good idea, but didn't follow through........2006-11-10
I was excited when I first got this book. I loved the organized layout, how I could pick my purpose - say, organization - flip right to it, and there's a bunch of suggestions for my spell.
That's where this book flopped, though. Hardly any of the information is useful. Many of the items in the "props/focals" sections would be very difficult to obtain. The book also speaks of the timing of different spells, often in terms of moon position, like "Moon in Pisces." Nowhere in the book, though, does it give a chart or even a link to a website where the reader could go to find out this information. Also, the sample spells were overly complicated and ceremonial. Definitely not "magic for everyday life," as the cover proclaims. The only truly useful bit of this book was the introduction, which was well written and informative. It gave background and history to spellcraft, as well as advice on how to practice safely and independently.
However, a good introduction should not be the sole basis of your purchase. As a whole, this book is not worth it.
Great Book.......2001-09-18
She did it again , This was a great book . I love the way she writes , I own Goddess in my pocket also a great book to have.
the best spell book there is.......2000-06-08
this book is better than any other spell book i have ever seen it gives ideas for spells and a sample spell for many topics. the first part of the book tells you what goes into a spell and how to creat your own,it has an excellent appendix that has objects and its corresdonces. it even has simple objects in it like candy wrapper. i highly reccomend this.
I like it.......2000-03-31
I like this book quite a bit - i am an intermediate witch and i found this book very helpful - it is orginized by topic and is very neat and easy to use. I recomend it!
Spinning Spells, weaving wonders.......2000-03-14
I'm learning how to became a wich. I saw a lot of books but this was the best one I ever readen before. But the book was not myn, it was of a friend of my so that's why I want to review it.
Customer Reviews:
i LOVE this book!.......2007-02-05
This book is awesome! It is the perfect book for the Wicca teen. I strongly recommend it for any teen trying to get together their BOS. There is also a really cool section that lists the different forms of divination. Love it!
Not what I expected.......2006-03-09
Even though it wasn't up to what I was expecting it is still a great little book for the beginner. Easy to read and full of information.
MUY BUENO!.......2005-07-28
this is the first book on Wicca i ever bought and it taught me so much. its greta for beginners who arent sure where to start or people who want to understand The Craft a little more. with everything from explanations of what a Book of Shadows is and what kidns of stuff to put in it to what Wiccans believe and tips for talking to your parents about it, this book is awesome.
FInally a book that treats teens like real people.......2005-06-23
not once does this author talk down to Teens (which leads me to believe the last reviewer was just plain lazy - there's nothing here that's difficult to read, that doesn't make sense, or poorly written... unless of course you were looking for Charmed style magick in a book).
I, for one, am thankful to have been given good ideas on how to deal with parents (this hasn't been easy for me or many of my friends). I'm also thankful that when adults look at this book, they don't see unintelligent rants on turning your boyfriend into a toad (no matter how much the guy might deserve it).
Telesco has given Teens a tome with which to grow and move forward in responsible ways, and not made a lot of errors previous writers have made when dealing with the teen market. Thank YOU!
could be good..........2005-05-14
I think it actually could be good, if it wasn't such a boring language. some parts I liked and some parts I didn't even read. it contains some good things... and a lot of blah. in my room, it's just standing, collecting dust. but maybe that's just me... I'm too lazy to read books which are badly-written.
blessed be
and sorry if I was too bitchy

Product Description
Read what teens are asking and saying about life, love, and relationships. Questions cover topics such as sexuality, guys, girls, kissing, dating, relationships, friends, self-esteem, and more. Answers are based on professional expertise, research, and common sense. Teens also offer their own perspective and insight in the
Teen-to-Teen responses.
Beyond the Spell for Teens is fun; it's entertaining; it's serious.
Here's what other readers are saying:
I never had a boring moment. I loved it and I learned many things that I never knew before. Every question that I've ever had about dating was addressed in the book. Zach Tanner, USA
This book is absolutely positive for parents and teens and a valuable resource . . . this is a great support for parents to understand teen perspectives on various issues and to use in discussions with teens . . . This is one of those books that every teen should have in their library just to grab and flick to the relevant pages as events occur. Liz Witehira, New Zealand
I smiled a lot because all of the stuff is true. Loved it, I would read it every day. It answered a lot of questions. Steve Halling, USA
As a youth leader, I felt that sensitive topics in the sexuality section were addressed in a tasteful and appropriate way. I would certainly recommend teens [and parents] read this. It would be interesting for parents as well to see what teens are asking. Anyone concerned about improving themselves would benefit from reading this book. Tracie Burnett, USA
This book was very interesting, especially the teen-to-teen sections. I learned so much from it, I didnt know how into it I was until I looked at my phone clock and it said that it was 12:36 in the morning!!! Justin Mace, USA
Customer Reviews:
A must-have reference for teens!.......2005-10-03
This one won't collect dust!! Beyond the Spell contains clear answers to questions that teens really want to know but are usually too embarrassed or afraid to ask. Klayne and Verena Rasmussen's fun and energetic style compliments their common-sense approach to tackling a wide array of sensitive topics that are important to teens. This book is loaded with great advice, encourages better communication, higher self-esteem, age-appropriate relationship help with a refreshing moral backdrop. Truly a go-to book that will be used over and over again. Any teen who reads this book can't help but feel better about themselves!
Beyond the spell.......2005-09-28
Beyond the spell is the best book i have ever read, i was up until 1 in the morning and i never even noticed, the teen to teen sections inside reallt hit home, and let you know what the oposite gender thinks.
It's a really great book and i would really challenge everyone any age or gender to read this.
Why didn't anyone do this sooner?.......2005-08-10
I recently graduated from high school and as I read this book, I found myself wondering, "Why didn't anyone write this when I was in seventh grade?!" Beyond the Spell does what few teens would ever do on their own...brings guys and girls together to talk about those embarrassing questions that we all have but would never dare ask. It's all in there...from 'why do girls go to the bathroom in groups' to 'how can I tell if he likes me as more than a friend.' The format of the book is great, too. There is a careful balance between the professional expertise and the teen-to-teen advice, so you will find yourself laughing outloud and learning at the same time. I still don't have guys (or myself) figured out, but Beyond the Spell definitely answered my questions.

Cool Stories.......2006-04-08
Love MZB and her anthologies. If you like this and Sword & Sorceress series you will also like "Chicks in Chain Mail" and "Did You Say Chicks?"
Another bradley anthology!.......2001-03-02
Another bradley anthology, with all the quality one would expect. Authors like: Laurell K. Hamilton (before Anita Blake was well known), Dorothy J. Heydt (of many MZB anthologies-Darkover/Sword and Sorceress/Marion Zimmer Bradley's Fantasy Magazine), Deborah Wheeler (Darkover/Sword and Sorceress/Warrior Enchantresses/Witch Fantastic), and many others. In any anthology edited by MZB you will find new authors you ahve never heard of and well as famous ones. One has to remember MZB loved to give "breaks" to unknown authors...in point of fact she gave breaks to many famous author, the most currently prominant is Mercedes Lackey. I bleieve I also read articles that she gave the first big breaks to Diana L. Paxson (this I cannot independentely confirm), Deborah Wheeler (pseudonym of Deborah J. Ross), and many others. This anthology remains one of my favorites from MZB.
