a teenager. It is normal to enjoy and desire this. What isn't normal is missing this kind of touching and love in other areas. It should have been poured into her every day in touches, hugs and pats on the head, as it should as a part of being loved and cared for as a child, a human being, just because she is. This isn't there in her early life. She is missing knowledge and experience about life and love, then expected, as we all are, to have hopes and dreams "normal" in every way! She loves being cared for in ways that are not really "normal" --- spankings and enemas. Sharon is confused and feels guilt over this. She is a deviant, unworthy of God or anyone's love, or at least so she thinks. She is wrong.
Sometimes miracles happen, simple miracles. People enter her life who love her and help her to know that she is loved. This is a love story, a universal love story, that applies to each and every person who ever felt guilt for being human and longing to be loved as they are. Jonquils bloom again year after year if you love them as jonquils. That is what the first 195 pages are about. The last 30 pages are The Greatest Thing In The World
The Greatest Thing In The World
The Greatest Thing In The World, by Professor Henry Drummond is the great sermon of love in Christianity. It was first published and millions of copies have been sold since 1880. We are providing this entire eighteen page sermon unedited and free on line, and as part of the book, When The Jonquils Bloom Again, by Sister Sharon. When The Jonquils Bloom Again is a love story, a love story based on the type of love taught by Saint Paul and Jesus in the New Testament. Sharon has a fantasy, a fantasy that hurts no one. Enemas properly given only enhance health, and well-being. (Please see my article, How To Give An Enema. This is true of properly given enemas. It does not always apply to incorrectly given ones.) Having enemas fills her need to be loved.
Christians believe God is Love. Growing toward the example of Jesus in being Love is the focal point of Christianity. This makes her sin, only a sin, IF it separates her from experiencing God's love. In this love story she learns to love herself as God intends all of us to love ourselves and transmits that love to others as we and they are. This book is an example of love as it should be. The Greatest Thing in the World is the text book of love based on the Bible, 1st Corinthians 13. This love, the basis of Christianity, is not just limited to one religion, one people or one culture. It is a common element necessary to living in the sunlight of God's love. It is a fundamental trait of all paths to God. Understanding love through example, as in the book, or by analysis as in the sermon, is a fundamental threshold to coming to live in heaven, whether that heaven be in love and being here on earth or coming to live in the presence of the source of all love outside the bounds of time.
In owning this book, or in giving it to others, it is hoped that this love, this sunshine, this blue skyed day from half a century ago lights a dark corner with more love than was there with its reading.
A book for lovers
When The Jonquils Bloom Again.......2004-11-23
I am the author of this book. It is a tender love story of a young woman from birth to about 24, she is a loved child and experiences much in growing up. She marries a man she very much loves. It is a good story. I very much enjoyed writing it. There are several of the chapters posted on line for your review. To see them go to e-lovestories.
hugs
