Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

5 out of 5 stars Very Interesting.......2007-03-07

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

      Book Description

This emotional, erotically-charged novel follows three half-sisters and their complicated relationships with one another and with the men in their lives.

Celeste thinks all she wants in life are her family and a nice home in the suburbs. Yet lately she’s got a hunch that her sexy husband, Sharief, a New York City policeman, is patrolling more than just the streets. Celeste is sure he’s cheating on her. When she finds out that the home-wrecker is none other than her own sister Monica, all hell breaks loose.

Monica never intended to fall in love with her sister’s husband. But who knew that Sharief would make every inch of her body tingle with a single touch? Monica knows she should have righted her wrong before Celeste found out, but she’s in too deep–in more ways than one.

Imani is not pleased that her low-life boyfriend, Walik, just got out of the slammer and wants her back. Sure enough trouble comes knocking. But when a fine Puerto Rican DJ named Kree seduces her and showers her son, Jamal, with attention, Imani finally gets a shot at happiness and ghetto-free love.

Fielding the curve balls tossed their way, Celeste, Monica, and Imani learn that it takes more than sisterhood to cope with love, life, and men–the ones they’ve got, and that elusive ex factor.

      1 out of 5 stars Couldn't even finish it.......2007-08-16

I'm sorry to say it, but this book was trash. I couldn't even finish reading it. "Urban fiction" has become incresingly popular lately, and being the book lover that I am, I jumped on the bandwagon as well. But the language and the content in this one was just too much. I mean, I felt disrespected just reading it. And if you're going to assualt with me with all the vulgarity, can you at least have a storyline worth reading? The plot of the story was definitely missing in action. Too many authors who write in this genre just rehash the same stories and characters over and over again, just with different names and in different hoods.

I suggest Miss Whitaker takes some notes from my girl Nikki Turner, who writes in the same genre yet has some class to her writing. Her plots are interesting, well thought out, and unique. Yet she still supplies the drama we love to read about. For those of you considering this novel, if you can't resist - rent (from the library).

      3 out of 5 stars Brit-Chick-Lit with few surprises.......2006-04-20

While having sex, Martha's boyfriend utters the words no woman wants to hear - least of all in bed - "I've slept with someone else." She calmly dresses and tells him that they are over. It is not until she is on the street that she remembers that they share an apartment... The betrayal is all the more humiliating since Martha makes her living as an advice columnist (or as her editor calls her - a "relationship counselor"), and immediately starts to wonder if it was a one night stand or happened repeatedly.

She moves into a new place with sexual dynamo Jacqui, who introduces her to a whole new set of people and experiences. She also has to make that obligatory call to her childhood nemesis Desdemona, who is now dating Martha's first ex-boyfriend Alex. As she tries to get over Luke, she explores her unresolved feelings for Alex, who seems to still have a soft spot for her. She also must contend with her column, which her editor wants spiced up who she could be out the door.

As she trudges through the letters from her lovelorn readers, she wonders if she shouldn't give Luke another chance. This Brit-Chick-Lit tale has some comical situations, but it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out where she is going with the story - in fact, there are few surprises.

      1 out of 5 stars Paint-by-Numbers Chick-lit.......2005-04-24

If Microsoft ever comes out with a template for writing a chick-lit novel, they can use "The Ex-Factor" as their guide. Every, and I mean EVERY, stereotype and cliché is here and Semple has put it together in a bored, fill-in-the-blanks tone that leaves no room for plot twists.

      Pretty but insecure heroine?
      Glamorous job in jeopardy?
      Handsome cheating boyfriend?
      Gorgeous and catty arch-rival?
      Sweet and syrupy best friend?
And most of all, the perfect but unavailable, unattainable man?

Check, check, check, check, check, check. *Yawn*

None of the characters are believable or likeable and the plot drags so much in places that it's a struggle to get through it. Among all this predictability are crude sex scenes and a generous sprinkling of the f-word.

If this had been written when the genre was new, this type of writing would be more acceptable. But this is one of the latest entries in the chick-lit canon and there are dozens and dozens of books that use one or more of Semple's plot points. Readers have moved past such bland and generic stories. I think the droopy toothbrush on the cover is actually asleep.

2 out of 5 stars Call it Chick Lite.......2005-01-27

Calling "The Ex Factor" the Chinese food of Chick Lit is a grave disservice to the cuisine of the Middle Kingdom. Semple's not a bad writer and her sex scenes are quite spicy, but the novel will stay with you only as long as it takes to close the book and put it back on a shelf. None of the characters is remotely believable or likeable, and a bizarre domestic violence interlude just leaves you queasy. "Ex Factor" would be better described, perhaps, as the Yoshinoya of Japanese food--cheap, greasy and a bit stomach-turning.

3 out of 5 stars Great Writing, Slow Developing Plot.......2004-10-20

Meet Martha Seymore - an advice columnist at Gloss Magazine. When she finds out that her boyfriend Luke has been cheating on her, she is devastated. (Having him admit it to her mid-foreplay just adds icing to the cake!) What's a girl to do? Temporarily she moves in with her friend Desdemona, who just happens to be engaged to Alex, one of Martha's ex boyfriends. Thus begins Martha's search to get over Luke. She wonders if she will get over him if she found another man.

Join Martha in her soul-searching in this witty, well-written novel. Martha is the type of heroine whom many can identify with - smart, sassy, funny yet flawed. Overall I enjoyed this book for the most part, although I wished at times that the plot moved along a little more instead of having the character constantly looking back into the past. Not a whole lot seemed to happen. However, the book is definitely worth a read. Andrea Semple has written another book that is so far only published in the UK called The Make-up Girl.

      4 out of 5 stars Truthfully.........2004-10-16

I haven't had a chance to grab this book at the nearest bookstore in KLCC. But I would definitely recommended another book by Andrea Semple titled: The Make-up Girl. It was simply hilarious and I just wish tall, dark and gorgeous Frank Blake, would be at my doorstep knocking my door at this instant! 5-stars for The Make-up Girl.

ps: I'll be back with Ex-Factor review.

      Book Description

Welcome to alternative dating . . . the tenth circle of hell

      DATING RULE #1
Keep an open mind . . . and your phone number handy.

It started simply enough. The editor of Tess Magazine demanded an assignment about dating practices for the urban set. Something fun. Something sexy. Something that the three women working on the article -- Julia, Samantha and Abby -- could research and really get into.

      DATING RULE #2
Engage your reader. If he's hot, buy him a drink.

Suddenly Julia seems smitten with a stranger she met during a speed-dating session. Samantha's research into coffeehouse dating is less engaging than the naughty e-mails she's been getting from her "pen pal" in Italy. And Abby is too busy dealing with her new "roommate" -- an Irish photographer who looks like sex in pants -- to get much work done.

So how do you write about relationships when your own love life looks like something caught in the garbage disposal?

        Book Description

The nine engaging authors of The EX Factor bring warmth to cold, bitter hearts, and maybe also to those of us who have a twisted sense of what is truly fair in this world. With twenty-two short stories combined into a single chilling volume, they take matters of the unjustly treated heart into their own hands. Authors: Michy Anderson, B.J. Bourg, Colin Conway, Katt Dunsmore, Patricia Harrington, Jill Maser, Sandra Seamans, Earl Staggs, Frank Zafiro

5 out of 5 stars Chilling Stories, .......2006-11-01

Most of us have had an EX somewhere in our past. Whether it's an EX best friend, EX lover, or EX spouse, we've all had an occasion in which someone left out lives (became an EX), and quite often, not under the best of circumstances. Seeking justice, revenge, and evening the playing field are fantasies we all may have had during those moments of anger after experiencing a loss, a betrayal, a broken promise, or a broken trust, yet most of us only entertain the fantasies in our minds, until time heals the wound to a point where we allow the universe to deal justice as deserved.

However, the nine (9) authors of The Ex Factor have actually taken those fantasies and thoughts of justified endings toward an EX and turned them into reality, if only for a few moments while read on the pages of this book. Here you will find what the publisher has noted: justified endings to bad Exes, and for anyone who has even entertained thoughts of moral, universal accounting for a wrong done them, The Ex Factor will not fail to satisfy.

I highly recommend this chilling anthology to anyone who is interested reading genres of light horror, crime and suspense, and drama. There is a little something for everyone in The Ex Factor.

"Can only be likened to your favorite movies. Similar ones are A Long Kiss Good Night, Beaches, G. I. Jane, Love Jones, Basic Instinct, or Love & Basketball. Exciting and interesting--definitely a page turner. The best way to enjoy the pleasure of reading and movies all at once. I see sequel material...everyone has loved the pre-read of The EX-FACTOR. I'm sure it will be one of your favorites." I am the Managing Editor of Urban Knights, a subdivision of Sire Publishing Company, and I enjoyed the pre-read so much that I'm buying a handful as gifts to my female friends!
