Book Description
A desperate search for her missing brother once again pits Claire Redfield against the terrifying bioweapons of the Umbrella Corporation. Her quest leads her to a remote island where a mad genius has unleashed every grotesque creature at his disposal to stop her from interfering with his horrific agenda.
Catapulted to the bottom of the world, Claire is at last reunited with the man she came to find. Chris Redfield has been fighting a one-man war of his own against Umbrella's most terrifying creations...and is now on a collision course with the man who betrayed the S.T.A.R.S. in Raccoon City. A man who should, by all rights, be dead: Captain Albert Wesker.

Super Reader.......2007-08-31
Apparently these are based on the game, which I have never played. A young woman is held captive by a pair of twins who are related to the whole Umbrella thing. They have a very twisted relationship.
She manages to get out, and meets a boy around the area, and they try and escape, dodging monsters.
Elsewhere, the girl's brother, a S.T.A.R.S. member, decides to come looking for her.
The female twin is the carrier of the T-Veronica virus, meaning she can become a superhuman shapeshifter. This is bad news for some.
Enjoyable.......2007-08-13
This book was enjoyable. I was glad that Steve died; he was too annoying in the game and the book reminded me why.
"Code" Is Cryptic.......2005-12-18
Exotic locales are the springboard in this latest entry of S. D. Perry's 'RE' offering. From a South Atlantic island off the coast of South America to bases at the South Pole on the Antartic continent, exotic realms abound. Add to this a secluded mansion inhabited by reclusive twins and haunted by Bandersnatches, this strange brew conjures an unusual concoction of imagary spanning everthing from 'The Thing' to 'Alice's Adventures In Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass'. traditional elements of gothic novels are prevelant as well. Yet, through all of this, 'Code: Veronica' often remains cryptic as the many parts to this puzzle lose cohesion and the conclusion having the impression of being forced or rushed. At times, the residents of this 'Resident Evil' almost seem unclear how to stay in character. Though there is a bit of a fumble here, S. D. Perry does a respectable job at providing a readable sixth tale for the 'RE' franchise volumes of books.
one of my favorites.......2005-10-04
This is one of my favorites about the Resident Evil series. Buy this book. It's as good as the game series.
Good story adapt.......2005-09-29
It tells the story well, and adds a human emotion to it that the game did not go into. Though, it seemed to rush at the end

Really good guide for a hard game.......2003-05-21
This guide is real good it walks you through the game, but still doesnt spoil it
No one does it better than Prima.......2002-11-08
This is not the only Prima guide I have. Prima has the best format. I have Prima guides for all the Resident Evils and various other games. I've tried others that are good, but Prima makes the best.
If you have a choice between Prima or another brand, choose Prima.
(Sorry for sounding like a commercial.)
Hmmm good for Jill but does Chris even exist?.......2002-07-26
Whatever this guide is missing I can guarantee BradyGAMES has got it, and whatever this guide has good of Bradygames don't got.
To start the guide is a fairly good lentgh. But it would've been nice to have a seperate walkthrough of Chris as you have to find it out as you read. The items list and such is great! The strategies for defeating enemies are great and they actually tell you how to CONSERVE your ammo unlike the BradyGAMES guide.
The walkthrough however can be very confusing at times, but how much is packed onto one page is incredible. Some of the screens are in the wrong place (but they are EXTREMELY good at explaining what to do you don't need any screens really). But as I mentioned earlier the guide completely leaves out chris. But the maps are beautiful. The guide is so detailed and precise. The sealed secrets sectio is also impressive. But the fact that it spoils the ending made this guide lose a star, but I didn't have to heat to hold it against them since it was in the SEALED SECRETS section.
Puzzle solutions are also brilliant, and they have great suggestions on what to do with certain items. The guide is better than I thought it would be as I was disappointed with some of the others, but the guide is by far the better pick out of the two.
OVERALL:
Positive
+AMAZING MAPS
+VERY GOOD PUZZLE SOLUTIONS
+Actually tells you the difference between game modes
+Very in depth on secrets
+Good weapon strategies
+Is mor focused on conserving ammo
+Tells you how to get all six different endings!
Negative
-Where the hell is Chris? Small call outs to his game but not good enough
-A little bit disorganized but still readable
-Spoils the endings
Careless about Chris.......2002-06-23
Okay, so you just bought the remake of Resident Evil and are looking foward to kicking some zombies' rotting butts. Only one problem: where the heck do you go to get farther into the game? Well, this strategy guide should tell ya...If you're playing as Jill. The people who wrote this startegy guide should be ashamed. They forgot that it's a multiple character game. They show you what to do as if you were playing as Jill. Instead of writing two seperate strategies they just tride to slide some of Chris' here and there. If you want to get through the game as Chris, definately DO NOT buy this strategy guide, go with the other one by Brady Games.
Great Players Guide.......2002-05-14
This players guide is very easy to use, and contains a lot of information on the game. The sealed section is really useful (only I wished they included a picture of the Tyrant somewhere in the book) The poster that is included with it is decent in size (almost regular poster size) and the book is just phenomenal! it's a MUST get if you want a players guide for this game (which too is phenominal, but we won't get into that!) :-P

Customer Reviews:
Not the greatest..........2003-06-14
I actually never needed this guide much. The explanations were a little confusing, and it made me wanna sell my game (which I did). Want my honest opinion? Look for some online guides. It's free and will do better.
one of the best guides prima has to offer.......2003-05-21
This guide is the only guide that I've read that has everything a guide should have. It has an enemy, weapon, item and character index and it doesn't give away the ending of the game. It tells you what herbs to mix and the result of mixing them. It tells you where to find the weapons and their ammo. The maps are also very well done. They tell you where to find herbs, weapons/ammo, and save points. This guide also tells you what attacks the enemies have and it gives you strategies for defeating each monster. The only thing that they didn't have was a map for Evil Claire in the minigame you get to play after you beat the game(can't remember name of minigame).
useful guide.......2002-07-28
I would get this guide if you are stuck on some parts. It has lots of cool information like weapons and items. It also has a sealed secret section. It is a complete stradagy guide
Helpful as far as Walkthroughs go, Terrible Errors though.......2002-07-20
Good Guide with terrible misconceptions about certain things in the game.
The best guide ever.......2002-04-19
In this guide I found my dream book. it has everything I could possibly want, Weapons, enemy list and absolutely NO major plot spoiles!! I would recommend this book to anyone who has the game!!

Somewhat Entertaining...........2003-06-24
Being a fan of comic book art, video games, and zombies, I figured this graphic novel would be a unique treat... but I have mixed feelings. The art in this book is very nice and interesting, especially in the action sequences. It remains faithful to the game, in that the characters randomly find weapons, ammunition, puzzle keys, and herbs... although this adds to the choppy storytelling. Overall, the story is bland and uninteresting, much of it being told through Claire's non-stop self exposition. If you're a huge fan of the game and comic book art, you will probably enjoy this graphic novel. But, if you are looking to be engaged in a great zombie story you should look elsewhere.

Book Description
Dan Brown's thriller The Da Vinci Code has created an extraordinary controversy, with its sub-plots of the sacred feminine in religion, the bloodline of Christ, the legend of the Holy Grail, and the role of sects like Opus Dei within the church. This Rough Guide explores and explains the context of the novel, including: - How the early Christian Church `edited' The Bible, and drew on earlier religions. - What art historians make of Leonardo Da Vinci's symbolism in "The Last Supper" and other works. - The true history of the Holy Grail, the Priory of Sion, and the debate on Mary Magdalene and the bloodline of Christ. - Location guides to Da Vinci Code sites in Paris, Rome, Jerusalem, New York, London and Edinburgh. - Reviews of Da Vinci Code sources and a glossary of everything from the Templars to the Fibonaccci Sequence.
Whatever you think of Dan Brown's novel, this Rough Guide has the key to understanding its wider background.

Great Book.......2003-07-17
This book gives details to the inside thoughts of the character while being true to the game found on dreamcast and playstation 2...You can understand what the characters are thinking, and what their plans are.

When the world remembers Pope John Paul II, what themes from his papacy will come to mind? In this philosophical meditation, the Holy Father reflects on values he deems critical to the destiny of humankind, with freedom and the value of life underlying all others. Pope John Paul II's theological understanding of evil and suffering was forged in the crucible of Nazism and communism in his native Poland, as was his belief in the importance of cultural identity. He points out that "evil, in a realist sense, can only exist in relation to good, and in particular, in relation to God, the supreme Good," which underlies even the darkest moments in history with the promise of redemption and hope. His encounters with those dark moments lend credibility when he writes, "All human suffering, all pain, all infirmity contains within itself a promise of salvation, a promise of joy…"
He champions freedom, yet cautions the faithful that when freedom in no longer linked with the truth, it sets the premise for "dangerous moral consequences." The West must overcome its moral permissiveness, he exhorts, listing divorce, free love, abortion, contraception, euthanasia, and genetic engineering as evidence of its degeneration. He also issues a plea for the church, a repository of historical memory, to remember its primary mission: to proclaim the Gospel.
The world will remember Pope John Paul II for espousing many of the convictions he expresses here: that good is ultimately victorious, life conquers death, and love triumphs over hate. --Cindy Crosby

Contra the CULTURE of DEATH.......2007-07-09
In a short,easily readable(compared with Von Balthazar& Ratzinger)
conversational essay,Pope John Paul II discusses the essence of Humanity's
unending(until The Eschaton)battle between GOOD & EVIL.Framed in the 20th Century against the anti-God(therefore:anti-human)TOTALITARIANS,mankind's war is now against THE CULTURE of DEATH,subtended by IDEOLOGIES of EVIL (chapt~2,pp5-15).The former conflict(against Nazi & Communist slave state progenitors)comprised utter crushing of Freedom. The PM Culture of Death (subtended by thinkers like Nietzsche & Heidegger)is more subtle and insidious in warring against man by using false notions of Freedom and "existential" autonomy against himself and his children in the name of freedom and human rights. C.S.Lewis discussed this war in his profound ABOLITION of MAN.The nature of this war is ONTOLOGICAL rather than "political". The God-given essence of humanity(mythically defined in Book of Genesis;and theo-anthropologically comprised in the term LOGOS/Logos as "man made in God's Image & likeness)is under assault: Men(and women)assert authority over who is worthy to live(47,000,000 babies killed by abortion in the US;millions of girl infants killed in China and India);as well as redefining fundamental societal relationality (ie:trashing of traditional family and marriage for Homosexual constructs).GOD'S grace vs men's self-apotheosis in WILL TO POWER are the weaponry in ultimate conflict of humanity against Itself and The Creator. The Pope concludes~"There is no evil from which God cannot draw forth a greater good. There is no suffering which he cannot transform into a path leading to Him."(p 167)But what further costs will be demanded since God has already sacrificed His Own Son? Take & read...
a little short of a diamond.......2005-10-10
I would normally have seen this as a great book had it been written by a person other than a Pope. But, compared to other books I've read that have been written by Pontiffs it fell a little short of my expectations. One might consider the other side of the "John Paul Coin" - Albino Luciani or John Paul I - the valiant champion of basic human dignity for women, the handicapped. the remarried, orphans, homosexuals and others whose everyday lives are scorned by doctrine. Two good men - yet, two very different sides of a coin - John Paul II the conservative side and John Paul I the liberal side. I would suggest a peek at Lucien Gregoire's PAUPER WHO WOULD BE POPE - the only existing complete biography of John Paul I
A Book to be Read in any time in History.......2005-10-01
"Conversations at the Dawn Of the Millenium,"is a book to be read and savored,at any time in History. It covers the rise of Christianity in Europe, going back to the early disciples of
Christian thought.
Much is devoted to the Popes native land of Poland. Both the
Nazi's and the Communists set out to destroy the culture of
John Paul's native land.Poland was a Western nation,as was
Czechoslovakia.Their religions and culture was Western.
Although, people growing up in the the 21st Century, saw many
of these countries as satellites of Russia, such was not the case for the people who lived in them. They stuggled to protect
their identidies, which were being eroded in this century.
Pope John Paul ll,lived through the Nazi invasion. He saw the
Jewish ghettoes and the persecutions within the walls. When
the Nazi's left, they were overrun by the Communist Russians.
Through all this, he witnessed the evil of their ideologies.
Their taking away of the indivual's human basic rights
I enjoyed reading about the philosophies in this book of
Wisdom.
All of the books, written simply for the public, explain a true legacy of love toward humankind and his great forgiving
soul.
Also, I wanted to mention"Crossing the Threshold of Hope"
written in 1994 and a best seller.
These two books, have so much in them, they could be compared to a work of Art.You feel you must return and learn and reflect
more. Each time there will be something you did not grasp before, but you do after a second reading. The Pope at a young age witnessed much suffering.Yet his optimimism regarding the human race and individualism was infectious.
I look forward to reading more of his wisdom. He surely had one of the most brilliant minds of the past century and shared it with us whether we be of the Christian Faith or not.The Pope saw the dignity of every person created.John Paul ll was truly 'the people's Pope.
Fascinating.......2005-09-17
Really fascinating, in-depth book by the late Pope John Paul II. Hard to put down once you get started and certain sections you'll want to read over and over again. Excellent book from a deeply spiritual and insightful man.
Do You Remembre Who You Are?.......2005-08-01
In this book, the pope opined a message of peace and hope in the salvation of humankind. Today I attended (as a visitor -- I am Methodist) Concord First Baptist Church, and they not only preach it, they live it. Here I was thinking that Knoxville, my hometown, was so bad and that wonderful ministry is just to the west of us near Farragut.
John Paul II reigned as the leader of the Catholic church for more than 25 years. He has counseled political leaders on a philosophical level, and yet his books have stuck with the religious realm. He was welcomed and revered everywhere he went, and is sorely missed. He became one of the most influential political figures in the world, traveling to each and every country preaching the gospel, using this mantra: Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
He was a deeply compassionate man of God and not only spoke 'kindly' but lovingly. This, the last book he finished before his death, is a historical meditation about freedom and its limits. He has warned the leaders of all denoninations of the dangers of the growing trend in atheism.
It was conducted in the form of a question-and-answer discussion. He not only delved into consumerism and materialism, he speaks about the ideas of homeland and nation and gives his views on our democracy system in America. He and the Dahlai Lama have consistently tried to instill in us commoners who read books the reason we are on this earth, to help each other and to grow in Christ.
The title of this book, MEMORY AND IDENTITY, appealed to me as a person I know declared that I have an identity problem. He had me convinced that I must have Alheimer's disease until the problem was cleared up in a minor miracle with two bus drivers as witnesses. Then I knew that he was just leading me on.
This book will help anyone who is struggling with his/her faith.
