AMAZING!.......2007-09-04
Jeff Grubb is the best author in the Magic the Gathering Universe! The Brothers war and this series are so awesome! He really did a wonderfully spectacular job at finishing this series up. congrats should go to him. Needless to say if you liked the other 2 in the series you need this one as well.
Excellent book by an excellent author.......2007-08-12
This series is a great read. If you like MTG books in general, this one will not disappoint.
Great End to the Cycle.......2006-12-13
Man, what a trilogy. Once I started the Gathering Dark, a week later I had finished the entire cycle. This book was great and wrapped everything up quite nicely. The ending sets up the next book as well and makes me want to keep reading the Magic novels.
good, 4.6 maybe.......2001-12-17
this was a good book to say the least. while i did not like loosing sima from the dark, jaya was a nice replacement. mr. grubb did not do a very good job on who lim-dul was possessing. =D this book though had one of the best duels i have ever read. lots of detail in the mental mansion idea, the mental mansion idea was one of my favorite idea's in magic. this book though, had a good balance of going to the different parts of the world. going back to tresserhorn to express the darkness, the part of the world that is still frozen. going to the school of the unseen, to show the development of the world, the foremost place of magic development. going to soldev (i think) to show the artifact reliant people. it worked out well. i think the best part in the book, by far is the jodah- lim dul fight. the giant jaya, kinda wierd, but okay. whats nice is that lim dul knew about jodahs mirror, made a strategy around it. im done.
go forth, wreak havoc
Breathtaking.......2001-06-19
This was surely the best book since the Gathering Dark. I loved the end and how they rapped up Jodah's life and how they concluded the Ice Age. It was an amazing book that I will never forget. All three books have been the best books I've ever read, and I can assure you that I've read MANY books.

Only for Professionals!.......2003-11-22
While this book must be a well-written professional work on its topic, I found most of this book a bit too dry and scholarly to be of interest to the average reader like myself.
Still, it does contain otherwise hard to find information on the modern society of the Tanimbar Islands (especially of the Fordatan ethnic group) of Southeast Maluku.

Book Description
A single bullet pierces a muggy summer evening sky in Dayton, a small town set in the midst of the majestic Green Mountains of Vermont. Its intended target, Rachel Gates, is a seemingly average citizen, except for her connections to the drug lord José Tahs. The bullet is meant to silence her before she can reveal what she knows. The assassination attempt fails as Special Agent Andrew Brown stops the killers before they destroy his one lead to Tahs. Several days before Christmas, a double murder announces the arrival of José Tahs. Andrew Brown, the top FBI agent in the country, calls an emergency meeting where he explains why he believes the town is in great danger. For Christmas, Tahs has planned the largest drug drop of the century to take place in Dayton. Tahs is out to fulfill a personal vendetta and he challenges his arch-nemesis to try to stop him. Andrew gladly accepts the challenge. Andrew finds himself chasing José Tahs in a world of drugs, deceit and deception as the town he has lived in the past two years becomes a town he no longer knows. As he delves further into the case in an attempt to save lives and save face, Andrew discovers exactly how much power José Tahs has. Thrust into a world where people are not always what they seem, survival comes at a steep price.

Awesome Suspense, mystery, and romance.......2007-07-16
The minute I got to the ghost part, I was freaked out. This was a very intriguing book from beginning to end. This was one of the best books that i've read from her. It was full of Suspense, mystery, and romance with a twist of merging between different worlds/times. I couldn't put it down!
IT'S GREAT!!!!.......2007-04-23
Another great book by Nora Roberts!!!! When I first started reading the book and got to the ghost part...I though oh no! But, it was written so well and so intriguing, I couldn't put it down. What a different story line!!! I loved it!
Sweet Story.......2007-04-11
I loved this book, I prefer ghost stories and this is one of my favorites. I loved the twist and I'll leave it at that so as not to spoil this book. Just a great book, sweet storyline, and very beautiful descriptions of the land, the house, and the people. Very good read.
A Romance About A Man.......2007-03-28
I think one of the things I like most about Nora Roberts is the way she portrays men. Somehow, though she makes them romantic, they are still... guys.
This is the story of Declan, a guy who was a lawyer, in Boston, of "the" Boston Fitzgeralds, engaged to be married. Then he decides that he does not love his fiancee, pretty much hates his job, and needs a BIG change.
He comes to see that he had been making decisions based on what his family wanted for him.
He buys an old run-down mansion in the deep south. It's complete with ghosts and cool neighbors. He remodels the house through the book, solves a 100 year old mystery, and wins the girl (no spoiler there, I'm sure).
And though he loves the heroine long before she loves him, though he questions his own sanity with the whole haunting thing, he is never less than a very strong, male man.
Great summer read!!!

Bad.......2007-03-09
Ghost stories can be fun and exciting. This was boring and weird. I admitt I don't understand re-encarnation at all and find stories where the hero and heroine are "reborn" or take over other people's bodies rather creepy. But I thought if anyone could sale me on the story it would be Nora Roberts. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to. First off the good/twin bad twin seemed like too low of a cliche for Nora Roberts to stoop too. All thrown together maded for a very boring and weird story.

As good as "Amber Beach" and "Pearl Cove".......2007-10-01
I was hooked on the Donovan's after "Amber Beach". After I read "Jade Island" I was ready to walk away. I am so glad I didn't. "Midnight at Rubhy Bayou" takes a little twist away from the ordinary dangers the Donovan family faces by adding a little of the supernatural. It really is a great read.
5 Stars good book .......2007-01-28
Very good book higlhy recommend buying it. Dissappointed that shes not writing stories for Justin and Lawe the last two donovan brothers that are twins I might have to boycott buying her books until she comes out with stories for the last two Donovans.
Amazing.......2006-02-19
Lowell just doesn't let her readers down with the lovable Donovan clan. Recommendation: Start with "Amber Beach" and then work your way to this one. See her complete book list and the order in which they go at: www.elizabethlowell.com
You'll be Reading This One Long After Midnight....It's That Good,Sugar!.......2006-01-17
This is the 4th book in EL's Donovan series, and like the other 3 this is a book that is hard to put down. It has plenty of action and the relationship between Faith Donovan and Owen Walker is developed slowly but tantalizing enough to keep you turning pages to see what will happen next between them. I liked Owen a lot. I don't think it mattered that he was a less educated and a smaller man than the other heros in the first three novels, namely Kyle, Jake, and Archer. He was just as smart, just as intelligent, just as sexy, just as honorable, and just as deadly. It says a hell of lot when Archer Donovan trusts you to take care of his little sister. Archer's trust was not misplaced as we find out in the development of the story as he comes to Faith's aid again and again. One of my most favorite scenes was when he met up with Faith's obnoxious and much larger ex-boyfriend. It was hilarious and very well written.
As far as heroines go, Faith was somewhat lacking when compared with the other Donovans. However, she was intelligent, gifted, and sweet; not quite a hot head as her other siblings. However, I think that rich girl Faith did very well for herself with Owen. A guy that put her needs first, in and out of the bedroom. Cudos to EL for bringing us a heroine who needs a little help in achieving fulfillment in the bedroom. After all, I think that most women do.
Why this one didn't get 5 stars you may ask? Mostly, because I didn't like the way EL ended the love story between Faith and Owen. Owen felt very strongly about being reponsible for others; also, I think that he had some reservations about his much lower socio-economic background. I would have liked EL to take them back home and let us in on some real soul searching for Owen before he came to the conclusion that he was ready for being responsible for a wife and family. The rest of the Donovan guys could have helped him along. It would have been a perfect ending to an otherwise great story.
Exciting and Enjoyable..........................2004-12-25
Had to read this book after reading Pearl Cove and enjoying yummmmmmmmy Archer Donovan and his love Hannah. Faith Donovan the youngest sister and jewelry designer and Owen Walker best friend and Ruby expert goes with Faitn Donovan to the Bayous for her best friends wedding and to present her a beautiful Ruby Necklace. But, the Heart of Midnight a giant ruby is lost and a Russian is trying to find it and murder anyone who gets in his way and Faith may be next. I really enjoyed this one. I would like her to write about their twin brothers and the Emerald trade, but I highly doubt it. Looking forward to reading Color in Death by her and all about Sapphires. Read this book it's highly recommend.
