Customer Reviews:
Wonderful Book!.......2007-08-15
Diana London is a werefolf moonlighting with the police department.
LOL
King Llyr has dreams of her (actually they dream of each other). He comes to the present time to "assist" in solving a series of crimes.
I laughed with this one. She goes into...um...heat and this is something beyond her control.
It was a cute read.
Master's Books by Angela Knight.......2007-05-16
I am sold on Angela Knight's books. I'll buy anything with her name on it since I've never been disappointed by anything she's written( I've read most of them); she's great!
Better than the first book - 3.5 stars.......2006-12-09
Continuing on from MASTER OF THE NIGHT, Angela Knight gives us a better understanding of the Sidhe way of life by featuring their King of Cachamwri, Llyr Gallatyn. This novel starts a week after Arthur and Llyr takes on the evil Geirolf who, although was defeated, left a legacy of evil in the form of thousands of bad vampires who are now scattered all over the world. Now it is up to Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table and the Sidhe people to rid our Earth of them.
In the small town of Verdaville, South Caroline, Diana London lives a regular as the city manager. Unbeknownst to the townspeople, Diana is descended from the Dire Kind - a werewolf breed made by Merlin as insurance in case the Magus or Sidhe turn bad. Diana doesn't mind being a shape-shifter. Unless she's on her Burning Moon - the time of the year when her physical needs must be sated. So along with her hunt for the vampire wreaking havoc in her town, she must also deal with the Burning Moon. Fortunately for her, Merlin's magic is only too happy to find the man for her.
For 1600 hundred years, Llyr Galatyn has been King of the Faeries. Along with the burden of caring for his people is the search to provide them with a queen. And having lost four wives due to his evil brother's greed, Llyr needs someone strong and able to defend herself. Is the shape-shifter who takes delight in driving him mad the queen he's been searching for? And how can he finally put an end to his brother's evil machinations?
MASTER OF THE MOON is certainly an improvement from the first book. While the romance still leaves a lot to be desired, there is plenty of humor that kept me entertained. The action scenes are quite good and the sex definitely sizzles and is an obvious trademark in Knight's books. All her books should come with a warning to those who like their romance books on the gentle side. If you want a fast-paced, witty and sizzling story, and don't mind if the romance is on the weak side, then you will enjoy this book.
Master of the Moon.......2006-08-21
Diana London is not what she seems. She works for the city of Verdaville, SC and she's a werewolf. A werewolf on the hunt for a serial killer that also happens to be an evil vampire sorceress.
In order to stop the vampire's killing rampage, Diana finds herself working with none other than the King of the Fairies, Llyr Galatyn. The same Llyr that has recently been the star of Diana's erotic dreams...
I love the Mageverse series! With vampires, werewolves, and fairies, what's not to love? I am especially hot for Llyr. He is seriously sexy and really knows how to burn up the sheets!
Although Master of the Moon is part of the Mageverse series, it can be read as a stand alone. But with such terrific characters and world building, why wouldn't you want to read every book in this series? And I really enjoyed Master of the Moon! With a hard won fight between good and evil and an erotically charged romance, Angela Knight's Master of the Moon is a delicious read!

Great continuation!.......2006-08-10
At first, I was a little disappointed to learn that Knight was shifting the focus from vampires in the first book to werewolves. However, this was an excellent read. Now that she got all the "world building" out of the way in Master of Night, she jumped right into a rousing story. Many characters re-occur from the first book and Llyr and Diana have great checmistry. I highly recommend this series.
Book Description
Eihei Dogen (1200-1253), among the first to transmit Zen Buddhism from China to Japan and founder of the important Soto School, was not only a profoundly influential and provocative Zen philosopher but also one of the most stimulating figures in Japanese letters.
Kazuaki Tanahashi, collaborating with several other Zen authorities, has produced sensitive and accurate translations of Dogen's most important texts. Moon in a Dewdrop contains the key essays of the great master, as well as extensive background materials that will help Western readers to approach this significant work. There is also a selection of Dogen's poetry, most of which has not appeared in English translation before.
Dogen's thought runs counter to conventional logic, employing paradoxical language and startling imagery. It illuminates such fundamental concerns as the nature of time, existence, life, death, the self, and what is beyond self.
Customer Reviews:
Of course you are........2007-03-05
If you are the same person after you read this book, you didn't read this book. I'm not saying this as some sort of zen-thing. I'm serious. If you read this book with a serious mind, if you ponder it, you won't be able to think about anything it touches as you thought about it before. Or not think about it as you didn't think about it before. On the other hand, if you are the same person after you read this book and you did read this book carefully, then of course you are, of course you are.
No review.......2006-12-20
To review this book at length would ignore its lessons. My only advice is to read it and discover the Dogen for yourself. You might come away thinking he's an idiot. He'd say he'd succeeded mightily in your education.
A sure pleasure.......2006-11-04
Great book which contains a big collection of Dogen's wisdom. In order to understand it without much difficulties, I would suggest that the reader will start by learning about Mahayana Buddhism in general, and then start to investigate Dogen texts. Because the wisdom of Zen Buddhism is often written in Chinese or Japanese, this book is very handy for the westerner user, especially because the translation is brilliant.
As a student of Japanese language for the last 6 years, I know how hard it is to translate the 12-13th century Japanese into nowadays English, so it has really impressed me. A sure pleasure.
Five Star all the Way.......2006-07-09
"moon in a dewdrop" is a collection of writings by Eihei Dogen, the founder of Soto Zen. The text is divided into four sections, which are clear and easy to understand. There are notes and a glossary so that the meaning of the text can be clearly grasped. The book is a five star raft.
Now to the writing, Dogen speaks from experience, insight gained through deep meditation, lived every day. The text is not meant to be intellectually grasped as a doctrine. This can be understood by the presentation of the first section being "Practical Instructions" and the first writing being "Zazen-Gi" or Rules for Zazen. Sitting with "moon in a dewdrop" is like sitting with Dogen himself, at every turn Dogen is pointing to reality and inviting us to fully enter it and taste it for ourselves. The text is a practical manual to be used in conjunction with Zazen, Dogen wrote for all those, who truly wish to taste the essence of Buddhism and reality.
The writing is five star.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to any one who is interested in Zen and a greater depth of reality.
The Best Single Volume of Dogen's Writings.......2006-04-15
Eihei Dogen is without a doubt the greatest writer in Zen history. His masterwork, the Shobogenzo, represents one of the most comprehensive, fascinating, and valuable works of Buddhist literature. In Moon in a Dewdrop, Kazuaki Tanahashi has compiled the best single volume Dogen in the English language. This contains the best translations I have ever read of several of Dogen's seminal works - Genjo Koan, Uji, Yuibutsu Yobutsu, Sansuikyo, Zenki, and the Tenzo Kyokun.

Written for serious practitioners, Marian Green's Witch Alone: Thirteen Moons to Master Natural Magic guides those who wish to learn the "old religion" without the aid of a coven. Densely written in a serious tone, Witch Alone is nonetheless an inspiring and poetic read. Exercises at the end of each chapter are designed to take a full 28 nights to accomplish, and are designed to progressively lead one down the path to success. Worshippers of the goddess and those interested in exploring the deeper aspects of their own souls will find this tome deeply informative, but for the neo-pagan committed to learning solitary witchcraft, Witch Alone is a must-read. --P. Invaluable to the newcomer to paganism.--Mystical Realms
Customer Reviews:
Good Material for Paganism 101 Instructors.......2006-11-30
Maron Green is a highly respected author and workshop facilitator. I've never met her but I have a great deal of respect for her reputation. Overall, I think it's a pleasant read, despite my disagreement with some of the material in the book.
Even so, this would NOT be the book I recommend to newcomers to Paganism or Wicca.
The reason is that while much of what is in the book is very good, some of it may be confusing for newcomers. It's not that the material is advanced, it's more that many of the authors stated opinions in the book are not opinions shared by all Pagans and Wiccans. This is not to say they are not popular opinions, but I think it's optimal if the newcomer is aware of the diversity of thought within the Pagan religions.
Here is random example, on page 61: "Real witches do not, and never have, called themselves 'witches'; that is a term applied by others." Someone learning about Paganism might read this as gospel, I personally have known several people who proudly refer to themselves as witches, and would take offense if anyone tried to say they really weren't. As a Pagan my experience is not uncommon. There are many similar examples throughout the book.
I heartily recommend this book for a discussion group. Experienced Pagans might enjoy discussing the author's opinions, whether they agree or disagree. An interesting topic of discussion might be that the book seems to reveal some differences between the English Pagan experience and the experience of those of us who live in the U.S.
I also would highly recommend it for people who wish to teach a Paganism 101 class. An experienced teacher would be able to find and make good use of the many gems within this book, particularly the exercises.
Timeless Truths.......2006-10-09
'A Witch Alone' is one of the first few witchy books I ever bought,
and I often refer to this book, time and time again, for the wisdom
contained within it. One Reviewer complained that this book was "too poetic"
or contained too many references to "the olden days", in which the Reviewer
felt he/she be sitting around the campfire (listening to tall tales?)
To me, it is exactly 'the old days', the old tales, which teach us
how to be! "How to be" for today, and "how to be" for tomorrow.
Overly General.......2006-02-05
I bought this book because I liked the idea of a moon based cycle. Though coven life is structured around the moon, most of the literature out there today is based on the Sabbats and the sun cycle. As a high priestess, I was looking forward to reading a more lunar perspective. But Witch Alone is not really based on a lunar cycle. It is simply thirteen lessons. They don't really connect to the cycles of the moon, or the wheel of the year for that matter. And there are much more basic than I realized reading the description. Basicly, it is a 13 lesson wicca 101 book, and not a great one at that. The exercises are quite basic. It is of course good to ponder what your conception of what the goddess is, or what the sun cycle means to you. But these are things that most wiccans do anyway. There weren't any ideas presented that I hadn't done before.
A good alternative beginners book........2005-11-29
If you want to read about Wicca it's best to read books by original wiccans such as Doreen Valiente, The Farrars and Vivanne Crowley-(who does excellent beginner books). This book by Marian Green is written more about Witchcraft and it won't really tell you about the original religion of Wicca that was created by Gerald Gardner in 1950, if that's what your looking for.
However this is a wonderful book which really brings a sense of the wild natural world into the practice of witchcraft which no other author has ever really captured. Which is what witchcraft is all about really. It is effectively an accessable precusor to books on English Traditional witchcraft, by authors such as Evan John Jones, Nigel Jackson and Robert Cochrane. Which is based on, (supposedly) pre-Gardnerian witchcraft which tends to be stongly nature based and skewed more towards worship of the horned god.
Infact I would say for Americans M.G books- would be the perfect beginners books for those interested in the 1734 tradition (the Roebuck tradition in America.) Those living in a historical village in England or Europe will get more out of this than Americans, due to the proximity of old and sacred sites. But if you are thirsty for a refreshingly non-fluffy informative beginners book, that doesn't go on about chakras, unicorns and crystals this could be just the tonic.
Painful to Read.......2005-01-20
I purchased this book along with Marion's "Natural Witchcraft" and was so disappointed in both. I felt as if I could have written it myself (after just reading about 4 101-type books). Marion writes in a such a flowery and general manner. Good for poetry, but not very informative. Too many, "In the days of old" comments. It's like your sitting by the campfire listening to tall tales. I also found it difficult as most of the text reads like "You should do this or that". I'd pass.

Customer Reviews:
Not just kinky sex, but plot, characterization and world building!.......2005-08-10
I grabbed this book on a recent smutty fiction shopping spree. This was the best of the books I ordered.
The basic plot is that Megan lives a humdrum life until kinky aliens (Khyrians) kidnap her and whisk her away to a planet where everyone is sexually liberated and BDSM is considered not just normal, but honorable. "Two Moons" isn't a bunch of sex scenes strung together, but instead deals with Megan's attraction to the Khyrians along with her fear and confusion. Additionally, we find out about Khyrian society without the author giving us a 2 page info-dump. I really enjoyed the characters and plot, as well as the erotic scenes. I plan to purchase more of her books.
Shephard is at the top of her game!.......2004-02-12
Finally! What an awesome 4-star read. Ms. Shephard has a unique ability for true character development along with inventive scenes. I was immediately pulled into the richly developed story line and could hardly put this one down! I truly hope this author is sequestered as we speak, writing MORE!!! I am anxiously looking forward to the sequel which this book definitely deserves and hope she will be able to maintain the high standard she has set for herself with Worthy of a Master. Kudos to Chelsea Shephard and "look out" to Adrian Hunter!
Hot hot HOT!.......2003-11-08
Mmmmm, if her short stories are the knife, this is the cake we've been waiting for Chelsea Shepard to bake. Of course, being Adrian Hunter's partner in crime and especially punishment might be time-consuming. Encore!!!
bondage and romance.......2003-10-03
well written story, cool new world. the characters feel real, easy to relate to. Megan, in particular, is not just a submissive woman; she's smart, fierce, emotional. her trials and errors are believable. many times i thought "i would have reacted like her." a thorougly enjoyable reading experience.
Kinky and romantic - my favorite combination.......2003-09-25
Two Moons is a page turner! The characters are believable and endearing, the plot is fun and intriguing, and the sex scenes range from emotional to extremely hot. Planet Khyra has become my new dream destination! And the Khyrians are sooo sexy.

Traveller Moon.......2007-03-14
I expected the journal to be larger based on other paperblank journals I have purchased. It would be helpful to have the dimensions listed in the description of the journal. I like the journal, I would just prefer it to be larger.
WRONG PICTURE- YOU WILL RECEIVE A DIFFERENT ITEM.......2006-03-04
I am a very big fan of the Paperblanks company and have bought many of their journals in the past. As another reviewer stated, the paper is of a great quality and I love the fact that the journals lays flat on a surface. My journal has traveled to Europe and Mexico with me and I think that the art and designs the Paperblanks company use are beautiful. However, I was very disappointed with the journal that I received. It was not the item pictured. It was a much smaller journal with rounded edges -not what I had expected or what was stated in the description (dimensions). I will still buy Paperblanks Co. products but thing I will head to the local Barnes and Noble to get it.
Simple, Unique, Delightful.......2004-02-06
What I love the most about this journal is how the pages will so easily lay flat when open. This desirable trait comes from the book's unique binding. 128 pages in eight folds held between two sturdy covers, all stitched together at six points. This binding edge is exposed and gives the book an over-all artistic handcrafted appearance, accentuating the Asian characteristic. Inside the back cover is a brief but interesting piece of background information. What is seen on the cover is a Zen art piece done by Gesshü Soko and is titled Moon (Not Know Bright Moon Autumn). The paper itself is acid-free, of thick archive value, formed from recycled fibers, in a color of light cream with narrow margins and twenty-six lines per page. Making it an impressive, handsome and practical journal to record your memories and observations in. Made in Hong Kong.

Book Description
THE FIRST THING you have to understand about the story of Master Stitchum and the Moon is that it happened very, very long ago. Millions and millions of years ago. When the world was very young. So young that the mountains only came up to a person's chin and snowflakes came in just twenty three shapes...
MASTER STITCHUM is a tailor who does no tailoring but instead spends his time telling everybody else what to do. He tells butterflies how to flit better and he tells knights how to slay dragons more effectively. Follow Stitchum, his sister Helga (the town spitter) and his brother Pitchum (the town slop shoveler) as they embark on an unforgettable journey to furnish their town with the previously undiscovered novelty of MOONLIGHT. In doing so, Stitchum will cross treacherous mountains, swim through shark filled oceans, sing lullabies to giants and ultimately come face to face with his own weakness.
Included within this wonderfully illustrated, full-colored, masterpiece is a CD containing 3 songs that complement Master Stitchum and the Moon. These unforgettable songs were written, composed and performed by world-renown singer/songwriter, Michael Smith.
