Love Nicholas Spark and most of his books. This was a good one, easy to immagine what is going to happen, but still a very good love story with some mistery.

Okay, so I fell in love with the characters in this book immediately. I cared for them and was interested to see what would happen as the story progressed. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the writing about halfway through. I just did not dig this book....just not enough punch, I guess. I have loved other stories by this author and will try another.
A great beach read.......2007-07-20
I just finished this book in two days while lying on the beach. I had no idea what it was about- I just picked it up on the best sellers at Books-A-Million (just wanting a book for the beach). I love Nicholas Sparks so I new it had to be good and I was not dissappoited with this book either. If you want a great read with a few twist then this is a great book to read. It will keep you reading and wanting to know more.

As an early childhood teacher I don't really read many "grown up" books. Once in a blue moon I have the time and come across a book that really grabs my attention. This happened with this book. I had seen the movie "The Notebook" and when I found "The Wedding" at my sister's house I couldn't put it down. I finished it in just a few days (a really big deal for me). The day I was done I bought "A Bend in the Road." As much as I love Allie and Noah from the other books, this one was my favorite. It takes hold of your heart right from the beginning. This is one of those that you don't want to end. I think the fact that Sparks' stories are set in NC is one of the big draws for me, being from the south myself I'm naturally a hopeless romantic. I finished "Message in a Bottle" this morning and I've started on "True Believer". I guess this makes me an avid reader, well almost. The point being, if you love a love story and a good cry mixed with tons of other emotions....this is a book you'll want to read. Sparks certainly knows how to draw in readers with his vivid details and breathtaking descriptions! It's easy to identify with his characters because at some point we've all been in love and most of us have been burned by our feeling in some way. This story is just a FEEL GOOD love story even though it has a somewhat sad backdrop.

This was my favorite book. I have read all books written by Nicholas sparks. The mixture of tragedy and romance was perfectly balanced. I love the way that all of his books teach a life lisson. This teaches to not take anything for granted. At any moment you can lose something that is close to you. Also taeches that while driving, eventhough you may think you are aware of everything that is going on there still can be more that is not visable to the eye. and it may jump out at any moment just as the dog did. Also you must never run away, you must face that reality of life. If you don't face up to your realityyour life may be chamged for the worse just as Brians was.

Having recently gone through a major change of my own I saw this book on tape and thought I would listen to it. I have read quite a few self help books on change from more "accepted" authorities but she has given me inspiration and really made real the fear that one can feel and how to calm yourself. I have read a lot of self help books but this was like listening to a friend tell you how she got through it. It made me realize that my change is only a fork in the road and that life can get better.

I tried to like this book, but it was a little too dull and boring. Her sense of humor seems contrived. I'm sure she is a nice person, but this book did not hit home with me. It didn't speak to me.
It seems like she just wrote this book to make money.
Joan Lunden's Bend in the Road is very helpful.......2003-12-14
I reviewed the audio tape several times and found it to be very helpful in our approach of how we deal with issues in everyday life. While many of the stories were insightful and inspiring, the one that most stuck with me was when she talked about one of her aids on Good Morning America that told Joan that she could start her day over whenever she liked, when she felt that Joan was off to a bad start in the early morning hours when most of us are still in bed. We all deal with rough times in our lives, and it is important to learn how to best deal with those times. Joan Lunden shares some idea's that would help most anyone. I also attended an Anthony Robbins seminar a few years ago - where he had assembled numerous celebrity or high achievers to speak to the thousands assembled. Joan Lunden was by far the best speaker there. This is not only a great tape or book to review, it would be one that others would really benefit from.

It makes you realize that though change is a part of life and sometimes it is vital, it is how we handle it that can make the difference. I've read the reviews and I while they are all different it is how we view something as to how we will benefit from it. There are some things I did not agree with and I chose not to focus on those things. There was much that I can use to my advantage and I choose to do just that. My whole life is about to change. From a person who felt that there was no hope I can say keep looking and keep praying. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Keep an open mind and an open heart and be ready to recieve the blessings.

This book was given to me when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I am already looking forward to my second reading. Dr. Jeremiah beautifully weaves personal stories throughout that illustrate in a real way many of the Psalms he includes and writes about. An excellent gift for those of us whose roads are not always straight.

This book is awesome. I read the book while going through some personal problems related to stress, anxiety and depression. This book brought tremendous comfort to me and reassured me that I was never alone...God was and is always there! Reading about the highs and lows of David and relating it to your everyday life is what David Jeremiah does best. He is an excellent writer and a Godly man. Read it and you won't be disappointed.

If you are reading this book in hopes of finding a personal story, you will be disappointed. This book is a trip through the Psalms, with reflections on what the psalmists may have intended. Only a fraction of its pages can be considered, in any way, a personal reflection on the bend in the road -- that's left to King David.

This book is a blessing to read for everyone but most especially for anyone currently going through any trials in their life. This is a book that when you read it you want to share it with everyone you come in contact with and the list just keeps growing of who should read this! This book is very enjoyable to read and you want to keep reading it. Everyone faces some point int their life when they feel they've come to the end of the road and they just can't go any further but he reminds us that God sees the full view that we can not see and he can tell that it's merely a bend in the road.
