I must admit I got this simply because I have 1&2 but when I started it....oooh weeee! It was a good read to say the least. This twins aint no joke and can hang with the best of them. Althoug I enjoyed all the stories Alisha Yvonne and Thomas Long's the best! Now, will their be a ATWG's 4? I hope so-go out and get this you won't be dissapointed.

I have read around the way girls part one, two, and three and I can say that Part III is what's happen. The author can not keep it no real than what it is. Thats one of the goodiest book I have read this year. If you are from the street you can relate and understand it is what it is. But you have to walk their shoes and crawl their crawl or you wouldn't understand the around the way girls. If you like adventures and excitement this is the book to read so if you do not have it yet you need to purchase now. Keeping it real.

I have not gotten to the third set of twins yet, but the frist two were excellent. I had a hard time putting the book down trying to figure out what was going to happen next. I knew it was going to be good because I own Around the Way Girls 1,and 2.

I enjoyed "Around the Way Girls 3". I must admit on the real I liked the first 2 better. But this one still kept me hooked. All the stories were about twin sisters. Alisha Yvonne ( who is one of favorite authors) short story about the Cane sisters, was my fave. Alisha got a little gangsta, but it was all good. I also enjoyed Thomas Long's story and Pat Tucker's.

This book is so ghetto. I brought this under the premonition that it would be a sequel to Around The Way Girl, by April Hunter, but it sure enough had nothing whatsoever to do with the first book. It was a good ghetto book but the title made me very upset. I wish I could get a refund!!!!!!!!!!

This was definitaly betta than the first one. Juicy doesn't care what her kids do, what she does around them, or what they do with their life. As long as she gets money, and they don't hate on her game. Precious had it all, until her mother and father got hooked on drugs. Now she's boostn til she can't stop. Lyric has had her heart broken twice. She trusts no man and plays them all the same. Her father and mother are the only two people she feels know true love. She becomes friends with Alicia and that's where her life changes.

I don't care what anybody has to say these are three of the best authors around. LaJill never disappoints,Thomas did very well, and Kashamba,Kashamba,Kashamba put not just her foot in this novel but her whole DANG body. Kashamba threw it down with Juicy Brown. Although some of Juicy's parenting ways I did not agree with she still was a fo' sho' Around the way girl who would lay down her life for her children. I was feeling Juicy so much that all my reading friends bought copies of this book just to read about Juicy. People in the hood may talk about a person of Juicy's caliber but one can't help but respect her. I hope to see a novel expanding on Juicy as well as LaJill's character's Alicia the scandalous one and Lyric. Trust you won't waste your money on this read.

I suggest you borrow this book from a friend than going to actually buy one.
A Cool Collection and a Fast Read.......2005-08-19
Back in 1990 rapper LL Cool J dedicated a rhyme to the "around the way girl." You remember her, the one at the bus stop sucking on a lollipop. Now, more than ten years later we're learning more about the "cuties from the neighborhood" in the fiction release titled Around the Way Girls. This compilation of three short stories takes readers on a journey through the mean streets of Brooklyn and into the lives of three around the way girls.
First, in "Busted and Disgusted" author Angel Hunter introduces readers to Cream, who has had to grow up fast after her mother's death. Cream is a stripper who would love to trade in her stiletto heels and skimpy outfits for a more respectable lifestyle, but it just doesn't seem possible. Plus, she just can't shake a particular bad habit-- her son's father Wise, a known drug dealer. Her friend Amber comes up with a brilliant plan that could mean thousands of dollars and a way for their dreams to come true. But when the plan snags, life rapidly changes leaving Cream busted, disgusted and betrayed.
While this story is touching, it has been done before. The ending seemed almost abrupt. But if you love urban fiction, you'll love this story regardless.
"Southern Comfort" by La Jill Hunt is by far the most interesting. After unwillingly moving to Brooklyn with her mother, brother and sister, Sydni has been missing Atlanta ever since and vows to return. She's a southern girl at heart, but she's confident and doesn't take any mess from anyone, especially Darrius, her brother Aaron's new best friend. When Aaron is killed, her world turns upside down. Her sister becomes more promiscuous than ever before. Her mom's boyfriend can't be trusted and a white guy who's strictly a friend suddenly professes his undying love.
The plot in this story is intriguing. The author added a suspenseful twist and a dramatic ending, which make for a great read.
Rounding out the three stories is Dwayne Joseph's "Played." Angel Santiago, is a Puerto Rican party girl who thinks she knows it all and has total control of her life. Any given night of the week you can find her at a night club getting drunk with her friends Shanice, Ray and Stevie. A night of partying leaves her intoxicated and feeling the music and the next thing she knows she's in bed with two other women. She suspects she's been drugged by Frido, the drug kingpin that had been eyeing her at the club. Although she has vowed never to date a drug dealer, something about Frido draws her to him like a magnet. Hopefully, she won't get played.
With believable characters, a splash of erotica and hints of violence, Played is definitely entertaining. If you love short stories and you're looking for a fast-paced read, pick up Around the Way Girls.

I thought this book was OK. It could have been alot better. I didn't think the stories were all that interesting. I only finished it because I don't like starting a book and not finishing it. The last story was the best to me. The other two just seemed rushed and unrealistic. They also stated that these chicks lived in Crown Heights. I'm from the Heights born and raised and nothing was mentioned (street or land mark, nothing even a Chicken spot would have been a little more realistic) and these girls didn't speak like chicks from around the way "eee, cack off" anyone from around the way can interpret that, 1.

This book could have been better. I dont advise anyone to buy this, maybe borrow it. The front of the cover should have been a hint hint clue clue, but I bought it anyway. There are differnt srories going on and they are not to interesting. Once it begin to get interesting its drops back down to its low point. I have read better, but at the same token have read worse. If you are interested into thugged out book keep moving, if you wanna take your time than read this book because its gone take a min to get through it.

This 4th installment of Around the way Girls was pretty good, The authors did great with developing the characters and all the stories had a good plot and story line. I just wish that the stories were a little longer because once I really got into it, it was ending. If all these stories were individual novels it would have been even better!!!

The book starts off with a story by Dwayne S Joseph called All for Love.Rayne is thankful for all that her boo, Love has done for her but when Love finds out she's pregnant all hell breaks loose and the heartache and drama find its way back into Rayne's life.
The second story is by La Jill Hunt called Thug Passion.Talented artist Jovia Grant loses her mother to a fire and is adopted as a small child.She lives in a nice home in the suburbs and she is accepted into the summer art program where she rediscover old friends and meets new ones.Her family soon discovers she has been learning more than art.
The final story is by Roy Glenn called All About The Money.Jada West went from dancing at the best club to becoming the top Madame in her city.Whatever it took to make paper is what she was about.
I never got a chance to read ATWG3.To be quite honest I bought it and tried to read it but none of the stories quite grabbed me and I ended up giving it away since I wasn't gonna read it.Now ATWG4...We have authors who I'm familiar with and that was all the more reason why I bought the book.Each story, to me was good.I haven't read any good short stories in a while so reading this one, I was not disappointed.

I definitely would recommend everyone to go get this book. i had the opportunity to read the book before the release date. definitely a page turner and i like how all the characters tie to a character in another story. and how in "all for the money" there was a positive good ending. I loved it.

While I've enjoyed her later Malory novels better, this one still was very good and I'm glad I bought it. It completed my Malory collection and I don't regret buying any of them.

Before I say all the reasons I don't like this book, I'd like to point out that I'm sure its elements are appealing to some readers. We all like different things; I didn't like this one. I did finish it, but only because I have this thing about always finishing whatever I read. Lindsey relies on dialogue and action for this novel. Did I say action? Dear god, what with the beatings and kidnappings and running around, you get the sense that she's covering the complete lack of character development. The hero and heroine had all the usual qualities that romance heroes and heroines do, but they were just incredibly flat and cliched, as if their qualities had been randomly selected from a romance chart or phrase book and then inserted. I cared nothing for either of them, and found the hero to be weak and uninspiring. It was never clear why the characters liked each other; Lindsey never got into their heads. A weak attempt at the romantic historical.

I thought this book was just awful. A most ridiculous plot and very unsatisfying. I'm just as willing as the next person to suspend disbelief, but this book required too much. The hero and heroine have the most ridiculous interaction and a year of anger and bitterness with each other that miraculously "poof" everything becomes instantaneously happy at the end. No building of trust, no getting to know each other and become friends, almost no romance at all. I'll be skipping Lindsey's books in the future because this one just made me mad. There are many better historical romance writers out there.

Ms. Jernigan has once again written a well researched, captivating, exciting story. She has brought Elizabeth and Jonathan to life in a story that will warm your heart and soul, as well as other parts of your body. One minute you'll be reaching for your winter coat, the next wishing you were wearing a bikini. Jonathan can warm up my chilblains any day. Once you read it you'll know what I mean. I highly recommend this book. What a great way to start the new year. I can't wait for Ms. Jernigan's next book Dance On The Wind.
Plagued by problems with historical accuracy.......2001-12-15
I was intrigued by the plot and drawn in right from the beginning, but as I continued reading I found more and more historical inaccuracies that detracted from my enjoyment of the book. For one thing, there must be a reason why most authors of historical romance don't make REAL people characters in their books (other than cameo appearances). Jean Lafitte and Beau Brummell portrayed as nice people helping out a pair of lovers just didn't ring true. Why in heaven's name would Jean Lafitte appear in England so soon after helping the Americans in the war? And that goes for the hero too. He really was guilty of treason against England, and yet he had no hesitation returning to England. How, then, can he be so indignant at being arrested for treason?
Another big problem with this book is the apparent ease with which the heroine manages to give birth to an illegitimite child without being questioned by anyone. She mentions a couple of times that she plans to say she was widowed in the war if anyone questions her, but apparently nobody does in over two years. Nor does she even use a married name. Even a duke's daughter would cause a scandal in such a situation, and yet apparently nobody even raises an eyebrow. Nor does she show a moment's concern that her son might be labeled a bastard all his life. Elizabeth's actions show her to be more a contemporary character than a historical one.
And then there are minor errors, such as calling Jonathan "Earl Longdale" instead of "Lord Longdale" and having a character called Tiffany 150 years too early that perhaps the average reader might miss. You know, I am not such a nitpicker that I would let little things like this keep me from enjoying a book; however, this book just didn't ring true for me, maybe because I've read so many books set in this time period that I have a pretty good idea what it was like back then. I'd like to see Ms. Jernigan do the same before writing her next historical romance.

Elizabeth Trent doesn't know what to do. She's about to walk down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams, Jonathan Hird, but she has a terrible secret. She was raped and she is now pregnant. She can't find the strength to tell him, so she ends up leaving Jonathan at the altar without a word or note.
Hurt and humiliated, Jonathan sails from England and memories of Elizabeth. He's been living as a pirate for the past two years and now he's back. Stronger, dangerous and firm in his belief that he cares nothing for Elizabeth, he's talked into finding Elizabeth a suitable husband.
Elizabeth and Jonathan meet again and they are still attracted to each other, but can Elizabeth make Jonathan see that the only suitable husband for her is him? Will she ever find the courage to tell Jonathan the truth of why she left him at the altar?
We first meet Elizabeth and Jonathan in THE DUKE'S LADY, a story about Elizabeth's twin brother, Adam. The first few chapters in LOVE ONLY ONCE have some flashback scene which helps get the reader up to speed, after that it pretty much runs it course uninterrupted. Ms. Jernigan set the story very nicely, creating a steady pace with a few surprises thrown in to shake things up a bit!
