Book Description
Surface Science is understood as a relatively young scientific discipline, concerned with the physical and chemical properties of phenomena on clean and covered solid surfaces, studied under a variety of conditions. The adsorption of atoms and molecules on solid surfaces is, for example, such a condition, connected with more or less drastic changes of all surface properties. An adsorption event is frequently observed in nature and found to be of technical importance in many industrial processes. For this reason, Surface Science is interdisciplinary by its very nature, and as such an important intermediary between fundamental and applied research.
Book Description
Diffusion – defined as mass, amount, or particle transport process – is the most essential transport property besides viscosity and thermal conductivity. Diffusion is widely used in nature, technical and scientific applications, ranging from diffusion in all kinds of gases, liquids, solids, electrolytes and their mixtures. Due to the large amount of data, the volume LB IV/15 “Diffusion in Gases, Liquids, and Electrolytes” is divided into three subvolumes. Part A: Gases in Gases, Liquids and their Mixtures. Part B: Liquids in Liquids and Liquid Mixtures. Part C: Ions and Electrolytes in Liquids, Electrolytes and Molten Salts.
The presented subvolume A includes the main chapters Measurement Methods, Diffusion in Pure Gases, Diffusion in Gaseous Mixtures, Diffusion of Gas/Vapor in Gases or Liquids and Diffusion of Gases in Solution. Due to the very different and widespread measurement methods, a precise description of these methods is given.

Great Book!.......2004-03-20
This is such a great book that collected almost all well evaluated data in my research field. It's very helpful for me. The problem is, it's too expensive. Anyway, my boss buy one and I can share with him.

She thought her date was out of this world.
Actually, he was not of this world . . .

This book is great! Its basicly 4 differnt mini books in one but each of them keep you on the edge of your seat! I recomend it to everyone!
Excellent.......2007-09-03
I loved this compulation. I am a big Kim Harrison fan but this introduced me to several other authors who I enjoyed as well. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre.
ok for short stories.......2007-08-08
I personally only really liked one of these short stories. The others were ok but only one stood out. It is a good way to see how different writters catch your attention though.
And happily everafter...........2007-05-14
I really like the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison, so I was surprised that the first story was my least favorite. I enjoyed the humor and adventure in the other stories, Kelly Armstrong's 'Chaotic' being my favorite. I will be looking up more titles by these authors in the days to come.
DATES FROM HELL.......2007-05-12
I fell in love with Kelley Armstrong after BITTEN, she hasn't missed a beat since. Can't get enough!

Book Description
Maggie Quinn, Girl reporter. Honors student, newspaper staffer, yearbook photographer. Six weeks from graduation and all she wants to do is get out of Avalon High in one piece. Fate seems to have different plans for her.
High school may be a natural breeding ground for evil, but the scent of fire and brimstone is still a little out of the ordinary. It's the distinct smell of sulfur that makes Maggie suspect that something's a bit off. And when realTwilight Zone stuff starts happening to the school's ruling clique—the athletic elite and the head cheerleader and her minions, all of whom happen to be named Jessica—Maggie realizes it's up to her to get in touch with her inner Nancy Drew and ferret out who unleashed the ancient evil before all hell breaks loose.
Maggie has always suspected that prom is the work of the devil, but it looks like her attendance will be mandatory. Sometimes a girl's got to do some pretty undesirable things if she wants to save her town from soul-crushing demons from hell and the cheerleading squad.
Customer Reviews:
Fun, fun, fun!.......2007-07-17
I loved this book. Suspenseful, clever and funny, Clement-Moore is obviously a skilled storyteller at weaving a complex plot that adults and teens enjoy. I left my teenage years a while ago, but I really liked these characters, especially Justin. Maggie Quinn is a character I want to read in future sequels.
AWESOMENESS!.......2007-07-13
This was seriously one of my favorite books of all time!
Rosemary Clement-Moore really outdid herself in this thrilling novel.
Hurrah!.......2007-04-08
I got this book over a vacation. I knew nothing about it, or the author, but I bought it because it looked funny. I finished it in 2 days. (One of which was a 14-hour car ride.) As soon as I finished the book in the car, it was scooped up by both my older brother and mother, because i wouldn't stop raving about it. They have been fighting over it constantly, and both enjoy it. Just goes to show how the book appeals to a wide audience! Definitely worth reading!!!
Buffy is a thing of the past........2007-04-07
I was very surpirsed at how good this book turned out to be. Most teen lit books I read are very well targeted toward the teen audience, but this was not. It can be enjoyed by readers of all ages!
I also loved the main character Maggie. She's someone I would have been friends with back in highschool and someone who I could relate to. It was very well written and is a great mixture of mystery and the supernatural. I really hope for a sequel because Maggie was such a likeable character.
A satisfying read indeed!.......2007-04-04
I bought this book on a whim having not heard or seen anything about it before coming across it in my local bookstore. Is there anything better than buying a book on impulse and finding that it was exactly what you were looking for? I think not! For fans of either Veronica Mars or Buffy this is a must read. The author does a fantastic job of creating a complete world rich with details and characters who feel real even when faced with surreal situations. This is one of those books where when you get to the end, you turn the page anyway hoping for more. After finishing my first thought was that I wanted more time with these characters. After doing a little sleuthing of my own online I am happy and relieved to know that I will get my way as the follow up book is already finished and looks to be in stores sometime next year. If you are on the fence about this one, I really recommend you pick it up, you will not be disappointed.

Best humor book I've ever read.......2002-03-31
The story about the bathroom and the little dog kept me laughing for days. Every story in this book is hysterical. Buy a copy for yourself and 100 more for your friends because they won't believe how terrific it is.
It Will Have You In Stitches!.......2001-03-11
One funny dating story after another. The stories further illustrate how communication is key to a successful date let alone a promising relationship. Written very well, darn near every story will have you craving for more. Very good for those nights when your time is your own.
Dates from Hell/ The funniest book.......2000-09-24
I have recently divorced after 20+ years of marriage. This book lists the funniest accounts of horrible dates--some of which I think I too have met. I could not stop laughing.
IT'S OKAY BUT IT LACKS THE INTEREST A READER LOOKS FOR........1999-06-25
I WAS NOT IMPRESS WITH IT. NEEDS A LITTLE MORE SPICE SO WE CAN FEEL THE FLAVOR.
Good for those nights alone.......1998-03-13
If you're a fan of the anecdote as proof of concept, this book will regale you with numerous tales of how hazardous "dating" can be. The authors claim all the stories are true. Well, they must be because I don't think I could imagine any more awkward, dangerous, or absurd situations. If hearing about other people's woes helps you get back in the saddle, this book is for you. Check out the sequel too...similar comments apply.
Book Description
There are close to one hundred million single adults living in the United States. Of those, approximately thirty-five million will look at online dating sites this year alone. Internet Dates from Hell provides the ins and outs of Internet dating from one woman's experiences, ranging from funny to scary to downright shocking. Internet Dates from Hell is not only a guide; it is also a seven-year journey through author Trisha Ventker's dating life as a single kindergarten teacher who relocated from the suburbs to New York City to find her soul mate. Fielding over four hundred responses on a given day, and receiving more than fifty-two thousand hits on her personal ad in an eight-month span, Ventker shares her frightening but true dating encounters in the wonderful world of online dating. Follow Ventker through the trials and tribulations of her quest to find "Mr. Right". Along the path, Trisha Ventker endures hundreds of first dates. Encounters include a conspiracy theorist living in the United Kingdom, a religious fanatic from Texas, a sadomasochistic psychiatrist, and even a pre-op transsexual, to name a few. Ventker's brutally honest memoir lets you step inside her shoes and experience her exciting journey firsthand.
Customer Reviews:
Some peculiar dates indeed.......2007-01-12
The stories are offbeat dates from the author's own experience. It's not as downright strange or funny as "Dates from Hell" in which the disaster dates were from numerous people. However, it's worth a read.
I totally enjoyed reading this book........2006-10-16
This book is a fun, light hearted read about the trials of on-line dating, a subject that much of the single world can relate to. I had many laugh out loud moments and loved the author's descriptions of the men she met and the environments she encountered on her adventurous dates. The author often had vibes, bells and sometimes whistles (her intuition) that indicated something about her date(s) was off. Sometimes she listened and sometimes she did not. It reminded me of my own need to trust my intuition that is so often a better judge of character than my heart and head which tends to rationalize, minimize, intellectualize, etc. I liked how the author wrote about a human experience, finding a life partner, with the ability to see the humor and, at times, the absurdity, of this experience, which is an earnest and often daunting pursuit for many people.
Highly entertaining!.......2006-10-12
I could not put this book down! This girl next door knows how to tell a story. The portrait she makes of all her dates is so precise and accurate, you feel like you know them! Actually, good or bad, you've probably been on a date with someone just like them! Although a married woman myself (and a happily married one), I sometime long for the magic and romanticism of first dates... This book is a great reminder of what it really is like out there! Until you get to the last chapter and you get lured into wanting to date all over again!
A fun book and great escape from life (single or married!)
A great, entertaining little book ..........2006-10-01
I bought this book because I adore the cover, and much to my surprise, I enjoyed the content too. It's a fun book that made me LOL. I relate to some of the characters that author Trisha Ventker is so adept at describing. What a fun romp!!!
Most young people I know who have met mates on the Internet have had both good and bad experiences. You just have to be careful whom you invite into your life. There's some good advice in this book too.
Buy it and enjoy! Don't expect the greatest masterpiece, but DO enjoy a fun read on a lazy Fall evening.
a must read for internet daters.......2006-09-26
A great read describing the trials and tribulations of internet dating. Also good advice on how to avoid the misques experienced by the author. A must read for those contemplating internet dating.

So many laughs in just one book........2005-03-29
I love books like this. Books of true funny experiences all put together. This book contains one of the funniest stories of all time . I laugh every time I think of it. I recently reread this book after several years and found it as funny as ever. Now I want to read the first Dates from hell.
Giggle Fest!.......2004-08-20
I laughed so hard, I nearly peed my pants. The stories are ridiculously weird, and hard-to-believe-but-true, and you'll read them over and over again. A great book to read with girlfriends. If I didn't read about it, I would have never believed it. It was a great roadtrip read; I recited some of the stories to my sis as we drove to New York City! Non-stop laughter!
Hysterical.......2003-10-16
I couldn't stop laughing. Seriously. Why is this book out of stock? I found it at a used book shop. It is one of the funniest books I've ever read. What else has she written?
This is what humor is all about.......2002-03-31
This book is smart, witty, original, and a riot. I loved it as much as the original. If you havnt bought it yet you really should because you'll love it. She is a great story teller.
A Good Sequel.......2000-10-11
Whereas this book is not as good as the original, thee are still many hillarious moments. Organized into some amusing chapters, this book can easily get one to relate to some of the pains of dating. Some of the stories where the Date From Hell is the person writing it, are a bit less amusing than the others. None the less, sometimes you need to laugh at yourself. Overall, you really can not go wrong.

Customer Reviews:
A Short Story Collection -- Not All Humerous.......2007-07-10
Admittedly, the cover and type font of the paperback edition are misleading. While some of the short stories in this collection are "light" this is not a humor collection.
Rather it is a collection of serious short stories of gay relationships (or tricks) that have turned out wrong.
Given that we have that misconception out of the way (and I like both humerous and serious stories), I found the quality of the stories very mixed.
Among thos I liked were "The Golden Tooth" by Barry Adams which was a nice first love with a crazy person story, "Double Booking" by Steve Nugent, which discusses juggling 2 guys at once, "My Boyfriend Brought Home A Rock And Roll Band" by Jerry Rosco and "My Primitive Man" by Donald Hatch.
There were more misses though, such as "The Smell Of Asparagus Pee" by Shaun Levin which I just didn't get at all and "Geisha In The Pigpen" by Don Shewey which didn't even seem to fit the anthology.
If you don't mind skimming an anthology for the better stories, and you grab this used its an OK page turner, but again don't be decieved by the humerous cover and type font.
More Likes Stories from the Gates of Hell.......2006-03-27
This should have been a funny, slick, silly, and campy collection of gay satire. It is none of that. It is more akin to STORIES FROM WHINERS. The collection DOES NOT ENTERTAIN...it ANNOYS. If you enjoy listening to or reading about failed "relationships" and encounters that have NO SENSE OF HUMOR but rather a SENSE OF SELF-PITY OR LOATHING, read this.
Ex-Boyfriend Origami.......2003-12-12
Kevin Bentley sure did have something devious in mind when he decided to compile this anthology... "Boyfriends from Hell" documents 19 gay writers' stories of twisted loved affairs with men of very little virtue and decency.
Every reader should be warned that the cover of this book can be misleading. Humor was not the sole intedned purpose. Though all of the stories are incredibly well written, very few have laugh-out-loud quality. The tones tend to be sarcastic and bitter, yet poignant, as writers talk about the hardships of gay relationships in general and then top it off with their experience with a failed romance with a mentally-disturbed (and sometimes dangerous) lover. Stephen Greco's story, Miss Bankhead at Home, is one of the better works in the collection, as he recounts an ex resurfacing in his life. Peter is a failed actor/model, who's looks have faded from aging and drug use. The romance is unsteady to begin with, but Greco talks about being drawn back in with the strange man, until one night he has a knife pulled on him.
Under the guise of humor, some of the writers really give us disturbing stories and we cannot help but sympathize with them and their experiences. In one story, a young man is tries to capture the affections of a sexually-confused but charismatic married man, only to eventually realize that he is being used. Other stories rely on a situational confrontation, such as the surprisingly hysterical story, "In the Garden of the North American Cocktease". The story starts out very humorous and one cannot help but chuckle out loud to the narrator's witty observations but in the end, we realize that the date with a "dream guy" could have eventually led him into a very violent confrontation. Erotica writer, Simon Sheppard, lends his talents as well in "Going Down, Going Down Down", an amusing tale of an online hook-up gone wrong, completed with talk of diaper fetishes and crack pipes.
It is unfortunate the only weak story would come from the editor, Kevin Bentley. Kevin knows how to pick his writers well, but sometimes I think he's too scatterbrained to know what to do with so much excellent material. This really shows in his own story, "Widow Hopper". Bentley tries to do it all - combining real drama, sarcasm and a sex scene that would have been appropriate if the subject matter weren't so bleak. Author's should have more faith in their intended subject matters. Some of the stories featured are very real and very powerful, so we don't need to dillude them with funny cartoon covers and odd humor attempts.
Over all, this collection is fantastic. I wouldn't recommend trying to read every story in one night, but rather savor them over several reading sessions. This is a must-have for the disgruntled romantic - documented proof that the one that got away could have been a BOYFRIEND FROM HELL....

Funny Book I could relate to.......1999-06-29
This book is filled with humorous stories concerning bad dates
Awful.......1999-02-26
Worst book I have ever read. I thought I would get Samons book too and got this instead. It is awful. Why isn't my other review here? I also felt tricked. The glowing reviews are anonymous. How lame. I do not recommend this book to anybody.
Bad Very Bad.......1999-02-20
I am looking for the real book and got sent to this one and that is bad. The real book by Samon is very hilarious and that is the one I have bought for a long time for Valentine's Day. This book is not funny and I do not like being tricked. I can tell from the other reader comment here that this whole thing is a gimmick because they wrote their own reviews. This all very bad. Where is Samon's Dates From Hell book?
Awful. Total rip off of another author's book. Boring........1999-02-13
What an awful book. I went to this title because I had read the original book and thought this would be another book by Katherine Ann Samon, but found this instead. It was so bad. Not funny at all. clumsy and boring and second rate. how sad that the writiers could not come up with their own title. that itself says it all. if you really want to read a funny and original book, go to Samon's books and skip this sad copy-cat crew.
Could be headed for the same unlikely bestseller success..........1998-11-21
Dates From Hell (And A Few Moments Made In Heaven) could be headed for the same unlikely bestseller success as Chicken Soup for the Soul. The new dating book by Mike Harris & Victoria Jackson was released in September by small press, Cumerbland House Publishing, Inc. The title has the combined advantage of a clever concept, a dedicated publisher, and two highly energetic authors who believe they must do a good deal of self-marketing. All of this could lead to formidable success for this title. Dates From Hell reveals the funny-awful side of dating! What makes a dating experience so bad that it is burned forever in your memory as a Date From Hell? Everyone who has ever dated has their own definition-and their own particular tale to tell. The two authors just had to know. They launched an aptly named website and asked men and women from around the world to send them stories of awful evenings, noxious nights, and woeful weekends. Result? The book entitled Dates From Hell (And A Few Moments Made In Heaven).
