Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Miss Them.......2005-11-06
The Birthright world is no more, and none of the 5 books written are still in print. While I didn't enjoy them all, I did like this book. It sets up the world and politics nicely, and gives you a chance to see what the Birthright universe is all about. It is still a good read along with the sequel and last Birthright book War.
The Iron Throne Falls Short.......2002-06-25
While at times this book had my complete attention, in the end I found that the story left a lot to be desired. Though there were some rather intriguing lead ups to supposed important characters in the story, Hawke failed to follow through on them. I expected an extremely important role to be played by this Gorgon character that is mentioned quite often, but he is handled quite lamely. There, also, is more than enough background to keep you bogged down and expecting a point to it. Most of the time the story seems more like a history lesson of Cerilia. There are rare occasions of rather enjoyable story lines, and in the end a quite interesting battle sequence, but even that ends in a pretty stupid way. Overall a pretty crappy story from somebody who has a MA in English and actually teaches SciFi and Fantansy writing.
A slowly developing novel with an incredible ending.......2002-05-24
"The Iron Throne", the first of five books set in the Birthright gaming world, is a book that requires patience on the part of the reader. The book begins in an intriguing manner, mainly the abduction of a prominent character and the beginnings of a civil war. The long running civil war is the central theme in this novel.
A select few in the war torn empire all try to achieve the title of emperor upon the death of the current, aging emperor. The one direct descendent is missing and another takes over the role as emperor. Once the descendent is found alive, another round of the civil war begins. The result has a lasting effect on the empire. The background of the nation is overly detailed and not absolutely essential to the central story. Once the civil war begins, the book accelerates at a rapid pace.
After the civil war, a former human named Raesene but now transformed monster named the Gorgon, has his own plans for the empire. Once the Gorgon starts employing members of the empire to achieve his desires, another war soon ensues. The Gorgon also causes some internal strife among major players within the empire.
The ending, while a bit surprising, is presented well and does leave the door open for a sequel. The sequel, "War", was the last of the Birthright books published by TSR. All of the Birthright books are out of print. If you are a fan of historical, civil war fantasy and are a patient reader, "The Iron Throne" would be a worthwhile read.
Birthright.......2001-12-17
Birthright was one of the first books I read as an aside to my favorite hobby rpgs. It was successful in passing some time and providing a little inspiration about bloodlines, but other than that, it was only memorable because I read it three or four times.
Ugh........2001-11-13
This novel tells the story of Michael Roele, last direct descendant of Roele, champion of Anduiras, brother to the new god Haelyn, and Emperor of Anuire.
Unfortunately, it doesn't tell it well.
Our main viewpoint character is Aedan Dosiere, the playmate of Michael Roele, who is to grow up to be his high chamberlain. We see how the Archduke Boeruine treacherously betrays him, leading to an 8-year civil war, and how Michael's sister, Laera, turns to darkness in a manner that will lead to the destruction of the empire at the hands of its greatest threat, the Gorgon.
This could have been a great novel. However, several things stand in the way. First, the writing, especially the dialogue, is quite clumsy.
Secondly, the author apparently skimmed the background material and barely paid any attention to anything outside of Anuire; among other things, he confused the Rjurik (Celticy Vikings) and Brecht (Hanseatic League Germans) with the Vos (Russian/Mongol hybrids), and discussed awnshegh that weren't in the setting at the time (such as the Raven).
Thirdly, one could hear the dice rolling. However, they didn't roll evenly; physical combat was blessedly free of gaming discussions, but magic, even AD&D 2nd edition magic, has been handled much better in other novels.
I wanted to like this novel. Really, I did. Birthright is my favorite campaign setting. However, this would almost be enough to make me forswear any more novels in the series. Good thing I'm borrowing them.

Book Description
"The author’s analysis is very up-to-date, for he includes chapters on very recent analyses of teams, such as questions of diversity and teams-communicating-via-computers…. The book’s key strength is its aim to help students and professionals better understand the groups to which they belong by reviewing key concepts in the area of groups."
--Donelson R. Forsyth, Virginia Commonweath University
Group Dynamics for Teams provides a clear and concise overview of group dynamics as it relates to work teams. The book is designed to be a bridge between psychological research on how groups operate and the applied study of the use of teams at work, with the ultimate goal of teaching people how to work effectively in teams. The book begins with an overview of how teams are being used at work and the factors that relate to team success. The second section of the book examines basic group dynamics topics, such as goals, norms, cooperation, and communication. The third section reviews the main challenges that teams face, including conflict, decision-making, problem solving, creativity, and valuing diversity. The final section analyzes the use of teams in the workplace, including the impact of organizational culture, technological support for teams, differences among types of work teams, and team building. Each chapter contains learning objectives, summaries, and activities intended to help understand how teams operate. The book has an applied focus that is designed to help students and professionals improve their abilities to work in teams.

Outstanding theory based book on Team Dynamics.......2007-01-19
This book is outstanding! Full of great theories that can be bridged to real life experiences. Was the source of key information during our class on Work Groups & Teams in Organizations. I would recommend this book to anyone who is trying to form a cohesive team in their organization.
A Good Introductory Book.......2006-01-20
It covers a breadth of various topics in Group Dynamics. It doesn't go into too much depth though but it suffices in getting the reader's feet wet on the subject.

Customer Reviews:
Practical, thorough tool that helps Churches a lot.......2005-10-25
We have used this tool since it came out. I've found that this tool is best for easily organizing the 'how to' stuff of small group leadership. It does not cover the ministerial philosophy issues. A good book for that is 'Master Plan of Evangelism' by Robert Coleman.
As the title for this book says, it covers nine keys for effective small group leadership. Each key really has four or five sub points...so in reality it is nine times about five...or forty five keys if you will. But George has organized them into nine groups...or keys.
We've found that leaders who study this material are easier to work with and easier to build a vision with for a local church ministry. There are a lot of books on Small Group Leadership that will help you. This one is very practical. It's so well written you can use it even if all you do is read the paragraph headers. Everything is well explained and easy to find or follow.
So even for leaders who don't like to read or who you suspect will not read everything you ask them to read, this book still might get through to them. I recommend it as a curriculum text for a course in a local church/ministry for leading small groups.
Enjoy it!
Nine Keys More than enough.......2002-09-27
Carl George effectively communicates the essential basics. This book does a good job of highlighting the difference between being a facilitator of small group time and being a leader (someone who is a disciple-maker). I have used this book as the main text for training small group leaders. It provides great material for interactive discussion and presenting a wholistic picture of all that small groups can be.
Best book on Small Groups.......2001-11-15
The best two things about this book are: 1) it helps the small group leader coordinate with the pastor, and 2) it includes shepherding, building community, discipleship and evangelism as part of the small group experience. It is the best balanced book available today!
This is the book on small groups that I hand out to pastors.......2000-04-22
I am a small-groups person. I have been in one small group or another, often as a leader, almost continually, for the past 30 years. I believe small groups are just about the most important aspect of a church's life.
I have read many books on this, gone to many seminars. There is a lot of good material on this topic.
But in my present role as a church consultant, this is the book on small groups that I hand to pastors who are wanting to know how to grow a small group ministry or how to better equip their small group leaders.
Why? As George explains in this book, most church small groups do a good job of promoting nurture and fellowship, but most stop there. George believes an effective small group should perform three basic functions, not just nurture. In addition to nurture, he believes small groups should be effectively engaged in small-group-based evangelism (George says that in any given year, only one small group in four does any evangelism), and he thinks that small groups should constantly be training small group leaders through apprenticeship. I agree that a small group needs all three functions. And so I use this book as the entry point for someone who is new to these ideas about small group life.
After this introduction, I point churches to further training or more in-depth printed materials about various aspects of this approach to small groups, but in my opinion, there's not a better starting point than this one.
Must-read for small-group leaders.......1999-09-20
Read anything you can find by Carl George. I believe God is using him to impact the way church will be "done" in the 21st Century
Book Description
This book is about increasing team performance. It focuses on building system dynamics models when tackling a mix of interrelated strategic problems to enhance team learning, foster consensus, and create commitment. The book is intended to be applied in the organizations of today. As the "command and control" organization evolves into one of decision-making teams, so these teams have become the critical building blocks upon which the performance of the organization depends. The team members face an increased complexity of decision making with the interrelation of several strategic problems. What this means is that people have different views of the situation and will define problems differently. However, research shows that this can in fact be very productive if and when people learn from each other in order to build a shared perspective. Learning in this way might prove to be the only sustainable competitive advantage for organizations in the future. As a result, team leaders want to create "learning teams" and are confronted with issues such as how to:
- create a situation where people doubt their ideas rather than stubbornly cling to dearly held views
- create a learning atmosphere rather than trying to "win" the discussion
- create a shared understanding of a problem in a team
- foster consensus and create commitment with a strategic decision
- facilitate Group Model Building
Those who will benefit most from Group Model Building: Facilitating Team Learning Using System Dynamics are those who are familiar with systems thinking or organizational learning, or those who are working in groups and are coming up against the common difficulties.

Book Description
This brief, readable book is designed to introduce a new team-building model called Team Resource Management (TRM) and serves as a guide for experiential learning events based on the Tavistock tradition. Using examples from popular culture and industry case studies, this Primer deepens understanding of group behavior by exploring the application of concepts such as leadership, management, authority, role, task, boundaries and teamwork in high-risk teams.
Although all organizations have complex dynamics that influence performance, high-risk teams have unique characteristics. Yet, little research has been conducted about how high-risk groups manage teams under stress. This book fills this gap, exploring how professionals in high-risk fields can increase awareness of the dynamics of authority relations, the act of authorizing, and the interdependent nature of leadership, while learning how to manage anxiety in stressful situations.
Book Description
This practical model helps teams understand the phases of team development and how to plan for the next step on the road to success.
Book Description
Never Underestimate the Power of an Effective Team As today's businesses increasingly structure work around teams, it's more important than ever for students to understand group processes. Through the research summaries and case studies of this text, students will learn valuable theory and develop a rich picture of teams in action. Blending theory and practice in areas such as team design, team social processes, and team effectiveness provides them with a realistic view of how teams function in actual work organizations. The combination of research and case examples also shows students how to help teams become more effective. Because key concepts are specifically presented in and applied to business settings, students can gain a real-world perspective of ways they can influence teams. They'll not only learn the complex issues associated with teams, but they'll not only learn the complex issues associated with teams, but they'll also develop tools to succeed as designers, leaders, and members. Special Features of the Text:
* Numerous examples are included to clearly illustrate important theoretical points.
* Theory and research is summarized in a non-technical style that is applied to situations familiar to students.
* Each unit includes a short scenario that provides students with the perspective of someone who is actually involved with teams in an organizational setting.
* Relationships between group theories and business goals (e.g., increasing profit, providing a motivating work environment) are discussed throughout.
